Let's Stay Together
Al GreenReally nice this. Just lacking one or two more bangers. Sure I already reviewed this.

Meh
Some reasonable tracks, but this just isn't for me.
Good solid Bowie stuff. Lacking a few more hits but some sleepers on there.
Close to a 4, but the last song and the Dylan pisstake mark it down. 3.5.
A collection of hits to start the album before meandering into mediocrity.
Weird country rock stuff. No thanks
Listenable in the gym but wouldn't listen to it in any other context. Probably a 2.5.
Surprised that I quite enjoyed this. Quite a bit of variety on there. The last song really dragged though.
Very pleasant listen. Good voice, nice music, but a bit backgroundy. Over 3 hours is taking the piss. 3.5 would've fair as there are contexts in which I'd listen to this again.
Very meh. Vocals too low/mumbled to make out the lyrics.
Good stuff. Was going to go 3.5, but a strong finish to the album. Behind Blue Eyes is a great song and a nice change of pace.
Was OK, expected a bit more.
Congratulations Eric, you can play the guitar.
It's ok, voice is a bit too gravely for me. Preferred the album with the band I got last week.
Strange album this. Lyrics seem totally out of place for the style of music. But I quite enjoyed it. Not sure if 2.5 or 3?
Good stuff. Few tracks miss the mark, but overall it's pretty solid.
Managed 2 tracks. As obvious a 1 star as you're likely to get.
Fuck off.
Pretty good pre-punk kinda sound. Borderline 3.5/4.
What the duck is this shite.
Much better album than Self Titled. A bit of guitar wankery, but some interesting stuff going on musically.
Better than I would have expected.
Wasn't bad. But of variety on there, but also a bit of inconsistency as well.
Decent this. Bit too one paced to be anything above a 3 though.
The first beneficiary on the rounding up system. Musically very good. Lyrically a bit all over the place, and I'm not a big fan of Ray Davies' patriotism/nationalism.
Fuck off Sting.
Basically the same as Harness. It's close to be something I would like, without being something I like. A generous 3.
There are a few songs that I'd give a 4, but not enough of them.
The second half of the album was pretty good. The first was just jazzy high notes on repeat. Pretty annoying.
Listened to - whilst trying to feel up the Mrs on the back in of a plane, drunk at 10am. Sound - Ideal for a live album. Good energy, quite short, and no guff between songs that you often get on live albums. Live albums are cheating a bit, as they should basically be a greatest hits up to that point, but loads of bands sounds shite on live albums. Motorhead are metal for punks. Short, sharp, songs, with guitar wankery, generally, capped at about 10 seconds. Relisten - Very likely.
Listened to - on the plane. Sound - Musically it's pretty interesting. Which is more than you can say for most hip-hop/rap. Lyrically it's all over the place.
Listened to - at the airport waiting to board. Sound - about what I expected it's borderline 3/4. Going with a 4, because I think it'd be better on second listen, but it's definitely a beneficiary of the grading up system.
It's not musically unpleasant, but it sounds pretty thin. A lack of lyrics is going to be a big issue for me too.
It's alright. Nothing special. A 5/10.
Pretty good listen this. Some of the lyrics feel a bit dated, or maybe it's just that I'm old. Some of the songs sound a little too similar too, but overall enjoyable.
It's OK.
Speaking of dated.
I dunno, 2? 3? Didn't enjoy it, but it isn't complete shit.
Should have stick to the shorter version. Half this thing wasn't even Johnny Cash.
Gone with a 4, felt the album finished fairly strongly. It's a 7/0 for me though.
It's OK.
Shite.
Did exactly the same as Harness.
Seemed OK, if unspectacular.
First 5. About half of the songs on this I really like. The rest range from OK to good. Nothing I'd immediately want to skip.
It's really good, but few too many songs miss the mark for a 5.
A collection of sound effects.
Fun album. I've given 3s to better stuff, but such is my new grading system.
It was OK.
Better than I expected, but won't listen again.
Not his best work, but a decent album.
Pretty good.
There's a lot more variety here than I was expecting. Didn't like most of it though.
Harness is right. It all sounds the same.
It's ok. Good for what it is I suppose.
Listened to Billy Bragg's Back to Basics instead. Banger.
Quite an interesting start to the album. Glad I listened to it with headphones. No way that song gets made today, even though the message seems to be anti-racist. Overall it was OK. Not something I'd necessarily go looking for, but wouldn't turn off (Rednecks - if in company aside).
My first girlfriend was really into this album. Not listened to it in 20 years. Like it more now than I did then.
On pure enjoyability, it's probably a low 4, but the best songs on the album aren't Beatles songs, and they're generally worse than the original.
Worse than I remember. Can barely hear the guitar om half the songs.
Same same. Nice music, not massively keen on the lyrics/theme.
Pleasant enough in the right context I suppose, but very samey, and the gym was not the right context.
It's ok for what it is. 3 feels quite generous though.
It's not terrible, not great. Expected a little better tbh.
This is probably a 4 after furthing listenings, but it's a 3 after 1 listen. Probably will listen again and enjoy it more.
The album picked up a bit, but a lot of it is very formulaic. Low 3.
Some nostalgia here. Probably not listened to it since I was about 14. The lyrics are all over the fucking place. Almost every song is about him taking crack or smack, until the song where he says he's doesn't so smack or crack. Before rapping about shooting up in the very next song.
It's ok.
Way too angsty. The lyrics are pure aimed at teenage boys. Which is a bit gay.
It's pleasant and boring in equal measures. Probably enjoy an individual song, but an album of it is way too much.
Good solid Bowie stuff this.
It's OK. Not enough variety though.
Quality from start to finish.
Low 4.
The whole album felt like it was building to something that never arrived.
It's just about a 3. Might be getting the benefit of the doubt for just being as shit as expected. It's all a bit bland though.
Had this album on my individual one before I packed that in. It's good, not as good as Paranoid, but decent. The fact I've bothered to listen to it again is a pretty positive sign. Gave it a 3 last time, will go with a 4 on the new ranking system. It's about a 7/10
So so samey.
It's just OK.
No more instrumental stuff please.
Not as "punk" as some of their stuff. Not bad, but not their best IMO.
Yeah, pretty good this.
Almost a 4.
New policy. All instrumental stuff is getting 1 star. Fundamentally, it's not what I listen to music for.
Boring.
It's actually OK
It was a lot less U2 than the other U2 album we had, and that's obviously a good thing.
Very ropey start, picked up a bit, still quite poor. A low 3.
A good, solid 4. Nebraska is a better album and I'm not sure that's a 5.
Mostly just inoffensive. 1 or 2 songs were OK.
Not sure if it's just surpassing some very low expectations. Art rock sounds like a proper wanky pretentious concept. I actually didn't mind this though. 5/10.
Worst of the 3 so far. Still not bad.
Can't fault it for variety. There's a bit of everything on here. Listening to the first song I thought fuck me, I had no idea Van Morrison made country music. Other than that song, apparently he didn't. Overall, didn't love or hate it. Couple of songs were pretty decent.
