The Go-Betweens
4/5
Very solid record for an Australian band I'd never heard of. I was pleasantly surprised with how enjoyable the whole listening experience was. The vocals and production of the album really just complement each other and the main idea of it being centered around love is quite nice.
Best - Love Goes On!, Quiet Heart, The Devil's Eye, Streets Of Your Town, Was There Anything I Could Do?, and Dive For Your Memory
No bad songs but Clouds and I'm All Right are lil mid

I was excited to see that I'd be listening to an indie rock/art pop album, but as soon as I heard that voice, my joy quickly turned to disappointment. This guy's voice can be good when he wants, but everything falls apart when he starts singing in falsetto. It really sucks. I like the instrumentation here, but the vocals ruin it. The lyrics on this, as well, are straight-ass. I know kids that aren't even in high school that can write better shit than this. "My boot, my boot, my boot, my boot up your asshole" is how I feel about this album.
Best - All The King's Men and Two Dancers (i)
Worse - The Fun Powder Plot, Hooting and Howling, and much more that I don't care to list.

I'm a big fan of Bigmouth Strikes Again. A cool song and a cool fella but more importantly the album was a solid listen. Some of the track had the same formula to to it but it was still fun to listen to.
Top 3 Fav: Bigmouth Strikes Again, There is A Light That Never Goes Away, and The Boy With The Thorn In His Side

Foo Fighters
3/5
It's a pretty solid debut for Foo Fighters. I wasn't expecting much but for the most part I liked what I heard. It's a typical 90's rock album but it excels at what it does. The first half of it was where it had its highs then after Floaty it just dips in quality. Most of the songs on this album just blend in with each other which I guess isn't a bad thing. All in all for my first album listened to on this generator I liked it.
Best - Floaty and Big Me
Worst - Weenie Beenie and Wattershed

2/5
Upon listening to the album more than once and the complete version of it, I can confidently say that I do not care for this record. There were two songs I'd say I liked, but for the rest, I just didn't care for. I can understand the cultural significance of it, but it just doesn't push all the right buttons for me. I'm sure if I was teleported to 1964 in Hamburg, present at the show, I'd lose my marbles and do all kinds of crazy shit. It's dated and doesn't really have all that much substance to me. Also, this guy was pedo racist pos it's a damn shame he managed to live so long.
Rest in Piss Jerry Lee Lewis

4/5
Very solid record by CCR. Enjoyed most of songs on this besides a very few that ran a bit too long for my liking but still wasn't bad. This was honestly a banger and a pleasure to listen to. If you ever want to know what it feels like to be an American just listen to this and or all of CCR's discography. Would recommend.
Best - Born on the Bayou, Bootleg, and Proud Mary

Talking Heads
3/5
Started off pretty good with I Zimbra it definitely hooked me from the start. The very interesting instrumentation really drew me but when the singer started getting a bit too wacky I was just kind of caught off guard and a bit confused. As I understand that seems to his whole shtick but it's not something I'm really a big fan of. Nevertheless the album as a whole was decent. The last three to end it the album off were a bit disappointing and it just felt like I got edged for nothing. I'd say I enjoyed experience more than the music itself.
Best - I Zimbra, Life During Wartime, and Heaven
Worst - Animals and Electric Guitar

4/5
Started off the album with a BANGER and proceeded to just capture my attention all the way. Great production, good vocals, awesome drumming, and absolutely no duds whatsoever. I will say the first side does carry but there no bad songs on this at worst I'd say a very few on side b are good but anything worse than that you are trippin. Great listen, would recommend.
Best - Tom Sawyer, YYZ, and Witch Hunt
No bad songs
3/5
Decent record. It started off with a nice one then when Yes Sir, No Sir came in it really brought me back to earth. I really thought it was gonna be another banger. It wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't as good as I thought it would be since a lot of the British Invaders got lots of classic albums. I thought most of the album itself was decent, it had a couple of low points throughout but I felt like it did end quite nicely. Not something I would come back to but I didn't mind listening to it.
Best - Victoria, Brainwashed, Shangri-La, and Arthur
Worst - Yes Sir, No Sir and Nothing to Say
3.0-3.25
Elvis Costello & The Attractions
3/5
Started off pretty rough but got better as I progressed. Solid production, interesting vocals, and not bad for an album with a rough start. Definitely took at least two listens to warm up to Elvis' voice but after that it started to enjoy the album more. It's one of those album where you just gotta listen to it more than once to appreciate it. I wouldn't place it high but it was not bad at all.
Best - I Hope You're Are Happy Now, Tokyo Storm Warning, I Want You, and Blue Chair
Worst - Uncomplicated and Battered Old Bird
3.25-3.50/5
Portishead

Awesome samples, great vocals by Beth, and loved the dark moody feel of it. A solid trip-hop album to listen to and great for those getting into different types of genres. Would recommend no cap.
Best - Sour Times, Wandering Star, Numb, Roads, Biscuit, and Glory Box

The Good, The Bad & The Queen
4/5
Had an interestingly gloomy tone to it on the first track which sets you up for what's to come later on. Honestly Damon Albarn's vocals carry the whole album for me personally. His singing is like the vocal personification of melancholy throughout the album which pairs well with the production. This was a solid listen, I'll definitely be coming back to a few of these tracks.
Best - History Song, 80s Life, Northern Whale, A Soldier's Tale, and Three Changes
No bad songs
3.5-3.75/5
The Verve
3/5
A nice psychedelic rock to listen to. The feelings put to this felt quite intimate but I found myself staying in the same repetitive loop (it wasn't a bad loop though). On A Northern Soul I'm not fond of how abrasive the overall track feels I guess it's just part of it's charm but I just couldn't get into it that well. Overall, not a bad record if like britpop and psychedelic rock with some deep thoughts put to it I think you'll like it.
Best - On Your Own, Drive You Home, History, and Life's An Ocean
Worst - A Northern Soul and Stormy Clouds

