One of the best all-girl R&B albums I have ever heard. To be honest, there haven't been many, but I really liked this one. The hit song 'Waterfalls' was, in my opinion, one of the weaker songs. 4/5

First album where I was totally unfamiliar with any work made by the artist. Many country albums were generated recently, so there is some material for comparison. Not as good as Dolly Parton´s 4/5 album, but better than Dwight Yoakam's 2/5 album, so the rating of 3/5 is easily determined. Just a good country album, with not too many positive surprises, but no negative surprises either. 3/5

THE blueprint for a pop album, delivered by the Wilson brothers in 1966. The big hits are, of course, universally beloved; however, the entire album is a crash course in what makes a great pop song. 5/5

Though Jazz isn't exactly my taste, this album starts excellently with some very strong tracks. Towards the end, however, there is just a bit too much fat on the album, and I found myself losing some attention. Still, however, one of the better Jazz albums I listened to, but I remain not a very big fan of the genre. 3/5

I'm totally unfamiliar with this band and, therefore, this album as well. I was positively surprised, as it gave me strong CCR vibes. However, there were not enough positives on this album to warrant a higher rating. 3/5

Second Johnny Cash album for me, after the San Quentin album, not too long ago. This one is more famous, I believe; however, I thought it was pretty unremarkable compared to the San Quentin album. Still good, though, just not as good as the 4-star San Quentin one. 3/5

Fair album, but I was just incredibly quickly bored with it. Afterwards it felt pretty forgettable. Nothing really wrong with it, just very boring. 2/5

An interesting album by a band with many bigger hits in its catalog. However, it is very Talking Heads and is pleasant to listen to. A big hit or two could have lifted this album to a 4 out of 5; now it falls just short of that. 3/5

Good, yet unremarkable album, especially from the time period it is from. There are many similar-sounding albums. There isn't much wrong with it, but I can't give it any higher than a 2/5.

One of many Beatles imitators around at the time. However, this attempt to copy the Fab Four has been quite successful. Many songs appear to be catchy, with some surprising hooks, and a nice variety of songs throughout the album. I wasn't that convinced before listening to it, due to the mixed reviews; however, it scored much better for me than expected. Been doubting between giving it 3 and 4 stars, but will give it the benefit of the doubt, so 4 stars it is. 4/5

Bring back swing music! While it won´t be my favorite genre in music, the world can definitely use more swing. This album is a great example of the power of swing, getting me moving in my seat throughout. The hit ´Buona Sera´ was familiar, but the rest I did not know. 4/5

Not a great Stones fan, and this album is not one of my favorites from them even. I found it quite monotonous and except for the first track, the big hit ´Sympathy for the Devil´, there were not really any highlights on the album. Not bad however, so 2/5.

Unnecessarily complicated album, fitting very much in the era during which it was recorded. Recording quality appeared to be high for the time, however, the songs were just way more complicated than necessary in my opinion. Just giving it the benefit of the doubt by giving it three stars, due to the excellent individual qualities of the musicians. 3/5

Amazing, not overcomplicated rock album. This one just makes me want to drive off in a nice old classic American car into the sunset. However, I think it might be better that I don´t do that, might save me quite a few speeding tickets. 5/5

The title of the album really fits my impression of the music: some nice background music in a club or coffee bar on a Tuesday night. While it really isn't that bad anywhere, the highs just really don't lift it towards anything more than a 2/5.

My goodness, this record is a drag. It is meant to be an attempt at the ´Sunny California´ records from the sixties. But it falls well short of achieving that, just like it falls short of accomplishing anything else. How on earth did this album end up on this list? There is really nothing standing out on this album. A well-deserved 1/5

It´s jazz, it´s instrumental, it´s pretty well played according to my untrained ear, it´s not my style but it´s not bad. 2/5

Nice album, fitting into the timeframe it came out into. The voice of Jack has always been mesmerizing to me and the song 'We're Going to be Friends' was a nice throwback to a song I have long forgotten. All in all, the album falls well short of a perfect score, but is way better than mediocre. 4/5

My goodness, what a horrific album. It seemed to never end. It very much is a product of its time. The industrial sounds just cannot interest me at all. Very easy to rate this album. 1/5

Having heard about the album, but not having heard the album, I was very enthusiastic about this album. I really like rock operas in general, and so I was looking forward to finally listening to it in its entirety. However, it was very underwhelming to me. It felt very samey throughout the entire album, and I found myself bored with it quite quickly. The music is still good, and the songs can be enjoyable separately. Therefore this album cannot score any higher for me than it does. Was expecting at least a 4/5, but it falls short of that. 3/5

