Red Dirt Girl by Emmylou Harris

Very beautiful lyrics and voice. Great album, rather chill, added one song to the list.

Time Out Of Mind by Bob Dylan

I don't know man... Some gravely bob d here. I'll give the next dylan album a better shot

What's That Noise? by Coldcut

This is so fucking fire, how have I like never heard of this band at all? The first avalanches? Basically yes. An album so full of great samples it would be impossible to make today. Huge shame this album not on YTM 4+ out the gate Ya 4+ this was fun

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Jan 15 2026

Let me roll is, a song I knew, but not the name of it, half "slow bangers" half plucky dittys. Sounds like a different band every song Last track is great, seems to be the most non Paul track. The reprise at the end got old, felt like this album ran out of steam a bit

So by Peter Gabriel
Jan 16 2026

So many slappers! Big time - new fav I guess PG did sledgehammer first? Strong all the way.

Smash by The Offspring
Jan 18 2026

Yes dude Peak offspring, 3 classic bangers on here in : come out and play, self esteem, genocide, gotta get away. This album is 32 years old .. but incredibly applicable still today, as most punk is the struggle persist. I knew this was going to feel modern with the current federal occupation of MPLS. Bad habit still hits so hard. Combat anthems Few perky/ skaish silly, classic offspring tracks Still kinda fresh. Great album for what it's trying to be, it knows what it is and rips it.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Jan 20 2026

Fuck yes Amazing again how applicable this is, fighting the exact same fight 30 years later. I'll always be amazed that this was perceived by the right the way it was, hmm

All Mod Cons by The Jam
Jan 21 2026

Gosh I kinda get it but mostly don't. I can hear the English bean and the clash in there somewhere but feel like I'm missing the point/ significance here. I see the groundwork for some great English bands in here but is seems very surface level. Feels like the safe/BBC version of what was actually happening.... Maybe I don't have a personal connection/ like the wrong football team or something. Just nothing I found really that moving. But ya can hear some of the downstairs impacts of this.

Playing With Fire by Spacemen 3
Jan 22 2026

What a fun pool of vibes, one rif jazz? Album is 2hr long so can't do the whole thing but love the concept, think I caught some common samples in there. For what it is I found it rather interesting Song names somehow really match the vibe of the songs only using a few notes generally I'll be damned if this ant Alan Sparhawk's favorite album lol, just get lost in the sound and sometimes annoyed. 4

I Against I by Bad Brains
Jan 23 2026

Damn fun, Totally a sort of bridge/ mix of a few things album, it rips tho. Sacred love recorded over the prison phone is wild/ amazing... What a sound, lots going on here, gets into a bit more of a hair metal vibe but I can see the door open to some good trash/ heavy metal. Track "I against I' is the slapper, most punk, then the rest of it kinda drifts away from that style, first 3 tracks fuck 4

Jan 24 2026

Some of the best original songs ever made of this puppy. Stunning. Spun this on the was to the ski hill in Vermont.

Jan 26 2026

Ok we a bit back, could be working on a 4+ here if this stays this fun. So many songs on this one that I very much love. So much more ruckus than I remember lol hell yeah.. Fuck it, 5. This shit so awesome and some of my favorites.

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Jan 27 2026

Probably more important/ better than 4 but was in an awful headspace for this at the time. Trying to fly home from Boston in the snow storm

Pornography by The Cure
Jan 28 2026

Didn't really listen, come back to someday, did half of it,

Lazer Guided Melodies by Spiritualized
Jan 29 2026

Kinda dig the spaced out vibe but I'm not really seeing the need to go 4 I really liked the vibe of it at the time just not really anything that stands out to me

Red Dirt Girl by Emmylou Harris
Jan 30 2026

Very beautiful lyrics and voice. Great album, rather chill, added one song to the list.