Opening and Closing Tracks carried the album. Let It Happen and Monkey Man were decent the rest of the tracks it didn't really care for. Not bad though, I'll definitely be coming back to Gimme Shelter and You Can't Always Get What You Want.
Best - Gimme Shelter and You Can't Always Get What You Want
Worse - Country Honk and Love In Vain
3.25/5
The Fall
3/5
Had its highs and lows it started off decent in the beginning but it quickly started getting subpar. Then it started getting decent again and then it dips again. Overall not bad but I won't be coming back to this anytime soon.
Best - Mansion, Spoilt Victorian Child, and Paintwork
Worst - Couldn't Get Ahead, Gut Of The Quantifier, and I Am Damo Suzuki
2.75-3.00/5
Marilyn Manson
2/5
Dark, explicit, graphic, and controversial. All attributes that define this album and the man himself. This album really wasn't my cup of tea hearing all that screaming made the album a bit repetitive and therefore boring. I can't say that I hated the entire thing since there was a very few amount of songs on there that stuck out that I thought were listenable. 100% won't be coming back to this but it ain't the worse thing I've heard so far.
Best - The Beautiful People, Tourniquet and Antichrist Superstar
Worse - Pretty much the rest of the album
2.25-2.5/5
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
3/5
Energetic, soppy, mopey, and all of it being centered around synths is all I have to say about this album. I tried so hard to like this album. Listening to this repeatedly, I noticed that the singer would either elevate the songs or make them sound worse. I loved the energy coming from Heads Will Roll, but after that, the album began feeling subpar. The intro track immediately reminded me of Fox On The Run. It resulted in me catching a phony vibe while listening to the rest of it. Respectfully, anyone who gives this a five is smoking crack. Anyway, all in all, the album ended nicely. If the vocals didn't sound whiny and cheesy at times and had a bit more polish, and if the lyrics were better. I would have given this a four. That said, overall, the album left a lot to be desired.
Best - Heads Will Roll, Hysteric, Dragon Queen, and Little Shadow
Worse - Zero, Shame and Fortune, and Runaway
BARELY 3.00/5
The White Stripes
2/5
It started off good with Blue Orchid but after that it just turns into a snooze fest. I wasn't a fan of Jack White's vocals it felt crude with no substance. Only positive thing I can say was that the real star of the show was the production. Other than that I wished that I had liked this album enough to give it a 3.
Best - Blue Orchid
Worse - The Nurse, My Doorbell, Passive Manipulation, I'm Lonely (But I Ain't That Lonely Yet)
2.50/5
The Jesus And Mary Chain
3/5
Calm, soft, chill, and with some nice harmonies to top it off. This record was a bit of a sleeper but in a good way. Good vocals, solid production, and some decent lyrics. At some points I felt it was a bit too calm and soft that it got a little boring but not to the point that I'd just fall asleep. Very good background music if imma keep it a buck. Would listen again tbh.
Best - Happy When It Rains, April Skies, and About You (MPF)
Worse - No bad songs
3.25-3.50/5
The Who
3/5
An interesting concept album satirizing the advertising industry of those days. One of the best album covers I've seen in a minute. While I feel like they didn't do anything groundbreaking this was a nice record to listen to. Kinda like a shitpost in album form that actually sounds good but in 1967. I really liked goofy aspect of it and the not serious vibe it gives off. Very solid record.
Best - Mary Anne With The Shaky Hand, Odorono, Our Love Was, and I Can See For Miles
Worse - Tattoo and I Can't Reach You
3.25/5
Alanis Morissette
5/5
This really is one of those albums that captures the vibe of 90s. The vocals, the lyrics, and the overall production all being exceptionally great. Alanis' voice took a little bit of time to warm up too but it really kept the experience interesting and captivating. So many hits on this along with some of the songs with less total listens being fire as well. Wonderful album, would listen again.
Best - You Oughta Know, Hand In My Pocket, Right Through You, Forgiven, You Learn (MPF), Head over Feet, Mary Jane, and Not The Doctor
Worse - No bad songs but Perfect and Wake Up are decent/ok
4.50-5.00/5
Lauryn Hill
5/5
This album really exceeded my expectations. I was unaware of how thought-provokingly beautiful this record was gonna be. Lauryn's voice, the superb production, and the discussion of various social topics within the music all come together nicely. From start to finish, it was a joy listening to it all. The rendition of Can't Take My Eyes Off of You was fantastic. The song ending off the whole event that was this album was incredible and probably my favorite out of all I've heard. Nothing but positive things to say about this album. My ears were blessed today.
Best - Lost Ones, Ex-Factor, To Zion, Doo Wop (That Thing), Superstar, Final Hour, I Used To Love Him, Forgive Them Father, Everything Is Everything, The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, Can't Take My Eyes Off of You. Tell Him (MPF)
Worse - Absolutely no bad songs on this whatsoever

Laibach
2/5
It was quite a rough listen if I'm going to keep it for a buck. Some interesting parts kept me intrigued, but this industrial metal album wasn't for me. The only song that I enjoyed was The Great Seal, which I thought was decent. Other than that, this album was a bit of a chore to listen to. I won't be coming back to this anytime soon.
Best - The Great Seal
Worse - Leben-Tod, FIAT, Trans-national
2.25-2.75/5
John Coltrane
5/5
This is a pleasant 33 minutes of wonderful jazz music with elements of avant-garde and spirituality. The way the different instruments clash to produce a fantastic sound is unlike any other.
The album definitely requires more than two listens. Still, John Coltrane's genius can not be understated.
Best - A Love Supreme, Pt. I-IV
Worse - N/A
4.75/5
Norah Jones
3/5
This is a soothing, calming, and chill album. It was a good listen. It may not be as radical and crazy as some other albums here, but it succeeds in what it's trying to achieve. A balance of soft and clear vocals and delicate and graceful instrumentation accompany it. It ain't too shabby for Starbucks music.
Best - Don't Know Why, Turn Me On, and Painter Song
Worst - It all sounds the same fr
2.75-3.25/5

I have no words man. This is mega ass, holy fart. I can't believe a group of people got together and made this piece of shart of an album. Giving this a 1 is being generous.

The Roots
4/5
After hearing of this band's reputation, I was excited to listen to this album. The experimentation and collaborative effort of trying out different ideas is immaculate. It's slow at first, but it starts to pick up the speed as you get further into it. The song that ended the album was regrettably a rough listen, but the rest of the album more than makes up for its faults. I'd listen again.
Best - Thought @ Work, The Seed (2.0), Break You Off, Quills, Complexity, and Rhymes and Ammo
Worst - Water, Pussy Galore, and Thirsty!
3.50-4.00/5
Public Enemy
4/5
This is a well-regarded album in the world of hip-hop, and for good reason. Chuck D's politically charged lyrics and commanding vocals in this record still bite after so many years. The overall message and theme within this album are legendary. There's a reason, after over 30 years, this is still one of the most influential hip-hop albums ever made.
Best - Bring The Noise, Don't Believe The Hype, Show 'Em What You Got, Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos, and Rebel Without A Pause
Worse - Terminator X To The Edge Of Panic and Caught, Can We Get A Witness?
YEAHH BOII
3.50-3.75/5
Marianne Faithfull
3/5
This is an interesting record, to say the least. I was intrigued by the woman singing this, as her voice came off as eccentric, but I got used to it by the second or third song. It was enjoyable, though, especially that last song where she gets explicit. The listening experience was decent.
Best - Broken English, Guilt, The Ballad Of Lucy Jordan, and Why'd Ya Do It
Worse - no bad songs
3.00-3.50/5
Pixies
4/5
This album's influence is without question. From U2 to Nirvana to Weezer, these fellas inspired so many great bands that it can't be overlooked. It's a great album, a great listen, and solid vocals. Will listen again.
Best - Here Comes Your Man, Monkey Gone To Heaven, Mr. Grieves, La La Love You, No 13 Baby, and Hey
Worse - Tame and Gouge Away

Radiohead
4/5
This album really perplexed me. I had been trying really hard to understand what it was all about. I still haven't put my finger on it, but I know for a fact that I did not hate it. This was a good and pleasant listen. I'll definitely be listening to this again.
Best - Everything In It's Right Place, How To Disappear Completely (MPF), Optimistic, In Limbo, and Motion Picture Soundtrack
Worse - No bad songs
4.00-4.50/5
Kanye West
5/5
It's one of the best rap albums of the 00s. Excellent production, unique bars from Kanye, the fire features on this album, and hearing Kanye's personal story on how he got to where he was are inspiring. He may be a bit wacky these days, but the man's talent and influence across hip-hop can not be questioned.
Best - All Falls Down, Jesus Walks, Slow Jamz, Breathe In Breathe Out, Through The Wire, Family Business, and Last Call
Worse - no bad songs
5/5
P.S. Anyone who rates this man's album purely based on his actions and not the art itself is a sheep and has no free will.
Patti Smith
3/5
It's an okay album. I didn't hate it, but I wish there was more nuance and diversity of sounds. It felt like she was following a similar formula with most of the songs here. The instrumentation was good, and the lyrical content was vast. Although her voice is a bit wild, it adds uniqueness and personality to the album.
Best - Gloria: In Excelsis Deo, Redondo Beach, and Land: Horses / Land of a Thousand Dances / La Mer(de)
Worst - Kimberly and Break It Up
3.00-3.25/5
The Band
5/5
This was a great listen. Having already heard The Weight I knew these fellas had bangers but man, I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. The vibes I got from this were immaculate. From the bluesy/R&B feel you get the moment you hear the first song to the psychedelic feel you get from the last song. The production on this is just so vibrant and fresh. I'll definitely be listening to this again. May these beautiful soulful men rest in peace.
Best - Tears Of Rage, To Kingdom Come, In The Station, The Weight, We Can Talk (MPF besides the one named previously), Long Black Veil, Lonesome Suzie, and I Shall Be Released
Worse - NO BAD SONGS
4.50-4.75/5
Guns N' Roses
4/5
Can't really say much about it. It's iconic and it's got a decent amount of bangers. It has kinda soured on me over the years but it is not bad. I don't think it's a masterpiece but it still rocks as hard as you think it would.
Best - Welcome To The Jungle, Paradise City, and Sweet Child O' Mine (MPF)
Worse - no bad songs tbh but it feels like a majority of these songs just flow the same. Make of that what you will.
3.50-3.75/5

