peak but not my style Black Dog and Stairway are highlights (of course) Going to California caught me off guard with how much I liked it. Haven't heard it in a long time. Playlist π£οΈ
I think it's solid. Songs can be kind of same-y. Riot Van and A certain Romance are highlights for me. I listened to it a second time, it's grown on me a bit more. The album is definitely weaker than the individual songs.
would be a lot better if it was 25% shorter, solid but not much stood out to me, and the things that did got stretched too thin.
it's just so peak πππππ₯π₯π₯π£οΈπ£οΈπ£οΈπ£οΈ May God strike down thee who dare not rate this a five. I remember, Adele.... I remember....
A (thankfully) highly-influential masterpiece that gets better every listen. ππ Highlights: Heaven or Las Vegas, I Wear Your Ring, Wolf in the Breast, Frou-Frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires Lowlight: The silence after the album ends
I really do like this album, but something that kind of dug at me was the way it feels like the verses are often too long for beats, specifically in the first half of the album. Even when the lyrics are so solid like they are in this work, it's a bit too much. It does get better as the album goes on though. I think the back half of the album is extremely solid, and has much more interesting beats. + 4th Chamber, Investigative Report, I Gotcha Back, B.I.B.L.E.
i feel like i'm in a JCPenny
I was a bit disappointed. I think the album is fine, but it lacks that forward momentum that made their earlier album Murmur feel so infectious to me. + The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight, Man on the Moon
can't let gang know i fw this + Teenage Kicks
i know this is like impressive technically, but man i was so bored by the end. the track Green Onions is fine, but then you have to listen to just worse versions of that track for 30 minutes. i picked up my phone and thought, "surely, this is almost over" and then i was only half way. i'm 90% sure booker t was slipping in extra tracks to fuck with me.
i love this album, even Free Form Guitar, which is so unapologetically absurd that i can't help but find it charming. it's such a fun album. makes me feel like a big man traveling in a big city, chicago perhaps. + Does Anyone Really Know What Time It Is?

boooorrringggg
what the hell is the christmas woman talking about she is an incredible singer, but it gets tiring how much flair she has to put into making the extremely derivative tracks interesting.
+ Bonny, Goodbye Lucille #1
i tried my best to go into this with an open mind, and not let my bias affect my rating, but i was unable to. i love this guy, i don't care anymore, this is so fire

shoegaze has the opportunity to be extremely expressive, but this album comes from a time before people knew how. i love the influence of this album, however the album itself varies between somewhat interesting and actually painful. low three
i like it :)
