First of all, the Spotify version (from his son) is way different than the original which you can find on YouTube.
The original is quitte nice. It has this calm over it that is very relaxing. Not something I will listen to a lot, but for one time it was good.

Some cool stuff in this album. But mainly instrumental and weird. He is trying to make something different and that he achieved.

Kraftwerk

I knew Kraftwerk only from name and that they were revolutionary in their time. For the 70’s I can imagine this was something new.
Autobahn the song is very long but in some way I keep listening. After that the album dies out and gets boring for me.

As I read in the comments it’s either you hate Coldplay or you love them. Still I am somewhere in between. The way the music is composed is great and I can understand why people love it and see the quality. But it doesn’t get to me, the album is good some also individual songs are great. It got better when I listened the album again so I will give it 4 stars as 3.5 is not possible.
Favourite songs
- Yellow

The Smiths
4/5
Heard a lot about the Smiths, but never listened an album. I was not disappointed! Great sound, love his voice. Sometimes a little bit repetitive, but overall a great album.

Catchy but also with a message. Not completely my type of music, but for one album it’s nice. Sex machine was not necessary for me, sounded more like a jam session.
Favourite songs:
- Stand
- Don’t call me nigger, whitey
- Everyday people
Neil Young & Crazy Horse

Pink Floyd
5/5
Legendary. Can’t explain why but this album is just amazing. It has so many weird sounds and voices in it but it intriges me.

The Magnetic Fields
3/5
2.5/5
I admire the idea of this project, but it’s just too much. One album of 3 hours long.. I enjoyed it more than I thought and almost finished the whole album. Some songs are quitte good, but I don’t remember the titles because there were so many. Is they just chose 16 songs this albums would be getting a higher rating.
Favourite song:
- Book of love
The Triffids
2/5
Nothing special, just an standard soft rock album. I think they are not so bad, but all the songs are just mediocre. Not special enough to be on the list in my opinion.
Favourite song:

The song purple rain is truly a masterpiece, the album was for me less good than expected. When doves cry is another great songs, but the other ones didn’t get to me. Overall I enjoyed it, but my expectations were higher.
Favourite songs:
- When dives cry
- Purple rain
David Bowie
2/5
David Bowie is without a doubt a legendary artist and he should be in the list of 1001 best albums. Not sure if this is the album that should be in here..
The production is great, the songs are not. They don’t get to me.
Faust
3/5
Long and a lot of instrumental parts, but for some reason I kept listening. The songs could be somewhat shorter for me. Overall I enjoyed it and have to listen to this one again.
Favourite song :
- Giggy smile
John Lee Hooker
3/5
3.5/5
Loved it ! First album of John Lee Hooker I listened to ever. The variety in the songs is not very big, but for some reason it doesn’t matter. Every song has its own thing and I just kept listening. I have to listen to it again to find my favourites on this album.
Mudhoney
3/5
This is a nice change in music style compared the the previous albums I got. Some great songs to put the volume up and scream along. The whole album was decent, might have to listen to it again for a better opinion.

- Sweet young thing ain’t sweet no more
Barry Adamson
2/5

Favourite songs:
- Superstition
- Blame it on the sun
- I believe (when I fall in love with you it will be forever)
The Who
3/5

The music is great, just don’t understand why there are live albums in this list.
King Crimson
4/5
Unexpected but very good ! This is what you can call an album. The songs on their own are good but together as an album they are even better. Sometimes songs of 10 minutes get boring but in this case they keep it interesting and I liked every minute of it. Normally I would write down my favourite songs, but this album should be listened as a whole.
Run-D.M.C.
2/5
2.5/5
Sometimes I can appreciate hiphop and/or rap, but most of the times it doesn’t do it for me. For this album it’s the same, although their style is unique and I can imagine they inspired a lot of artists. Not bad to listen to for one time, but I don’t need to try it a second time.
Stevie Wonder
5/5
Masterpiece! 1 hour and 45 minutes of pure class. Everything in this album is amazing, his voice, the production, the lyrics. I was already a small fan of his work but never took the time for the full album.
It is hard to pick favourite songs, there are many worth mentioning but I will pick 3.
Favourite songs:
- Sir Duke
- Isn’t she lovely
- As
Brian Eno
1/5
The title already says it.. Music for airports.. I mean, the music is calm and relaxing and may be great for studying or as background music. But this is a list for the best albums and I think there are thousands of albums that deserve the spot of this album.
Parliament

What the funk! Not a genre I would dive into quickly, but this album is nice!

3.5/5
It’s nice to have some variation in genre and music in this list. This was an album where I didn’t know what to expect, but I liked it. Could have gone both ways.
The songs are short and that makes them actually good. Sounds like they just make what they want and don’t bother to fit in.
Favourite songs:
- In my mind
- Liberty for our friend
- Some things
The La's
3/5

Coldplay
4/5

Favourite songs:
- The prisoner
- Run to the hills

B.B. King
3/5
As I said about previous live albums, not a fan. It’s great when you know the artist or if you were at the concert. But if not, I prefer a studio album.
Still he is a legend and the music is great.
George Michael
4/5
Such a great voice this man has!
The album is quitte good, it’s starts off great with faith and father figure. I want your sex is not his best work but okay, after that it gets better again. When I am in the mood for this kind of music I will try some of his other albums.

Favourite songs:
- The way you make me feel
- Liberian girl
- Man in the mirror

This album contains a lot of, let’s call it “noise”. I don’t mind a little bit, but on this one it’s too much and disturbing. It was hard for me to get through this album. The only positive thing about this one is Hurt. Just so Johnny Cash could cover it.

