This album makes me cringe. It’s clearly hyper-edgy to sell. The rhymes and beats are fantastic, Dre and Em are masters of this genre. But the content is too brutal. Sorry, cannot relate...
Classic album. From the sampled Misty Mountain Hop all the way through, every song holds some 30 years later. I'm old enough to remember this album coming out and remember how groundbreaking it was, still is. What a contrast to yesterday's Eminem. Such better innovation, edgy lyrics without hate and threats. Thank you, Beasties, for bringing me back to why we love music!!
Great album! Unmistakable sound. Judy Blue Eyes is obviously the best track.
Just started listening to Nick Drake more closely. Enjoyed this a great deal, really like his voice and guitar.
Great album, feels very raw and early Bruce. It’s no Nebraska. I love Badlands and the first half of the album, but it kind of falls off after that.
Where to begin with this... I can start by saying I let out an involuntary sigh and "ugh" while I heard the first few keys of "Beautiful Day" which would be the only song I make it through. Only lasted about 30sec into "Stuck in a moment..." "Elevation" is embarassing and to be honest I can't remember much else. Maybe "New York" is closest to any kind of decent U2 that I can recall.
This is SO disappointing as a HUGE U2 fan. I grew up on Unforgettable Fire, Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby and more. Heck, I'll even take Discotechque or the entire Pop album over this mess. U2 seems like they bought the farm in 2000 and isn't looking back. Which is a shame, but I'll still jam to anything prior to this album, any day...
I think I fell asleep about 3 tracks in.
I liked the music, but wasn’t fond of the lead vocalist or the lyrics.
I guess I don't get this. I do like Ambient music on the whole, but don't really get this. I also admire Brian Eno for work he's done elsewhere. But this just sounds like somebody randomly hitting piano keys intermittently. Why? Should I be doing drugs or something?
This is a good album, I've been lucky to hear it before. It's very raw and the guitar is borderline awful (hey, PJ IS a vocalist first), but I could listen to PJ's voice all day. The follow-up album, To Bring You My Love, however, will always remain in my top 10 favorite all time.
Excellent modern blues and chill vibe. Lyrics are fantastic, music consistent. Love Nick Cave!
Classic album. If you're driving in your car and Living Loving Maid comes on and you DON'T crank it to the edge of blowing your speakers, I'm not sure you're human. Great songs throughout!!
Good jazz, dance, rhythm and brass section. Almost avoided because Ginger Baker is a douche, but glad I gave a listen. Will look into more Fela.
Classic album, start to finish. Elvis raw as ever and about to start killing it in his career!
10 stars!! Billie Holiday is no doubt my favorite voice. Ever since I was a child and her records put me to sleep. Classic album, Lady in Satin is the best thing I’ve heard so far on this album trip!!
It’s fine. I like the Black Keys in small doses. Great musicianship and songwriting.
It was fine. I liked the strangeness, but Tim’s vocals were folky.
I mean it's fine. I find it kind of folksy (again) but more entertaining than yesterday. Very average.
Hard Pass. Not even remotely interested in this album/style/artist/etc...
Good album, classic songs and songwriting.
I did give it a listen, it was fine.
Great album, classic sound and songwriting by U2. Always a great listen and takes me back to when it was released. Still holds up as great album years later.
Good album, possibly the last good before Aerosmith starting making songs that all sound the same (1990's). I remember listening to this as a teen and digging the sound a great deal. Good album, start to finish.
Good album. Great voice. Like a David Gilmour solo album with Marianne on vocals.
Yessssss!!! Excellent album!
In my top 10, already. An absolute classic album!!
Couldn’t really get into this, every song seemed the same and the music was pretty boring.
It’s fine. Private Dancer and What’s Love Got To Do With It are the best songs. Tina’s voice is amazing, but the sound/music doesn’t really seem to age well.
This is the most 80s album I’ve heard in a while...
Love, love, love this album! I can’t get enough of Chrissie Hynde’s voice!
Love this album and glad I only recently discovered it!
Good album, especially after listening to the Pretenders the other day. I like Its Blitz more than their first album.
I’ve hear The Fall, but never a full album. I like this a lot and needed to hear it, I think! Reminds me of Bad Religion in some ways.
It’s fine. The Weight is the star, but the rest of the album is pure 60’s hippie rock. Can’t hate or love it.
Oh shit!!! Yassssssssssssss
Good album, I like the Kinks. Very 60’s era sounding.
Much like the Velvet Underground, I guess I just don't get this style of music. It sounds like a group of musicians, sitting around in a garage plucking and screwing around while somebody hit the record button. Maybe that's the point? Lyrics are ho-hum. I guess I really just crave more structure to a song (or at least a hook)! I'm not getting anything and while I understand there's people who like this "style" of music and will call this a classic, I can't even make it through 4 songs.
Great album, classic songs!
Classic, defining funk sound!! Good album!
Great album! Think I like this better than Breakfast in America!!
Classic. Probably the best Van Halen record.
This album was fine, I appreciate the musicianship, but not really my taste.
This was ok. I flipped the light the tracks and gave a quick listen. Again, not really my jam, but ok music.
Great! I mean I had hesitation even though I know their hits. Will listen again!
I like this a lot. Music sounds familiar and I swear I’ve heard this album before, good to listen to again!