Came into this album with zero expectations, since I am completely unfamiliar with this artist or any of his songs. I was very positively surprised by this album, even though it is not one of my favorite genres. The entire album was very pleasant to listen to. However it could have trimmed just a tiny bit of fat of the album to make it perfect, not it falls just short of that perfect score. 4/5

A really tough listen. The singing style really is not to my taste. There is also just a lot of fat on this album; it could have been much shorter. As a big Harry Potter fan, hearing the last song was a nice memory, but that really was the only highlight for me. It saves it from the lowest rating. 2/5

A classic, old-school hip-hop album. I like the aggression in the Beastie Boys and this album in particular. It doesn't beat around the bush with its anger, directed at a plethora of things. It was concise and packed a lot of power, however it missed the peak moment taking the album to an absolute top rating. 4/5

The definition of a ´just fine´ album. The music was very good, though not extraordinary. I am not a fan of the singing style of Jack White; however, this album was pretty good. Overall, pretty enjoyable without major highlights. 3/5

Man, what a tough listen. I am just not a big fan of Nick Cave's singing style. This is also the second Nick Cave album this week, which does not help this rating. But I feel this album is significantly worse compared to the Abattoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus double album. This album features a lot of heavy religious lyrics, which also do not appeal to me at all. Easy 1/5 unfortunately.

A good album, though not a lot more than that. I personally do believe this album could have been left out of this list, since there are many better albums like this one on the list already. Fred Neil has a pleasant voice to listen to and the music itself is also pretty good, it just does not stick out at all in this list. 3/5

Nice progressive rock album. The song 'Roundabout' is of course iconic, I am mainly a fan of the bass playing. Overall strong album. 4/5

I started out as really not a fan of Kate Bush, however this album was better than expected. Still, her overall voice is not to my liking but listening to an album in its entirety places it in a much better context, so an unexpected high rating for this album. 3/5

Third album by Cash in my first 50 albums here. I was not a fan of the artist and genre in general, however, these three albums made sure my opinion of him has improved. This album was the best of the three. Fragile, honest and some great cover songs on this album. 5/5

French language and some odd sounding experimental music? It started out as a simple 1/5 for me. However throughout listening to the album it grew on me, with some interesting listens. The title track was an interesting piece of music and throughout I found it oddly fun to listen to. 4/5

Great album by an all-time great artist. Starting out very strongly with a classic song, and building upon that throughout the rest of the album. However, in my opinion, the album is a bit too monotonous. It could have been a bit better with some more variation. Therefore it falls just short of a 5/5. 4/5

A very important Glam album historically, however the glam movement doesn't really do it for me. It all just sounds a bit samey. This is also the case for this album, it doesn't really go anywhere in my opinion. The hit song 'Get it On' is by far the best song on the album and the only reason it does not score 2/5. Final score 3/5

A good hip-hop album with some strong songs, however it is a very early rap album and is very rough in some parts. The DJ is a bit too trigger happy on the sound effects for my taste and also the raps just don't have the depth some later albums do. You do however hear the potential in the group and it is no wonder this group become as big as it did. 2/5

Really, why was this album chosen to be on here? I don't really like country in general, but this is not even a good country album. The voice is too nasal for my liking and the songs are very unremarkable. It was short, but still too long. 1/5

An all-time classic. Is it too edgy and angry? Yes, but it is very much an excellent product of its time. There are misogynistic lyrics in this album as well, but due to the sometimes absurd lyrics it is hard to take too serious. 'Stan' is one of the greatest rap songs of all time and very inventive, along with just a great cohesion in the album. 5/5

What a complete nothingburger of an album. In my opinion, all the music made by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, both collectively and individually is very redundant with only a couple of exceptions. It is not bad in any way, but it just very quickly becomes background sound to me. There aren't really any things standing out on the album. It was pretty long but it did not feel any longer than it did, so I cannot give it a 1/5 rating. It will be a very very low 2/5.

Perhaps the best album of the 00's. There was no escaping this record back then, and for good reason. The album is packed to the brim with hit singles. And even outside of those are a couple of excellent songs, like for example 'Some Unholy War'. Amy's voice takes you on an excellent journey. 5/5

One of the most important albums of all time, so I feel almost guilty to not give it full marks, but I just can't. The beginning is just excellent and 'With a Little Help From My Friends' is one of my personal favorite Beatles tracks. However the middle part is just a bit weaker to me, with the low point being 'Within You Without You'. It just sounds annoying to me. The ending is strong again, however there are just a couple too many points in the album I did not really enjoy to give it the highest rating. 4/5

