Highway to Hell by AC/DC

Highway to Hell is an absolute banger but the rest of the album feels a little too samey, like it's just 10 highway to hells with different lyrics. 3/5

I enjoyed this when it was on and did save a few tracks to relisten to but I can’t really remember much about this after the fact 3.5

Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen

Hell yea This is probably what being American feels like 4

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Jan 06 2026

My sweet lord is a classic, instrumental tracks at the end were all nice. A few of the songs in the middle sort of blurred into one on only one listen through 3.5

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Jan 07 2026

Lots of Beatles/beach boy vibes Time of the season sounds like stand by me 3.5

Kid A by Radiohead
Jan 08 2026

Barely close second behind OK Computer Everything in its right place and idoteque are both 10s 4.5

Tapestry by Carole King
Jan 09 2026

Some classic songs you forget are all on the same album Very chill calm pop rock 4

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Jan 10 2026

Sultans of swing is crazy good Whole albums flows nicely 4

Time Out Of Mind by Bob Dylan
Jan 11 2026

Not sure how quick I will be to listen to this again, not that it’s boring I’m just not sure I get Bob Dylan. Didn’t realise “Make you feel my love” was originally a Dylan song and I did enjoy that, and “Standing in the doorway”. 3

Teenager Of The Year by Frank Black
Jan 12 2026

Nothing offensive about this but nothing all that special either. Nothing that makes me want to come back to this with any urgency. 2.5

Abbey Road by Beatles
Jan 13 2026

I mean yeah it’s a 5, so many classics Probably quicker to list the songs that aren’t a 10/10 (sun king, mean mr mustard, polythene Pam, her majesty) but that’s being pretty picky 5

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Jan 14 2026

feel like this probably inspired Sam Fender (keep the car running could totally be a Fender song if it was sung with a Geordie accent) and Wet Leg (less the singing/lyrics, but i felt like the guitar on a couple of the tracks (The Well and the Lighthouse) reminded me of moisturizer). all well made but i kinda feel like this is nothing really that special, none of the songs are drawing me in a lot and making me want to come back to this album, but i wouldnt complain if someone put it on. 3

Jan 15 2026

Kinda feel like brimful of Asha is the only particularly interesting song here, and the fatboy slim version is better 2

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Jan 16 2026

couple of corny lyrics but overall a really solid fun album make the bus just completely throws me though, did not enjoy that song highlights: dance or die, sir greendown, wondaland 4

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Jan 17 2026

instant 5, already heard this with the AM top 100 and have been back to it a few times since highlights: golden lady, dont you worry bout a thing 5

Ogden's Nut Gone Flake by Small Faces
Jan 18 2026

Really fucking weird, not necessarily in a bad way. First half is a normal album and then the second half is a musical narrated by a guy who is currently having a stroke. Really difficult to decide what I think about this album, not sure I’ll be back but it really was an experience. 3.5

Jan 19 2026

Nothing bad but nothing too notable either, not sure I could name a single song with it now off. Definitely good music to just have on in the background and I may come back to it for that reason Despite this I can understand why this album is on here and how influential this album was, but I’m rating these for my current feelings and enjoyment of it rather than impact it had and how “good” the album is 3

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 20 2026

Perhaps i judged you too harshly When i listened to this album for the AM top 100 list i ranked it at 73 on my personal list, which wasnt a great review. but i did kind of speed run it. its only 30 something minutes long so i blasted through my 3 required listens in under 2 hours driving home from a trip away in the van on a relatively low volume as to not wake jess who was asleep in the passenger seat. in doing so i missed a lot of the things that make the album great. obviously i know three little birds and one love are great and classic songs. but writings in vain and the heathen also have little bits to them you only notice when you concentrate and in my case use headphones. i particularly enjoyed the use of autotune on the title track. whilst the frequent religious lyrics dont do anything for me i can still appreciate the lyricism on this album whilst not a perfect match for my tastes i definitely enjoyed this album upon revisiting it more than a 73 so maybe i need to reconsider some of my AM rankings at some point 4

OK Computer by Radiohead
Jan 21 2026

i feel like i appreciate this album more and more every time i listen to it. ive enjoyed it every single time i listened from the get go but each time i listen to it again i find another song that im like yeah this is also a 10. listening to the remastered OKNOTOK also gives you additional B side tracks, i partiulcarly enjoyed I Promise, Man of War, polyethene and How I made my Millions 5

Ray Of Light by Madonna
Jan 22 2026

Holy snoozefest. Incredibly forgettable Frozens not bad, driving me crazy trying to think which song samples it, more or less the only thing compelling me to come back to this 1.5

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Jan 23 2026

yeah i mean its fine, its good music but its just jazz... as far as jazz goes it is pretty accessible, its not like 90 mins of random crap take five sounds great, but thats probably mostly because ive heard it a bunch before wouldnt be against putting this on just in the background or something if i had some particularly sophisticated people over but idk if im going to listen to it again myself 2.5

