Arrival
ABBADancing Queen, banger Knowing Me, Money, also bangers. Album growing on me 6 tracks in. Back half of the album not catching me as much. Solid 3 stars.

This style of vocals keep me from liking a lot of bands that get labeled psychedelic rock. Guitar part in Waterfall is catchy. This and Shoot Your Down, This is the One, I Am The Resurrection, Fools Gold are my favorite tracks. Cut it down to just these songs it's a solid 4 star EP. Lots of songs that are objectively good, but overall it's not really for me. Back half of the album just pulled it up to three stars.
5 starts, if I've heard this album 100 times if I've heard it once. Doing the 1001 album challenge with my Mom who got me the tapes of this, Pearl Jam - Vitalogy, and Sheryl Crow - Tuesday Night Music Club for Christmas one year.
This is my first listen to this album (or any of their albums) , never got into the Killer's past hearing them on the radio. That is so many hits at the top of the album. Probably should be four stars based on just the first five tracks (back half is forgettable), but doubt I'll ever put this album on again, and I think wanting to listen to an album again will be a requirement to get 4 or 5 stars.
Maybe it's because I just started watching VCV Rack videos again, but with headphones on this album ruled.
Was between a 4 and 5 star rating, but if I don't give something like this 5 stars, I'm barely going to have any 5 starts at the end of this.
Out of the initial three albums by Arcade Fire, probably the only one that isn't five stars. Their ball drop at Coachella in 2011 is prob in my top 10 concert moments. That all being said, this is probably the first time I've listened to one of their albums since the reports against Win were made public a few years ago.
Never really listened to Rod Stewart so this album really surprised me, enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to, almost got a 4.
Finally admitting to myself that I'm just a Ziggy Stardust fan, not a David Bowie fan. First album where I was looking forward to it being over, Changes, Life On Mars? and Andy Warhol kept this from being a 1 star.
Recognize how influential they are and their radio hits are fine, but have bounced off of any of their albums I've tried to listen to, this one included. We Walk was the standout track.
Solid album, even if all of the tracks kind of sound the same to the point that the album felt long. Won't ever put it on again, so three stars it is. Best track was no body, no crime followed by long story short.
Humpty Dance is a classic. Really don't know how to feel about this one, but was bobbing my head to the beats a lot, so three stars? The concept album really coming out in those last few tracks......
Instrumental intro to the first track was so good, though maybe I was about to find a second Bowie album I liked, then his vocals started and just killed it. Least favorite album so far. The bass lines are far and away the best part of this record.
I've not listened to many Stevie Wonder albums straight through, so this was a great pick for today. Really solid and funky, just a few slow moments and weird stereo panning I didn't click with that kept it from five stars. Maybe your baby was the standout track, with I Believe second (not counting Superstition)
First track was a killer, from there music stayed pretty solid while vocals were a mixed bag at best.
Solid album, though the best tracks are those with Del the Funky Homosapien. Enough tracks that are just fine to keep it from five stars.
Really solid and varied album. Only other experience with Manu Chao was them opening for RATM at their 07 reunion show and they put on a great concert then.
Listened to it yesterday, happy to listen to it again today or any day. RIP Brian Wilson, fuck Mike Love.
Not a huge fan of U2, but enjoyed this more than I expected too. Was even thinking four stars for a bit, but the back half was weaker and brought it down to three.
This album is funky as hell.
Some really interesting things musically, especially the horns, but can't give it more than three stars with those vocals.
I could totally see this being a five star for some people
Cult of Personality is so good, but the rest just doesn't catch me and retains too much 80s rock.
"musically they're amazing but the vocals are so bad I can't get into it." Going to be a copy and paste for way too many early prog rock albums, at least this one has Tom Sawyer and YYZ.
This is a tough one. Legit a great album, but I self-admittedly never actively listen to Springsteen and I set my four start cut-off to albums I'd choose to listen to again. Don't know if this will be 3 or 4 stars until I hit submit later tonight.
The community reviews for this albums are all 1s and 5s and that makes sense.
spending a lot of time over at whosampled.com thanks to this website (Elastica and Three Girl Rhumba in this case)
That voice and those bass lines
Listened to the Thriller cassette tape a bunch when I was young, but first time listening to Bad. The radio hit are still bangers (even if AAF's version of Smooth Criminal is better) but the rest is pretty meh.
Dylan is a great songwriter and I love listening to people cover his songs, but I'm squarely in the camp of hating his vocals. They made this a rough 51 minutes.
Thought I had listened to this before, but I guess not that closely. Between Lust for Life and The Passenger + The Stooges I expected to like this more. Minus a star for Sixteen. The number of musicians that wrote songs about lusting for underage girls in the 70s/80s is unbelievable.
There's enough interesting stuff in the music to keep this from being one star. Replace/remove the vocals and this goes up a star, maybe two.
It's not the 1 star I thought it was going to be a minute in, enough catch elements to snag a second star.
I don't consume enough blues music, live or recorded.
Imagine releasing 15 albums and having enough left in the tank to drop this.
As an instrumental album this would be four stars.
Such a solid album. Could listen to The Weight all day long
I'd listen to it again, and I'd definitely listen to other Sly albums again, but didn't pull me in as much as I expected.
This Sinatra guy has a good voice, he's got a bright future ahead of him.
Amazing album, but enough circusy stuff that was amazing production in the day, that sounds a bit dated now. 4 stars.
The story behind this album is way more compelling than the album itself. 2
Totally get why people would love this album, the style just isn't for me.
Textbook three stars. Fine, but as someone not super familiar with the Talking Heads, not as compelling as I was expecting.
Incredible album
Definitely would have preferred a Ray Charles album that wasn't a batch of country, folk, and Western music standards.
Musically this album is amazing, would be 5 stars with a different vocal range.
Easiest 5 star so far. While this is here for Ozzy, for me Iommi is what made Sabbath, followed by Geezer.
As good as thrash metal gets?