I am always a big fan of horn sections in music, and this album has plenty of that, so that is a big plus. The first half of the album is great, however it slips a bit in the second half, as the horns take more of a back seat as well. Really the first 4 songs are the highlights for me. 4/5

Just another country album, nothing really standing out for me. It isn't bad, there is just nothing special. It is really full of clichés lyrically, which even stood out to me who never really pays much attention to lyrics. 'Hillbilly Highway' could have been a parody song and then I would have said it was a bit too obvious. It just makes it past the minimum mark since it was at least somewhat enjoyable to listen to. 2/5

For me the definition of a 'good' album. It is overall good, has some highlights but not really that many. Some weaker points but they are easily ignored. Some massive hits on there as well. And an interesting concept behind it. It just doesn't really do anything exceptionally well in my opinion. Therefore I can't give it any higher than what I do here, compared to the 1000 other albums on this list. 3/5

How very British. This album is full to the brink with Britpop. Lyrics are very horny, which is kind of off-putting. However towards the end of the album my attention quickly faded, hardly noticing when the album was over. Not a lot of really bad stuff, but not very enjoyable either. 2/5

This album fits very well into its time frame, however it falls a bit flat in every characteristic for the time. It isn't really upliftinglike The early Beatles, it definitely doesn't sound like the Beach Boys, by far not as experimental as the late Beatles. It just doesn't really do anything. 'California Dreaming' is however an all-time classic hit and will never be forgotten. It is easily the best song on this album as well. It almost lifts it to a 3/5, however it falls just short of that. 2/5

My goodness what a drag. Not helped by the fact that this is the second Pulp album in two days I've had to listen to. This one is even more a load of nothingness. I wouldn't know how to describe this album. It is a pretentious Bowie album, but there are no highlights on this album at all. The never-ending outro on the last song is symbolic for the pretentious load of horsedung on this album. Easy 1/5

Strong start, slightly weaker ending, however overall a pleasant listening experience with a bit of everything in there. 3/5

Not a big fan of Neil Young's music, but this album was surprisingly pleasant to listen to. Some very sharp commentary as expected from Young, but accompanied by above expectations music. I however remain not a big fan of his singing style, which for me drags this album down quite a lot. I was doubting a lot between giving this album 3 or 4 stars, but ended up giving it the benefit of the doubt. 4/5

Very nice record. The overall feeling of the album is very upbeat. We got the Beat is of course the big hit and makes me feel pretty happy overall when hearing it. Just short of a perfect score. 4/5

A beautiful album full of covers, Willie Nelson's fragile yet beautiful voice shines in it, yet there is not a lot in it for me to make it really stand out. It is an honest but unfortunately slightly unremarkable record. 3/5

I don't really know what to think of this album. It is definitely not an easy listen. On one hand there is not a lot going on, on the other it is very complicated. It tries really hard to be one thing, but is not really anything at all to me. A very mystifying album. I thought it was good, but somehow not very enjoyable. A real odd ball and therefore tough to judge. Let's be safe and put it slap bang in the middle. 3/5

Little notes about this album, just 50 minutes spent on an album that could very easily have been removed from this list. This never felt like an album someone really should have listened to, there are many albums like it that are way better. 1/5

Very enjoyable listen in my opinion. The mostly upbeat and happy songs work really well, in particular the two hit songs from this album. But with the other songs this trend is continued as well. The album is remarkably devoid of weak points. I never expected it, but this album definitely deserves the full marks. 5/5

Not a big rap fan, but an enjoyable album to listen through. Some songs I was already familiar with, though I am not sure where I heard them before. Yes it is offensive at times, which reminds me of the more classic rap albums of the 90's. Which is a good thing in this case. Has it made me a bigger rap fan? No, that it definitely did not do. But was it one of the most enjoyable rap albums to listen through? Yes, sir it was. 4/5

Just a bunch of background noises to me. It was not really annoying, but it wasn't really anything to be honest. Someone who studied music will undoubtedly say this is some amazing piece of art. But I listen to be entertained, which I very much wasn't with this record. 1/5

I feel like it is tough to rate a Christmas album, especially around Christmas time. The songs are well-known, well-executed and well-produced. But I feel as though it is hard to do anything special with it, which it therefore didn’t do. 3/5

Pleasant to listen to. Nice to hear the original of a song I only knew in my native tongue. The emotion in the voice is very audible and nice to hear. However it is a dated record which drags it down a bit. 3/5

Fair album, however I feel like there are many better albums by Taylor Swift that didn't make this list. But it's a middle of the road poppy album, but very well executed. Not the biggest fan of her music, but it always is enjoyable. 3/5