These lil french fuckers on to something here, likes this way more than I thought I would

La Revancha Del Tango by Gotan Project
Feb 02 2026

Very much enjoying the smooth jazzy sba vibes. This is a great chilling/ work album. I'm way down with this, might go 5 here but probably 4. The Reggie basanova if fire

The Modern Lovers by The Modern Lovers
Feb 05 2026

This shit fresh What a vibe and sound, and still mixes it up. Probably a 5

Time Out Of Mind by Bob Dylan
Feb 06 2026

I don't know man... Some gravely bob d here. I'll give the next dylan album a better shot

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Feb 07 2026

Expected to be like so fast loud and wall of sound, it's like boring and I don't know how to feel about it. The "rock singer voice" doing like so.much lifting. This is all so.much slower than I expected 2 right now. Just kinda amazingly un remarkable... This a 1 if not for the vibe

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Feb 08 2026

The birth of emo, can dig it, probably more of a 3.5 but going 4 for the vibes

No Other by Gene Clark
Feb 09 2026

Kinda strangely into this, country Neil Young/ jam band Neil Young? Would normally find this kind bland but it's speaking to me, 3.5 but going 4 on the record.

What's That Noise? by Coldcut
Feb 11 2026

This is so fucking fire, how have I like never heard of this band at all? The first avalanches? Basically yes. An album so full of great samples it would be impossible to make today. Huge shame this album not on YTM 4+ out the gate Ya 4+ this was fun

Signing Off by UB40
Feb 12 2026

I mean ya, smooth and out there reggae tone l don't know how to spell but added it to the chill work list, 4

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Feb 13 2026

Instant 5

Shaft by Isaac Hayes
Feb 16 2026

It's no super fly

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
Feb 17 2026

My God some of this is annoying lol, screeching for a whole song, fuckin come on. Child in time got to be one of the most annoying songs in history. This hard to listen to, one review said it was masturbatory and that's so fitting. Nothing.... Forever basic solo of something, "Rock lyric" , strum strum boring and annoying. The cheesy like Jaguar sound bit is a joke right? Lol Made it to "hard lovin man" turned it off, another awful song that seems like a joke. I get it, and even like other albums of that same style but found this just awful, my first 1?

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Feb 19 2026

Kinda instant 5.... Honestly, listened to this last year and it hit even harder, this a big one for me but on re-spin not sure it's a 5... Wow This amazing

Lam Toro by Baaba Maal
Feb 20 2026

Great vibes, beautiful vocals

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Feb 21 2026

This is so much better then some similar albums from the era I have reviewed recently

Suzanne Vega by Suzanne Vega
Feb 22 2026

Lovely creative lyrics. Jaunty and fresh

Nick Of Time by Bonnie Raitt
Feb 23 2026

This was kinda sharp on a personal level, tribulations with relationships and love, hard topic. Well done great voice but kinda not wildly ground breaking.

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Feb 24 2026

Wow this is LOADED with classic bangers, they really only needed to make this one album lol, wow. Kinda got to be a 5, for the time so fuckin fun.

Call of the Valley by Shivkumar Sharma
Feb 25 2026

Kinda making me go insane trying to work and listen. It's nice but ya not for me I guess 3?

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Feb 26 2026

This was so fresh and different I love the freedom he was given on this album. You can just tell and feel he didn't change a thing for the studio. His appetite for "lovin" is just un-matched lolol. Absolute animal. The album also has crazy rang, funk, soul, hard rock, hip hop. Feels like an honest and true personal expression.