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Jan 24 2026

quite a depressing album really, Behind the Wall is kinda chilling. i have heard this album before and it is really good but i think outside of Fast Car theres a specific mood you need to be in to listen to this and thoroughly enjoy it. 3.5

Felt Mountain by Goldfrapp
Jan 25 2026

Really good, not had the time to give this the attention it deserves today so will definitely have to come back to this Hearing human come on and being the Kanye sample had me sitting up like Leo Highlights: lovely head, human, utopia 4 (but maybe higher on 2 more listens)

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Jan 26 2026

Just not for me, I can kinda get why it’s hear but just not my music End of the first track sounds like a lore accurate cover of what does the fox say 1.5

Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis
Jan 27 2026

More jazz, it’s “good” and I get why it’s on the list but it’s just not for me 2

Jan 28 2026

doesnt have the same pop feel that the music is "for everyone", feels like this is trying to make a deeper connection with a smaller subset of people that im not sure im one of. its all good music and i wouldnt complain going back to it but the most of the lyrics just dont really resonate with me. a little bit too much screaming on some songs maybe 2.5

Cross by Justice
Jan 29 2026

Basically just Daft Punk if they were French. And Good. The whole thing flows really nicely with transitions between songs happening seamlessly. I normally struggle to get into electronic music but I've thoroughly enjoyed this from the first listen. 4.5

Jan 30 2026

really beautiful renditions of some classic songs, i think his version of hurt is better than NiNs and im pretty on the fence of his vs the beatles of in my life second half of the album does fall off a little bit though 4

Blackstar by David Bowie
Jan 31 2026

was really looking forward to hearing this and it was absolutely nothing like what i was expecting. i loved it and each of the songs were growing on me more after each listen (aside from maybe sue) feel like this is what BCNR were trying to recreate with Ants from up there 4.5

Group Sex by Circle Jerks
Feb 01 2026

Yeah it was fine, I was expecting less tbh from the short track lengths. I thought nothing was going to be “fleshed out” enough but all of the songs get right into it and don’t waste a single beat Some entertaining stuff but not a lot that was particularly memorable 3

Songs The Lord Taught Us by The Cramps
Feb 02 2026

Didn’t really enjoy this and not really sure why it’s in here tbh, the vocals were kinda annoying. Kudos at least for making a song called I’m cramped given the context I guess though 1.5

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
Feb 03 2026

Really enjoyed this from the get go. I added this to my to listen to list even though I knew this was in here but I wanted to listen to it early so kinda funny it came up a few days later. Really lived up to the hype, will be back to this very soon 5

Stankonia by OutKast
Feb 04 2026

all of the tracks on here go crazy hard. obviously the well known hits slap but even the other tracks id not heard before are also great. few too many skits and interludes for my liking but think this was just a thing of the time this came out so i kinda feel like its maybe unfair to knock it down from a 5 just cause of this? outkast are really consistent its pretty nuts, kinda shocked aquemini isnt on this list tbh 5

Hms Fable by Shack
Feb 05 2026

one of the albums of all time for sure nothing offensive but very forgettable, really not sure why its on this list. sounds like a bunch of bad oasis songs but also if oasis were from liverpool #751 from 1999 on RYM is kinda hilarious, its struggling to make the 1001 albums from 1999 but its somehow on the 1001 albums list?? 2

Immigrés by Youssou N'Dour
Feb 06 2026

some nice tunes with some great riffs, im just not sure there enough to bring me back to this. i do kinda think that if this was in english it would be a lot more popular but as an ignorant english speaker this is less accessible to me 2.5

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Feb 07 2026

didnt hate it as much as i remembered hating it from the AM top 100, but still not sure how much i actually enjoyed it i think its just not my thing 2.5

American Idiot by Green Day
Feb 08 2026

Some proper bangers on here, I forget how many good songs are on this album. Without checking I would’ve said “American idiot” and “wake me up when September ends” but holiday, boulevard of broken dreams and Jesus of suburbia (I forget every time how long this song actually is lol) also all slap Second half definitely does fall off a bit though, after give me novocaine, September is like the only non forgettable song imo 4

Two Dancers by Wild Beasts
Feb 09 2026

Some good ideas in here that have all been executed in the most annoying way possible. When I’m sleepy… however was not one of those, that was an awful idea that was executed in the most annoying way possible. 2

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Feb 10 2026

really good, prefer this to neon bible from the first listen. i feel like im not normally one to notice when the "mixing is off" but i think the mixing on this isnt great? the vocals feel way to quiet on some songs? Probably not going to happen due to the controversies around the band but a remaster of this would be pretty epic Enjoyed how this flows as an album as well, it wasn’t every track but the transitions between a lot of tracks worked very well 4

