Dave Rubin my balls, funk weezer
didn't resonate with me, it's not bad except for that 10 min track but it's also not great
don't understand the hate, y'all will listen to a fat middle age man named danzig yell about his mother over and over again but this lady giving us her star trek TNG captain's log in song form is not ok for some reason
I'm a jazz nerd and a drummer this album was unfair to the competition
godlike
Tarantino-core but like nothing wrong with that, it's fine
This is my 3rd Tom waits album on this list and I have accepted by now that I will never understand it. I like a lot of music that can be dissonant, weird, borderline unprofessional, out of tune, not on beat, etc. But Tom Waits is always part mediocre folk and part garbage noises with this weird muppet sounding dude trying to sing over it, but failing because he misread the label and started swallowing chewing tobacco
I can't
not much to say this is a masterpiece
This album was important to me when it came out and and I still really like it today, it's part "I like it" and part "i'm a homer" but otherwise it's hard to explain it other than by saying I love pretty much everything about it. It's a shame that the legacy of this album is a bunch of shitty bands trying to recreate this sound for a decade and an original band I just don't care about whatsoever outside of this lp
Beyoncé has an amazing voice but this album did absolutely nothing for me, I already forgot everything about what I listened to
This album was alright
They're edging on occult rock or early doom, but they refused to accept Satan into their heart and that was a mistake
It wasn't bad bad so it saves itself from a 1 star review, but man was that a whole lot of unmemorable nothing
The music is good but definitely not as good as I remembered, it really rubbed me the wrong way this time. This album oozes pretentiousness in ways I can't explain
Moby seems like an insufferable person and i've honestly never heard anything he's made before or after this album, I legit thought he stopped making music soon after this.
but trying to stay as objective as I can this album is pretty good, he got a lot of great samples and did good things with them, he made a lot of forgettable loops catchy and memorable... Most of the album is still really easy to listen to today which in itself is a massive feat compared to a lot of music from that specific era.
Way too long and some songs feel like fillers, but overall a classic and a good album
When you copy Death Grips' homework poorly and then ask Rick Rubin to go over it before handing it over
I like this album but was a little disappointed with this listen, and it's a strange pick for The Roots, they have much much better material out there
Surprisingly good dad rock
negatives: couple of songs I didn't like, notably High Plain Drifter, and a little too long... I was kinda over it 35min in so 53 min is a little too much
otherwise I mean it's really good and I respect it a lot despite it not really being my style. I feel like it could grow on me even more too, to be honest
Started off strong, but it got old 3 songs in and it was just irritatingly Beatlesy after that
I don't like live albums UNLESS they bring something to the table, and this one does exactly that.
Couple of good riffs in what is otherwise a brain numbing boring album
I'd be lying if I didn't say it's a generous 4. I like this album fine but I can't help compare it to some of their later works which are some of my favorite albums. it's lacking a bit of punch
2 seems harsh, 3 is a little generous, still fairly sure Elvis Costello paid to get on this list so many times
A lot of forgettable nothing
This is a generous 4, I really liked that album at some point but it didn't hit me as hard this time around
mrs vanderbilt still slaps
This album played with fire and gets a 2, but that 2 is very close to a 1
insanely boring and baffling choice, you're gonna make me point at the sign with all the obvious picks missing from the list again
One of the biggest most influential rock album of all time and it stood the test of time
Best drumming award for the album goes to: Deep
Strong 3, not my thing but definitely enjoyable
Almost a 5 but it is slightly too long
Hey at least it made me realize I've always been too hard on later Pink Floyd
Could've been a 5 if it stuck to jazz
It's good, but again nobody needs well over an hour of it
This was my first time listening to an Elton John album in full and my man knows how to make good music
a weak 4 but you know, it's a fine album
Too long, never caught my attention
i don't care how good the music is, it's fucking sad for you if you're out here writing love songs about your now-ended marriage, to fulfill a contractual obligation to your ex-wife, while you're already remarried.
holy shit dude call a shrink or something, i'm gonna listen to one of the other 15 marvin gaye albums
Not my favorite genre but at least it was enjoyable
I've stated my dislike for Sitar as an instrument before but this thing was both good and very funny
real conflicted because I like a couple of songs and I have a lot of nostalgia for it, but this album aged like milk. Went in expecting to like revisiting it but the majority of the songs left me physically cringing
great album, it lost my attention at some point but it could grow into a 5
more generic british rock
did not expect to like it that much but that was a pleasant surprise!
wasn't as good as I remembered but it has some good tracks
it's just too long, really
Under the bridge is a good song
this feels like one of those albums that i'll listen to again later with context and it'll be a 4-5 stars
I like this album alright
appreciated it but very forgettable
americana must be stopped
couple of good songs lost in a mediocre album that didn't need to be this long
turns out I like public enemy and I didn't know it
god damnit steely dan it's so good
more Bob Dylan started playing after the album was over and I didn't notice it for 30min, it's fine
could possibly turn into a 4 if I deep dive into Jane's Addiction and enjoy it
idk man I don't understand this band, don't hate it but it's not my thing
love the man but his voice is just too close to ASMR here and it's actually hard to listen for me
what a misleading cover art
