Urban Hymns
The VerveThat one song was good tho
That one song was good tho
Had some fun alternative riffs with like a spring sound but I can remember one song so not my favorite
Bluesy
Honestly not my favorite. Has some classics but overall feels messy and a little more grungy than i would want
Smooth, thoughtful indie rock.
Techno sad boy
Forgettable. Sad ass lyrics tho
Same old radio head, not much my jam. Also did this song have songs off of kid a? That or they sound the same
80s vibe. Seemed more lyrical and I didn't pay much attention to the lyrics
Indie rock vibes, but like didn't stand out to my ear.
easy to tell this one is from the 80s. I thought it was kinda experimental in its rhythms and instruments.
10 minutes of killer guitar to open. Funky and emotional. Power to the pussy
Pretty solid 90s hip hop. Not my favorite genre though so middling review.
70s rock. Kinda had the vibes of the rocky horror picture show to me. Definitely atleast one shredding guitar part.
Made me feel like I was in the bayou. Also I think the ccr singer was born with a voice for 70s rock, it's so iconic.
Seemed like some good straightforward punk rock. I would probably like this more some other day. Yesterday was not a punk rock mood.
Groovy classics
did he stay together with this girl? IDK i dont listen very intently, but at a surface level he definitely was spitting some game
Classic 90s hip hop/rap. I liked the amount of samples and skits, did not feel it was overpowering.
I want you to flyyyyyyyy freeeee biiiiird!!!! Also these guys have some sick guitar lines
Early hip hop and dance combo. I liked a few songs but not all. I did like a few of the skits, like the radio call in leading into the next song
Had like one banger. Generally too slow for my liking
Surprisingly small band to make this list. Seemed like some classic rock/metal with maybe some emo influences in tone and lyrics? Overall a fan!
I liked the funky little guitar lines but otherwise not memorable
forgettable 60s
R&b and country and rock all rolled up into some tight, groovy ass songs.
I might have enjoyed this album more if I was not snowboarding. It was too slow for snowboarding
Voice like the 80s. Which also means it blended in with all other 80s music for me.
Ethereal pop. I listened a full time through and it didn't catch my attention much.
One song is 20 minutes long. Prog rock meets 80s was a chefs kiss.
Punk meets alt rock. It was pretty good but I think I still prefer punk and alt rock
Great work music! I don't think it had any vocals, more of a latin EDM style I would say.
Probably should listen more. Had an ethereal indie pop vibe I would liken to the Beatles, but it wasn't that kinda vibe last night.
Fun ethereal trap pop. I think they have some catchy drum and bass lines and I like the vocals, they remind me of being in a 1920s speakeasy. I ended up listening to dummy a bit more instead of third. That one will get 5 stats.
Did they invent alt rock?
80s girly pop. Straight up my alley, I was singing along.
Pivotal 2010s pop album. I think it might experience the Seinfeld effect where it was so important as to become the norm, and now does not sound distinct.
The sound of this album is what I will associate with the genre speed medal. I would qualify it as a defining album of that genre.
Solid 90s rap but doesn't make my classics list.
Deserves more of an in depth listen
Interesting alt rock is how I would describe this. Kinda reminds me of radiohead a bit.
Indie pop rock. I have never heard of this band but this album was a jam! After listening, I wonder if one of my other favorite bands (tally hall) drew some inspiration!
Im very glad this album was recommended, I would've never known about ria otherwise. I have no idea what they're saying but the instruments sound great!
Tom waits has a beautiful voice but I didn't much enjoy the stand up aspects of this album. There was a lot of crowdwork
Has some very good songs and iconic eminem rap parts, but I don't think many of the skits or some songs aged well. In general I'm not a huge fan of skits in albums anyways.
Glad I discovered this album, it feels representative of disco! I wonder if there will be more disco albums chosen or if none compare?
Pleasantly surprised that while this is generic 70s/80s rock, it also slaps.
Had some fun alternative riffs with like a spring sound but I can remember one song so not my favorite
1970s album that definitely felt ahead if their time. This is the first album I did not finish because i didn't enjoy the first 14 songs.
Gorillas pushes all types of genre lines while making fantastic music. More popular virtual act that hatsune miku tho?
I liked one or two songs but otherwise don't remember others. I think this album could grow on me more.
Gothic air
That one song was good tho
Obviously war pigs smacks. But I also liked one kf the later songs ln the album, which was an open sound space almost jazz like drum focused song. Cool to see the depth of the band!
He's got the range
Solid rock but I don't think it stands out from other rock that much
Forgettable
This album fused funk like elements into the famed herbie Hancock jazz. I liked the inclusion of what I think are synthesizers? Thus guy has a long career of pushing the genre and I would like to listen to more.
