Good but not enough to convert me to a dedicated follower.
Good but not great. Surprised by how much instrumental music is on this album.
Good. Glad I listened to it. Does Sabbath not use power chords? Was surprised by that.
Sunshine of your love. Obviously the best track. The rest has surprising variety and is very bluesy and not pretty. Definitely an enjoyable listen.
It’s not so much that I disliked most of the album in a bland, idc kinda way, but maybe that this genre of music is just so dated and aged. I’m glad I listened but I won’t be back.
I liked this album. Very eclectic, noisy and somewhat discordant. Was surprised by the horns and lengthy instrumental jams. I can tell that Phish listened to Zappa. Overall enjoyable.
One of my top five favorite albums. The sampling, layering, and psychedelic production by the Dust Brothers made this a critic favorite when released in 1989 but never found radio success. I love The Beastie Boys!
Good album. No surprises. Jangly white boy bluesy soft rock. Sultans of Swing is only standout on album.
What a phenomenal album. Had never listened before. Sometimes he reminds me of the Beatles and other times it’s straight funky like Sly or EW&F. He’s so eclectic and I love it. I’m a new fan for sure.
Excellent. Love the first track but didn’t know who sang it. Rock ‘n soul is a perfect album title. He does early rock and roll, doo wop, and early soul with a masterful touch. Will listen again!
This album is eponymous for those of us who were in high school or college during the late 90’s/early aughts. I didn’t like it then, and I don’t like it now, but I recognize the importance of this album and band. I’m glad I revisited it but don’t need to listen ever again.
I’m meh about this album. Just not overly impressed. I’m sure they made waves when they were around but now this music is dated and boring.
I mean how can you go wrong with the classic, the inimitable SADE! This is baby making music for sure, and is great in the background. TBH though, all of her music sounds so similar. If you have heard one famous song, you will always recognize her music.
A great album. I knew the first song but didn’t know who sang it. Interesting use of classical piano and violin sounds with her banshee-like vocals.
Not bad. Glad I listened but I won’t be back. We are Family is the only memorable song.
Damn good album. Neil Young always sounds kinda the same to me. I prefer him with CSNY. This album is very country, lots of twang and some jangly.
One of my favorite albums of the early 2000’s. Cannot recommend highly enough!
Is this the soundtrack to the worst Renaissance Fair movie?
Fantastic! Amazing! Influential! Innovative! Creative! Masterful! This is something that I’ve listened to in the past but revisiting was impactful. I cannot say enough good things about this album.
Such a time capsule album. It’s not my style but she’s damn talented.
Superb. Excellent. Masterful. Memorable. One of the best hip hop albums of all time by one of the GOATs.
Not as good as Kind of Blue but how could it be? It’s also completely different. I do like it but not sure how often I will want to listen to it.
Phenomenal album. Especially when considering that Dave Grohl wrote, played, and produced the whole thing. It is at times post grunge, 90’s rock, and other times gives hints of the radio friendly songs to come from this band.
Very bluesy. Not as much southern rock as I expected. Also lots of blues jams. Can definitely tell it is a live album. Sounds like an old juke joint.
I mean this is classic. Many songs are very recognizable so I get the inclusion. Also, won’t be back. He was great for his time.
Obviously a classic album that is great for what it is. Total baby-making music here. Not for me but I recognize the talent.
Classic album. More bluesy than expected. Album starts loud and strong and settles down as it progresses. Definitely understand why so many boomers love the Stones.
Great live album. Needs big speakers to sound right. I feel like this performance was very punk and had never connected that before.
Excellent. Cannot say enough good things. Am now a huge fan.
Did not recall most of this album as I listened. A totally different experience from Dark Side. Definitely prefer Dark Side but this album is special and unique. I’m sure when it was released it was revolutionary.
It’s their only good work. This was the soundtrack to my life when it came out.
Excellent. I love bossa nova/ samba.
Not for me. Slow, boring, lame.
First song is amazing and covered in an authentic way.
One of the best albums of all time. If you don’t like this, you don’t know music.
Ok I don’t want to be a hater, but why was this included? It was a hit when it came out but I missed it and am not sorry. Strange choice.
It’s Bob Dylan, live, early in his career. How could you go wrong?
One of my favorite albums of all time.
It’s classic. Not my music taste but it can’t be denied.
A great album. Not sure why the debut isn’t the album in this list unless both are included.
