My sweet lord is a classic, instrumental tracks at the end were all nice. A few of the songs in the middle sort of blurred into one on only one listen through 3.5

Lots of Beatles/beach boy vibes Time of the season sounds like stand by me 3.5

Barely close second behind OK Computer Everything in its right place and idoteque are both 10s 4.5

Not sure how quick I will be to listen to this again, not that it’s boring I’m just not sure I get Bob Dylan. Didn’t realise “Make you feel my love” was originally a Dylan song and I did enjoy that, and “Standing in the doorway”. 3

Nothing offensive about this but nothing all that special either. Nothing that makes me want to come back to this with any urgency. 2.5

I mean yeah it’s a 5, so many classics Probably quicker to list the songs that aren’t a 10/10 (sun king, mean mr mustard, polythene Pam, her majesty) but that’s being pretty picky 5

feel like this probably inspired Sam Fender (keep the car running could totally be a Fender song if it was sung with a Geordie accent) and Wet Leg (less the singing/lyrics, but i felt like the guitar on a couple of the tracks (The Well and the Lighthouse) reminded me of moisturizer). all well made but i kinda feel like this is nothing really that special, none of the songs are drawing me in a lot and making me want to come back to this album, but i wouldnt complain if someone put it on. 3

Kinda feel like brimful of Asha is the only particularly interesting song here, and the fatboy slim version is better 2

couple of corny lyrics but overall a really solid fun album make the bus just completely throws me though, did not enjoy that song highlights: dance or die, sir greendown, wondaland 4

instant 5, already heard this with the AM top 100 and have been back to it a few times since highlights: golden lady, dont you worry bout a thing 5

Really fucking weird, not necessarily in a bad way. First half is a normal album and then the second half is a musical narrated by a guy who is currently having a stroke. Really difficult to decide what I think about this album, not sure I’ll be back but it really was an experience. 3.5

Nothing bad but nothing too notable either, not sure I could name a single song with it now off. Definitely good music to just have on in the background and I may come back to it for that reason Despite this I can understand why this album is on here and how influential this album was, but I’m rating these for my current feelings and enjoyment of it rather than impact it had and how “good” the album is 3

Perhaps i judged you too harshly When i listened to this album for the AM top 100 list i ranked it at 73 on my personal list, which wasnt a great review. but i did kind of speed run it. its only 30 something minutes long so i blasted through my 3 required listens in under 2 hours driving home from a trip away in the van on a relatively low volume as to not wake jess who was asleep in the passenger seat. in doing so i missed a lot of the things that make the album great. obviously i know three little birds and one love are great and classic songs. but writings in vain and the heathen also have little bits to them you only notice when you concentrate and in my case use headphones. i particularly enjoyed the use of autotune on the title track. whilst the frequent religious lyrics dont do anything for me i can still appreciate the lyricism on this album whilst not a perfect match for my tastes i definitely enjoyed this album upon revisiting it more than a 73 so maybe i need to reconsider some of my AM rankings at some point 4

i feel like i appreciate this album more and more every time i listen to it. ive enjoyed it every single time i listened from the get go but each time i listen to it again i find another song that im like yeah this is also a 10. listening to the remastered OKNOTOK also gives you additional B side tracks, i partiulcarly enjoyed I Promise, Man of War, polyethene and How I made my Millions 5

Holy snoozefest. Incredibly forgettable Frozens not bad, driving me crazy trying to think which song samples it, more or less the only thing compelling me to come back to this 1.5

yeah i mean its fine, its good music but its just jazz... as far as jazz goes it is pretty accessible, its not like 90 mins of random crap take five sounds great, but thats probably mostly because ive heard it a bunch before wouldnt be against putting this on just in the background or something if i had some particularly sophisticated people over but idk if im going to listen to it again myself 2.5

quite a depressing album really, Behind the Wall is kinda chilling. i have heard this album before and it is really good but i think outside of Fast Car theres a specific mood you need to be in to listen to this and thoroughly enjoy it. 3.5

Really good, not had the time to give this the attention it deserves today so will definitely have to come back to this Hearing human come on and being the Kanye sample had me sitting up like Leo Highlights: lovely head, human, utopia 4 (but maybe higher on 2 more listens)

doesnt have the same pop feel that the music is "for everyone", feels like this is trying to make a deeper connection with a smaller subset of people that im not sure im one of. its all good music and i wouldnt complain going back to it but the most of the lyrics just dont really resonate with me. a little bit too much screaming on some songs maybe 2.5

Basically just Daft Punk if they were French. And Good. The whole thing flows really nicely with transitions between songs happening seamlessly. I normally struggle to get into electronic music but I've thoroughly enjoyed this from the first listen. 4.5

really beautiful renditions of some classic songs, i think his version of hurt is better than NiNs and im pretty on the fence of his vs the beatles of in my life second half of the album does fall off a little bit though 4

was really looking forward to hearing this and it was absolutely nothing like what i was expecting. i loved it and each of the songs were growing on me more after each listen (aside from maybe sue) feel like this is what BCNR were trying to recreate with Ants from up there 4.5

