For Your Pleasure by Roxy Music
Oct 14 2025

#1 on the random list. Great starting point. Didn't know a lot about this album prior.

The Cars by The Cars
Oct 15 2025

#2 in the list, great album with some bangers!

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Oct 16 2025

#3 on my random list, Absolute classic. One of the the first albums I remember listening to as a kid. The opening 3 tracks: So Far Away, Money for Nothing & Walk of Life are a great opening, then gets a bit slower and deeper. Ultimately ending with Brothers in Arms. Classic rock album.

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
Oct 17 2025

Certainly what i'd normally listen to, but something I just put on in the background and enjoyed.

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Oct 27 2025

Soulful, wonderful to listen to. Such a shame she went too soon.

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Oct 28 2025

Opening track an obvious highlight, enjoyed this album.

Parallel Lines by Blondie
Feb 17 2026

When this came up in the list I thought, oh this will be a good one. Lots of the absolute classic Blondie tracks that I grew up with. Heart of Glass is an all time favourite. One Way or Another and Hanging on the telephone compliment this further. Was torn between a high 3 or a low 4. Heart of Glass gets it the 4 stars.

Feb 18 2026

Not my favourite fatboy slim album (that's You've come a long way baby), but some good tracks here, (Going out of my head and Everybody needs a 303). Is it repetitive, yes, but it it bad? No. Solid 3 star album for me.

Tommy by The Who
Feb 24 2026

This came up in the offering today, at first I was keen because everyone knows pinball wizard right? Sadly for me anyway that was the only hilight, I'm not a huge fan of rock operas and this one was both long and largely boring, so long that I didn't even finish the album. If it wasn't for Pinball Wizard I'd probably have given it as single star, but because of pinball wizard (and the fact that I quite like pinball) i'll give it 2 stars.

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Feb 26 2026
Penthouse And Pavement by Heaven 17
Feb 27 2026

I lasted one track. This was not my groove thing at all. No idea how this made the list, still it is educating me on stuff I don't like.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Mar 03 2026
White Ladder by David Gray
Mar 04 2026

Felt like I've listened to this album before, but I haven't. It's pleasant enough but very generic. Babylon is the standout here though have heard it hundreds of time but never took any notice of the artist or album.

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Mar 10 2026
Amnesiac by Radiohead
Mar 12 2026

Certainly not my favourite Radiohead album, but it's good, not 5 star good, probably not even 4 star good, but it's better than a 3 star album. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would. Thom Yorke has an amazing voice, so that rounds it up to a 4.

1977 by Ash
Mar 13 2026
Illmatic by Nas
Mar 16 2026

Rap isn't my thing. Gave it a listen and it's ok, not sure if it's just my general dislike for rap but this didn't do anything for me.

Dust by Screaming Trees
Mar 19 2026
This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Apr 08 2026

Way too many Elvis Costello albums in this list. It's not terrible it's just the same old stuff.

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Apr 15 2026
Funeral by Arcade Fire
Apr 27 2026
En-Tact by The Shamen
May 06 2026
Berlin by Lou Reed
May 07 2026
Music by Madonna
May 08 2026

I don't feel like this was an album I absolutely had to listen to, but I have and we now move on.

May 11 2026

After listening to this, particularly "blame game" I know know why Lewis Hamilton is going out with Kim K. Rap's not my thing, probably never will be, but this was OK.

Ten by Pearl Jam
May 12 2026

It's one of my favourite albums of the grunge era, it's unrefined, yet refined at the same time. The trackseven flow, alive, black and jeremey are punchy, raw and explosive. While the back half of the album (Oceans, Garden and Deep) become more mellow and almost melt away. Porch is the notable exception here as it really is a jolt after Oceans. Maybe it belongs in the first half, but maybe not? Later Pearl Jam albums (vitalogy on) became more refined but Ten really captures the sentiment of the era.

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
May 13 2026

Heads will roll is an excellent track. That song alone gives this 4 stars in my books.

May 19 2026

Rap's generally not my thing, but this does have some absolute classics (Stan particularly).

Dummy by Portishead
May 20 2026

Sublime

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Jun 01 2026

This album is nothing but a guilty pleasure. Rock Opera isn't meant to be serious, this isn't, it's loud, brash and lets be honest. Some of the lyrics and themes haven't aged well. But to pull this out every now and then, pop it on and crank the volume to 11 is still good fun.

Opus Dei by Laibach
Jun 11 2026

This was a wild ride

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Jun 16 2026

Amazing samples, yes it may be a bit shouty but that's what the beastie boys are. Great fun album to listen to.

Eagles by Eagles
Jun 25 2026
OK Computer by Radiohead
Jul 03 2026

I absolutely remember when this album came out, changed what I thought about what was rock, what was grunge and made it become almost art. Super complex album with lots of layered sounds, can come across as depressing but that was a lot of the late 90's, paranoia was prevalent as we transitioned into the digital age, the internet was starting to boom so you could feel more connected and yet alone at the same time. Certainly a product of its time, has aged beautifully. Still gets a regular listen. Ive said before that an album was one of the easiest 5 star albums but this one probably is the easiest (so far!)

Pornography by The Cure
Jul 08 2026

Always found the cute rather depressing. This didn't change my opinion.

Melody A.M. by Röyksopp
Jul 09 2026

Had no expectations with this, pleasantly surprised. Great background music to put on.

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
Jul 17 2026

Wasn't my thing

Horses by Patti Smith

Chris by Christine and the Queens
