Run-D.M.C.
Run-D.M.C.Classic rap. This album is interesting when compared to modern albums. This is so measured and methodic with the delivery. You can definitely tell that rap has evolved since 1984.

Definitely one of the best albums I have listened to since starting this daily project. Strong alternative album rooted in blues. Some great songs on this album. Jack White makes his guitar sound like it is from another planet. Great album
So I listened to this when I was at work. It was catchy, and classic. It reminded me of some of he earlier works that I was exposed to when I took a class titled "The History of American Jazz" in the early 90's. Realistically this is not my genre of music....but this album was interesting to get through. 3
Got the full album experience while doing data sorts at work. I am familiary with Radiohead but this was not what I was expecting. Really did not impress me. It just was there. I would probably not listen again.
This came out when I was in high school. This was circulating around with my friends while my playlist was experimenting with hip hop, rap, and hard rock and metal. It was a nice visit down memory lane during my Junior year. Orange Crush and Stand are the two stars in this album.
A fun romp through a famous album. Brought back lots of memories of listening to that album on my portable record player in my basement growing up…trying to scratch like a rap DJ. You can’t get more classic Beatles than this one.
Was just as I remembered from the 80's. Still didn't move me much. This album was heavy on the instruments and very few lyrics. Early in their evolution as a band, this album didn't move the needle for me.
Some good musicianship going on throughout. I lived through the Disco era so I remember the music....and I really don't want to go back. This is a good album for nostalgia, but the music is pretty simplistic with the lyrics....and complex with the music. They do like saying "freak" and "chic". Now please go back to the 70's where you belong.
An album I know well. This was a part of the soundtrack of my youth. You weren't cool unless you listened to Simon and the crew. This was one of my favorites....and you can find this in regular rotation in all of my play lists. Wow what a great album.
Very surprised that I had not heard of this band. The album is full of angst and anger. I can see how this was a pioneering album in the punk movement.
I remember when this album came out. Catchy tunes from a unique personality. Great album that gave us at least 4 hits. Cant tell you how many times I listened to this album while working the Sunday morning shift at KRFS.
Talk about wash, rinse, repeat. I gave this one a closer look because my dad liked the Everlys....but this was 27 minutes of repeated riffs. The only song I was aware of was Cathy's Clown....If this was what it was like to grow up in the 1960's, it was pretty bland.
Glam Rock....I have heard a couple if these songs. Get It On (Bang a Gong) is the best on the album. It's got some unique sounds and an interesting vibe. Not bad...
Just odd....the tunes were somewhat catchy....but the lyrics were dark. Nothing really got me excited. Sorry.
Is this the soundtrack to the new Letterkenny season? I get that this may be cutting edge. But again this is a "wash, rinse, repeat" style of music that makes my mind numb. I like music that has innuendo, intrigue, and variety. Unfortunately this album fails to deliver on all levels.
Such a great combination of electric guitar and the blues. The original version of Voodoo Chile is probably the best I've heard....although this album also included the "Slight Return" version. I listened to this twice it was so good. A musical genius who's star was extinguished too soon. My favorite album we have rated so far.
No thanks
Classic
Some good Christmas songs here,
Classic. Just like I was listening to it with my dad.
Raw. Unrefined. Classic.
This transcends generations. A great album.
These guys use the AC/DC formula of making all their songs sound similar. It was hard to get through the entire album without feeling like I had already heard this song before. Not really my style.
Haunting at times. I was in college when this came out and the whole Biggie situation played out. I never got into the whole story. I just liked the album. A solid listen.
Interesting album. I was familiar with some of the songs so it wasn't completely unfamiliar to me. Not a bad listen.
Great album. Very unique voice. Even snuck in a song with Kate Bush who has had a resurgence in popularity over the past few years. A great listen.
Stereotypical 80's synth....not for me.
Yikes!
Classic. A big part of my youth.
Strong guitar work.
Not bad.
