Ladysmith Black MambazoAll I knew about Ladysmith Black Mambazo was from Mean Girls - and I'm so happy I finally listened! It's a gorgeous album but could do with a bit more variety to get to that 5.

This album starts off strong with some uplifting tracks but soon melds into one ongoing synth with little differentiation. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Did I think it was just generic music to slowly sway to? Also yes. I didn't get a story, and I didn't get the heartbreak that everybody else did.
Epic journey! I only know OutKast's more commercial hits but every song had something! Even if this isn't you're go-to genre, you can't deny the mix of musicality across the album. Great collabs, great lyrics. Starts strong and the final track is a great conclusion. Overall - this slapp'd!
These harmonies blew me away! I have been recommending this album to anybody who would listen!
Excellent album! It is shorter then other recordings like Folsom so marked it down a little. The highlight is the chat between the tracks for me - really pulled it together.
I mean....excellent. This is a truly EPIC album. I now understand why I see it on so many t-shirts.
Ooft - this was a slog. The guitar I'm Sage Man redeemed it (but not much)
If you're going to get freaky - get freaky. And some of these tracks were FREAKS (I loved it).
You can see they know music because the cultural influences are clear!! You'd have to be blind not to hear them!
Very well done background music. I enjoyed it but wasn't blown away
Absolute classics! Songs to scream to. Songs to cry to. Songs to rock out to! Winner!
As an intro to grunge - I think this showed off the extreme and the commercial. Definitely would've moped to this when I was a teen.
Not enough snakes.
LONG LIVE THE ROOSTER 🤘
Felt like I was in the credits of a Pixar Movie...I like that
Still don't like Jazz - but this was okay.
Repetitive and dirgey
Adele is one of the strongest voices to come out of British Pop in a LONG time, but this album....not the best babes. It's quite routine in what and she's done a lot more with a lot less.
Love a bit of new wave - very easy to listen to
Funky funky music! Talk about giving a diverse listening experiences 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Blissfully chilled
I liked this more then I thought - but it was all the classic folk songs I liked
The vocals and the instrumentals are lush - easy driving music!
I felt like a manic pixie dream girl in an early 00s independent film. Unsettling but not disagreeable
That last track was indulgent but really sexy. Slapped.
Excellent morning pump up album!!!
I was headbanging too hard for the motorway! Loved this
Although I found it slightly repetitive (arguably it's just their sound) - it was a complete album
Disc 2 helped me do admin. Disc 1 was a slog. 4th time was a charm
I vote Yeah (Yeah Yeahs)
It's quintessential British rock but I wasn't moved
This album made me not hate the miserable weather I was driving in! Freedom Flight was gorgeous
Just a bit lack lustre
The bops bopped but the rest...meh.
It's smart - achievable vocal ranges and repetitive lyrics make the songs very easy to sing along to. But I'm not falling for your trap Agnetha!
I was surprised how much I liked this - I had it on whilst working and wanted to actively listen.
For a debut - it's a good start but he's not the King yet!
Full of Bops!! But some songs were a bit slow for my taste
Loved this! Can listen to Björk for days on end!
I enjoyed this - it's like early ska
All I knew about Ladysmith Black Mambazo was from Mean Girls - and I'm so happy I finally listened! It's a gorgeous album but could do with a bit more variety to get to that 5.
The guitar and vocals alone sell this album! Probably more 3.5
The music is gorgeous and the lyrics tell a story - but my god this is a dirge
Love Pulp - best kind of juice!
This album made my day!!! Who knew I had funk in my soul?!?
An ethereal blend of folk riffs with an indie twist. Loved this!
Looking back you can see the transition from the sugar cubes to modern Björk starting here! Ethereal vocals with eclectic melodies - LOVE IT!
A great storyteller with a distinctive sound and good use of music - but so distinctive it kinda became samey. You have to give props to the only person on both the Shrek and Moulin Rouge soundtracks
There's some fun blends of genre here but I just feel that you have to be obligated to like the Beatles
Way more versatile then I expected - but missing the kick from Meg White
Not my favourite Megadeth but some of those bass lines slapped!
Made me feel butch