What a complete airball. This album isn’t going anywhere, isn’t doing anything at all for me and therefore isn’t pleasant to listen to at all. It just keeps going in a samey tempo for about 45 minutes without anything special going on. 1/5

A very good album, but very much a product of its time. However it made me think: was this album just following the trend at the time or did it set it? I am more inclined toward the second option. However the weak interludes detract a point from this otherwise great album. 4/5

Yeah this is definitely an album... Not really much to say about it. Just very unremarkable. Should I have listened to this before I die? Apparently so, but I wouldn't agree. Just a very unremarkable album scoring just above the lowest mark, since it isn't bad but really not good either. 2/5

Very much a product of its time. It is just very early 80s in every bit. There aren't a lot of things on this album that jump out of that frame. But maybe this was one of the key albums in constructing that frame, I am not familiar enough with the music to say so. I was very much doubting about the rating for this album, but it falls just short of a 4 mark. 3/5

I found myself pretty confused while listening to this album. I really struggled to understand what this album was trying to be. It obviously is a hip-hop album, but it seems to be really stuck between ages and unsure which one it belongs to. There is nothing really bad about it, but the confusion ensured a not very high rating for me. 2/5

Close, really close to a perfect score here. The album is upbeat, fun to listen to and Cyndi Lauper has a pleasant singing voice to listen to. Yeah, it is unclear to me what this album wants to do. It is very pleasant to listen to this music while in the sun on a festival field somewhere. I can tell from experience. But is it really memorable and moving? Well not to me. 'Under the Pressure' is a really nice song though imo, moving it up from a 2/5 to a slightly higher rating. 3/5

Not very good, not very bad. Just an overall nice punk rock album. It is a bit monotonous overall, with most songs being samey in terms of tempo and theming, but since those things are overall chosen quite well, it is not a big drawback. 3/5

I have never done any drugs, but I imagine this is what being on a bad trip whilst having done three different types of drugs feels like. There is some musicianship hidden very deep underneath the noise, but my goodness what a horrible execution. 1/5

There is just simply too much Stephen Stills on this list. Is this album bad? No definitely not. Is it noticably different from the other ones on this list? No definitely not. There are some nice songs, but many monotonous songs you have heard before from him. Won't give this one a listen in its entirety again. 2/5

Artists wanting to make an interesting longer album, take notes. This album is on the longer side, but keeps the listener interested by varying lots throughout the entire album. However I am just not a fan of the singer’s voice, costing this album the perfect rating. 4/5

Easy five stars, didn't even need to listen, but of course I still did. This album is in my personal top 5 albums of all time. Pretty much all songs are killer in my opinion. The best debut album for any band of all time (excluding supergroups). All members are terrific in their craft and showcase that on this record. I can keep going, but it is an easy rating. 5/5

I personally really dislike Radiohead and this album is no exception. It just feels as something too complicated for me to understand, and I don't feel like I want to understand it either. This album is not the worst out of the Radiohead albums and isn't completely horrible however. 2/5

A model album for me. Short and to the point with its songs. Songs are well put together and great individually as well as collectively. Just lacking the exclamation mark and the variety for the highest score. 4/5

I somewhat like my Irish folk from time to time, however it seems that my limit is around 35 minutes, after that it becomes to repetitive. At least this album has taught me that. So it is hard to rate this album, but I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt. 3/5

Jazz is a difficult genre for me to judge. It is not very accessible and since I am not the most avid listener, I tend to not really like most of it. However the stuff I do like, I like a lot. This however falls into the first category. I don't really understand the aim of this album and its music. It is likely on me for not understanding it, but I cannot give it a higher mark than I am doing now. 2/5

Tough album to rate for me. I don't have any strong connection to the mammoth figure that is David Bowie. His music just didn't click with me, perhaps if I was around when it was released it would have been better. This however is a relatively good Bowie album in my opinion, it is quite enjoyable, especially in the first half of it. Later on he starts losing me a bit, with some of the typical Bowie weirdness which just isn't for me. 3/5

Wow, what a journey this album is. This album is on the long side, but with the exception of some small moments, it managed to maintain my full attention throughout. There are not enough highlights for me to warrant the max rating, but only just. 4/5

There aren't too many rap albums on this list and so far all I have listened to have been really good. This one unfortunately falls a bit short of that. What a great listen. I was really dreading it beforehand, given its enormous length. But Ella's voice is something I hardly could get enough of. The only thing detracting from this is the instrumental part, this wasn't really necessary on an already pretty long album. 4/5

The opening track is of course very well known and lures you in, thinking you will have a good time, however it gets monotonous very quickly with just a load of organ all over the place. It even roughly repeats the first track later on on the album as well. Very underwhelming after a really great start. 2/5