Interesting Album
Came out the first week of my Sophomore year at UNL and ushered in plaid flannel and great music. This was one that was in heavy rotation for me. I played it on the stereo that my parents had bought for me for my high school graduation in my dorm room. This album hit me like a steel toed boot to the face and ushered in a run of great bands to grace my rotation (Soundgarden, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains....the list goes on and on...).
Not bad. Listened while at work and it blended in with the background....so nothing really stood out. It was a worthy listen.
Very "Big Bandish".....interesting.....nice album.
I think this is the music that is playing when you take the underground walkway between terminals in Detroit. Interesting listen....but not for me.
First song was the only one I had heard. Every song sounds the same.
It wasn't what I expected. Worth a listen.
Surprisingly good album. I nice listen this morning in the office.
Classic. Just as I remembered from when I was a kid.
This is what you would expect to hear from an early 80's British pop group. It is pretty much the same format as all the other groups. You will hear hints of Duran Duran with the sax...the catchy beats with the bongos and drum fills. Pretty much on script from 1982.
Classic
Interesting. Not really what I was expecting....but then again I was basing that off of their earlier work. I didnt vibe with this one as well.
Interesting voice. Decent songs.
I have heard of this group before. Interesting listen. Not my cup of tea.
Miles Davis....again? This is the 3rd Miles Davis album I have reviewed. I actually listened to this one quite extensively in my "History of American Jazz" course that I took back in college. A good listen.
Just as I imagined this would be.
Interesting blend of music. I was familiar with this group from only a few of their songs. This is a solid 80's album.
Classic Hip Hop. In my rotation when I was in high school.
Yeah Boi! I had this poster on my wall when I lived in the dorms. This is one of my all time favorites. Chuck D puts everyone to task with his lyrics while Flavor Flave is the court jester. Great album with cultural significance.
Classic Metal. Good listen.
Interesting album. Not sure where they got the intercut samples....but it gave it an interesting vibe. Not a bad listen.
Classic rap. This album is interesting when compared to modern albums. This is so measured and methodic with the delivery. You can definitely tell that rap has evolved since 1984.
Classic rock....a little too "folksy" for me.
One of my favorite albums from when I was a kid. U2 was one of my favorites. Very good listen.
Not a bad listen. Some pretty solid rock riffs in here.
Interesting listen. Really not my cup of tea....but it was okay.
Not my cup of tea.
good listen. my son has him in his rotation regularly.
I have heard of these guys before. Interesting listen.
classic Album
Classic Album. Great listen.
Classic.
Good Album.
No Thanks.
I had heard of these before. Very unique sound. Worth a listen. Kinda reminds me of Pink Floyd a bit.
Not my cup of tea.
Just the right amount of sarcasm and great musicianship. I really enjoyed this album. Morrissey can sing.
Really left me depressed after listening to this.
Absolute scorcher. One of the albums that got me into metal. A Classic.
Hey....it's Oasis.
Great album. Classic Stones.
Classic Album. Good listen.
Great album.
Interesting.
Very different. Not my cup of tea.
What I would expect from an album that was recorded in the 1950's. Then it got to the songs like "Knoxville Girl" where they sing about murdering a young girl. Then the songs kind of turned a little morbid....followed by a run of religious songs. I can't really see anyone sitting down to enjoy songs like that.
I am familiar with this album. My dad had this when I was growing up. Typical folksy album. Not a bad listen.
A few good songs. Typical of the late 60's. Some trippy songs on here.
Someone once told me that this was the best album recorded from the perspective of sound engineering. I might agree with them. Such a good album. Crisp sound. Very good listen.
Great album. One of the first controversial albums I have ever owned.
Classic metal. Lemmy in rare form.
Interesting listen. The electronic aspects of the music is solid. But it really leaves me wanting more substance. Not a bad listen.
Good listen. Solid orchestra. It strays a little too far into the "big Band" sound....but reminds me of listening to the radio with my dad in his garage doing woodwork. Nice album.
