Dig Me Out by Sleater-Kinney

Solid album. Was only familiar with the title track. Can't believe I'd never listened to the whole album before. Corrin Tucker's voice never really did that much for me. Pacing and overall tone is great.

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5

Good listen. Nice flow throughout the album and it really seems like a bridge between the old school and new.

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles

Light years ahead of their previous stuff. Martin's production is magnificent. Near perfect album that set the stage for the next decade or so.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley

Deserves a lot of credit for brining rock and roll to the masses, but at the end of the day it is a album of covers. Ignoring the racial undertones, most of the versions are not as good as the originals, with the exception of "Blue-Sued Shoes."

Parallel Lines by Blondie

Fun listen. Heart of Glass is by far my favorite. Still has that disco feel to it. Not sure why it gets tagged as "punk" by some. It's more early new wave if anything.

Mermaid Avenue by Billy Bragg

I know many people who are big Wilco fans, but I've never been a big fan of Country-Alternative Rock, so they never really did anything for me. Can't say I had ever listened to Billy Bragg before. This album didn't win me over for either of them. It's pretty boring and monotonous, if I'm being honest.

Vulnicura by Björk

Bjork has never been my thing. I'm sure this album is great if your from Iceland or really into Bjork, but for me it was decent background music at best.

Hotel California by Eagles

Side A is close to being a masterpiece. Side B is a little "meh."

Music From Big Pink by The Band

Classic album from one of the great bands of all time. "The Weight" is an absolute all-timer. "Chest Fever" is one of my favorites (though I prefer it on their live albums). "I Shall Be Released" is an excellent closer. I will say that there are quite a few filler tracks, which keep it from 5-star status, for me.

Swordfishtrombones by Tom Waits

Never understood people's fascination with Tom Waits. I'd heard some songs here and there ("I Don't Wanna Grow Up" is my favorite and "Downtown Train" is good as well), but his gravelly voice and super-weird lyrics were off-putting. This album had a chance to change my mind, with flashes of melodies among the weird, bluesy stuff, but ultimately didn't win me over.

Wasn't ever a fan of The Flaming Lips outside of "She Don't Use Jelly" but something about this album gets me every time. A masterpiece from start to finish. "Do You Realize?" is one of those songs that just hits me in the gut everytime I hear it.