I feel like the only reason this album gained any prominence, is due to the fact it came out in the only window when there was any interest in this kind of music. It feels very bland and generic for its time, with little to no songs standing out on the album. It isn't really bad at all, it just feels like a cheap effort to write according to what is popular. 2/5

Yeah this was exactly what I expected from this band. Not really surprising therefore, but pretty nice to listen to overall. It lacked a bit of variety but overall it was a good listen. 3/5

This is the quintessential early 90’s rock album to me. Yeah some might have bigger hits on them but this is the complete product. A guide to the rock music at the time neatly packed in one apbum. 5/5

It started out beautifully, but it grows stale quite quickly. There is just one emotion with this band and all the songs are written with that emotion in mind. The songs are very well written though, just a bit monotonous. 3/5

There are many David Bowie albums on this list. Many of them are deservingly so, but for 'Low' it feels to me as if this list could have done without it. There is just too little on this album which is standing out. Tomorrow pretty much all of this album will be forgotten. 'Sound and Vision' is the most famous track on this album and the most memorable one. In addition to that one there is not a lot here. 2/5

Great concept album. It really made me hate men, even though I am one as well. But this is no criticism of the album, it just proves that this album is very good at driving a point across. 3/5

I mean, this album was everywhere when it came out, so a lot of songs were well familiar to me. It feels a bit safer compared to the other Adele albums, keeping it between the lines. The album could have had a bit more variety for it to be even better. 3/5

Wow, I didn't really know much about this album but it blew me away. Very powerful lyrics about meaningful themes at the time. Themes which are also still relevant today. Yeah it sounds somewhat dated musically, but the message stands out very strongly. 5/5

It is probably down to me, but I expected a lot more from this. I was quite quickly somewhat bored with it. Of course Nina Simone isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination but it just fell a bit flat. 2/5

For me Prince is an odd artist. I either end up being a fan of an album or just finding it extremely boring. This one definitely falls in the first category. Man this was a blast to listen to. The title track and ‘The Cross’ were the highlights for me but for a max rating from me it needed one more exclamation mark. 4/5

Yeah this is absolutely not an album you should have listened to before dying. It's not inherently bad, but the voice is very annoying in my opinion. It's a question of 'How British can you get?' which is very off putting. The low recording quality also makes it tough to listen to the craftmanship of the musicians. 2/5

Very nice and funky record. It doesn't stand out as much to me as other similar records on this list, but it still is a blast to listen to. Only the 13 minute instrumental feels a bit too much for me, that could have been a bit shorter, the album feels draggy there. 3/5

I really want to like those albums that are a little more 'out there'. This one is, with both a rare language and cultural background. But I really cannot like this album. I am a big fan of soulful music, but this one was just a bit too much of the stereotypes often used with this music for me to enjoy it any more than I did. 3/5

I am about to see The Cure play at a festival next weekend, so that is a nice coincidence. I was largely indifferent toward them until recently. I became a bit of a fan, but nothing too crazy. Which I feel you can say about this album as well, nothing too crazy. I feel this is a rare occasion in which an album is a bit too short for my liking. There are definitely some highlights, but just not enough to warrant a higher rating. 3/5

Man, this was a trip far into outer space. I guess I am more comfortable with staying on earth. This is just too trippy for me. Musically it is really very interesting, but just not very appealing. Excellent musicians, horrible songwriters. 3/5

It's just so generic, like a run of the mill pop album. Which it is, so no surprises there. It's not really bad and 'Angels' is a guaranteed hit in any pub, which is a very big plus. I am giving it medium marks, which is probably more than it deserves, but Robbie's charisma in live performances I've seen drives it up a mark, which is totally unrelated to this album but he's just such a good showman. 3/5

It feels as though this album set the trend and therefore can be considered a major influence in 90s music. There are many great songs on here and the entire album feels whole. 5/5

I grew up in a household with a Fleetwood Mac hating parent, so I had a lot of assumptions about this album. But it blew me away completely. It is a beautiful composition of songs, themed nicely. Full of hits and great album tracks. An excellent blueprint for any music album. 5/5

Like all the other Steely Dan albums, it is absolutely joyful to listen to it. Time passes quickly when you listen to this album. It deosn't really change pace much, or genre for that matter. But all in all they are the masters of providing a pleasant ride for anyone who wants to listen to an album in its entirety. 4/5

All albums by Prince are of a very high standard. Some of them exceed those lofty standards and are all time greats. In my opinion however, this is not one of them. Prince has made some better albums, though many many artists would have given up a lot to make an album like this I believe. 4/5