Yeah it was fine, I was expecting less tbh from the short track lengths. I thought nothing was going to be “fleshed out” enough but all of the songs get right into it and don’t waste a single beat Some entertaining stuff but not a lot that was particularly memorable 3

Didn’t really enjoy this and not really sure why it’s in here tbh, the vocals were kinda annoying. Kudos at least for making a song called I’m cramped given the context I guess though 1.5

Really enjoyed this from the get go. I added this to my to listen to list even though I knew this was in here but I wanted to listen to it early so kinda funny it came up a few days later. Really lived up to the hype, will be back to this very soon 5

all of the tracks on here go crazy hard. obviously the well known hits slap but even the other tracks id not heard before are also great. few too many skits and interludes for my liking but think this was just a thing of the time this came out so i kinda feel like its maybe unfair to knock it down from a 5 just cause of this? outkast are really consistent its pretty nuts, kinda shocked aquemini isnt on this list tbh 5

one of the albums of all time for sure nothing offensive but very forgettable, really not sure why its on this list. sounds like a bunch of bad oasis songs but also if oasis were from liverpool #751 from 1999 on RYM is kinda hilarious, its struggling to make the 1001 albums from 1999 but its somehow on the 1001 albums list?? 2

some nice tunes with some great riffs, im just not sure there enough to bring me back to this. i do kinda think that if this was in english it would be a lot more popular but as an ignorant english speaker this is less accessible to me 2.5

didnt hate it as much as i remembered hating it from the AM top 100, but still not sure how much i actually enjoyed it i think its just not my thing 2.5

Some proper bangers on here, I forget how many good songs are on this album. Without checking I would’ve said “American idiot” and “wake me up when September ends” but holiday, boulevard of broken dreams and Jesus of suburbia (I forget every time how long this song actually is lol) also all slap Second half definitely does fall off a bit though, after give me novocaine, September is like the only non forgettable song imo 4

Some good ideas in here that have all been executed in the most annoying way possible. When I’m sleepy… however was not one of those, that was an awful idea that was executed in the most annoying way possible. 2

really good, prefer this to neon bible from the first listen. i feel like im not normally one to notice when the "mixing is off" but i think the mixing on this isnt great? the vocals feel way to quiet on some songs? Probably not going to happen due to the controversies around the band but a remaster of this would be pretty epic Enjoyed how this flows as an album as well, it wasn’t every track but the transitions between a lot of tracks worked very well 4

does feel like im listening to a musical sound track for a musical ive not heard before Do think that this could grow on me though, may have to come back it if this came to a theatre near me as a musical i would strongly consider going to see it... Highlights: title track, in the cage, carpet crawlers, it Lowlights: the waiting room 3

Had higher expectations going in. Some good songs — Light My Fire is a banger — but the lyrics are a bit bad overall and it drags on longer than necessary. The End is WAY too long. 3/5

Had pretty high expectations for this going in as it was quite high on my backlog and I had heard a few people hyping it up. Didn’t disappoint at all, a lot of the songs sound really similar but not in a bad way more that it just flows really well together 5

Highway to Hell is an absolute banger but the rest of the album feels a little too samey, like it's just 10 highway to hells with different lyrics. 3/5

Definitely sounds better with headphones on, listened in the car also and it just didnt hit the same. Not sure exactly what i was expecting with this, idk if this was it. Did really enjoy it, i think this could grow on me still also (4/5)

Most of the songs are really great if you actually listen listen to them, but having them on in the background, a lot of the non bangers just sort of blur into the background. A lot of them feel like they have been playing for ages but when checking they are only like 4 minutes long. RYM reviews complain about Jamaica Jerk Off and Your Sister Can not Twist but did not think they were that bad. (3.5/5)

Good and entertaining but did not do a whole lot for me. Had heard Ace of Spades before and it still slaps.