Closer by Joy Division
Feb 27 2026

Even more down trotted then other I listened to, not much stood out but busy day. Sold 3

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Feb 28 2026

I'm digging it, so clever, cheeky Good mood, but really enjoyed 4

Savane by Ali Farka Touré
Mar 02 2026

Very chill, krunbin inspirational

Back In Black by AC/DC
Mar 03 2026

God i fuckin can't stand this lazy ass band, ACDC has always pissed me off for it's absolutely boring and shit lerycs and basic ass riffs. Always felt like this band is the pinecle or mass appeal, record company pipeline slop. ACDC are responsible for some of the worst/ most boring tracks of all time. Just slop built on slop- it's like they were given a book of "fun American phrases" and made songs as fast as possible in the topics, shoved them into popular culture. Aerosmith and ACDC are responsible for 90% of the songs on the classics rock radio station that made me turn it off instantly. These bands fall so soundly in my group of bands and songs that never healed up from this era, it was radio slop for a time this music was very popular, that's it, nothing more. This shit is only relevant because a single generation had never heard an electric guitar before. So fucking lazy and unremarkable. Like honestly how does one get more then 30 seconds into any of these songs and think "I need more of this or can't wait to see where this goes". Ugggg Like this is how all the songs were made: think of a phrase- sing it 10 times- fuck it electric guitar riff, Don't even get me started on how toxic the lerycs actually are too, so gross, 0 if it was possible

White Light by Gene Clark
Mar 05 2026

Nice lil chill album, some of the riffs so classic I was thinking they were the start of modern songs. Nice chill classic country

Protection by Massive Attack
Mar 06 2026

This was really cool, such an interesting mix of vibes and feeling almost split down the middle with the old school reggaeton and some times slow trip hop, sometimes both! Rather enjoyed this

Garbage by Garbage
Mar 07 2026

Fuckin fire, 5ish possible here. Ngl when I saw the band I was no thrilled but loved this top to bottom. Such emo, metric, dirty vibes, sinister almost. Very cool Also it's like all bangers and hits, I know like half the songs

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Mar 08 2026

Jam jazz, a freshman year at University classic. Kind fun, heard most of this before l. 3/4

Rocks by Aerosmith
Mar 09 2026

Fuck idiom Rock. These fucking albums and this style of writing is so boring and insulting, I just don't get it. Think of an idiom or phrase, sing it 5 times maybe with another similar phase, some disjointed bs, some solo or rif, print money from the simpletons. This format is so common from this era and ya feels insulting to listen to. Like I'm supposed to marvel at the fact that you said "sick as dog, cat got your tongue" go fuck yourself pointless slop that thinks it's cleaver. Sick as a dog is one of the worst songs I've ever heard, like it actually is nothing but stang phrase lol. And just in general the vocals are so uninspiring, like other idiom rockers, just lean as hard as you can into your "rock voice" and say whatever. So dumb I was at 2 here just because track two has the slightest bit of diversity/ funk but by the end of this I'm so pissed off. 0 and I listened to the whole damn thing

Mar 12 2026

Fun lil thing this album, way more experimental and physically focused then I thought. Like only the last 3 songs have words and it sounds jaunty and kinda of the time, they almost like Beatles songs. Hmm interesting,3.5

Faust IV by Faust
Mar 15 2026

Glad I stuck this one out a bit, ended up being kinda interesting

Berlin by Lou Reed
Mar 16 2026

I mean... Sad song lol Rather dark and down but some great artistry in here. The fully stripped back lyrics hit real hard

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Mar 17 2026

Gosh Arcade Fire you do it for me, holy. Suburbs is a 7 so this kinda has to be a 5.

Suicide by Suicide
Mar 18 2026

Holy holy, this some crunchy , driving, dangerous electro? Wildly diverse in but very like dark most of the time Franky teardrop like fucked me up lol in some sort of way. Never heard of this and thought this was wild.

Steve McQueen by Prefab Sprout
Mar 19 2026

Something very familiar here with kinda Ben folds and Elvis Costello combo? Fun, snappy but easy listening vibe, hmmm I kinda liked it. Lil cheesy at times but kinda fits the vibe

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Mar 21 2026

I liked this more than I thought i would Few of these songs were written by Prince and the whole album kinda sounds like he produced it. Big fun vocals, snappy lyrics and vibe, into it

Casanova by The Divine Comedy
Mar 22 2026

I mean style was chill but ya lyrics where troubling at times and mostly underwhelming

Rejoicing In The Hands by Devendra Banhart
Mar 23 2026

Was nice, lovely all around Maybe my mood but not a ton jumped out at me.