Feb 11 2026

does feel like im listening to a musical sound track for a musical ive not heard before Do think that this could grow on me though, may have to come back it if this came to a theatre near me as a musical i would strongly consider going to see it... Highlights: title track, in the cage, carpet crawlers, it Lowlights: the waiting room 3

Pyromania by Def Leppard
Feb 12 2026

Nothing groundbreaking but nothing offensive either, sounds a lot like Metallica, not sure which came first 3

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Feb 13 2026

Eh 2

xx by The xx
Feb 14 2026

Need to give this another listen I think, could grow on me 3

Raw Like Sushi by Neneh Cherry
Feb 15 2026

Wasn't a fan. A lot of the lyrics sounded super dated and it just didn't click for me. 1.5/5

Haunted Dancehall by The Sabres Of Paradise
Feb 16 2026

Not for me. Liked some stuff on Wilmot and Tow Truck but all of the songs could be half the length they are. 1.5/5

The Doors by The Doors
Feb 17 2026

Had higher expectations going in. Some good songs — Light My Fire is a banger — but the lyrics are a bit bad overall and it drags on longer than necessary. The End is WAY too long. 3/5

Disintegration by The Cure
Feb 18 2026

Had pretty high expectations for this going in as it was quite high on my backlog and I had heard a few people hyping it up. Didn’t disappoint at all, a lot of the songs sound really similar but not in a bad way more that it just flows really well together 5

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Feb 19 2026

Highway to Hell is an absolute banger but the rest of the album feels a little too samey, like it's just 10 highway to hells with different lyrics. 3/5

Loveless by My Bloody Valentine
Feb 20 2026

Definitely sounds better with headphones on, listened in the car also and it just didnt hit the same. Not sure exactly what i was expecting with this, idk if this was it. Did really enjoy it, i think this could grow on me still also (4/5)

Feb 21 2026

Most of the songs are really great if you actually listen listen to them, but having them on in the background, a lot of the non bangers just sort of blur into the background. A lot of them feel like they have been playing for ages but when checking they are only like 4 minutes long. RYM reviews complain about Jamaica Jerk Off and Your Sister Can not Twist but did not think they were that bad. (3.5/5)

Feb 22 2026

Good and entertaining but did not do a whole lot for me. Had heard Ace of Spades before and it still slaps.

Feb 23 2026

Little too artsy I think, I think for the time I can see why it was popular but I think it’s trying too hard? Some of the songs just don’t need to be that long. But I did really enjoy most of the songs until I felt like they started dragging so this could maybe grow on me as well. Do feel like I need to deduct and entire point for Moonchild unfortunately 3.5

Illmatic by Nas
Feb 24 2026

Classic for a reason, the raps and flows on this are insanely good Some of the hooks let it down a little, like The World Is Yours becomes a little grating (4/5)

Different Class by Pulp
Feb 25 2026

Lyrics are fun, cheeky, and very sexual. Makes the listener feel like they're "fucking someone else's wife" (thematic vibes). Surprised, expected just another Britpop album but really enjoyed it. Easy listens throughout, even the unfamiliar tracks. (3.5/5)

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Feb 26 2026

really carried by the good songs, where is my mind is maybe a top 10 song ever and gigantic is a tune too. maybe i need to listen to this more but i felt the rest of the album was a little samey? felt pretty similar on the frank black album, maybe his stuff just isnt for me idk would probably rate this at least a point lower if it werent for where is my mind 3.5

The Next Day by David Bowie
Feb 27 2026

Not sure what I think of this, some strong songs on here like Valentine’s Day and the stars, but also some that are a little generic. Not sure there’s a lot that would bring me back to this. 3

Debut by Björk
Feb 28 2026

I feel pretty split on bjork, when I heard the homogenic album as part of the AM top 100 I really couldn’t decide if I actually liked it or not. I do really like her feature on Lux so I’m willing to give her another go (I imagine I’ll have to as there are presumably several of her albums on here) but I don’t think I like this as much as homogenic 2

Devotional Songs by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
Mar 01 2026

Yeah this is another scenario where I can appreciate the relevance and its place on the list but the music is just not for me. Nothing about this is bad per se but I just don’t get it and won’t be returning again (1/5)

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Mar 02 2026

Can’t decide if I actually like Joni Mitchell, I think some of the songs on here are truly beautiful, like all I want and river. But then others just sort of toe the line between being beautiful and a little irritating like my old man. I can also appreciate how influential it was though 3

Fragile by Yes
Mar 03 2026

Pretty sure putting a bunch of really good songs surrounded by some filler songs is actually a jojo reference 3.5

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Mar 04 2026

Did think meatloaf was a metal band so this was a bit of a surprise. This is quite theatrical, and I do recognise some of the songs already from my mum singing single lines from them lol 3