4/5
A wonderfully exciting album from John Grant. Some very solid vocals as well as the overall production. There was some interesting dialogue to say the least which kept me engaged all the way through.
Best - TC & Honeybear, Sigourney Weaver, It's Easier, Outer Space, Caramel, and Queen Of Denmark
Worse - no bad songs
3.50-3.75

I've heard many good things about this beautiful black man, and I gotta say, this was a great listen. It's so full of promiscuity, passion, and straight fire. I listened to it several times, and my opinion on this has been sealed. Absolute GAS, I encourage anyone and everyone to listen to this banger.
Best - Let's Go Crazy, Computer Blue (underrated asf, when that guitar hits at the second half that shit was so fire), When Doves Cry, I Would Die 4 U (MPF), Baby, I'm a Star, and Purple Rain
Worse - No bad songs honestly
4.50-4.75/5
Koffi Olomide
3/5
A fun and happy sounding album indeed. I enjoyed the african beats that encompasses the album but I can't help but feel a bit disappointed that there wasn't anything that might have added a bit more diversity of sounds among the production. Most of the album sounds the same even the lyrics are repeated multiple times but it was a nice listen anyway.
Best - ???
Worse - nothing truly bad besides the songs sounding the same
2.75/5
Nick Drake
4/5
A calm, somber, and yet soothing album. Nick Drake does so much with the 28 minutes of runtime. The production on here is fantastic and very memorizing. Looking at Nick's tragic history he really does embodying this album as a whole. A great listen through and through.
Best - Pink Moon (MPF), Place To Be, Horn, Things Behind The Sun, and From The Morning
Worse - No bad songs
4.50/5
Van Morrison
5/5
This is the reason I LOVE and LIVE for music as a whole, this was wonderful to listen to. The first five songs going into this are extraordinary. There are absolutely no duds on here whatsoever. You can really feel the passion and fire that Van Morrison puts into these tracks. All of them having fantastic production as well as beautiful, poetic, and soulful vocals. After relistening to this a few times there is no doubt in my mind that I'll be happily listening to this for the rest of my life.
Best - And It Stoned Me, Moondance, Crazy Love, Caravan, Brand New Day, Glad Tidings
Worse - NONE

The Byrds
4/5
They weren't cappin when they said this record was "ethereal", it was quite a nice listen. I had no idea that Carole King had a hand in writing one of the songs on here which explains the wonderful lyrics. I wouldn't say this is a perfect record but it retained my attention throughout my time listening to it. Some great psychedelic rock for ya.
Best - Goin Back, Draft Morning, Get to You, Change Is Now, and Tribal Gathering
Worst - no bad songs
4.00/5
Violent Femmes
4/5
It started great with Blister In The Sun but after that I felt pessimistic towards the album. Then after a few tracks it began to grow on me. The overall themes of edginess and rebellion with a nice slice of rawness displayed on the album helped me understand it more and why many people enjoy this. Still on some of the songs here the vocals really made me want to die of cringe but it still had that weird ass charm to it ig.
Best - Blister in the Sun, Add It Up, Confessions, To the Kill, Gone Daddy Gone, and Good Feeling
Worse - Kiss Off, Please Do Not Go, and Promise
3.50-3.75/5
Jethro Tull

So many bangers on this man. I honestly can't believe I haven't listen to these fellas. The flute in particular makes the tracks really distinctive and unique The medieval/LOTR feel to it also goes really well. A fantastic listen through and through.
Best - Aqualung, Cross-Eyed Mary, Cheap Day Return, Mother Goose, Up To Me, My God, and many more
Worse - NONE

The Sonics
2/5
Now I will say I enjoy the erratic nature of the album but that enjoyment comes at the cost of replay value. You like at first but then it starts to get stale fast. There are some good songs on here but for most part it's just dated 60's track rock with some classic rock songs thrown into it.
Best - The Witch, Have Love Will Travel, and Strychnine
Worst - can't be bothered tbh
2.50/5
Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
2/5
I can respect the genuine attempt at creating a cultural fusion type album but my god this got so boring so quick man. It's tries hard to portray itself as something deep and soul-guiding but it just comes across as shallow.
Best - Visions of You
Worse - can't be bothered
2.25/5
Billy Joel
5/5
This album brings back a lot of good memories for me and it still holds up just as good as when I last listened to it. Billy Joel's voice brings in some great depth and flavor that is felt throughout the entire album. I really don't have anything negative to say about it besides one of the songs in particular (Only The Good Die Young) as being a bit overrated imo but even the less popular songs on here get their chance to shine. Just some great music here overall that I'll always enjoy.
Best - Movin' Out (Anthony's Song), The Stranger, Just the Way You Are, She's Always A Woman, and Get It Right The First Time
Worse - No bad songs besides a few being a bit overrated
4.50-4.75/5
The B-52's
3/5
I'm in the middle of the road for this one. Me personally I didn't really hate much about it but I didn't like much for this album either. The fun quirky bits in this are nice to listen to but it doesn't really do much for me. All I got from this was a bunch of oddballs making an oddball album with a goofy album cover to top it off. Rock Lobster will always be a bop tho.
Best - Planet Claire, 52 Girls, Rock Lobster, Lava, and 6060-842
Worst - Dance This Mess Around and Downtown
2.50-3.00/5
Creedence Clearwater Revival
4/5
A classic as always when it comes to CCR. I remember first listening to Green River playing GTA SA back in the good ole days when I didn't have to worry about being an adult. This song among many had a great influence on my music taste and I am forever grateful. Great album.
Best - Green River (MPF), Bad Moon Rising, and Lodi
Worst - no bad songs

Some fire disco music what more can one say. Groovy, catchy, and feel-good. Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards both elevate this album to its highest potential.
Best - He's The Greatest Dancer, Lost In Music, Thinking Of You, We Are Family, and Easier To Love
Worst - No bad songs

This was a rough listen, literally. The audio quality is notably just rough. I can respect what these fellas achieved but the entire album felt like a chore.
Best - Summertime Blues
Worst - Doctor Please, Parchment Farm, and Second Time Around