Little too artsy I think, I think for the time I can see why it was popular but I think it’s trying too hard? Some of the songs just don’t need to be that long. But I did really enjoy most of the songs until I felt like they started dragging so this could maybe grow on me as well. Do feel like I need to deduct and entire point for Moonchild unfortunately 3.5

Classic for a reason, the raps and flows on this are insanely good Some of the hooks let it down a little, like The World Is Yours becomes a little grating (4/5)

Lyrics are fun, cheeky, and very sexual. Makes the listener feel like they're "fucking someone else's wife" (thematic vibes). Surprised, expected just another Britpop album but really enjoyed it. Easy listens throughout, even the unfamiliar tracks. (3.5/5)

really carried by the good songs, where is my mind is maybe a top 10 song ever and gigantic is a tune too. maybe i need to listen to this more but i felt the rest of the album was a little samey? felt pretty similar on the frank black album, maybe his stuff just isnt for me idk would probably rate this at least a point lower if it werent for where is my mind 3.5

Not sure what I think of this, some strong songs on here like Valentine’s Day and the stars, but also some that are a little generic. Not sure there’s a lot that would bring me back to this. 3

I feel pretty split on bjork, when I heard the homogenic album as part of the AM top 100 I really couldn’t decide if I actually liked it or not. I do really like her feature on Lux so I’m willing to give her another go (I imagine I’ll have to as there are presumably several of her albums on here) but I don’t think I like this as much as homogenic 2

Yeah this is another scenario where I can appreciate the relevance and its place on the list but the music is just not for me. Nothing about this is bad per se but I just don’t get it and won’t be returning again (1/5)

Can’t decide if I actually like Joni Mitchell, I think some of the songs on here are truly beautiful, like all I want and river. But then others just sort of toe the line between being beautiful and a little irritating like my old man. I can also appreciate how influential it was though 3

Pretty sure putting a bunch of really good songs surrounded by some filler songs is actually a jojo reference 3.5

Did think meatloaf was a metal band so this was a bit of a surprise. This is quite theatrical, and I do recognise some of the songs already from my mum singing single lines from them lol 3

didnt really enjoy this on AM top 100 either, maybe the message is just missed on me but i just felt like this dragged a lot. I say this as someone who would actively describe themselves as "woke" but this kinda feels like its here because its "woke" and not because its a good album. i find the songs to be just a bit boring and dont really enjoy her voice that much 1/5

Nothing inherently wrong with this album, it was entertaining to listen to but not a lot drawing me back either. Pretty mid really 2.5

Can definitely tell that this is the leftovers from Kid A, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I did really enjoy kid A, definitely is a weaker album however but not by a lot Feels less "cinematic" than Kid A did and that there is more of a focus on the lyrics If this album is just kid B like a lot of people say, I'm surprised the Pyramids got left off the first release (4/5)

Not sure about this elvis album, was expecting more from the "king". Blue suede shoes is obviously a banger but everything else was a bit forgettable. Okay I actually really like blue moon. 2/5

Was kinda ready to write this one off after the first listen. Not a massive fan of fairytale of New York, I’m not sure I agree with “cancelling” songs for the language they used back when they were wrote but listening to a song with slurs in doesn’t feel right. I am glad I went for a second listen though the run from metropolis through fiesta was kinda peak. The broad majestic Shannon does sound like a non Christmas version of fairytale of New York 3

Yeah this was really fun, and I will be come back to this I think. The aqualung story does trail off a bit before the end but oh well. Really liked the flute solo on my god 4

This is pretty experimental and sounds ahead of its time in a way that some of the Beatles albums do from this time. Some of the effects on here don't sound that special in today's music but I can't really think of many songs from the sixties that sound like this. Again think this would be more popular in general if it was in English 3

Think I was kinda disappointed in the this album from the AM top 100 and it's still not really clicking for me now either. I still think cash's version of hurt is better. 3

This was fun, all the songs are pretty groovy. I think I enjoyed this more than the elvis album. But it's not really my sort of music and I'm not sure I'll be coming back to it 2.5

I'm not sure there is a song I despise more than Proud Mary. I have heard it so many times covered by crappy karaoke level performers when I worked at the Tory club in Hexham when I was 18, literally every single Saturday night someone else would come and play it. The original version is easily the best version of this song and is actually listenable, way better than whoever has the popular cover of it. Some good songs on here too also, graveyard train drags a bit, keep on chooglin was nice 3

Don't stop, rock with you, and off the wall all slap pretty hard, rest of the album is a vibe but nothing too crazy either 3.5

I was a little nervous that this wasn’t going to live up to heaven or Las Vegas but this is pretty much exactly what I was hoping for from another Cocteau twins album, and really makes me want to just go and listen to the rest of their albums. Just full of that weird dream like sound, accompanied by almost minion-esque lyrics that still manage to just work. Like if you genuinely told me the lead singer was a minion I’d just be like “yeah that tracks” Could easily see this being bumped up after I’ve listened a few more times 4.5

Does not sound like an album from the 60s at all, I had Jess guess what year she thought this came out in and she said 2008 I feel like this has a lot of things about it that should make me really like it but I just didn’t? It kind of has a similar vibe to like maybe the Joni Mitchell album, but a little more jazzy/soulful maybe, but none of the songs quite hit the same. 2.5