A Seat at the Table by Solange
Mar 05 2026

didnt really enjoy this on AM top 100 either, maybe the message is just missed on me but i just felt like this dragged a lot. I say this as someone who would actively describe themselves as "woke" but this kinda feels like its here because its "woke" and not because its a good album. i find the songs to be just a bit boring and dont really enjoy her voice that much 1/5

Night Life by Ray Price
Mar 06 2026

Nothing inherently wrong with this album, it was entertaining to listen to but not a lot drawing me back either. Pretty mid really 2.5

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Mar 07 2026

Can definitely tell that this is the leftovers from Kid A, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I did really enjoy kid A, definitely is a weaker album however but not by a lot Feels less "cinematic" than Kid A did and that there is more of a focus on the lyrics If this album is just kid B like a lot of people say, I'm surprised the Pyramids got left off the first release (4/5)

Live At Leeds by The Who
Mar 08 2026

Yeah this is a good fun album, possibly would've enjoyed it more actually hearing it live Only had the chance to give this one listen through so I might come back to it at some point 3

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Mar 09 2026

Not sure about this elvis album, was expecting more from the "king". Blue suede shoes is obviously a banger but everything else was a bit forgettable. Okay I actually really like blue moon. 2/5

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Mar 10 2026

Some absolute bangers on here, and some of the best love songs on here too. Do think some ( a lot) of the songs are a little too long, like there is a 5/5 album on here if like several of the songs are reduced by about a third lol 4

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Mar 11 2026

Just a bit generic and bland. I appreciate this may have been more influential and out there in the 70s but listening today it's just a bit boring 2

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Mar 12 2026

Real good vibe to vibe to whilst vibe coding. Apart from maybe when he starts freaking on the drums or synths which did kinda throw me out of the zone a bit when they happened 4

Mar 13 2026

Was kinda ready to write this one off after the first listen. Not a massive fan of fairytale of New York, I’m not sure I agree with “cancelling” songs for the language they used back when they were wrote but listening to a song with slurs in doesn’t feel right. I am glad I went for a second listen though the run from metropolis through fiesta was kinda peak. The broad majestic Shannon does sound like a non Christmas version of fairytale of New York 3

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Mar 14 2026

Yeah this was really fun, and I will be come back to this I think. The aqualung story does trail off a bit before the end but oh well. Really liked the flute solo on my god 4

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Mar 15 2026

Yeah this was fine, probably need to give it another listen. A bit of Sam fender vibes from it 3

Os Mutantes by Os Mutantes
Mar 16 2026

This is pretty experimental and sounds ahead of its time in a way that some of the Beatles albums do from this time. Some of the effects on here don't sound that special in today's music but I can't really think of many songs from the sixties that sound like this. Again think this would be more popular in general if it was in English 3

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Mar 17 2026

Think I was kinda disappointed in the this album from the AM top 100 and it's still not really clicking for me now either. I still think cash's version of hurt is better. 3

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Mar 18 2026

This was fun, all the songs are pretty groovy. I think I enjoyed this more than the elvis album. But it's not really my sort of music and I'm not sure I'll be coming back to it 2.5

Rid Of Me by PJ Harvey
Mar 19 2026

I feel like this could grow on me but at the same time there is not a lot drawing me back to listen again? It is quite samey all the way through Maybe I need to give it a proper relisten and actually give it my full attention rather than listening whilst working 3

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Mar 20 2026

I'm not sure there is a song I despise more than Proud Mary. I have heard it so many times covered by crappy karaoke level performers when I worked at the Tory club in Hexham when I was 18, literally every single Saturday night someone else would come and play it. The original version is easily the best version of this song and is actually listenable, way better than whoever has the popular cover of it. Some good songs on here too also, graveyard train drags a bit, keep on chooglin was nice 3

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Mar 21 2026

Don't stop, rock with you, and off the wall all slap pretty hard, rest of the album is a vibe but nothing too crazy either 3.5

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Mar 23 2026

I think I've definitely come round to not disliking the smiths anymore but there really wasn't much here that I particularly liked either. Whining man now whines about being a vegan also 3

Movies by Holger Czukay
Mar 25 2026

Pretty mid ngl, it's not BAD but idk about have to listen to before you die. Persian love is nice but maybe a bit long which really says something given that it's the 2nd shortest song on the album 2

Meat Puppets II by Meat Puppets
Mar 26 2026

certainly one of the albums of all time, pretty mid also. kinda reminded me of the modest mouse album in that this guy cant really sing either lol 2.5

Nothing's Shocking by Jane's Addiction
Mar 27 2026

Feel like I could probably have copy and pasted yesterday’s review again, maybe a little better but still quite noisy and edgy and the guy can’t really sing 3