3/5
Pretty decent for thrash metal ngl. I was expecting worse but was instead pleasantly surprised. All the tracks flowed well and it kept hold of my attention for the most part.
Best - Caught In A Mosh, I Am The Law, Efilnikufesin (N.F.L.), and Indians
Worst - no bad songs
3.50/5
Mott The Hoople
3/5
It started off good with the first track, towards the 2nd half of it when that trumpet started going retarded it kinda killed the vibe a lil but it was still good. As for the rest of this album I thought it was decent but nothing really remarkable.
Best - All The Way From Memphis, Whizz Kid, Honaloochie Boogie, and I Wish I Was Your Mother
Worst - no bad songs
3.25/5
Neil Young
5/5
This right here is a banger country-folk album. Not that crappy country pop that plays on the radio nowadays. This album has some great songwriting, beautiful tunes throughout its' entirety, and superb production. Neil Young paints colorful and deep paintings with these tracks, and I'm here to stay and enjoy all of them.
Best - Only Love Can Break Your Heart (MPF), Southern Man, Oh, Lonesome Me, I Believe In You, and literally most if not all of this album.
Worst - NOT A SINGLE MISS
4.50-4.75/5
The Kinks
3/5
Started off great with the first track then it mellowed out a bit throughout the album but I thought it was still a good listen. I was expecting something a bit more from the rest of the record. It ended off solidly with the two last songs though.
Best - Party Line, Session Man, Sunny Afternoon, and I'll Remember
Worst - no bad songs (although some were a bit of a drag)
3.00-3.25/5
Jane's Addiction
5/5
This shit rocks man, the sonics on this entire album are just incredible. The opener kinda threw me off with how slow burning it felt but hearing it all come together was amazing. One of the best melodic, visceral, and thrashing hard rock albums I've ever heard.
Best - Up The Beach, Ocean Size (MPF), Had a Dad, Standing in the Shower... Thinking, Summertime Rolls, and Jane Says
Worst - NONE
4.75/5
The Who
4/5
Tommy the goat fr. Even though this was a bit of chore to listen to with the long runtime I'd still say that this was a pretty good listen. When it comes to concept albums in general I'll always have soft spot for them since some of my favorite albums are concept albums, plus it takes some balls to actually execute one solidly. This album definitely had some misses but the majority of the album was great.
Best - 1921, Amazing Journey, Pinball Wizard, Go To The Mirror!, Welcome, and We're Not Gonna Take It
Worst - Fiddle About, Sensation, I'm Free, and Tommy's Holiday Camp
3.50-3.75/5
Julian Cope
3/5
First, the instrumentation is very well done. The album's overall vibe is weird but not bad. This album had no business being 76 minutes long; I had to lock in to finish listening to it. There are a few standouts here and there, but the album itself was good. That 76-minute runtime is almost unforgivable.
Best - Double Vegetation, Safesurfer (MPF), Not Raving But Drowning, and Las Vegas Basement
Worst - no bad songs
3.25-3.50/5
Doves
4/5
This was a real nice one to listen to. The fun, intriguing and unique melodies throughout the album were superb. Alongside the calm yet still commanding vocals it made for a great listen.
Best - Sea Song, Rise, Melody Calls, Catch the Sun (MPF), and The Cedar Room
Worst - no bad songs whatsoever
4.25-4.50/5
Black Sabbath
5/5
A iconic and influential record that still holds up after so many years. Everyone in the band plays their part perfectly. The OG of all heavy metal albums.
Best - War Pigs, Paranoid, Planet Caravan, Iron Man, Hand of Doom, and Fairies Wear Boots
Worst - no duds on this at all
4.50-4.75/5
Dennis Wilson
4/5
As a Beach Boys fan it's crazy that up until now I hadn't listened to any of the members besides Brian. Dennis Wilson does a splendid job with the creation of the record. I would have expected that most of what would have be heard was mainly the Beach Boys sound but he brings his own original flare to it. You get hints of that sound throughout the album but it really is labor of love and passion from Dennis. The songwriting is fantastic and the various sounds he draws from other genres is really something. I can safely say that if you are a fan of The Beach Boys that you will like maybe even love this record.
Best - Dreamer, Thought of You (MPF), Time, Pacific Ocean Blues, and Only With You
Worst - no bad songs
3.75-4.00/5
Sabu
4/5
Not gonna lie; I have an inherent bias to this since my folks come from the Caribbean, and I know for a fact my pops would definitely vibe to this. I'm not looking for any complicated melodies or intellectual lyrics when I listen to this. Instead, I close my eyes and teleport myself to late 14th century B.C. in Hispaniola when Christopher Columbus wasn't there to colonize the beautiful island and picture myself among the Taino people vibing out to this and spiritually taking it all the beautiful scenery, enjoying the culture and the delicious fruits. That being said, this shit slaps.
Best - Billumba-Palo Congo, Asabache, Rhapsodia del Maravilloso, and Aggo Elegua (MPF)
Worst - no bad songs
3.50-3.75/5
2/5
The intro track going into this album was a bit too crude for my taste and killed my enthusiasm. That was until I heard Starlight which to my surprise was decent. Most of the tracks here were just ok. I couldn't find anything to gush over and couldn't find anything to hate besides the first track. When I saw the overall rating for this I thought I was gonna be in for a hell of a ride. Instead I was handed a big Nothingburger.
Best - Starlight
Worst - Take a Bow
2.50/5
Manu Chao
3/5
This album was interesting to say the least. The different languages being spoken on this was certainly impressive and unique but it was something that I did not care for at all. The vocals as well were a bit annoying at times and laughable. But it wasn't all bad, there were plenty of decent and catchy songs throughout the album. The listening experience was more enjoyable than the actual album itself.
Best - Clandestino, Bongo Bong, Mentira, and La Despedida
Worst - Lágrimas de Oro, and Welcome to Tijuana
2.50-2.75/5
Traffic
4/5
Great listen. The fusion of many genres here is extremely well done. The organ and flute as far as the instruments are concerned carry the album for me. The vocal performance and the overall production are also quite amazing. Ya love to see it.
Best - Glad, Empty Pages, Stranger To Himself, John Barleycorn (Must Die), and Every Mother's Son (MPF)
Worst - No bad songs
3.75-4.00/5
David Bowie
4/5
Having never listened to a David Bowie album, this was a nice introduction to the man. The vocal performances from David never fail to impress. The man knows how to cook a great album even when he's on a cocaine binge. Love this man.
Best - Word on a Wing (MPF), TVC15, Stay, and Wild is the Wind
Worst - no bad songs

The Byrds
3/5
Solid album. There was a lot to like on this album. The production especially was a highlight for me and the good vocals made the album enjoyable to listen to. There wasn't anything that I found extraordinary about the album but I'd much rather listen to this than something like Screamo.
Best - Mr. Tambourine Man, I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better, You Won't Have to Cry, All I Really Want to Do, and Don't Doubt Yourself, Babe
Worst - No bad songs

Had some decent songs in it, but as a whole this was MID. Only positive thing going for this was the production everything else was subpar. This album has no business being on this list.

Santana
5/5
Easiest 5-star yet. The beginning of this album takes you for a slow and mellow ride with the nearly 5-minute intro. Then it fades into an absolute classic that is Black Magic Woman. After that, you get hit with another banger (Oye Como Va), and after that, an incredible psychedelic Latin jazz fusion jam that hits you out of nowhere. The tone switches, the slow hypnotic guitar, and the unbelievable percussion on this album are astonishing. Samba Pa Ti and the rest after it were high points for me. It ends with a percussion-heavy, almost tribal chant, which was the cherry on top. This shit was so beautiful from start to finish.
Best - Black Magic Woman / Gypsy Queen, Oye Como Va, Incident At Neshabur, Se a Cabo, Samba Pa Ti (MPF), and El Nicoya
Worst - no bad no mid not even good every song on this was GREAT
6/5
George Michael
3/5
I didn't expect to not like this as much as since George Michael is usually loaded with bangers but man. This was a tad disappointing the production is outdated and at times quite corny. The entire album is corny as a matter of fact but I'm gonna give it a slight pass solely based on the vocals and George's aura.
Best - Father Figure and One More Try
Worst - I Want Your Sex Pts 1, 2 and 3 and Faith
2.75/5
SAULT
1/5
There was nothing soulful or funky about this album. I suppose the message behind the music is meant with good intentions but this blows. The production is shit, the mixing is horrendous, and it felt so damn long for 56 minutes. The attempt at being "unapologetically black" is laughable. Piggybacking off the BLM movement this misses the mark so bad. A weak effort at trying to make something radical and inspiring.
Best - Wildfires
Worst - most of the album
1.50/5
Beatles
5/5
There's so much variety in this album that for me personally I never get bored with it (even with the insane 31 songs on this). A rollercoaster if you will. With that being said falling asleep to Good Night on repeat while being fried off a penjamin was one of the more comforting experiences I'll cherish (the piano version is a tad bit better imo). The Beatles shall always reign supreme.
Best - Dear Prudence (2nd), While My Guitar Gently Weeps (1st), Blackbird, Julia, Yer Blues, Helter Skelter (3rd), and Good Night
Worst - Revolution 9 (it's a given if we're keepin it a buck)

The Rolling Stones
4/5
The runtime for this put me off a bit but I ended up enjoying this. Mick Jagger's vocals always shine through when he's at his peak and this album proves so. If someone were to ask me what would be my go to album rock and roll I'd definitely tell em all about this.
Best - Rocks Off, Tumbling Dice, Ventilator Blues, Stop Breaking Down, and Shine A Light

This was a solid listen. I really liked the slow pacing of it all. The melancholy mood throughout the album reminded me of Brian Wilson. There were some mid songs here and there but overall it was good.

