highlight: i wanna be adored. lame and obvious answer but what did you expect. i also liked elizabeth my dear despite being very short :( and shoot me down. back half was better than front half but maybe i was just getting more into it as it went on.
lowlight: this was a solid album nothing too bad but nothing like life changing i don’t think. possibly a grower, would listen again. made of stone was my least favourite but again it was still alright i just didn’t like the instrument it was a bit eurovision-y i think. fool’s gold was also not great it drags on. but overall good stuff
historic for a reason ngl
excellent beat throughout
good yes but maybe not for me i love neil young but he’s extra whiney in this one and i can’t get past that rip
Not bad but too 2010s hipster indie folk for me despite being from 2001
very nice and calming. helped me chill out on the train to scotland. i loved the drums
it’s classic queen what can i say
EXCELLENT album i cried johnny cash my goat
unfortunately the who will always be just a little bit boring to me 💔💔 but i do love substitute of course
foo fighters my nemeses… gets two stars because one of the songs was ok but i am not willing to relisten to find out what song it is
if i liked christmas music this would be an all time great but alas.
i had fun but it’s not my favourite
some nice enjoyable funk but not anything life changing
DNF. the only bits that didn’t bore me annoyed me and the majority made me feel a mix of both emotions. not great
i love radiohead but not quite a 5/5 i think
BIG step up from after the gold rush, no whininess and good sound this is what i was looking for ty neil young i knew you could do it
this was very enjoyable actually i didn’t know it was more neil young crazy
just really not my genre i love amy winehouse in theory but i got like three songs into this i couldn’t be arsed anymore. also the blatantly homophobic opener brought the mood down a little bit
obviously i adore the beatles but im unfortunately a michelle and drive my car hater… in my life and im looking through you and norwegian wood and nowhere man are such highs though it can’t be any lower
not bad i liked the harder instrumentals but it was a bit samey plus the cover in the context of them all being men is a bit grim…
ok but his later stuff is better i think
2 stars ugh it’s fine i guess i just find coldplay so incessantly bland boring and annoying i don’t get why they’re so popular it’s all the same piano and guitar chords with nonsense lyrics it’s so inoffensive i have nothing else to say
do ya think i’m sexy? no i don’t.
my unresolved hatred of rod stewart may be negatively affecting this review but it negatively affected my experience of this album. it’s fine. three stars.
this is really 4.5 but this platform hates me (i love a ten point scale) i love this album but loses half a star for being a bit samey it sounds so good though very enjoyable
they really put the orchestral in orchestral rock i liked a lot of the riffs but then the singing i was not as much of a fan of
it’s such a classic but also the songs are too long they’re good but i’ll look up and it’s still going 💔💔 but ofc prince is prince
i enjoyed this actually i really liked common’s rapping style and the themes in especially a song for assata were super interesting. reminding me to brush up on my black american communist history actually. but probably not something i’d keep going back to.