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Mar 28 2026

Yeah some good tunes on this, got the toe tappin. Pretty similar to the last one 3

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
Mar 29 2026

Not the vibe for running 100k. Some okay songs on here but the piano solos were pissing me off 2

Rattlesnakes by Lloyd Cole And The Commotions
Mar 30 2026

Yeah this is pretty pleasant, not a lot stood out though, maybe with another listen or two I might change my mind 3

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Mar 31 2026

Overall a strong album with some nice tracks on it and no particularly weak tracks but also nothing that stand out either. I did particularly enjoy Offend in every way and I think I smell a rat. I might have to give this one another go in a bit 3.5

Treasure by Cocteau Twins
Apr 01 2026

I was a little nervous that this wasn’t going to live up to heaven or Las Vegas but this is pretty much exactly what I was hoping for from another Cocteau twins album, and really makes me want to just go and listen to the rest of their albums. Just full of that weird dream like sound, accompanied by almost minion-esque lyrics that still manage to just work. Like if you genuinely told me the lead singer was a minion I’d just be like “yeah that tracks” Could easily see this being bumped up after I’ve listened a few more times 4.5

Apr 02 2026

Does not sound like an album from the 60s at all, I had Jess guess what year she thought this came out in and she said 2008 I feel like this has a lot of things about it that should make me really like it but I just didn’t? It kind of has a similar vibe to like maybe the Joni Mitchell album, but a little more jazzy/soulful maybe, but none of the songs quite hit the same. 2.5

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Apr 03 2026

I think the idea of bob dylan is possibly always going to be better than actually listening to bob dylan. This album checks a lot of boxes that i would’ve thought would make it a really strong album for me but there’s something about the cryptic nasally vocals that just doesn’t quite hit. I’d heard this 3 times for the AM top 100 already so I was familiar with the songs and did enjoy most of them but I just don’t rate it as highly as everyone else seems to 3.5

Low by David Bowie
Apr 04 2026

Definitely better than alladin sane Some really good fun pop tracks on the first half of this, somehow I’d not heard sound and vision before but that slaps. The second, more ambient/instrumental side didn’t really land as well for me though 3.5

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Apr 05 2026

Bit of a funky vibe, could totally see myself putting this on at one of my dinner parties. Definitely think the funkier, danceable jazz/jazz fusion is more for me than the more classical/avant garde stuff

Raw Power by The Stooges
Apr 06 2026

Fine, was pretty uneventful but wasn't offensive or anything either. Nothing here that makes me want to come running back any time soon. (2.5/5)

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme by Simon & Garfunkel
Apr 07 2026

Yeah this was nice, I’d heard the first track already quite a few times and nothing else. Was consistently good all the way through. A simple desultory philipic sounds like a bob dylan song. Not really sure how I felt about the silent night rendition, probably a skip for me for any other non December listens 4

Joan Baez by Joan Baez
Apr 08 2026

Some beautiful vocals with some incredible story telling. Kind of crazy to think this was recorded and wrote by a 19 year old. Does stay a bit samey however, and the magic wears off a little by the second half Have had DONER DONER DONER stuck in my head all day 3

Our Aim Is To Satisfy by Red Snapper
Apr 09 2026

Some of the lyrics on this one were a little wild just out of nowhere Wasn’t bad but also wasn’t that special, maybe if I’d had a chance to get an additional listen in I might have liked it more 2.5

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Apr 10 2026

Classic for a reason, the 3 track run of thriller into beat it into billie jean is up there with the best. I think the girl is mine is overhated and is better than a few other songs on here 4.5

Transformer by Lou Reed
Apr 11 2026

Heard perfect day like 100 times already, and walk on the wild side is obvs a tune The rest of the album could grow on me but doesn’t seem anything all that special either 3.5

S&M by Metallica
Apr 12 2026

Hell yea 4

Apr 13 2026

Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Apr 14 2026

Another double album is killing me rn There was some good stuff on here and again I think I’ll probably have to come back and listen to the whole thing again properly to actually enjoy it. O children was probably my fav off of a single listen 3

Done By The Forces Of Nature by Jungle Brothers
Apr 15 2026

Funky, what U waitin 4 does something to me man Most of the beats on this had me dancing 4

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Apr 16 2026

I really enjoyed the sound of this album which—like all other (one) cure albums I’ve listened to—had a pretty consistent sound throughout all of the tracks It wasn’t as good as disintegration but it was really strong still and I don’t think there were any songs I disliked, the intro could maybe be a skip however 3.5

Shadowland by k.d. lang
Apr 17 2026

Uneventful and a bit boring but not like bad or anything, just felt like 14 renditions of basically the same song. Not really sure why it’s on here 2

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Apr 18 2026

Hell yea Kinda front loaded but any album with war pigs, paranoid and iron man as tracks 1,2&4 will be Really not what I expected black sabbath to be, I had always thought it would be much much heavier and that I wouldn’t like it but this is awesome 4.5