I think the idea of bob dylan is possibly always going to be better than actually listening to bob dylan. This album checks a lot of boxes that i would’ve thought would make it a really strong album for me but there’s something about the cryptic nasally vocals that just doesn’t quite hit. I’d heard this 3 times for the AM top 100 already so I was familiar with the songs and did enjoy most of them but I just don’t rate it as highly as everyone else seems to 3.5

Definitely better than alladin sane Some really good fun pop tracks on the first half of this, somehow I’d not heard sound and vision before but that slaps. The second, more ambient/instrumental side didn’t really land as well for me though 3.5

Bit of a funky vibe, could totally see myself putting this on at one of my dinner parties. Definitely think the funkier, danceable jazz/jazz fusion is more for me than the more classical/avant garde stuff

Yeah this was nice, I’d heard the first track already quite a few times and nothing else. Was consistently good all the way through. A simple desultory philipic sounds like a bob dylan song. Not really sure how I felt about the silent night rendition, probably a skip for me for any other non December listens 4

Some beautiful vocals with some incredible story telling. Kind of crazy to think this was recorded and wrote by a 19 year old. Does stay a bit samey however, and the magic wears off a little by the second half Have had DONER DONER DONER stuck in my head all day 3

I really enjoyed the sound of this album which—like all other (one) cure albums I’ve listened to—had a pretty consistent sound throughout all of the tracks It wasn’t as good as disintegration but it was really strong still and I don’t think there were any songs I disliked, the intro could maybe be a skip however 3.5

Uneventful and a bit boring but not like bad or anything, just felt like 14 renditions of basically the same song. Not really sure why it’s on here 2

Hell yea Kinda front loaded but any album with war pigs, paranoid and iron man as tracks 1,2&4 will be Really not what I expected black sabbath to be, I had always thought it would be much much heavier and that I wouldn’t like it but this is awesome 4.5

Sounded a bit like a Beatles/Bowie crossover to start, and then more of a we have the Beatles at home situation. Really not what I was expecting, was continuously waiting for staying alive to come on 2

Really really nice and chill, wanted to give this a proper 3 listens through as I really liked the first album of his I listened to (Either or) so I had this on a few time since getting this album, and it’s been perfect just to have on as background music whilst we’ve been eating/playing board games, but also to listen to with the headphones on whilst I walk the dog. Will definitely be coming back to this 4.5

Yeehaw! Really loved the first track, and whilst I didn’t necessarily relate to a lot of the lyrics on the other tracks (mostly the Christianity one), this was pretty much the perfect album to listen to whilst parked up in the van on a dirt track in the middle of nowhere 4

This was fine, there wasn’t anything bad on here but dear god was it a slog to get through I already knew bring it on home and I just want to make love to you but wow was it annoying how he kept ruining the hook for the chorus 2.5

Just not my type of music, I tried but there’s just nothing here that particularly interested me. I thought Roygbqpgv was going to be alright when it started but it just sort of fizzled into nothing 1.5

Just some pretty classic rock ramble on, heartbreaker and whole lotta love all slap, although I’m not a fan of the middle bit of whole lotta love, or the drum solo on moby dick 3.5

NEWCASTLE MENTIONED PART 4 This was really weird, but not like it a good way, more of a this was a bit of a chore to get through way. I almost enjoyed the great gates of Kiev but they kinda ruined it. Nutrocker was pretty good though, even though I wasn’t actually going home 2

Hell yea Remember this reasonably well from the AM top 100. The three classic GNR songs off this obvs slap but there’s a bunch of other great tracks here too

Overhated, far from her best album but no where near as bad as RYM would have you believe. Hello really takes me back to a simpler time when that was the most popular meme format Second half is a lot less interesting however

Can’t believe I got to stroke it on my birthday This albums just incredible, it’s what initially got me in to the strokes, and whilst it isn’t my favourite album of theirs it will always mean something special It’s just banger after banger from as soon as is this it comes on 5

Pretty odd at times but I could feel it growing on me as I did quite like a few songs Did think Dreaming of you was actually going to be love cats and I’d just somehow horribly misread the track listing 3.5

Starts off pretty strong, even the first few songs after message in a bottle, but it doesn’t really go anywhere and all ends up sounding pretty samey 3.5

Pretty wild to discover that duke Ellington is in fact not just a horrible caricature from that awful Big Mouth show But at the end of the day this is still jazz, and I’m still not loving it 2

AC/DC if they were just a bit more boring Legging can’t remember a single song and I listened to it yesterday 2.5

It was iight, I quite liked Aht Uh Mi Hed but a lot of the rest of it all blended into one 3

Having a thom yorke feature on your album that is basically just a thom yorke song, and also have it be the best song on the album is certainly a choice I did enjoy this more than the last PJ album that came up on the list 3.5

Definitely feels a little fitting listening to a song about hating fast cars whilst driving a van down the motorway 15mph under the speed limit It was enjoyable, but not that enjoyable 3