super fun the long instrumental was a bit like pink floyd actually
Quite inoffensive but I'm not excited by it
this was fun i didnt know johnny rotten was in this band omg but yes the title track and theme were my faves the end track was a bit odd but overall good
I’m sure this is technically some very impressive jazz but I just can’t find it in me to care
this was ok i just have instrumental jazz fatigue
i hate def leppard. they’re so fucking boring and cringe and lame and they can’t sing. what is the point in making metal when you have nothing of substance to say. ‘ooh sex and rock and roll’ not even drugs you might as well make pop music at least then it’d sound better
this was very good. i love how smooth his rapping style is
not bad but could’ve been better just standard country
mid dance music nothing i particularly want to listen to
this was ok but i would not revisit
i had a great time it was some nice generic rock but not generic in a bad way
this was fine sweet emotion is the only song i’d relisten to though
this was very good actually my favourite was the title track the last track was a bit weird and ‘cock’ heavy but overall enjoyable
some ok dance music i suppose
this was perfect actually
it’s time to put the cigarettes DOWN tom
This is so obviously her best work the writing is perfect the guitar is excellent its so emotional and nostalgic
The best soul album I’ve listened to which is not a super high bar but I still did enjoy it very much
This was pretty good I enjoyed the themes of grief and loss but I can’t really see myself revisiting it
This was fine I don’t get the appeal of Peter Gabriel but whatever one song was decent but otherwise just uninteresting
pretty good i have no strong feelings about it but the instruments sounded good didn’t really leave an impression though
i don’t like i bet that you look good on the dance floor as much as i remember
They are the original punk band which i respect but unfortunately they are not the best punk band
this was really good i missed my indie rock
the first half was actually really good but it got a bit creepy and rapey by the end
this was very nice and peaceful father and son always makes me cry
this was pretty good i liked the instrumentals i recognised a lot of them actually but i do think listening to a soundtrack without seeing the film makes it a little lacking
this was surprisingly decent but a bit overly theatrical especially the last couple of tracks
this was fine but forgettable
this was really good but there was definitely too much filler and idk how to feel about the orgy song i won’t lie
this was ok just some vaguely boring metal
Weather to fly was surprisingly decent but the majority of this truly was just Coldplay who I hate. It’s like they’re doing a bad Radiohead impression the whole way through.
this is literally perfect idk what else to say
jimi hendrix my guitar goat
This was good but not their best work idk why it’s on here instead of their self titled
i find this band lightly annoying
he’s so fucking annoying and making all of his songs ten minutes long makes them significantly worse
this was fine but im not sure malian guitar really does it for me
this style of music is to folk what metal is to punk. it sounds kind of similar but it’s a bit baseless and the lyrics are nonsense. it’s fine but it lacks substance
this is like a funny joke after my last review lol. i feel the same about metallica as i do about def leppard although to a lesser extent. it’s just commercial noise with no meaning or substance. metal is just apolitical punk. it’s shit.
This is a classic and it is good but a little bit samey. Also anything under thirty minutes should not count as an album
this was surprisingly good i had a great time
decent stuff but not particularly memorable. pavement is certainly ahead of their time though i always assume they’re 2010s not 90s
this was pretty good pj harvey is consistently great
this was good in the way where you know something is good but it doesn’t fully click. the back end bumped it up to four instead of three though.
this was pretty good but doesn’t live up to the more famous stuff. also as far as i can tell the white supremacy wasn’t reflected in the album itself but the knowledge of the thin white duke persona did have a slight effect on my enjoyment
This was decent but nothing special, again I liked the back half a lot more. Front half was a bit generic but the last few tracks were nice and calm
This was fine, it’s another one of those albums where I’m well aware it was groundbreaking at the time and is probably very good objectively but it just has no appeal to me for whatever reason
I was pleasantly surprised by this album as I often am. The production was very interesting
this was pretty good but not particularly interesting
this was very good far too long though (i suppose that’s to be expected of a double album but he could’ve cut some material)
this was very good some nice chill instrumentals
I didn’t really know what to expect with this album but it was a good time
another case of this is objectively excellent stuff but just not my taste. The covers were not her strongest work admittedly but she is a powerhouse
This was not bad i like Venus but nothing particularly stuck out to me. It’s some fun dramatic rock
they call him the greatest guitarist of all time for good reason
this is just excellent idk what to say
this was mostly enjoyable but the opening track bordered on bad
i was surprised by how much i enjoyed this actually well done dusty
i had low expectations due to only knowing love shack but this was actually a very good album
two dusty springfield albums in three days is too much. also not as good as the other one
again fine but i didn’t care about any of the songs at all
this was excellent miles davis is an enigma
not great but gets extra points for the title track and scotland forever
this was actually really good despite my feelings about soul. just cute
i call everyone my goat but these are my goats of the folk revival
i was pleasantly surprised by this album very good nice and chill and summery just a bit bloated
mid. points lost for wasting the sick band name that is dire straits