Fantastic classic sound, music and especially lyrics by The Who.
Instant classic album. Timeless songs.
I’m glad I gave this a shot. I’ve heard a song or two by DBT but never a full album. Guitar sounds great, awesome musicianship!
Very good album, classic Santana songs.
This is a fantastic album by Neil Young! I hadn't listened to it and glad I did. Great songwriting, singing and guitar!
Love, love, love this album. One of my favorites by Bjork and have listened to it for decades.
It’s no Fear Of A Black Planet, but still a great album by PE.
No denying their sound, Time of the Season makes this album a must. That song alone personifies the 60’s. Great classic album
Not my style, but an interesting listen
This is the most boring music/album I’ve ever listened to…
Classic sound and great songs start to finish.
Almost disco like! Enjoyed this a great deal
Kinda boring. Songs are ok and like the sound but super boring and dreary tunes
Not remotely interested even if it’s a good listen
Haunting final album by Bowie
Eh, it’s fine I guess. For one song
Kinda boring. I like some music by the Byrds, but not much on this album…
Sorry, this put me to sleep
Not even remotely interesting to me. Sorry. This is awful music and trying to hard
Eh, i like it but it kind of didn’t hold up after 4 tracks
Surprised how much I liked this!!
Liked this more than I thought I would!!
I mean, do I really have to say why this is a classic?
I mean, do I really have to say why this is a classic?

Check Your Head will always be my favorite, but this is a damn close second!
Love this album. Never would have found or looked for this if it wasn’t for this project!! Thank you!!
Couldn’t make it through two tracks
Wow this was incredibly boring
Great album!! Awesome hooks
Hard to beat this classic!! Until you listen to Rubber Soul…
Not a Dylan fan, tried so much to make it work but I can’t. Sorry
Not really my thing, but still listened
I like it, but Countdown to Extinction is still my fave
Meh, too pop for me. I can understand the appeal but it’s just not for me
Meh, again too pop for me.
This was a fantastic album! So surprised how much I enjoyed George Jones and all of these songs had me engaged!
This is crazy timing. A buddy asked me which I liked more, Paranoid or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. I gotta go with SBS, but it’s damn close. This is a classic!
This was interesting. Not exactly what I thought, but glad to have listened. Good hooks and singing. But it did kind of wear thin about 4-5 songs in…
Excellent album, highly recommended! The writing and lyrics here are unmatched.
It’s a chill album and I’d never heard this before. Will I listen again? Not sure, probably not but I’m not regretting the time I spent with Fairport Convention
I got so tired of this so fast. Sorry, not interested in this probably because it was played to death on radio, tv, movies and pop culture in general forever
Liked this a lot! Did not know about Calexico and this left me hungry for more! Very good sound, lyrics are solid and it keeps getting better song after song
Classic, her voice sends chills and is unmistakable
Lots of ballads, but two good stand out songs with Fever and Such a Night. Good stuff by the King!
Not even remotely into this album. Has the 60’s organ, but they aren’t The Who or The Doors
It’s fine. I enjoyed the songs but it got a little tedious and lengthy. Song lyrics are tepid, but music is pretty crisp and tight
One of my personal favorites by Beck. You can hear the heartbreak he’s going through and sets a great tone throughout the album. Hard to find a bad song on this, but here’s a tip: Listen to this and then Morning Phase on a long car ride.
Kind of weird, but enjoyable.
I needed this album! So full of soul ans rebellion, but amazingly smooth and infectious. A classic for me no doubt!
Classic, one of my faves by U2
Eh. It’s fine but the best part is percussion and I think I’m in the minority but Stings voice is a grind after a while. 1-2 songs ok, but after that it’s like nails on a chalkboard
Classic Stones, their sound is great on this album and hard to discern the bluesy differences between the Stones and Beatles this early
I like Graceland a lot better, but this album is good as well.
This was a nice surprise! A lot of bleeps and bloops, reminiscent of early electronic/alternative. But I enjoyed the songs, very catch!
This is tough. Under the right circumstances, this album works great. But otherwise it’s kind of the same jam for the length with some highlights and low points. I like it but wouldn’t add to rotation.
A classic. Arguably the best RHCP work, I’ve listened to this more times start to finish than I can count.
I enjoyed the beats and bass on this album. It was a good background noise album
Wow! I loved this!! Never heard of this artist and was totally surprised!!
A classic. Opened the world for Living Colour and I still listen to this all the time, possibly only bested by Times Up, the next release
WTH is this? My ears are bleeding…
I’m kind of shocked to admit that I liked this as much as I did. The songs are simple and easy rhythms. Lyrics are great and voice is good. All in all nothing too stellar but I’ll listen to this over and over going forward!!
Great live album. Have to say the “drum solo” sounds more like he’s warming up and tuning the drums than performing. Just had to put that out there as a listening note
A classic. Song after song of catchy hits with insanely good guitar riffs and solos. Lars reigns it in on drums, great songwriting across the board.
I like the idea and Biorks vocals, but the pure poppiness runs a little dry after a while.
A classic. This lives in my top 5 albums of all time, where it belongs. The beats, infectious. The humor, nonstop. The writing and structure, timeless. I’ve literally listened to this everyday on a long afternoon walk for a month straight just to see if I pick up something new.