Marvin Gaye
5/5
This album is soul-healing. It is my go-to album whenever I feel at odds with the world or seek peace and spirituality. There is no question that this album has influenced me as a person. The topics he speaks about are still relevant in today's world. The evil that we as a collective let foster throughout this world is unprecedented. The division I see daily in our world is heartbreaking. Albums like these always help me stay hopeful for the future—our future.
Best - What's Going On, What's Happening Brother, Flyin' High (In The Friendly Sky), God Is Love, Mercy Mercy Me, Inner City Blues (Makes Me Wanna Holler)
Worst - absolutely no bad songs

Arcade Fire
3/5
Honestly, for me personally this was overwhelming to listen to from a production standpoint. There is A LOT going on in this. From the boisterous piano to the exquisite orchestra you really get put front and center into the chaotic world of this band. However, as glorious and awe-inspiring as this album was I really don't see myself listening to this in my everyday life. It was still a heck of an experience to listen to though.
Best - Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels), Crown of Love, Wake Up, Rebellion (Lies), and In The Backseat
Worst - no bad songs
3.50/5
David Bowie
4/5
Great listen. I was expecting more but I know that not every album is gonna be a masterpiece. This has some solid songs throughout to compensate. David Bowie's sound never deteriorates and it just keeps going forward.
Best - Changes, Oh! You Pretty Things, Life on Mars, Quicksand, and Song for Bob Dylan
Worst - Eight Line Poem and Andy Warhol
3.50-3.75/5
Beck
4/5
This album was honestly way better than I expected. It has some notably catchy songs being the first two but the overall sound is really something I admire. The charm that Beck brings into the album really establishes a cohesive well thought-out album. Great listen!

PJ Harvey
2/5
One of the most wishy-washy albums I've heard so far. I'm sure there is plenty to like about this album but I really couldn't gauge what PJ was going for on this album. The poetry/lyricism felt tacky and mediocre for a majority of the album. The vocals also seemed substandard. Idk man listen to the first 15-30 secs of England and you tell me if that slaps. The production was at least very solid but besides that it was all mid.
Top 3 Fav: no favorites
1.75-2.25/5
Top 3 Worst: England (solos), Bitter Branches, and Written On The Forehead

A wonderful album throughout its entirety. It's soulful, introspective, and rhythmically astonishing the way all the instruments bounce off each other. It has all qualities of masterfully made album. Simply beautiful.

Top 3 Worst: no bad songs at all

ABBA
4/5
For a 70's disco pop record it was about what I expected. It had lots of fun and catchy songs throughout. The synergy between the two singers really elevates the overall sound and feel of it all. Even less popular songs on it were fun to listen to.

First off, I must say Solomon's voice carries so damn hard. That shit is immaculate. It's rare that I find a bad soul album from this particular decade and this is without exception. Great album!

This album had its fair share of highs and lows. I liked how it started with their first song (Stand!) but that second track kinda halted the momentum for me. They could've at least switched up the lyrics at bit more instead saying the same shit for like 3 mins, maybe give it something with more substance. But luckily they pick it back up with the third track. I liked a majority of the tracks on here. Sex Machine was a bit too long for my liking but at least it was tolerable. Overall it was a good album but it definitely could've been better.
Top 3 Fav: Sing A Simple Song, Everyday People, and Stand!
Top 3 Worst: Don't Call Me Nigger, Whitey, Sex Machine and that's it fr

3/5
Artistically, this album was densely packed with vibrant and interesting sounds that really makes it stand out. The Indian samples were also a cool touch that added flavor and depth to the tracks. With it being diverse it definitely requires an acquired taste since I can see how many people would put this off since it sounds so different. With that being said I personally don't see myself listening to this album religiously but a few of these songs are definitely going in the playlist.
Top 3 Fav: Come Around, Paper Planes, and Boyz

On one hand, I respect the experimentation on this album, but on the other, I can't see any of its value. It was annoying and unpleasant to listen to at times, but mostly, it just confused me. Don't get me wrong; there are some good songs on here, but I wish the experimenting that went on didn't feel so lackluster.

Top 3 Worst: C.T.A. - 102, Thoughts And Words, and Mind Gardens

I really expected something better than what I got. I do enjoy fusion albums; in fact I love fusion albums but only when they are done right. A shitty blend of funk, rock, and rap with no drive that leaves a sour taste in your mouth. Not to mention the nonsensical goofy ass lyrics (take a good look at the lyrics for Sir Psycho Sexy and you'll know) and the mediocre vocal performance. Although some of the production I thought was decent, the guitar specifically for me, and the bass as well but it can not make up for everything that I previously mentioned. Lame ahh album.
Top 3 Fav: It's all mid no good songs
Top 3 Worst: Sir Psycho Sexy (Easily the worst), Give it Away (Close 2nd), and Suck My Kiss

Paul McCartney
3/5
As a McCartney glazer myself, this was a nice relisten. Paul's amateurish qualities really help the album. Although some of the songs are lackluster in quality overall, you end up with a more personal and informal piece of work, which I love. Plus, when you hear the songs that do hit, it makes up for some of the mid that is on here.
Top 3 Fav: Junk, Every Night, and Maybe I'm Amazed
Top 3 Worst: no bad songs but their was some mid

It started off great with the first few songs but the momentum never came back. You're just left with a one-sided monotonous sound that doesn't really go anywhere. There are some really great tracks on here but I expected something more. On top of that you gotta deal with those corny ass lyrics. Very good but still a tad bit disappointing.

A decent album, but not decent enough to warrant a 1 hr and 13 min listen. There are some good songs on here but man I'd be lying if said I didn't fall asleep a few times listening to this. It's about what you would expect from a Marvin Gaye record. Soulful singing with some whining thrown in there but overall making for a memorable listening experience.

So many bangers on here man. There really isn't anything to dislike besides The Lemon Song to a certain degree but other than that goated album.
Top 3 Best: Ramble On, Heartbreaker, and Thank You
Top 1 Worst: The only slightly mid song on here is The Lemon Song. The lyrics are corny and suggestive but the production carries so damn hard that I truly don't think it's bad.
The Jam

Paul Weller's charm really comes through on this album. I didn't expect much but the infectious pop punk vibe on album said otherwise, this was really something. Notably I liked the bass on Start! heavily inspired by Taxman. Very good album.

I was expecting a tad bit more from this. There are some phenomenal songs on here but if we include the filler the quality goes down slightly. Cutting a few songs on here would have made this way better. The subject matter gets a bit stale here and there. That being said I wouldn't say that are any bad songs on here (not even mid). I'm conflicted on this but overall this was a great listen and I highly recommend that anyone who enjoys hip-hop should listen to this (if you haven't already).
Top 3 Best: Dear Mama (easily), So Much Tears, and Can U Get Away (so underrated)

Nine Inch Nails
2/5
It didn't resonate with me all that well. The beginning of it was pretty rough although some of the songs throughout the album were at least decent. The underlying themes of darkness, brutalism, and all the sort I didn't care for. On top of that you add the harsh (hard liquor without a chaser) vocals and the industrial production you basically get what is expected in this type of genre. I'll at least acknowledge that there were definitely some aspects of the production that separate it from the rest but I mean other than that this album was just not my cup of tea.

This album grew on me quite a bit. At first the peculiar vibe left me a bit disconnected from it but when you really dive into it you get to see something really special. The production on this was phenomenal, the meticulous detail on the marvelous sounds, and the poetic lyrics it adds a great depth that I couldn't quite see in my previous listens. Very solid.

Probably my favorite album from these fellas so far, it's such a strong debut.

It's just your typical 80s synth-pop with some disco grooves and other intriguing instrumentation. The album itself has an exaggerated feel, and I love that. Now, by no means would I say this is peak, but if you enjoy some 80s pop music, then you're going to love this!

Awesome debut from Iron Maiden. Everything on this album rocks, the god-tier guitar work, the ripping energetic drums that play in sync with the guitar, the bass, and the vocals from Paul Di'Anno (rip the goat). Even the few songs where they get melodic and kinda chill out for a bit before it goes back to Rock City. A must listen for anyone who loves heavy metal and rock if they haven't already listened.

This guy's lore is so fucking fire. Man was a political activist against the corrupt government (who after his repeated criticisms raided his commune, destroyed his shit, beat his ass close to death, killed his mom, and after all that bullshit still kept making music for the people), had over 20 wives, and made some amazing politically charged music that inspired a nation. This album being the main reason why he was raided and attacked by government also resulting in the death of his mother. Absolute legend among men.