Good album. Twangy and a bit jangly. I do somewhat recall this album coming out.
Classic. Totally middle school vibes. These guys are true American legends.
It’s a classic. Too much new wave and synths for me but i recognize the importance of this album.
It’s a classic. So many famous songs.
Really good. Hello is a classic.
Pretty good. Hits in England are very different from in the US.
Noisy. Industrial. Good stuff.
Incredible album. Love The Police anyway though. Does anyone else feel math rock vibes from some of the drumming? Even if not it’s noticeably badass.
I mean it’s Stevie. He’s one of the best musicians of our age.
Great album. My fave VU is with Nico, but Lou is pretty great on his own.
Not my taste but she’s talented. The opening instrumental part is a famous sample by MF DOOM
Not really my type of music but I still recognize the talent.
Excellent. Such a horrible singer lol.
One of my fave albums of all time.
Really good. Didn’t know he had so much variety in his music. Interesting how many bands and musicians played around with exotic or ornate instrumentation.
Superb but I like Mezzanine better.
A later album than what I used to listen to. Have seen them life in Belgium.
A great album! Love the funk!
This is the first time I’ve ever sat down and listened to an Alice Cooper album. I’m impressed!
Idk about this one. Not my style.
Excellent. Again not the album that I recall being super into.
Amazing. Groundbreaking sounds and styles.
Love it but again not the album I was expecting in the list.
A bunch of vaguely Irish sounding love songs.
Just not sure why this was included. It’s not bad but it’s not awesome either.
Good! Not Pet Sounds though. Surprisingly jangly and twangy.
Phenomenal album. The UK has a way of promoting these unique bands that end up on the radio or with a Mercury prize.
Meh. It’s a classic but boring
I didn’t listen to Hole in the 90’s because I don’t like Courtney Love. Boy did I miss out! This band is amazing!
It’s the Beatles! All of their albums are amazing. This is not my favorite though- it only has like 2 awesome songs.
It’s a good album. Not great though. Wondering what other Beck albums are included in the list.
It’s Common, the best conscious rapper. This is not my favorite album though so wondering what else is included in the list.
Not my favorite album of theirs but still really good. They have a distinct sound.
Good. Classic. Not very exciting.
Excellent. This is the sound of my early 90’s.
Not my favorite type of music but they are talented. Very 80’s vibe.
It’s good but not amazing.
My first HH album. I’m blown away. I’m jazzed to explore more of his catalog.
Good. Can tell John Cale is not in the band
I loved this album. I thought this group was more loud and raucous. Not at all! Some great instrumentals also!
So precious. It’s crazy how groundbreaking this album was and now it’s boring.
I think this album was probably heralded for its creative use of vocals - sampling, chopping, looping - but I found it pretty annoying.
Why are all his albums listed? They aren’t all that good tbh
One of the most important albums of the 90’s.
Never heard of them but actually liked the album a lot. Hard to define but very psychedelic.
So good! His voice is amazing and the music is so good!
Not my favorite type of music but it’s good!
Classic 90’s. The second album is better
It’s good. Better than 17 seconds
Classic 90’s. You can hear foreshadowing of The Gorillaz
Really good. Classic jams.
It’s ok. Early shoegaze but super spacey and ethereal.
It’s ok. Spacey and prog.
So good. Brings back memories of high school.
Pretty good! Very theatrical and long instrumental jams.
One of my favorite albums ever
Amazing. All of their albums are 5 stars
It’s Q Tip without tribe. Not bad, but sometimes overproduced
These songs are so familiar.
I love The Who. Except quadraphenia and it still has redeemable moments
Umm no. Just no. So much no.
It was ok. Not sure why it’s included.
Idk why all of Bowie’s albums are included. He’s great but jeez…
The man in black. Always the best.
They rock. Nothing notable though.
Surprised by some songs that sounded very 60’s hippie
Possibly the best unplugged album
It’s good but why was it included
So good. More bluesy than I expected
Super fun 90’s punk rock.
One of my favorite instrumental albums of all time
I don’t think this one got 5 mics but it’s 90’s hip hop at its best. Sample heavy, stupid skits, lots of guests. RIP Trugoy.
Another “not my favorite by this artist” that’s still really good
Really enjoyed this one. I wonder if Lauren Hill hadn’t been so popular that this lady would have been more well known.
Sugary pop. Only one memorable song.
Hmmm confused about the inclusion of this one. It’s not bad but not good either.
