This was delightful. At times I wished I were just listening to the album without needing to multitask, but the bright and lively samba actually kept me pretty driven while the jazzy, beachy vibes keep things feeling mellow and unrushed. It was kinda perfect for keeping my day flowing. Loved the flute.

There was some cool stuff here, but I really wasn’t feeling most of the songs and lyrics. “Turn to Stone”, “Standin’ in the Rain”, and “Wild West Hero” were standouts for me. Wish I could give it a 3.5, but 3 seems way too harsh, so a reluctant 4 it is…
Wild. Bob Dylan’s never really “clicked” for me, but this was weird and fun. Still not really my music style, but surprisingly funny. I don’t know that I’ll ever like it more than ironically, but this album was a good time.
Love the overall vibe. I can get why this is on the list. I think there’s only 3 or 4 songs I’d personally keep listening to, but I’m into the sound and feel.
Very freaking cool. I already knew a lot of this album but it was a blast to go through. Love this sound. Makes me feel like a fraud
Maaaaaaan. What a sick album to go through again. The compositions, the vocal dynamics, the groovy beats. Overall great production.
Ugh!! So good. Gorgeous and funky! Sick bass lines, groovy keyboards, multiple horns!! Breezy, floating vocals. This is everything.
Not my favorite style of vocals, but I dig this sound.
This might be a 4 in truth…
This had big “playing over the speakers in the craft store” energy… >_>
Definitely should be experienced along with the music videos. Totally part of the experience
I keep wanting to give this a 2 but the parts that aren’t a 2 are so far removed from a 2…worth checking out again
She bop, he bop, they bop. Bopology? The study of bop. All jokes aside that one WAS a bop
I was NAWT feeling this, but the vocals are lovely
Maaaaaan, idk. Maybe I could get into an earlier album more. A lot of other artists featured on here and they were great. Rick Ross was INCREDIBLE. Had some standout lines that will definitely make it into my regular usage. “I wear my pride on my sleeve like a bracelet If God had an iPod, I'd be on his playlist” “Cause you haters got PhDs Y'all just some major haters and some math minors“ “I call you bitch for short”— “you call me asshole for long”
Nostalgic and tragic lyrically. But not really my favorite to listen to
Some flashes of brilliance for sure. Heartbreaking and driving.
Wild vocals. Much respec’
“Once” is like the pathos of my wailing rebellious soul. I love this album
A blast from my past. This album is dear to me, but it’s soooo freaking fun and good. I hope everyone enjoys it. My heart is healed and lighter hearing this again
Okay. I tooootally get the controversy. Idk. Maybe it’s cause I listen to a lot of Jpop and am kinda used to awkward lyrics and line delivery, maybe it’s because it reminds me of listening to Metal Gear Solid music(probably that), but I had fun with it.
This was tough. The sound is pretty cool, but a couple of the song felt ultra similar and it took me a loooong time to get through. Kept having to take breaks and walk away from it. I don’t think it was just the lack of lyrics. I don’t know. Something was missing for me. Sometimes I wanted to give it a 2, I’d really hoped to give it a 4… so I guess a weird 3.
This is so weird. I feel like all the components are good, but I’m just not feeling it. I was bored and idk. It lacked something vital for me.
This was so much better than Licensed to Ill.
It’s wasted on me. But it’s got some neat-o history.
Gotta be in the mood for this. I should probably give this a 4 but I’m a hater.
Okay. I freaking love this.
Well it was better than Park Life
This was a rough one to get through as a certified Christina sleeper. “Welcome” and Nasty, Naughty Boy” had some of the best vocals I’ve heard in my life. “Welcome” was also just a really interesting production. I really wish she’d do less over singing and emulating others because she’s talented and those songs showcase what she’s capable of. Lyrically juvenile, at its best, mostly just vapid. Tragically vulgar when it should have been cheeky and playful. I want to deduct another star for how pretentious and obnoxious I find the title juxtaposed to what she gave us(I won’t). I get she meant her inspirational foundation. I don’t care. I think it was a mistake and I think it had a title like that because the album had nothing to say. What a waste. I could’ve listened to Alice Cooper today. #CertifiedHater
Debbie Harry’s vocals are incredible
This grew on me. Maybe mostly by reminding me of other music, but I like it. I probably wouldn’t seek it out, but I’d vibe to this again
What a waste. He’s so witty, but even here there’s a lot to disagree with
What!? Why is Licensed to Ill the only stuff I have to hear everywhere when this exists!?! Insane!!
This rating system is killing me. This is a 3.5 Maybe even a 4 that’s just not my flavor, but I guess we’re ranking it a 3.
This is a 3.5 I hate I can’t do half stars.
It’s a 3.5
A 3.5, but I can’t bring myself to give it a mere 3
What a gorgeous cover of Stardust. That alone makes me come back to this album.
I think this is a 2.5, but the vocal talent feels illegal to assign a 2 to so it’s probably a bland 3? It’s probably a 2
It keeps ALMOST doing something interesting and then drops it and goes back for the preset drumbeats
I saw someone else say DO NOT START with track 1 and yeah. Don’t do it. Besides that, it’s a pretty good time. Not as good as I got my hopes up for upon reading “Psychedelic, Jazz” but good
Great live vocals, but not the most interesting songs
It was okay. Not as bad as the reviews were prepping me for
I can’t believe they debuted with one of the greatest prog albums of all time just to make an effing JoJo reference…
Okay. Maybe I’m just digging the vocal vibe too much to notice anything else. New to Nick Cave. I’m vibin’ to his sound
