1001 Albums Summary

Aika perus rokkia. Ok albumi, mutta ei herättänyt isompia tunteita. Paljon klassikoita. Basic hard rock. Ok album but didn't make me go "Wow, this is incredible" at any point. Has plenty of classics.

Rap musiikki ei oikein itselleni kolahda joten se hieman laskee arviota. Mutta albumilla oli hyviä kappaleita ja kokonaisuus lyhyiden "välikappaleiden" kanssa oli minusta hyvin toteutettu. Rap music is not what I listen to so that affects the overall rating. But the album had good songs and I liked the idea of the shorter interlude songs and they made the listening not feel a slog.

Ok album for a person who doesn't listen to or like rap. Few songs I had to skip cause they were too damn long for my taste.

Good bluesy album. Enjoyed the whole album. Nothing ground breaking.

Good album. Great singing, instrumental playing and groove.

I had never heard of the band before but the album was a pleasure to listen to. Interesting songs and enjoyed everyone of them. Solid "This is good" album but not "Wow this blew my mind" album.

Nice soundscape with synths, bass, drums and guitar. The singers voice wasn't to my liking in the first two songs but as I kept listening it found its place in the sound. Overall nice listening experience.

Strange one. Most of the songs got me thinking what is going on here. Definitely an interesting album to listen to but not really something I would listen to for enjoyment.

Absolut classic. Perfect album to just sit down, relax and just enjoy the moment.

Only heard Aqualung from the album but was pleasently pleased with the whole album. Loved the pan flute on the songs. Would listen again.

Truly genius album. The first song is such a masterpiece. If you like progressive music you have to give this album a listen.

Ok album. Pleasant to listen to but nothing major for my own tastes. Definitely would recommend to anyone who likes classic rock.

Strange and interesting album. Had to give it two listens which definitely helped. With the first listen I would have rated this as 2 but the second go bumped it to 3. Favorite track was 21st Centuruy Schizoid Man.

I am not a fan of hiphop but this was an ok experience.

I tried to like this and do like Bowies earlier works... but no. Had to really struggle to listen all the songs.

Ok album with pleasant songs. For me this was music that you can listen to when you are relaxing and just let it play on the background.

Ok oldies rock album. Not exactly what I would choose to listen to but I found enjoyment out of it. Best track was That'll Be The Day.

Ok album with smooth transitions from one song to another. Listened to this while doing other stuff and it seems like it is perfectly made for "background" music. Best track was Frontier Psychiatrist. Shout out to Radio as it was close second.

All and all a pleasent listening experience. Would listen to while relaxing and chattin with friends. Best song was either Nick of Time or I Will Not Be Denied.

Astonishing piano playing and definitely interesting listening experience. At times the solo piano felt a bit chaotic and two of the songs (the part 1 and part 2 a) were too long for my tastes. The song part 2 b was my favorite of the album and I think the last two songs (part 2 b and c) were amazing in general. Also as this was played improvised on the spot that is just amazing.

It was blues alright. Ok listening experience. Best track was Parchman Farm.

Interesting album. Had some grunge and desert rock vibes. Most of the songs had nice groove going on and I liked the different type of instruments that appeared on the tracks. Best song was Dime Western.

Good album with awesome feeling. This is perfect for moments where you just need to sit down and relax. Best song was Son of a Preacher Man.

Really meh album that wasn't to my liking. Songs felt dull and too long or dull and short. The album did get better towards the end. Favorite track was Cold.

I liked this album. Had heard Immigrant Song and Since I've Been Loving You before but the whole album is interesting and enjoyable experience. Awsome groove and all instruments go together lovely. Hard to choose the best track as they all were great, but on the first listening I enjoyed Gallows Pole the most.

Wow. This was such a wierd album. The first 7 songs were actually ok and some of them good. Then I was hit with track nr. 8 which on my album was Kanga Roo. Holy shit. What the absolute madness happened here? I read that the singer and drummer lost interest on doing the album and you can really hear it here from the drummer. The next song was also bad. Then it went on to being ok and bad from till the end. This album could've been 2 or 3 even if someone would've actually paid antention to what goes on to the album. Shame. Best song... I don't know, if I have to pick I would say Till The End Of The Day or Holocaust.

Good album overall. It had nice variation between songs. For rating I had trouble deciding between 3 and 4 but with the first listen I give it 3. Have to revisit this one and see if it gets bumped to 4. Best song was either Seven Seas of Rhye or Father to Son.

The fuzz sound and the higher tempo rock songs were to my liking and I wished there were more of this. Some of the slower songs felt dull. Best song was Highly Evolved.

Interesting album with good groove and vibe. I was not a fan of the singing at the start but it started working for me the longer I listened to the album. Favorite track was The Twilight Hour.

This was a really pleasant surprise. Have not heard any of the bands work before and this album really improved my mood. The synths were really good as well as the beats. I also loved the lead singers voice, just stunning. Best song was We Sink.

Raw and aggressive. As a metal head this is ok album but it didn't evoke bigger feelings. Hard to pick best song as they all were okeyish but I pick Don't Burn the Witch.

