Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet

Take Five was one of the songs that got me into Jazz in the first place; the entire album is full of gems.

Another one of those classic hip-hop albums. "Around the Way Girl" and the titular "Mama Said Knock You Out" tracks are well-known hits. Every song just felt good to listen to.

Legitimately have never listened to a full Steely Dan album until now. Now I want to know what else I've been missing out on.

Gotta be one of the most recognizable acid pop albums out there, and it's for a good reason. Makes me feel all fuzzy inside.

Jan 02 2026

Take Five was one of the songs that got me into Jazz in the first place; the entire album is full of gems.

Imagine by John Lennon
Jan 06 2026

It gives off the specific kind of anti-war messaging that throws out all geopolitical factors in favor of "what if nobody actually believed in anything". An excruciatingly boring album, worsened by the 6-minute droning in the song "I Don't Wanna Be a Soldier, Mama".

One of my favorites; King Kunta was my intro to Kendrick.

Feb 02 2026

One of my favorite punk rock albums of the 2000s, and there are a handful of them.

Feb 10 2026

Listened to this for the first time back in college, and the quality has held up after all these years. Protect Ya Neck and C.R.E.A.M. are still my favorites in this album.

Horses by Patti Smith
Mar 03 2026

It's not what I was expecting when I saw that the album was punk rock, but it matches, and it's a wonderful listen. Loved the piano, loved the spoken word. Thank you to all horses

Aja by Steely Dan
Mar 09 2026

A solid Steely Dan album. Jazz fusion is not everyone's cup of tea, but it's mine. Will definitely be coming back to this one.

Illmatic by Nas
Apr 07 2026

One of the most iconic old-school hip-hop albums. "N.Y. State of Mind", "Life's a Bitch", and "The World Is Yours" run concurrently in the album and are the more popular tracks (the first one being my favorite), but every song is smooth, lyrically and instrumentally. An essential for boom bap enthusiasts.

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Apr 14 2026

The third Marvin Gaye album I've received from this site, and it's one of his best.

Low by David Bowie
Apr 15 2026

From the upbeat, swinging rhythm of Sound and Vision, to the dark, otherworldly ambience of Subterraneans, the tone shift in this album is absolutely stunning while the tracks stay fresh. Another David Bowie banger.

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Apr 17 2026
The Bends by Radiohead
Apr 27 2026

A strong album with nice vocals and a smooth flow between songs. Definitely one of their more mainstream works; the title track and High and Dry are my favorites. It's not the best album I've heard from them, but it's certainly one I'll keep coming back to.

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
May 05 2026

A wonderful fusion of jazz and hip hop; A Tribe Called Quest delivers on every front. Definitely a repeat album for me.

Another one of those classic hip-hop albums. "Around the Way Girl" and the titular "Mama Said Knock You Out" tracks are well-known hits. Every song just felt good to listen to.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jun 08 2026
Rio by Duran Duran
Jun 10 2026

A quintessential 80s synth pop album. Rio and Hungry Like The Wolf are definitely the top hit classics, but every song on this album is a banger.

This is one of my favorite albums from when I was in high school/college, and the quality is still good after all these years. Multiple bangers: Paranoid Android, Karma Police, and No Surprises.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Jul 21 2026
Synchronicity by The Police
Aug 06 2026

This is The Police's final album, and arguably one of their best. Every Breath You Take is the obvious hit here, but songs like King of Pain and O My God are very solid. Essential new wave.