Mar 26 2026

Gosh didn't enjoy as much as I remember, few great tracks but kinda a little uninspiring this time.

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Mar 28 2026

This was a pleasant surprise, always kinda been mehhh oh this band and these songs. Have heard many of the songs on this before and they are fine, good even but kinda like mehhh. BUT listening to this full album gave me the vibe, perspective and context for the songs I've always just kinda heard every once in a while. They really elevate listening to them all together. Really great album on the whole. 4+

Manassas by Stephen Stills
Apr 09 2026

May 18 2026

Found this super enjoyable, my ADHD brain loved the variety, learning about the band I've only really heard of

Debut by Björk
May 19 2026

Ok here we go, going in with an open heart and mind. Ok, super awesome, so dancy and fun. So much more approachable than I expected. Think I'm basing too much of my Bjork take on "oh so quiet". This album was not screechy and manic like I expected. 4+, 5? Such awesome and original sound even for today, loved it

The Stranger by Billy Joel
May 20 2026

Govs shall remember this one

Grievous Angel by Gram Parsons
May 21 2026

Ok so ta emmy lou and this being released after his death might be carrying here... It's held as "a perfect fusion of rock and country" - it's all slow country ballad's except 1.5 songs (one rock a Billy mess), so like nah. The rest of it I also found rather unremarkable, underwhelming. Biggest song in the whole thing is a cover.... Like I'm sorry, this is a nothing burger without the context around it. Sounds harsh but if he was alive when it was released and Emmie Lou had a lesser career, would anyone know about this album? 2 covers......like honestly what is groundbreaking about this album?

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
May 24 2026

This album absolutely rules from top to bottom! Kate bush, hounds of love Sooo good and original, had to just rate it the other day or this would pause, it's a 4+, not a 3

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
May 25 2026

First full listen and wow, like I wanted to hate so much. I generally feel like what the world needs now is another folk singer ( on this list circa 65-75) like I need a hole in my head, but this was amazing. Probably 5 worthy 4++

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder

Elephant Mountain by The Youngbloods
May 29 2026

Kinda really enjoyed this jazz mix of things and vibes, in a great mood so that helps. 3+ for music +1 for vibes and mood brings us to 4 + here. But just kinda sounds like they had a good time making this and everyone got musical input? Just the vibe I get with it all being so different. A cohesive collective made this

Sunshine Hit Me by The Bees
May 31 2026

Amazingly perfect music for a train ride on a sunny day.... With a lady who can't shut up in the next row over.. And this was exactly what was going down. Already like the vibe 4 for music and vibes. +1 for the perfect timing.

Feast of Wire by Calexico

Jun 04 2026

I had a rather good time with this one. Can't really remember what I liked about it even a few hrs later tho Re-listened, chilled out, stoner, vaudeville kyle kraft (good thing) Kinda also like if "catastrophe waitress" was a whole album (again, good thing) 4+

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Jun 06 2026

I mean this not even really one sleeper on this... Listened on the way back from fishing, perfect vibe match

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Jun 07 2026

Agnes and his absolutely vibe factory is the only thing keeping this out the 1 bucket. Idiom Rock, sing the hook 3 times, rip a solo, so damn predictable every track. I knew it was gunna do this dang trick lol

Idlewild by Everything But The Girl
Jun 15 2026
Urban Hymns by The Verve
Jun 16 2026

Feel like I have a lot in common with this albums sentiment and that feels troubling.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Jun 17 2026

So honestly this deluxe version of this album on YT music is like worse. The original album and length is perfect, the rest of this feels like it's just being milked, like you can almost here it in his voice in the performances. Interesting. That said ya this is an all timer for so many reasons. I think most of all just how honest it is. Such a pure expression of pain and love.

