Riffs were relatively catchy and the overall sound was inoffensive, but it's a little too formless for me. Alt rock already isn't really my thing, but I had a really hard time appreciating this one. Maybe it's just its age. My favorite song was "Where Is My Mind?".

Very pleasant listen. The overall messages of the album are very straightforward, and the music is delightfully smooth. "Whats Going On" and What's Happening Brother" were my favorites, both from a musical and a thematic standpoint. Makes me think I probably like soul music in general.
Incredibly fun. The song titles are goofy and disarming, the lyrics pay homage to the state of Illinois while also sneaking in some wonderful introspection, and the music is just so pretty. I can't settle on a favorite song yet.
While it's definitely not as hard or fast as modern metal, you can argue this is one of the places where it all began. The sounds they produce here are kind of timeless, and a lot of the songs are unavoidably catchy. I think early metal like this isn't quite my sound, but I can't deny it's good, and its impact on the genre speaks for itself.
This was a fun listen. That early British metal sound is unmistakable here, and it holds up well, although by comparison to modern sounds, it's probably not as hard as it used to seem. Still, it's definitely a good album to jam to.
Very fun. I'm not sure what you'd call the sound that Tears for Fears is notable for, but it's so distilled in this album it's easy to see why it's their most successful. My favorite song was The Working Hour.
I can see how this album was right at home in 1996. It's not my cup of tea, but I can see why it was popular. My favorite song was Becoming More Like Alfie.
I'm thinking psychedelic rock just isn't my cup of tea.
Very cozy. Would definitely make a good rainy day listen. My favorite song was Cello Song.
