I wnjoyed this album. The music was perfect for journal writing. It had a familiar sound. This is my first review, so I don't quite have my vocabulary down to describe it. Let's just say i would re-play this album and yhe listen to more.

I like Stevie Wonder. This is a great album with a real exploration of rhythms and lyrics.
8/10/25 Listened while cooking. Would be good for a.m. walk. Not great for journal writing.
There is nothing better than listening to the '80s - and enjoying it more the second time around. So great to hear a talented group of women inject energy into the culture .
I am not an audiophile. I listen to music as,a backdrop to my day, to impact my feelings, the chan g e my feelings. I prefer the Kings of Leon album Only by the Night.
I understand why this album was reviewed by others as ahead of its time. It really is a musical crossroad or traffic circle bringing in grudge, hard rock amd indie.
I saw the movie at least twice when it came out. I saw them at Candkestick Park. Yes, I love their sound. It was a bridge from the sound of the 50's to something new.
Listen this Iggy Pop album helped me see his connection to his peers, Jim Morrison and Mick Jagger. I also heard the hint of the future of Bowie's work.
I loved how Frank Sinatra helped Antonio Carlos Jobim gain a larger following in the U.S. Frank's voice amazes me - depth, range, feeling. Anonio's guitar playing added a layer. I think Sarah Vaughn's renditions of several of these songs is also a good listen. I enjoyed the video of Frank and Antonio as younger and then older men together - especially when Frank lights up a cigarette and smokes on stage while singing.
Spunku and Your Lucky Day in Hell were my two favorite songs. There were a lot of surprises in lyrics and tempo.
I followed Chic back in the day. I was surprised by the range in the album.
Aretha's voice is a wonder to hear. Such a presence as music shifts in the 60's. We embraced her, the Beatles, and Jimi Hendrix. Her lyrics spoke to women - and lessened men.
A fusion of African beats, east Indian melodies, and funk. Will listen to again to pay more attention to the lyrics. The track XR2 is a precursor to Beyonce's marching band track.
Lyrics driven.