This album has always had me scratching my head over the years, I could never really understand it until now. The diversion of the status quo, the lyrical content (that was taboo during its time), and the overall themes it covered that was just wasn't seen in any other album making it so unique and influential as a result. With all that being said this is the most overrated album of all time and it just so happens to be a pretty good listen.

Sleeper, uninspired, and innocuous if you could condense it all into one album. I really tried vibing with this but it was all in vain. There really isn't much to say about this other than I wish it was better and it wasn't so corny at times.

Killer intro track diving straight into it. The track after it I personally couldn't vibe with it too well but every song after it is at minimum good. The last four songs on here really showcases Perry Farrell's artistry to a tee. The passion, the raw emotions delving into his grief, that solemnness, and everything in between.
Top 3 Favorites: Been Caught Stealing, Three Days, and Then She Did...
Only less than good song is No One's Leaving (calling bad would be a little too harsh imo) only because it heavily reminds me of RHCP and it brings my mood down a bit.

Plenty of great songs on here but I was expecting something a bit more. Like the first 6 tracks are notably pretty good but after that the tracks just get weaker and my retention for it goes down as well. Not saying their bad but just that there was some untapped potential there. All in all it was still a pretty good album.

First few songs I liked, after My Oh My the rest of it felt bland and so uninspired. There's something specially annoying the way this guy repeats his lyrics incessantly, it's very apparent on Sail Away. I really wanted to give this a 3 but there is no shot after listening to all of that.

Some unbelievably beautiful and poetic songwriting on this album, it really just makes you stop for a second to take it all in. It's got fantastic production throughout all of it. Honestly, I thought the first track was pretty good but as I progressed through the rest of the album I just could not for the life of me care for this. This album had me in daze because I figured this was gonna be a rough listen considering how rough Billie's voice sounded at times, like you can hear how strenuous sounds for her but it genuinely gives the listening experience more depth, character, and feeling. Beautiful. This was a fantastic listen, what's really amazing is the equal collaboration effort between these two men. Brian Johnson going crazy on the flute AND the piano, shit was so gorgeous listening to it. Then you got Gil Scott-Heron with the heartfelt, meaningful, and potent poetry across the entire album. Both of them were inspirations to each other and as a result we got Winter In America. Also as a nice bonus I noticed a few songs on here that were sampled. A wonderful listen.

This album hit harder than I expected, I came into this album with low expectations because when I saw it was listed as rap rock and my mind went straight to RHCP and a flow of disappointment rushed over me. Thankfully it was nothing like that. Chester's vocals on this are so damn immaculate, it's the best achievement on this record (RIP to the legend). Only second to the production of course. Having listened to couple of mellow records previously this was a nice breath of fresh air. Hard-hitting, conscious, and manic. This was a great listen.

The opening track was not it, a straight minute of noise from a violin that leads into some over the top introduction. After that things definitely got better, the soft ambience that casted across most of the songs was nice (albeit repetitive at times). I do enjoy baroque pop every now and then but this album was a bit too classical for my taste. Not to say this was bad in fact I did like a majority of the songs on here. A great album for those who like a mix of classical, pop, and a bit of homosexuality.

After listening for a few this album grew on me slightly. While I do believe that a majority of the album was quite timid, the few tracks that stand out stand out decently well. Alright, I was so ready to give this a 3 and call it day but there was a review on here highlighting the importance of the lyrics on here. So I dug deep into the irony, the wit, humor, the biblical references/references in general and political discourse within the songs on here. I now have a newfound respect and sorta admiration for this album. I wont lie there's still a decent amount to dislike about the album. You got Dylan's voice (which honestly grew on me after a little), the way some songs on here drag from time to time, the production on a few of the tracks being one note and just not offering much to the imagination, and the harmonica that gets incessant and overwhelming. Researching on the references nearly put me to sleep a few times, it was both interesting and boring at a same time (an oxymoron wth?). But through all of that I found myself learning about things and ideas I had not previously thought before. I am better a critical thinker now than was before I listened to this. Of course we can't forget the masterful songwriting and poeticism. Bottom line is that if you don't care at all for the lyricism on this you should skip this but on the upside that you do care please enjoy it to your heart's content.

Absolutely stunning album, I love the thought-provoking commentary throughout the album with Curtis critiquing on the various issues plaguing the black community. At some parts you get smooth, sensual, and blissful. Most of the album is hard hitting, thoughtful, soulful, funky, and a dash of spirituality thrown in there. Great overall.

I got so thrown off by the intro I began to have doubts listening to this, then Shake Your Rump just hit me in the face like an aluminum baseball bat. The boisterous and captivating aura flowing from this album is unbelievable. On top of that you got some amazing samples that just come out of nowhere like they sampled The Beatles, Mountain, and so much more. A cool thing to note is the influence that this album had on legends like J Dilla and MF DOOM (some of my favorite artists/producers). Wonderful listen.

First off, I love the vocal performance from Siouxsie. She brings an enthralling and commanding tone that can heard throughout the album. It started off great with Spellbound but when it gets past Monitor every song just feels like a rinse and repeat of everything listened to so far. It's not so much that is bad but it's that it's mediocre and disappointing. Overall it was still pretty good.

Depeche Mode
3/5
I had only known Depeche Mode through their one song "Personal Jesus" which I liked quite a bit. You can really hear the aging on this album but just because it's dated don't mean there weren't some enjoyable songs on here. It has a certain charm to it that anyone that enjoys 80s music overall could enjoy. At the very least it didn't make me want to fall asleep compared to the other albums on this list. Overall it was pretty good.

Stevie Wonder
5/5
Sure, you can argue about how long the album is or maybe how some of songs drag on just a bit but none of that matters when you take a look into how cohesive, mesmerizing, joyful, and perfectly produced this album is. There isn't a single dud on here and considering how stacked this album that is an insane feat. God bless Stevie Wonder.
Top 5 (in no order): Knock Me Off My Feet, Sir Duke, Isn't She Lovely (Best), Another Star, Love's In Need Of Love Today

You can definitely hear their influence on the many artists that would came after. For me personally nothing really stuck out to me. It's got a nice energy and vibe to it but the listening experience as a whole felt drab and lackluster since I heard nearly the same stuff before. Not to say that the album was bad but it was just, fine. Good if you will. It does have a fire album cover though.

A classic punk rock album for the masses. It's minimalistic and in your face approach does wonders. I do wish that there was a slight bit of diversity to kind of mix things up a bit but it does well with what it's trying to achieve.

9 interludes?? Really? Apart from the excessive amount of interludes I did enjoy this album for most part. Starts a tad slow but with enough listens you can catch the atmosphere, the nice vibe, and the cohesiveness that it brings.

This was one of the album listens of all time. I don't know how this album has made me feel at this moment but it seems to be more positive than negative. You could fall asleep at some moments and then be wildly intrigued at other moments. Take for instance the near 20 MIN song that was "Bel Air" it's exactly as it seems but mostly intriguing. I enjoyed this experience. As for the album, it's quite difficult to say.
Top 2: Future Days and Bel Air
No bad songs (maybe the first half of Spray but I still wouldn't consider the song itself bad)
3.0-3.5/5
The Jesus And Mary Chain
2/5
There is some good on here but the abrasive production just ruins it. You'll get some nice, chill, and almost ethereal song then you get hit with some songs that sound like nails against the chalkboard. Them going in-between nice and soft music to the abrasive almost rage inducing makes me want to vomit, it's sickening.
Top 2: Just Like Honey and Cut Dead(Best)
Worst: Taste The Floor, In A Hole (fuck this song), and Never Understand

Bob Dylan
3/5
Lyrically dense, as always with this guy. Of course it is quite a chore figuring out all the references and illusions that are scattered throughout this. Tantalizing as ever it enhances and butchers the album listening experience. I respect the artistry and poeticism that he bestows but man I just got done listening to Highway 61 Revisited and fuck I need a breather. With all this being said this was still a good listen and perhaps I'll come back to it when I get to.
Top 4: Subterranean Homesick Blues, She Belongs To Me, Love Minus Zero, and Mr. Tambourine Man (did not this was covered :P)

Spectacular as always when it comes to Led Zeppelin. That bluesy hard rock feel they got is just immaculate. For me I wouldn't say that this record is perfect but their discography is extensive with so many bangers it's hard to find fault in many of the songs on here (besides their closer). Great record and a great listen.
Top 5: Since I've Been Loving You(Best), Out of The Tiles (The drums on this are so fucking fire), Immigrant Song(close second), Gallows Pole, and Tangerine
No bad songs (there's an argument to be made for Hats off To (Roy) Harper but it isn't bad however it 100% felt like filler)

Marvin Gaye
5/5
The title track had me a bit suspicious but this ended up being a fantastic listen. Marvin Gaye was 1000% in his bag when he cooked up this banger. Not to mention that this was a short and sweet album with a runtime of 31 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised how charming this album would end up being.