Wow. What the hell happened here. This was deeply wierd but with hints of some good shit. Reminded me of Primus, especially the male singer. I mean I did kinda like this but not sure I would ever play this volunterily at least not the whole album. Best song... well it has to be Rock Lobster. Shout out to There's A Moon In The Sky (Called The Moon) for just the lyrics alone.

Overall good album that I mostly enjoyed listening to. I feel like the album could've been a tad bit shorter. Best song was Ten Cent Pistol.

Ok album. Didn't like the ballads but all of the songs had something interesting going on in them. Also the album was way too long for my taste especially as the songs were ok at best.

Meh. All the songs were interesting in a purely scientific way but this was not a enjoyable listening experience. I'd definitely rather listen to something else.

Yeah... this was really forgettable album for me. There were some ok instrumentation but that is all. Not my thing.

This was a blast to listen to. Don't really listen to rap or like it to be honest but this one surprised me positively. The french rapping, grooves and everything worked for me. Best song was Matière grasse contre matière grise.

So this one was one of those albums where you go "Hmm what happened here?" There were some ok songs in this one but for most of them at some point I was wondering are the musicians even trying to perform their best. The last song was such a rollercoaster, it started good and decended in to ok and then to what am I listening territory. Maybe without the last song this could've been 2,5 but with it it is 1,5 and I'll round up.

Good album. Good groove and mood through out the whole album. Tutti frutti could've been left out from the album in my opinion as it was the worst track by far. Best track was Blue Suede Shoes

I grew up listening to Metallica but I have not listened this live show before... and this was a let down for me. The orchestra was too loud and more than once it sounded like I was listening to two different songs at the same time. Some orchestral bitsworked well in some songs, especially in the Load and Reload songs. But yeah this is not something I'd choose to listen to. 2,5 stars but I'm going to round this to 2.

Ok album that got me grooving on most of the tracks. Not something I would "actively" listen to but playing it while working and doing other stuff it worked. 2,5 and I will round up to 3. Best track was Lost In The K-Hole

Pleasent listening experience with nice vibes going on all the time. Definitely not the most exciting or interesting album in the world but can see my self listening to songs from this again. Best song was Green Flower Street. Amazing groove and vibe.

Ok. Wierd one but I did like it most of the time. I felt that the second half of the album could've been left out as it just turned the wierdness to 11 and that didn't work for me. I did dig the grooves and the first half of the album so I give this a 2,5/5 (rounding up to 3).

Hard to judge this album. Sinéads voice is beautiful and very pleasant to listen to but I also felt like some of the songs were not really thought through. The more 80s disco pop vibey songs felt like a slap to the face after calmer more intimate songs. I don't think I would listen to this whole album voluntarily but some of the songs I definitely would. The whole albums rating therefore is 2/5. Best song was I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got.

Awsome album. The sounds the groove the mixing, all just clicks and works. Hardest part was to choose best track but I suppose I'll go with Red Barchetta.

Ok album that didn't amaze me but didn't bother me. The album just felt kinda lukewarm. Don't think I would pick and choose to listen this again.

This album to me was mostly boring and just about listenable with few moments or parts of interesting stuff. I didn't like the singers and it put me off the most. Not for me. Best song was Through The Iron Gate but with lyrics I still wouldn't choose to listen to it voluntarily again.

Ok. This feels like even the artist didn't know what they wanted to make. Some interesting parts but mostly wierd stuff that didn't work for me. Best song was The Shining

Ok rap/rnb album. Listened this while working and noticed some nice groove and I enjoyed the singers voice. This wasn't something I'd listen to by choice but definitely wouldn't mind listening to this if someone would spin this up.

Ok groove and enjoyed the samples. Rapping was good but the lyrics were... well I could not relate to them. Also I think the album was too long. Best song was Suicidal Thoughts.

Ok, relaxing album that was pleasent to listen to but not really that interesting.

Decent brit rock (/punk perhaps?) album. Nice sound and decent grooves. Best song was On Wheels.

I did'n like this as much as I thought I would. The album felt too long and I didn't really get in to the albums concept. There was good stuff in the album and parts/songs I enjoyed but the experience in whole was... well a little meh. Would rate this 2.5/5 but I think it deserves 3 more than 2 when there is no half star option. Best song was Pinball Wizard.

Ok album. Dragged on a little too much and didn't leave me with sense of amazement.

Liked some parts of the albums songs but... this just wasn't for me. Might have given this album 3/5 if it would've been sub hour in lenght and a mish mash of some of the more thought out songs from the album but as it is it is 2/5. Best song was O Children.

I was positively surprised by the lsound of this album and the grooves. The singing wasn't to my liking and why on earth did the last song stretch on for as long as it did? Solid 2,5/5 and I'll round up to 3 stars as I was expecting this to be worse than it was. Best song was I Don't Mind or Fiction Romance.

Ok album with bunch of great songs and then bunch of not so great, in my opinion. Solid 3.

Solid blues album which I enjoyed listening to.