American Pie by Don McLean
Apr 19 2026

Vincent was good and so was American pie (obvs) but I didn’t have enough time yesterday to give this a proper go so will have to come back to it 3

Odessa by Bee Gees
Apr 20 2026

Sounded a bit like a Beatles/Bowie crossover to start, and then more of a we have the Beatles at home situation. Really not what I was expecting, was continuously waiting for staying alive to come on 2

The Bends by Radiohead
Apr 21 2026

Didn’t appreciate this enough when I first listened to it but coming back to it now it’s all started clicking properly Still kinda nuts that this is the same band that made pablo honey not that long before 4.5

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Apr 22 2026

All very fun and playful but most of it is missing like any substance, will probably be back to some of this however as there are a few catchy tunes Coconut is a bop sadly 3.5

Oedipus Schmoedipus by Barry Adamson
Apr 23 2026

Started off strong with a pulp feature but went downhill quick after that

Out of Step by Minor Threat
Apr 24 2026

Pretty forgettable, didn’t not enjoy it or anything I just can’t remember any of the songs 2.5

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Apr 25 2026

Some good stuff on here but it was a bit of a slog to get through 3

Wild Gift by X
Apr 26 2026

More entertaining than a lot of the punk albums on this list already but still not really doing that much for me. Does make me want to maybe come back to this one which a lot of the previous ones haven’t 3.5

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Apr 27 2026

Hell yea Heard it before, will listen again. Not their best but still some absolute bangers on here 4

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Apr 28 2026

Definitely overhated, but I can kinda see why A lot of good songs on here that got my head bopping straight away, but this album is a bit of a slog. I probably could’ve been temped to give this a 4 if it ended after Under the Bridge 3.5

Apr 29 2026

I enjoyed this when it was on and did save a few tracks to relisten to but I can’t really remember much about this after the fact 3.5

Vauxhall And I by Morrissey
Apr 30 2026

More jangle slop Nothing interesting really happened ngl 2

Shaka Zulu by Ladysmith Black Mambazo
May 01 2026

More like Nah-capella am I right? 2

B-52's by The B-52's
May 02 2026

Felt like I could of enjoyed this if there lyrics were better and the singers could sing, the vocals just felt like a bit of a novelty throughout the album I’ve also clearly never heard the full 7 min version of Rock Lobster 1.5

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
May 03 2026

Some interesting stuff, didn’t get the chance to listen properly though more than once though so will have to come back Passenger is a tune though

May 04 2026

I had this on cd when I was younger but didn’t really listen to it that much Didn’t dislike anything on here other than the 12 minute outro lol Kick push is a banger 4

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
May 05 2026

Is good but it definitely drops off after paint it black I did also listen to the US version so probably need to go back and listen to the correct one at some point 3.5

Fear and Whiskey by Mekons
May 06 2026

Truly peculiar at time but I think if I give this a couple of extra listens I’ll really like this There were several songs that I really vibed with off of the first listen 4

Happy Sad by Tim Buckley
May 07 2026

Not only does this sound like Jeff’s granddads son a lot he also looks like him too Definitely not as good however, some of the longer songs on this really drag, but it is kinda chill for in the background maybe 3

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
May 08 2026

A good chunk of this was quite interesting and catchy but there were a few songs that didn’t really go anywhere and just dragged a bit Listening to this has probably made me more interested in listening to breakfast in America though 3.5

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
May 09 2026

Really really nice and chill, wanted to give this a proper 3 listens through as I really liked the first album of his I listened to (Either or) so I had this on a few time since getting this album, and it’s been perfect just to have on as background music whilst we’ve been eating/playing board games, but also to listen to with the headphones on whilst I walk the dog. Will definitely be coming back to this 4.5

Buffalo Springfield Again by Buffalo Springfield
May 10 2026

A few highlights on here, I liked how the last song changed, but not a lot happened that was all that interesting 3

Ritual De Lo Habitual by Jane's Addiction
May 11 2026

Just kinda loud and drones on a bit, wasn’t much all that interesting here. The guy can’t really sing either 2

Elephant by The White Stripes
May 12 2026

Hell yea Seven nation army is obviously up there for one of the best songs ever but there a loads of bangers on here I’d not heard before like Black Math 4

May 13 2026

Yeehaw! Really loved the first track, and whilst I didn’t necessarily relate to a lot of the lyrics on the other tracks (mostly the Christianity one), this was pretty much the perfect album to listen to whilst parked up in the van on a dirt track in the middle of nowhere 4

Something/Anything? by Todd Rundgren
May 14 2026

Pretty mid ngl, don’t really feel like this went anywhere or did much thought the hour and a half it was on. Didn’t have time for multiple listens (due to the runtime) so may have missed something, but I’m not racing back to this 2.5