Soundtrack of my youth.
Worth the listen.
Interesting listen.
A great album. Some great songs.
Huh???
Classic album. Nice first offering.
Really didn't do it for me.
Wacky enough that it is catchy. I remember when this came out. It was cutting edge and funny at the same time. I enjoyed it.
Some good, classic music.
Classic rock and roll. How can a piano sound like that?
Classic rap!
Definitely one of the best albums I have listened to since starting this daily project. Strong alternative album rooted in blues. Some great songs on this album. Jack White makes his guitar sound like it is from another planet. Great album
Really not sure why this made the list.
Classic. Mind stretching. One of the all time greats that my dad had in his collection. A worthy listen.
Ugh.....disco.
Decent album.
Classic rock. Some good music in here.
Sounds the same.
Just a classy album.
Not really my thing. I kind of feel like i need to be high to listen to this album. It might make more sense to me. Crosby is a great musician...but this really is not in my wheel house.
Quintessential. This was one of the cassette tapes that I wore out listening to this album. Such a great album. And such a great group.
Not a bad listen.
Pretty much a wash, rinse, repeat album. Not much that really moved my needle.
Just like I remember it. Probably a little over produced and over hyped....just like the original Madonna.
This was about what I expected. Pretty catchy "glam rock" tunes. But nothing really shocking.
Good album. Really the only song that had any traction was Ms. Jackson...but generally a good listen.
One of my all time favorites. I listened to this as a kid, and will often pull this classic out when I need something to get me focused. There is not a bad song on this album. One of the top 10 of all time.
The Boss!
kind of campy.
Great rock album. Geddy has a unique voice. So much fun.
Solid album.
Interesting blend of electronic and other influences.
Some interesting classic country songs. A definite walk in the past. Not a bad listen if classic country is your thing.
Not a bad album. Just not my cup of tea.
Typical REM. Solid effort that is their signature sound.
Very campy. Not really something I would listen to on a regular basis.
There are some great songs on this album. A great songwriter....I think this was the first album that really gave her recognition.
great album
Great album. Some great songs on here.
Interesting listen. More of a political statement than MAAD City. Worth of at least a listen.
Classic 80's sound. A little more obscure than their other albums. Not a bad listen.
Interesting listen. I had heard of Cream before due to Clapton, but I had not really listened. I would assume this was typical of the 60's. But it was a little more electric than I had anticipated. A good listen.
Great album.
Not really something that appealed to me.
Great album full of classics.
Decent album with some pretty heavy hitter songs.
Interesting. Too accoustic for me.
Classic punk album. This is a great listen.
This was part of youth. But seriously I thought Madonna was over played.
Classic album.
One of the OG albums.
Driven. Great Metal sound.
Excellent album. A blend of classical and metal, which is always a classic combination.
Classic album. Love listening to Led Zeppelin
Not something that i would listen to again.
Classic
I have never heard of this artist before today. And I wonder why I needed to listen to this album before I shove off this mortal realm.
Came out my senior year in high school. Such a great album that provided hours of listening to me and my friends.
Classic. Great voice.
Not really my cup of tea.
Grunge at its finest.
Classic.
Pretty much the same song on repeat.
Classic 80's vibe. Synth Pop at it's finest. One of my favorite 80's groups.
One of my all time favorite bands. The first time I heard "Eruption" my brain melted into a puddle and I was hooked. One of the greatest guitarists of all time....a great band and an awesome album.
This was cutting edge when it came out. Still holds up today.
A great hip hop album. I really liked this when I was in high school.
With the exception of "Connection" I had really not heard any of their work before. This was a decent album. Very much cookie cutter songs that sound the same...but they had a decent groove.
Kind of catchy. Kind of campy. Straight up the middle.
One of my father's favorite bands. This album has some good songs on it. Still before their more radical works.
No thanks.
Surprisingly catchy for being lyrically campy.