Started off with a banger and then proceeds to dish out more bangers. The production is dirty but in the best way possible. The vocals were immaculate with some decent range that beefed up the album as a whole. This was a great listen. Shoutout to Radio X for putting me on early on.

I had a friend who was telling to give this album a listen a few months back. Sure enough I finally got it but I can't even lie my disappointment is immeasurable. From the beginning I wanted to like/love this album so bad but I just can't. My biggest complaint is the production, sure the rhymes were pretty good, great even, but when you put good rhymes over a decent/mid beat I can not find a fuck to give when listening. Maybe they thought the minimal and bare bones production combined with the dark, gritty, and grounded atmosphere meshed well together. Also the heavy reliance on those movie samples really doesn't do it for me. There were definitely some standouts that made the album a bit more enjoyable but that 55 min runtime felt more like an 1 1/2 hrs. With all of this being said I do not think this is mid or bad. I was just hoping for some really fire beats but ended up getting something completely different.
Top 3: Shadowboxin', 4th Chamber, and Cold World
no bad songs there's definitely some mid here don't care to mention

This is kinda like stale bread. Like, sure I'll eat it but a well-rounded meal would be way better. There wasn't anything to like or dislike about this album. This is about as average as average 90s music gets. Overall it's just mid, maybe some decent to good songs are in there but none that I can see from my POV.

This record had some nice songs for a short album. The harmonies between these two fellas was pretty great. The subject matter gets a tad bit old every now and then but if you can ignore that then this is a pretty good album honestly.
Top 3: Love Hurts, Cathy's Clown, and Always It's You

The production on here was very good. The vocals from Morrissey were charming as ever. Some questionable lyrics here and there but I liked this a lot more than I thought I would.

I've been meaning to listen to Jimi's discography for a fat minute and the fact that I got his debut first, surely it must be fate. This is so unbelievably peak. There is too much to love and nothing to hate.
Majority (if not all) of the songs on here are bangers

Upon relistening, I think this album was great. The production (when it comes to Stevie) is superb as always. It does get sorta cheesy at times but I thought it positively added on to the vibes of the album. Maybe there are a few songs you could nitpick but overall this was fye.
Top 3: You Are the Sunshine of My Life, You and I, and Blame It on the Sun

I wasn't too familiar with Damon Albarn's work before Gorillaz, but with that being said I really enjoyed this record. The majority of this album was quite lovely. I was initially a bit put off from listening to another Britpop record but I was pleasantly surprised having listened to this a few times. There are a few songs that get a tad too wacky at times excluding that this was a fun listening experience. I'd prefer listening to this over Oasis. These gents sure know how to play some smashing tunes.

I didn't really care for this album. It wasn't that it was bad but that it was an amalgamation of sounds and noises. If unfinished thoughts were an album this would be it. The listening experience was pleasant enough but I don't see myself listening to this at all in the future. Plenty of mid to go around though.
Top 2: On The Surface and Dub Housing
lots of mid that I don't care to type out

After multiple listens I gotta say, these fellas do not miss! I loved their first album and I loved their second. I can't put my finger on what so spectacular about this here album but that magic fairy dust that they sprinkled on this album is there, somewhere. Wonderful listen as always.

Honestly, this was about what I expected. Classic hip hop with captivating MC's and awesome jazz influences thrown in there. There's a few songs in here that feel like filler or that they were thrown into the album that made the album feel less cohesive. I still really liked this though. Phife and Q-Tip do a lot with carrying the album with their vocal performance especially with minimalistic approach they took with the production. The minimalistic approach with production is not something I'm usually a fan of but worked out well on this. They really worked their magic on this record. Great listen!
Top 5: Butter, Excursions, Verses From The Abstract, Check The Rhime, and Scenario (unexpected banger)
no bad songs maybe one or two mid songs but nothing bad

There is beauty in the sadness being put on display on this album. My first initial reaction to this was confusion as to why everyone sung praises about this. It took a few days to process but after few listens you can start to piece together what this album is really about. Those feeling of intimacy hits you straight away when you dive into this. Looking into Joni's lore you can understand her thought process and reasoning behind creating this. Take Little Green for instance, it's so damn heartbreaking. Having to put your daughter up for adoption because the father doesn't want to have anything to do with her and you the mother are too poor to take care of her. Getting to a point in your life when you aren't afraid to just lay all that sadness all on the table. Then you create some beautiful art that is Blue.

The introduction was pretty ass to start off the album. It got better though but not nearly enough that it changed my perception of this. There are some decent tracks on here but the listening experience as a whole just felt forgettable. I liked the vocals, the production was fine, and the lyrics did nothing for me. I wish it had more to offer in terms of variety because at least then I wouldn't have been so bored listening to this.
Top 3: Car Song, S.O.F.T, and Stutter
Worst: Line Up and lots of mid to top it off

I did not at all care for the constant yapping that went on and on from start to finish. Shitty jokes and a sleazy personality is all I get from this guy. I get that that's the bit but lord if I wanted to get a good laugh I'd turn on Spongebob and not this. I will say the band was putting in overtime with the splendid production they laid down on here. Unfortunately it doesn't water down all the crappy comedy improv I had to listen to for over an hour.

Honestly, this was a vibe. Yeah, a majority of the songs sound the same but the repetitiveness did not bother me at all. It's solid reggae music at it's core and I'd comfortably say I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. How one would bridge the gap between this being boring and chill is a feat but I really liked the subtlety of this record. Throwing in the politically charged lyrics and most definitely this was a solid listen.

As soon as I heard that opening track I knew I was in for some absolute fire. This album was as beautiful as you'd expect. Groovy, buttery smooth, and so damn sensual. The passion coming from this man could rival the likes of Marvin Gaye, Barry White, and the many soul brothers that have walked this earth. That opening track was just cinematic. And all the tracks that followed were great as well. I will admit the last track had me worried because of the semi excessive dialogue but when he finally got to singing and those violins came in, I was reeled back in. A gorgeous record through and through.

Not bad but it ain't nothing to write home about. The abrasive, explicit, and rough around the edges vibe you get from this may probably be mentally stimulating for some but it unfortunately was not for me. I kinda got nothing from this in terms of it being brain stimulating but still I wouldn't say this was bad.

Having already listened to In The Street I figured this was gonna be a pretty good album but I was wrong. This was great, way better than I could have imagined. There is literally nothing bad I could say about this album. I guess you could complain about the slight overuse of ballads on here but barring that. The songwriting, the flawless production, and the just the cohesiveness of it is just wonderful. Even the so called filler on this was nice to listen to. This was a treat.

James Brown
3/5
I'm very conflicted by this record, the whole listening experience for me just felt underwhelming and not as explosive as I'd thought it would be. As I understand James Brown was considered by many as being "That Guy" he influenced countless pop stars, was a progenitor of many genres of music, and grew impressive reputation that even those at the top could only dream of. It feels blasphemous saying this but I really don't know what I was expecting out of this. Maybe it's crowd going a little too crazy, maybe it's the instruments not hitting hard enough, or maybe it's just me not understanding the time period well enough to appreciate this record. In any case this record was not bad or mid but I just expecting something more. I'll look further into this.

