EH, some good stuff but I don't see it as ground-breaking like some seem to feel.

This is an absolute classic top to bottom.

Definitely some great songs on here and I know many people think this great, but to me some of the stuff is filler. Or maybe better to say I can take it or leave it.

Some say it's the best album ever.

They're very good at what they do and it's very enjoyable.

Wonderful stuff, they’re in a genre of their own un many ways.

Not for me.

Do I even need to rate this one? I'm not a big Springsteen person, but this is lightning in a bottle.

Superlative.

This may have been the first time I listened to this all the way through. Pretty ok to good. Not Quite my cup of tea though.

It's got a lot of elements I love (horns, funk with the rock groove) but just doesn't come together into something I love.

Stevie was at the top and this album is one of the tops, so tops of the tops.

Good, I can see why at the time it would have been a classic, cult or otherwise. Like other Prefab Sprout I've listened to I found I liked it but didn't need to repeat.

A decent proto-country rock album of its time.

I liked their early stuff and then mostly fell out of touch before this one. Nice.

I'm not sure I had ever heard this all of the way through. Giving it 4 instead of 5 since if it wasn't Bowie I'm not sure I would have been quite as enthusiastic but I can seem myself returning to this one.

Not for me but I can see the appeal for some.

Peak Jon Brion and very enjoyable.

I like all of the parts but it just doesn't add up to as much as I want. Really between a 3 and a 4 for me.

Somewhat a nostalgic rating in that I heard this in both of my parents' households growing up, it also captures a certain sense of California that I felt growing up in the state.

5 for musicality, 1 for personality.

Four mostly for nostalgic fun.
