Menevää punk-rokkia 1978. Kuriositeettina mainittakoon, että levyn avaavassa Fast Cars -biisissä lausutaan useampaan otteeseen "Fast Cars!" mielestäni hyvin samaan tapaan kuin Agent Orangen Bloodstains -biisissä (1980), mutta ainakaan googlen ensimmäiset hakutulokset eivät paljastaneet tieteellistä yhteyttä näiden kahden välille.

I have never heard of these people and there is a reason why. Just bad rock and roll. I hate it.

Like the instrumentals, but couldn’t handle the singer’s voice

“Another Music in a Different Kitchen” by Buzzcocks (1978) Never heard this album or group. There’s a lot wrong with this album. Lead vocals barely carry the cookie cutter melodies, performed (and I use that term loosely) with a tone that repels. Drums fail to maintain tempo, and bass is robotic. Guitar work is on the lower end of the garage spectrum. Lyrics are adolescent, with numerous errors in grammar, syntax, and usage. This is not intelligent music. I can imagine that some young and very inexperienced ears were attracted to the ‘rebelliousness’ of the sound and marketing, so this album might be nostalgic for some, but when those listeners are dead, this ‘music’ will be too. 1/5

This is probably my least favorite punk record so far on the list. in that I like it but I don't immediately love it. The soundscape overall is very tinny and scratchy.

Never really was a punk in the 70s. More of a David Essex fan! Nevertheless was surprised how much I enjoyed the nostalgia. Reminded me of Sixth Form parties when I really started defying authority. I think I missed two whole lectures! Always loved I Am An Antichrist by the Sex Pistols from their Never Mind The Bollocks album. Mainly because Paddy Lewis liked it in my A level History class and I fancied him!

Above average early punk for me. More melodic. Song structure. Understandable lyrics. I get it.

Never listened to this band all that much, but I feel kind of weird about the fact I really preferred some of the extra tracks on the extended version I listened to than the main tracks that make up the original sequencing. And, I mean, that nevvvvver happens. Usually those songs don’t make the cut for a reason, right? But “Orgasm Addict,” “What Do I Get?” and “Oh Shit,” are all pretty awesome. Favorite track overall though is “Sixteen.” Hands down. Otherwise, this is really a record that made me further realize that like 98% of all classic punk is really just sped up distorted pop songs.

Recuerdo haber tenido un par de canciones de los Buzzcocks en días perdidos de Napster. Siempre me gustaron sus canciones se sentían con bastante energía y mejor realizadas que mucho punk. Honestamente, aunque me gustó esperaba más del disco; sobre todo la primera mitad medio desinfla. No sé por qué... es el tipo de punk que me normalmente me gusta más. Quizá en este caso en disco completo llegan a sonar demasiado iguales a ratos y se pierde un poco, quizá es mejor banda de sencillos que de álbumes. La segunda mitad del disco es mucho mejor y toso se empieza a mezclar más. Me gustó en especial Autonomy y me encantó Moving Away from the Pulse Beat, que aparte de ser una canción de punk de 7 minutos tiene quizá de los mejores y más originales trabajos de batería y guitarra del género. Entiendo que este sea el debut, pero incluso sin conocer a fondo la discografía se que les he escuchado mejor material. Al menos sí es disfrutable. Una anécdota simpática… ¿Se acuerdan de Sister Ray? Esa canción de Velvet Undergound que hablaba de una historia de drag queens teniendo una orgía fallida mientras la banda toca un improvisado de diecisiete minutos en torno a tres acordes. Los Buzzcocks se formaron porque a los integrantes les mamaba esa canción.

Unfortunately this was a bit boring. It is certainly a time from punks origins, but it sounds like a watered-down Sex Pistols and the songs aren't very interesting and the vocals aren't angry enough.

Disco de punk standard, bien ejecutado y sin complicaciones. De los discos de punk que han salido, el que más me ha gustado. 3 estrellas, sin saber si es sólido 3 o 3.5 que baja, al final no hace diferencia pero es un muy buen disco.

The more I listened to this album the more I enjoyed it. It could be the soundtrack to a John Waters film.

No, not doing this again

Boy you just didn’t need much musical ability to make Brit punk. Only the last track was interesting to me. The rest you can literally skip to any point in any track and it sounds the same. Not for me.

Another reminder that punk was around for a long time.

a ton of songs that are only 2ish minutes long which i really like because rly complements the fast-paced, energetic punk rock genre so you just get spurts of different songs to rock out to, but they all kinda mesh together

Este disco tiene una vibra parecida a la de Sex Pistols, pero tres rayitas menos anarquista, y me atrevería a decir que en algunas canciones es como escuchar a los Arctic Monkeys regresando en el tiempo a los 70's. Creo que lo que más me sorprendió es la enorme discografía de este grupo, del que no conocía su existencia hasta que escuché este disco. Supongo que es un grupo muy local. En cuanto a la parte musical, si bien no me desagradó, tampoco me prendió tanto. La canción que más me agradó fue "Moving away from the pulsebeat" por las percusiones, pero si no volviera a escuchar este disco nunca más en la vida no me perdería de mucho.

No pareciera que fuera de los 70's, se escucha muy fresco y potente. No baja de intensidad y te mantiene a tope como todo buen punk Punk punk de la vieja escuela

Otro disco de Punk pero sin las historias alocadas de los Sex Pistols o la influencia posterior que tuvieron otros. En general lo sentí como un montón de canciones olvidables y tal vez solo un poco entretenidas.

Ihan menevää peruspunkrockia. Voisi toimia livenä hyvin jollain hämyisellä klubilla, mutta levyltä jättää snadisti kylmäksi. Soundeista tulee kovasti mieleen Supergrass tuoreemmista bändeistä. Peruskolmonen.

Grunge...

70s punk is known for being angry and anarchic, but I have always found Buzzcocks to be so full of joy. This is ridiculously uplifting, they sound as though they are having so much fun and that is always infectious. This album is relentless, it doesn't stop for breath all the way through, and it leaves me with a big smile on my face. Good stuff.

Pure punk, not my style, but I appreciate it.

I've said it before: punk is very hit and miss with me. This one is a miss, unfortunately. 1 star.

Buzzcocks summed up the mission statement of punk right in the exact middle of this album: "I hate modern music/Disco, boogie, pop/They go on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on/How I wish they would stop." This shit rocks. Best track: Sixteen

I like my classic punk rock but this one seems kind of tame decades later. Still respectable.