Fun House by The Stooges
May 15 2026

Really don’t get the stooges hype Got through most of this thinking it was kinda iight but the last track is crazy bad 2.5

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
May 16 2026

Didn’t enjoy this as much as the previous album from them but it wasn’t bad by any means. Did just sort of blend into the background on a long driving day 3

It's Too Late to Stop Now by Van Morrison
May 17 2026

This was fine, there wasn’t anything bad on here but dear god was it a slog to get through I already knew bring it on home and I just want to make love to you but wow was it annoying how he kept ruining the hook for the chorus 2.5

Music Has The Right To Children by Boards of Canada
May 18 2026

Just not my type of music, I tried but there’s just nothing here that particularly interested me. I thought Roygbqpgv was going to be alright when it started but it just sort of fizzled into nothing 1.5

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
May 19 2026

Just some pretty classic rock ramble on, heartbreaker and whole lotta love all slap, although I’m not a fan of the middle bit of whole lotta love, or the drum solo on moby dick 3.5

Pictures At An Exhibition by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
May 20 2026

NEWCASTLE MENTIONED PART 4 This was really weird, but not like it a good way, more of a this was a bit of a chore to get through way. I almost enjoyed the great gates of Kiev but they kinda ruined it. Nutrocker was pretty good though, even though I wasn’t actually going home 2

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
May 21 2026

Hell yea Remember this reasonably well from the AM top 100. The three classic GNR songs off this obvs slap but there’s a bunch of other great tracks here too

25 by Adele
May 22 2026

Overhated, far from her best album but no where near as bad as RYM would have you believe. Hello really takes me back to a simpler time when that was the most popular meme format Second half is a lot less interesting however

Is This It by The Strokes
May 23 2026

Can’t believe I got to stroke it on my birthday This albums just incredible, it’s what initially got me in to the strokes, and whilst it isn’t my favourite album of theirs it will always mean something special It’s just banger after banger from as soon as is this it comes on 5

The Coral by The Coral
May 24 2026

Pretty odd at times but I could feel it growing on me as I did quite like a few songs Did think Dreaming of you was actually going to be love cats and I’d just somehow horribly misread the track listing 3.5

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
May 25 2026

Starts off pretty strong, even the first few songs after message in a bottle, but it doesn’t really go anywhere and all ends up sounding pretty samey 3.5

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
May 26 2026

Pretty wild to discover that duke Ellington is in fact not just a horrible caricature from that awful Big Mouth show But at the end of the day this is still jazz, and I’m still not loving it 2

Pump by Aerosmith
May 27 2026

AC/DC if they were just a bit more boring Legging can’t remember a single song and I listened to it yesterday 2.5

The New Tango by Astor Piazzolla
May 28 2026

I had to turn this off whilst I was driving as it almost put me to sleep which would’ve been very unsafe Just not my thing 1.5

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
May 29 2026

The only valid complaint I will listen to about this album is the daft long song titles 5

Parachutes by Coldplay
May 30 2026

If this exact album was released by a band called coldhead or radioplay, it would be a 3.98 on RYM 4

Inspiration Information by Shuggie Otis
May 31 2026

It was iight, I quite liked Aht Uh Mi Hed but a lot of the rest of it all blended into one 3

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans

Jun 04 2026

All Directions by The Temptations
Jun 06 2026

Opus Dei by Laibach
Jun 07 2026

Felt like I might be able to get into this walking through this Swiss town listening to the first track in the pissing rain but this sound got a little old quite quickly 2

Moving Pictures by Rush
Jun 08 2026

I didn’t not enjoy any of this or anything but it just didn’t feel particularly impactful or memorable either 3

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Jun 09 2026

Yeah obviously it’s a five I used to think this was overrated and didn’t see why people liked it so much, I thought Fantano giving it a ten was crazy and that damn was much better than this But after coming back to it again properly a couple of years ago I now see the light 5

Faith by George Michael
Jun 10 2026

Very enjoyable album but I do feel some of the songs last a bit longer than they should and don’t really go anywhere 3.5

The Rolling Stones by The Rolling Stones
Jun 11 2026

This somehow sounds even older than it actually is Nothing bad on here, other than maybe king bee, but nothing that makes me want to register either, pretty mid 2.5

Sound Affects by The Jam
Jun 12 2026

Actually really good, some catchy stuff on here I wasn’t expecting to like but I ended up like saving half of the songs Will be back 4

Having a thom yorke feature on your album that is basically just a thom yorke song, and also have it be the best song on the album is certainly a choice I did enjoy this more than the last PJ album that came up on the list 3.5

Jun 14 2026

Definitely feels a little fitting listening to a song about hating fast cars whilst driving a van down the motorway 15mph under the speed limit It was enjoyable, but not that enjoyable 3