I like steely Dan a lot but this isn't my favorite album by them. I listened to this for a while then swapped over to aja
90s hip hop with a little bit of soul. I should listen to the lyrics more
Only not 1 star because one song his voice was fukn raw. Folksy poetry type lyrics, but I struggle to listen to lyrics so I didn't like it much
Has Mr brightside but also the entire album is very good. I like the sound of the vocals, it brings a cohesive feeling theme to the album.
Non offensive folk poppy stuff, but not memorable
I liked the instrumentals of this album, did it have an orchestra? I should revisit this one with more attention
A bit too eclectic for my tastes
I just don't listen to lyrics enough to enjoy Elliot Smith
Club dance poppy. I also love her voice. I should give this one another listen, might become a 5?
I feel that this album represents rock transitioning from blues and folk. I didn't enjoy it much but it could be worth another listen
I liked the bass lines and a capella. Especially the bass a capella
Maybe a 3.5. I enjoyed it but I don't think it stands out from rock of the same era
Metals best known flutist
I like the folks vibe
Wasn't a fan personally. Too much distortion
Kinda folky and also swing. I liked it. Made me listen to some Johnny cash
I think this was one song, or atleast I couldn't find this album on spotify
I like the emotion in her voice. Some songs are good but some are forgettable enough.
Easy country folky songs, but nothing stood out
I liked the more metal focused songs. Overall I was a fan but this leaned more on the side of just an ok album for me.
I enjoyed it but also I don't feel that it stood out from 90s sound much. I ended up listening to Tupac after this because I think it's the same vibe but I enjoy it more.
Heads will roll is a classic but I listened to this album a few times through and can't remember a single other song.
I think I don't like post emo and goth music much. This is like third album like this and I'm sure it's genre defining but I didn't like the sound much.
Has some fantastic singles but also more range than you immediately think of by linkin park
I like the blues a lot, I'm a sucker for harmonica. I listened to more muddy waters after this and liked some other albums more (getting hard or something)
This guy's voice has power and I think the backing band is tight
I listened a little and didn't much like the vocalist but the other parts were good.
I think this was mostly instrumental and was nice but didn't stand out to me much. Kinda felt like elevator music
Could be a 3.5. Easy going and nice to listen to but not something i would seek out.
Very melancholy. If I were a lyric man I would probably like this more but it was too slow and folky for my taste
British pop. Kinda ethereal and light, reminds me of tally hall which I like
I liked the guitar lines, got my head rocking a few times. I could see this rating being higher if I listened more
This queen album had more focus on guitar which was cool.
Allegedly fully improvised piano concert. The skill for that is incredible. There is one reoccurring section of notes (motif?) That feels so familiar I could swear I've heard it before. Doing that while improvising is incredible.
Did not catch my attention but also was not hard to listen to
Seven nation army saved this album in my eyes. The rest was pretty forgettable.
I liked the synth. Fun alt rock type vibes
I want to rate it higher. And I took another day to listen. But it just didn't catch me.
I liked the one song that is extremely popular off this album. I did not like the one about eating chips in her house. Overall kinda groovy and funky but if only 2 songs stand out and one is because i don't like it, I cant rate it very highly.
I may need to listen to this more but I like the concept of metal band meets orchestra
I liked this album a lot. I do think it was quite long and could have done better in my review if it were cut down more to the essential songs.
I love the vocalists voice. I also like synthetic pop. A few songs (the singles) I liked a lot but others did not stand out so not a 5.
Love a good jazz album. But also this faded to the background for me, so can't be 5 stars.
Probably a 3.5. I like the steel guitar and harmonica, but it was a bit too slow style folk for me
I liked his voice and it was cool that it was a soundtrack, but because of that I feel the instrumental portions felt out of place from the rest of the album.
Not unpleasant, would probably go up with a more attentive relisten but it's not my current vibe
Could listen more
THE jazz album. I also have it on vinyl so today's album was special!
Simple, chill, elegant
The skits make it feel very 90s. Some good songs I hadn't heard here before.
Not a bad album buy didn't prefer it over another of hers recommended here.
Like a 3.5. I liked the titular song but the others never caught my attention.
Call it a 2.5. Surprisingly clear lyrics. I'm middling on the assortment of noises in addition to instruments.
Thought this would be a 5 but didn't catch me. Could maybe listen more and score higher.
Got me moving and grooving in a few songs. Also i feel his spanish intonation is good so could be cool to try to study the songs and understand them for learning spanish.
Generally liked but do not foresee myself putting this on again
Most memorable song for me was the Thom Yorke feature mainly for his voice
Honestly probably doesn't break my top 3 favorite Beatles albums.
Is this the og bad bitch pop? So horny. Pretty good tho!
It's got that one song tho
I think this was a really cool rock album with horns, flute, and a general psychedelic vibe. My favorite song was Ted, just admit it
I like it but idk that I would call it an instant classic. Plus I think the dead is best live (or on their live records)
Odd album because it had some of the best stones songs but also really a lot of songs I would skip.
