Great headphone album. Soundscapes are inventive and unpredictable. Bjork seems very vulnerable here. (Divorce album?)

30+ year old album that still sounds fresh and exciting. The Pixies informed 90's alt rock and in a way ALL alt-rock with this release. Best tracks: Debaser, There Goes My Gun, Silver
Peter Gabriel delivers an all-timer. Very poppy and accessible while still finding time for fun experimentation. There are booming, ethereal vocals and crisp synth instrumentation for days. Best tracks: Sledgehammer, Big Time, This is the Picture, In Your Eyes
Pretty great live record that transported me to a different time and place. The horns are eclectic and exciting and the band are able to produce some pretty wild sounds with their kit. The standout track is the percussion showcase Skin Deep, though the entire set is rock solid and as tight as any live album I've heard.
Very forward-thinking and ahead of its time for sure. Honed the acoustic vibes that would go on to influence 90's and 00's indie rock. Best tracks: Please Do Not Go, Add it up (shout-out T.H.U.G 2 soundtrack), To The Kill
Very relaxed and intimate guitar album. Kurt's voice doesn't miss a beat and the minimal instrumentation really helps highlight the song-writing. Best tracks: Polly, On a Plain, Plateau, Where Did You Sleep Last Night
The album is a pumping psychedelic machine fueled by Janis Joplin's unique and raw vocals. The rest of the band play their asses off too and sound like they were having a ton of fun ripping these tracks. The instrumentation is richly layered and a pleasure for anyone with ears for groovy and psychedelic experimentation.
Punk as it should be done. Very gritty and visceral. The kind of shit you can feel in your bones.
Pretty fun and dynamic rap/pop/rock album. Lyrics don't always hit home, but the latter half of the album has some incredible beats and instrumentation to make up for it.
Yes
Not a fan of this one. Mariah undeniably has talent, but I honestly couldn't distinguish one song from the next. They all just turn into overlapping vocal tracks over some pedestrian hip-hop beat. The cover of the Prince song is decent, that's all I can really say.
Really makes you think.
Good voice, good tunes. A little long. Just throw it on in the background while you're doing something else and it'll fly by.
great guitar album, jazzy melodies, jangly piano to die for. white's exploration of classic strong structures and genres is admirable and makes for a fun and adventurous listen.