Apocalypse Dudes by Turbonegro
Jun 18 2026

Kinda the a peer to green day? Slightly more metal and less jokey? But only slightly. Also fun

One World by John Martyn
Jun 19 2026

For sure some joe cocker vibes going on, he must have gotten that a bit... Update, more then just British joe cocker But some decent stuff in here, big muff is a bop. 3 +ish, bit too much easy listening tracks to kinda dilute it

Jun 23 2026

Hmmm wonder what I had to say about this during my class, also first Beatles album of this at like 160 in. its fun, they earned the right to make silly songs about getting high, let me have it ya know. 4

Devotional Songs by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
Jun 25 2026

I'm not super sure I can handle this, on this 7AM flight from Dallas. Seems fun, kinda a lot right now.

Arular by M.I.A.
Jun 26 2026

Damn life comes at ya fast. Two major conflicts with this leave me kinda lost here. I expected to like this from a musical perspective more then I actually did, wild as it's very much my kind of music, think I found it almost like lazy in some way? It's kinda like really uninspiring from a lyrical perspective, but original and definitely honest, boppy and fun. Conundrum 1. 2. So much like cultural and immigrant pride and unity in this album. It's been 20+ years (listening in 2027) but damn she definitely has different views as of today. Hard to reckon with all the joy and pride of this album as today she is cancelling shows because she is getting blowback from her public, anti-imagination stance. Conundrum 2. Leaves me wondering how she got to this version of herself. How we all got here today. The policy is art v artists is a case by case. Today MIA is in such direct conflict with this album, wonder actually what she thinks of this album today. Feel like this all leaves me in 1+ territory and that's feels wild for me as I really loved this artist Wild the album also finishes with a rebuke of the current authoritarian state. People are however have the right to change. Final verdict 2+

Gave this album away in the divorce, a house trade for the XX. Lol Few all timers on here, most notably I'm on fire, dancing in the dark

This is Kinda a slog. Her voice is great and the lyrics are good. But neither of them are great enough to justify the pace of this.... It's like painfully slow. But... This set played a Berlin in MPLS, 4 old fashioneds and 5 cigarettes would go crazy.

What an amazing look into history and the performance is amazing. Feels like this happened in a completely different world. The music amazing but I'm absolutely struck by the setting, the honestly, the whole thing, wild.

One of the most interesting listenings so far, I was alive and well aware of this at the time. What a truly intoxicating blend of self, time, experience, culture, history. Just damn. This album was and will never be "for me". It's for him and everyone without this voice or anywhere to place this anger. Honestly so interesting to hear it now. I wonder so many things. There is so much anger and sadness in the world still naturally, but how is expressed now? I don't know, alone on the Internet, screaming in the void? Such like a bursting bubble of emotions and culture like and so singular as well. He's so alone in this, reaching out for almost anything, including so much more pain.

Maybe I'm in a bad mood but honestly how is this so highly rated. The music backing is so unspectacular. Neal sounds like a shaky joke and the leryics are far from special.

ok, reviewing the reviewer, but y'all are absolutely cooked, I knew this would have a lower overall and some random Neil young b side. This is maybe the most organic and original sounding album on this whole list. His voice is stunning the band is amazing, it's emotional and beautiful from every angle. Buy y'all like "nahhh give me some coked up folk singer's 10th album from 1978". Because he was all like "hey hey, rock and roll will never die. burn out, don't fade away" -Embarrassing.

Flying home from Texas, felt great with this on. Classic country is so good, and holy hell yeah the ganre has kinda fallen so hard, like Morgan wallen is the biggest act generally right now. Just so different then these cowpolk and outlaw guys of the past. Crazy, is what it is.

The vibe is great, voice amazing however lots of um reinforced gender roles... Like the whole album is him telling women how they should act rather disparagingly in general. Sure of the time but still the whole album is "that temptress this", "way is that young lady so hot but not wife material", "I've drank too much, time to get my wife back" 1+