I will say EC will always have my respect for being one of the best guitar players to live (not better than Jimi) but this album did a good job at almost putting me to sleep. That soft and mellow vibe felt almost too much for me. I was also unaware at the many cover songs on here barring I Shot The Sheriff. It would be ingenuine to say that this was bad but it came kinda close.
Top 3: I Shot The Sheriff, Please Be With Me, and Let It Grow
No bad songs, lots of mid though.
2.75-3.25/5
Eurythmics
3/5
Better than I expected honestly. It's got a weird vibe to it including the cool synths that made it semi memorable. I do agree that some tracks on here drag on and maybe they get a little too silly (see This Is The House) but there's nothing really to hate. The title track of course will always be a banger.
3.00-3.50/5
Fats Domino
3/5
This was nice and easy listening. Major respects to one of the great pioneers of rock & roll but this was a bit too timid for me, groundbreaking for its time I'm sure. There isn't really anything to hate from this. Overall, good listen!
3.00-3.25/5
Neil Young
3/5
This album was a mixed bag for me. Lots of good and lots of mid. While I do admire the rawness and sincerity being put on display here, I just can't let that production slide (sorta). I didn't care for the title track (even though it wasn't really bad per se) and there were lots of songs on here that just didn't do much for me. I like Neil Young but this album in particular just barely missed the mark for me. My level of engagement with this album was unfortunately something I couldn't anticipate. However, considering this is Neil Young I'll say it could've been way worse. Overall, twas' an ok to fine listen, nothing too crazy.
Top 3: Borrowed Tune, Come On Baby Let's Go Downtown, and Mellow My Mind
No bad songs but there was plenty of mid
2.50-3.00/5
Dolly Parton
3/5
Pretty solid and a short runtime too which is always a plus. It got a little worse after multiple listens since everything sounded the same. Luckily, Dolly carries with her vocals and songwriting so there wasn't anything to hate.
Top 3: Coat Of Many Colors, Early Morning Breeze, and The Way I See You
3.50/5

3/5
I initially really liked what this album was going for when I heard the first track, it resonated with me a lot honestly. The comedic aspect of this album helps this album sound better than it really does. The songwriting as well was something to be admired but the one thing that got on my nerves was the production. Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad or even mid but it just doesn't hold a candle to the other positive aspects of this album. There were some great tracks on here but I'd lying if I said I didn't almost doze off once or twice listening to this.
Top 5: Illegal Smile, Spanish Pipedream, Sam Stone, Pretty Good, and Angel from Montgomery
no bad songs
3.55/5
Steve Winwood
3/5
This wasn't too shabby. Like yeah, it's corny and it's a tad bit cheesy but it ain't bad. It's got a certain charm that I guess most people on here don't care for. I was really expecting worst than I got. The title track was a vibe and the first half of the album clears. Not great but definitely not bad.
Top 3 (in order): Arc Of A Diver, While You See A Chance, and Second-Hand Woman
3.25-3.50/5
Johnny Cash
5/5
One of the best live albums ever made. Johnny's charisma, crowd presence, and vocals made this damn near perfect. Truly iconic.
Top 5: Folsom Prison Blues, Cocaine Blues, Orange Blossom Blues, I Got Stripes, and Greystone Chapel
4.50-4.75/5
Deerhunter
3/5
Getting into the first track I like the sonics of it but the distorted vocals felt bothersome. That unfortunately plagues the entire album. The production was a highlight though and it establishes the lowkey, dreamy, and mellow vibe that the album was going for. The songs that stand out, stand out fine but any of the other songs on here I just don't care for em. At the very least it had a great outro. Overall, it was a solid album.
Top 3: Helicopter, Revival, and He Would Have Laughed
Worst: Sailing and Basement Scene
3.00-3.50/5

The introduction leading into Jump was fire. You get hit with banger after banger and they keep that high energy right til the end. However I start detract from the 80's hair metal repetition after Drop Dead Legs. Not that the rest after were bad but that it felt too much. The production was great and this was still a great listen.
Top 4: Jump, Panama, Top Jimmy, and Drop Dead Legs

I listened to this a lil over a yr ago and this album still goes hard. I was super skeptical listening to this because of the weird experimentation going on and it's popularity surrounding this. It took a while for this album grow on me but I'm finally convinced. The seamless transitions between the tracks, the way that it feels like there's a lot going on but it's still compact and cohesive, and the wonderful vocals that complement the production. There is no reason why one couldn't see this as a great work of art in the world of music. 'Twas a pleasure.

This album has it's ups and downs but for the most part it was a decent to good listen. You got their classic "Groove Is In The Heart" but aside from a few songs there really ain't much to say. It's groovy, unique, and fun. Nothing to blow my mind but it was still nice.
Top 3: Power Of Love, Smile On, and Groove Is In The Heart
Worst: Build The Bridge (this the type of shit you'd hear in a mid retro game)
3.00-3.25/5
Fleet Foxes

Wasn't expecting much but honestly, this turned out great. It leans heavy into the vocals which may turn off some but I though it was quite nice. It's peaceful, solemn, and spiritual. Though there is something that I can't quite put my finger on that makes me want to be more critical of this album, eh either way this was a great listen. Very replayable!

This is about what I expected. You can definitely hear that 60s british pop influence and along with the punk feel it makes for a decent combo. Nothing crazy though for me personally.
Top 3: I Wanna Destroy You, Positive Vibrations, and Underwater Moonlight
Worst: Old Pervert
2.75-3.25/5
Beatles
4/5
There's a decent amount of great tracks on here. Considering how stacked The Beatles' discography this is definitely an underrated cut from these fellas. I enjoy their early stuff but when you get to Rubber Soul in their discography that when shit starts getting real. Getting back my actual opinion this is great. You really start to understand why the John/Paul songwriting duo was a force to be reckoned with. Lots of charm, lots of charm, and teenage hormones. Great listen!
Top 5: A Hard Day's Night, If I Fell (fav), And I Love Her, Tell Me Why, Can't Buy Me Love

Prefab Sprout

There was a rather pleasant listen. The use of synths really complement the themes at play here. It's lowkey, it's nice, and agreeable. You could argue that it's boring but they ride that line very nicely imo. Nothing crazy but it was still nice to listen.
Top 5: Faron Young, Bonny, Appetite, When Love Breaks Down, and When the Angels
no bad songs probably some mid if dig deep, kinda felt okish
3.25-3.50/5
The Clash

Apart from this album almost putting me to sleep and the long runtime this was pretty good. The title track was a great start then after that it was a series of highs and lows. Songs like Spanish Bombs, The Guns of Brixton, and a few others on here were refreshingly unique to listen to. The only downside to the album and I guess punk in general is when the songs start sounding the same or get too repetitive it puts me to bed faster than any lullaby ever could. Still, I'd be lying if said this was bad. Overall, a very good listen.
Top 5: London Calling, Rudie Can't Fall, Spanish Bombs (favorite), and The Guns of Brixton
Couple of mid songs but nothing bad
3.50/5
Deep Purple
4/5
I honestly can't complain, most of the tracks here are pretty great. Maybe one or two sleepers on here but this was quality listening material. An above average hard rock album if I'd ever heard.
Top 4: Highway Star, Smoke On The Water, Space Truckin' , and When A Blind Man Cries
3.50-3.75/5
Kate Bush
3/5
While I do agree that this album does get better with the more listens, for me at least, the curve when the album seems to be getting slightly better and better just goes stagnant and it hits a plateau. I respect and admire the creative risks taken in this. You can even hear the influence this album had on the next generation of female artists.
Something about this album perplexes me because as far as the artistic direction it is great, but when I put it all together the lack of cohesion makes me feel distant. Overall, this was a GOOD album.
Top 3: Suspended In Gaffa, Leave It Open, and Night Of The Swallow
2.75-3.25/5
Slint
3/5
This album is "interesting" like it's not bad but it's somewhere in the middle of being mid and really good. It's just good. To be fair there are some cool moments in there but there's really wasn't enough that really scratched my itch. At the very least it was intriguing enough that it felt digestible from start to finish. Overall, it was a GOOD album.
Top 3: Breadcrumb Trail, Washer, and Good Morning, Captain
3.25-3.50/5
Deep Purple

This album was pretty great but holy shit man. I just listened to Machine Head a few albums ago. This shit feels like cheating. Maybe these albums were part of the OG list but deadass why couldn't they just pick one or other. I can't in good conscience give this the same rating as Machine Head.
All this being said though this album was still fire.