2.5/5
Easy going album. Nothing special but also can’t say anything bad about it.
Jimmy Smith
3/5
Good to listen to something different for a change. Loved the first song. After that it was okay. Can’t listen to a full album. In the background it’s great. Can’t deny that it’s musically very good
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
4/5
Before I was not the biggest fan of nick cave. I think I rated one album before. But I start to like it more and more. This is a fantastic album. It’s very long and not all the songs are as good, but still there are so many good songs on it. Hard to choose some favourites.
Favourite songs:
- Get ready for love
- There she goes my beautiful world
- Breathless
Bob Dylan
4/5
Love his storytelling in the songs. Especially in Bob Dylan’s 115th dream, this whole bullshit story makes a great song. Mr tambourine man is just a masterpiece and the rest of the album is solid.
Favourite songs:
- On the road again
- Bob Dylan’s 115th dream
- Mr. Tambourine man
4/5
Great album! Lot of variety in the songs. Love the songwriting and the message in some of the songs. Easy to listen to album.
Favourite songs:
- Victoria
- Yes sir, no sir
- Drivin’
Tricky
2/5
First song was okay-ish. Not my genre. Very repetitive, so gets boring over time. Maybe as background music.
Eagles
4/5
3.5/5
Hotel California (the song) is an absolute masterpiece. The rest of the album doesn’t matter anymore. Even after hearing it so many times it still stays top class.
The rest of the album is just solid.
Favourite songs:
- Hotel California
- The last resort
Sepultura
1/5
I don’t mind some metal once in a while. But this was a bit too much screaming and just a lot of noise.
Kanye West
4/5
It’s hard to review this album with everything this man has said and done.
Even though this was all before that.
I never understood the hype around him, after listening to this album it makes a little bit more sense. Just based on the music it’s very good, also for not big rap fans. Still it’s hard to listen to him.
Because this is a music platform I’ll give the rating just based on the music.
Eminem
4/5
For me Eminem is unique in his genre. I like the way he plays with the words and raps about heavy themes. Some songs are a bit too dark. The collabs with some other rappers weren’t necessary, but overall a great album.
It’s hard to choose some favourites because it feels like an album where the songs are connected and even tough some songs are great on its own, they are part of the whole album story.
Black Sabbath
3/5
Iconic band with a decent album. Revolutionary for their time i guess. First time listening a full album and wasn’t disappointed.
Favourite songs:
- Paranoid
- Iron man
The Last Shadow Puppets
4/5
3.75/5
This is a hard one to rate. Big fan of Alex turner and especially the arctic monkeys, so I was of course very excited when this one came on the list, since I only listened to it once some time ago.
I like the sound and feel of the album, but still it feels like something is missing. Still I keep listening, enjoying it and hearing different things every time.
No favourite song because nothing really stood out but together it works quitte well.
Garbage
3/5
After a variety of genres finally a rocks album which I never heard of before.
I was excited about this one and it didn’t disappoint. It’s not too special or groundbreaking, but a good and steady album.
Favourite songs:
- Supervixen
- Dog new tricks
The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy
2/5
Feels like he has a lot to say and he did. Not my taste. I don’t mind the political themes, just make it a bit more exciting instead of making it sound like a long monologue over a beat. At the end of the album there were some better songs, still it couldn’t save it.
Khaled
3/5
2.5/5
Pleasantly surprised by this album. Not an album I would buy or listen to in my free time, but it does put a smile on my face. First Arabic album I ever listened to. It has a lot of variety, from more classic Arabic to pop and almost electronic music.
I forgive him for ruining imagine, because the rest of the album was good.
Favourite song:
- Ya Aachkou
Elton John
3/5
2.5/5
I like Elton John and Tiny Dancer is a wonderful song. But the rest didn’t cut it for me. I can’t say it’s bad or that I hated it. It just felt un cohesive and all a bit the same. Not the worst album in this list, but I was expecting a bit better from him.
The Who
3/5
Easy listening album, the songs are simple but good. It doesn’t blow you away but is a nice change of style from nowadays’ music.
Favourite songs:
- Out in the street
- The good’s gone
- My generation
Pet Shop Boys
2/5
I don’t know what to say about this. This part of the 80’s music doesn’t have my preference. There is some okay songs, but also a few really bad ones, like “shopping”.. what the hell was that. I think albums like these were essential for inspiration and developing music. Maybe even creating different genres, but apart from a few songs, this is not for me.
Favourite song:
- It’s a sin
Thin Lizzy
3/5
Good album, would have preferred a studio album because the live version doesn’t add anything apart from fans clapping and a few words.
Favourite songs:
- Rosalie
- The boys are back in town
Lauryn Hill
2/5
Not bad, but not my genre.
The Stooges
3/5
2.5/5
The start of the album was good, it got worse when they started screaming and putting random noises in the songs.
Favourite song:
- Loose
a-ha
2/5
I can almost copy paste my review from the pet shop boys album I rated recently. This new wave synth pop is okay for 1 or 2 songs but that’s it. Take on me is a banger, after that it gets worse and worse.
Favourite song:
- Take on me
OutKast
3/5
Before this album I only knew OutKast from their two hits. I was pleasantly surprised by this album. It’s a double album and it also feels like two different albums, probably why they chose two names. I liked “The Love Below” more. The interludes are funny but sometimes also distracting, overall a good album and one to revisit one day.
Favourite songs:
- The way you move
- Spread
- Hey Ya!
Steely Dan
3/5
2.5/5
Jazzy rock, good on the back ground. Nothing too special but certainly not bad.
Not much to say about other than I enjoyed it.