This one is tricky to rate. The album sounded awsome and it had loads of good songs in it. Corgans singing is an oddball. On some songs it fits perfectly and on some it is really hard to listen to. Also I get they wanted to make a huge album but... 2+ hours? For me this was too much especially as some of the songs felt a little like fillers. As it is the album is still a good album with awsome songs so solid 3/5. I have to try and give this another chance at some point (when I can spare 2 hours to go through the album) and see if the album climbs up to 4/5. Hard to pick best song as there were few candudates but I am going to say Jellybelly.

Easily forgettable album that just went by. Not to say this was bad album or anything but it was just forgettable. Best song was Barbarism begins at home.

Nothing bad to say about this. Enjoyed listening this. This isn't my go to music what I'd listen to but would happily listen this when I am chatting with friends or something similar.

Yeah... well the good things in this album were some of the samples and the music. The rapping was not that great in my opinion and the lyrics seemed like they were written by young teenager who has just discovered pornography. This wasn for me and I honestly can't understand why the lyrics were what they were.

I liked this one. Refreshing to hear rapping that uses other words than slurs or something related to sex. The beats and music were also to my liking. Would I listen to this volunteraly again? Maybe not but definitely wouldn't mind listening to this if it comes up from playlist or something. Best track was Check the Rime.

This was ok. A little too chaotic to my taste from time to time but the samplings of speeches worked really well. Also the beats made me nod to the groove with out my notice so plus from that. 2,5/5 and I round to 3 as this was another rap album that had something else than genitals and what to do with them on the lyrics.

I felt like I was being seduced by this album. The album made me feel comfortable and it talked to me sweetly and like I was the only person in the world listening to it when I was. Solid 3.

Not for me. Björks voice is phenomenal but that's all that's good here which is shame.

Absolutely phenomenal album. Sounds astonishing, playing is spot on and the groove and feel is just perfect. I had heard Sultans of Swing from the album before but oh boy I feel silly for not listening to the whole album before. Best song was Sultans of Swing but it was actually a hard choice.

I have to admit that I had heard of Lou Reed but didn't know that he was behind Perfect Day and Take a Walk On The Wildside. Solid album that I might listen to again. 3,5/5 that I'll round to 4.

Interesting album that was hard to rate. Some of the songs were really good and some of them I could've skipped. For me the start of the album was hardest to get through but from Starman onwards the songs worked. I'll give this one 3.

Beautiful album with lots of good stuff going on. I liked how the different instruments worked together with the singing. The atmosphere of the album was also top notch. Close call if I'd rate this 4 or 5. But I genuinly enjoyed this one and would happily tip my friend of this album so lets go with 5.

Wierd album that had nice grooves and sounds but also made me feel really uncomfortable at the same time on some songs. Hard to choose a best track here but it was probably Miles. Shout out to It's Business As Usual for genuinly creeping me out which was wierd feeling when listening to music.

Mellow and interesting album that didn't quite hook me. Nothing really wrong with this one but to me it needed maybe something more to make me go wow.

Great album with dream like feel to it. Only thing from making this 5/5 was the first song. It didn't hit me atleast on this first listening, but I will have to see what I say about it after another listening or two. Best track was A Survey.

Good album. Second album that I heard from A Tribe Called Quest and in my opinnion this wasn't as good as The Low End Theory but still a solid album. Liked the groove and rhythms.

This was good album that was pleasant to listen to and it also contained loads of interesting stuff in the songs. This was more to my taste than the previous Amnesiac that I listened from Radiohead. Best track was High and Dry.

This was good album that I enjoyed listening to. My initial thought when I saw that the lenght of the album was around 2 hours was "oh no not another dull and too long album" but while I was listening to the album it didn't feel too long. I really liked the jamming tracks at the end. I would rate this 3,5/5 and I round it up to 4.

This album starts off with a blast. 3 really good songs that got me already thinking of 4 or even 5 star rating. Sadly the rest of the album fall short for me. The songs weren't bad but they were just meh. I did enjoy listening to them but they didn' get to the same level as the first 3 tracks. Still thi is solid 3/5 album. Best track was Got Me Under Pressure.

This album just didn't work for me. It felt too long and the songs felt wierd and just thrown together with no thought. The only positive thing to me was the synth work on some songs like Editions Of You and In Every Drean Home A Heartache but as whole this album was a slog to get through.

Solid album with bunch of classics. The first two songs didn't hit me that hard but from there on the album was golden. Not quite 5 star material but definitely solid 4.

This was wierd. In Tidal in their bio they are titled as "electro-noise terrorists" and at times it definitely sounded like that. There were moments that sounded good but mostly it was just wall of noise to me atleast.

Great album but few of the songs were too long. Listening to 29 min song with most of it being soloing just made me zone out and the song just blurred to background noise. Nevertheless I still enjoyed this one and think it is a solid 3.

I don't really consider screaming and loud chaotic noises as music, which this album mostly consisted of. I was sure I would just skip the whole thing after the first few tracks... but to my surprise there were few ok/good songs. Shame that most of the album was whatever it was.

Moody album that requires the right time and place to really hit you. At best this was 3/5 but generally it was 2/5 material. As a final verdict I'll give it a 3. It was pleasant experience and might see myself listening to this again.

Really good album with just the right vibe. Not sure if it is cause of the Irish folk music aspect but what ever it was but I really enjoyed this one.