Miriam Makeba by Miriam Makeba
Jun 15 2026

Very beautiful, but I’m almost certainly not going to come back to it sadly 2

Jun 17 2026

Jun 18 2026

Not bad or anything but not super interesting either though Multiple 7 min songs should be illegal China girl was nice though 3

Whatever by Aimee Mann
Jun 19 2026

Title was pretty much how I felt about this. Maybe I need to give it another chance but it didn’t feel like much happened 3

Heroes by David Bowie
Jun 20 2026

Feel like this deserves at least a 4 just off the title track, but some of the lyric less songs really do try to drag that down 4

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Jun 22 2026

I think this is a bit overrated, it’s not bad or anything, it’s all very enjoyable but I don’t think it’s as special as it’s made out to be Also, how tf are you going to have a song called “Save the Children” and then impregnate your 16 year old niece? Like you’re the one they need saving from bro 3.5

Jun 23 2026

Raw and weird collection of country adjacent rock songs that sometimes gets a little too weird but almost always makes up for it Jesus etc is a damn near perfect song 4

Jun 24 2026

Very beautiful, maybe a little dated sounding but still quite nice 3.5

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Jun 26 2026

Jul 02 2026

Started off strong, pretty beautiful singing and song writing. But it didn’t really do much for me or go anywhere 2.5

Country Life by Roxy Music
Jul 03 2026

Album cover is pretty epic sigma mode Feel like the songs are trying to follow the recipe that made a lot of Bowie songs great but doesn’t quite have all the right ingredients 3

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Jul 04 2026

The title track is a bit of a bop but idk who is actually asking for the rest of this album 2

Bitte Orca by Dirty Projectors
Jul 05 2026

Atrocious vocals, it felt like the guitars and drums were not playing in time of each other on most tracks I’d be annoyed if I went to see some crappy band playing at my local pub on a Sunday night for free played this bad, no clue how this is on this list 1

Among The Living by Anthrax
Jul 06 2026

Pretty certain the title track is temu leper messiah This was fine, nothing exciting that makes me want to listen to it again 3

Revolver by Beatles
Jul 07 2026

Not their best imo but still a crazy good collection of songs let down by only a couple Idk if it’s just my upbringing around a scouse parent and some scouse family but Yellow Submarine is scream along to worthy so I don’t understand the hate that gets Here there and everywhere is in contention for best Beatles song for me, and got to get you into my life is also incredible 4.5

Personally for me not as good as her debut but still full of bangers I’d already heard and also some great songs that were new to me 4

Not as good as pink moon but still pretty good, had a load of these songs stuck in my head for days after listening to this 3.5

For Your Pleasure by Roxy Music
Jul 22 2026

Not sure I get art rock all that much, the title track was okay but the rest just was a bit eh 2.5

Jul 23 2026

Fine, that era of punk music where the song is just pick a title and then scream the title over and over as a chorus for every song 2

Fever To Tell by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Jul 24 2026

Feel like this is a bit all over the place, Maps is obviously a banger and one of the best songs ever, but everything else on here feels and sounds completely different 3

Horses by Patti Smith
Jul 25 2026

Some good songs on here, but I kinda feel like a lot of them are ruined by trying to be a bit too arty… I definitely enjoyed this more than when I listened to it for the AM top 100 albums It takes a lot to deserve a 10 minute song and I don’t think this meets the criteria, let alone for 2 of them… 2.5

American Gothic by David Ackles
Jul 26 2026

Very theatrical, felt like the album for a musical I hadn’t heard before that didn’t have a connected storyline 2

Talk Talk Talk by The Psychedelic Furs
Jul 27 2026

Probably the punk album I have enjoyed the most off of this list, the singers voice is a little odd but theres a funkiness/jazziness to this I like 3.5

2112 by Rush
Jul 28 2026

Some good stuff on here, not sure I understand the point of having a 20 min long medley rather just the 5 songs be their own thing 3

Jul 29 2026

Jul 30 2026

Still don’t understand the hype around this album, it’s fine 3

Aug 01 2026

Pretty sure I’ve heard the first track before Another one where I think I could really get into this after a few more listens 3.5

Aug 03 2026

Not got as many catchy songs on it as blue does but still some nice song writing in here Struggle to say I like her stuff as much now I know about the black face and racism though… 3

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Aug 04 2026

Enjoyed the beginning of this but it dragged a bit imo, idk if the non live ones are more concise but some of the longer tracks are a bit daunting lmao, I literally had my jaw drop when I thought I was on the last track and then another 23 minute song came on 2.5

The Score by Fugees
Aug 05 2026

Heard several of the tracks on here already but even the ones I hadn’t heard slapped, still not loving the skits and outros on these 90s rap albums but not enough to make this down much 4
