Tommy!

I respect it but did not enjoy it even a little bit.

Better than expected. Very charismatic and catchy.

The singles are decent. Mostly filler. Later albums are much better.

Great album. Distinctly remember repeatedly listening to the cassette back in the early 90s and watching the Jeremy video on repeat at 9 years old, even though my mom denies that happening. I’d give it a 4.5 if I could so I’m rounding up.

My kind of jazz. Sounds like my life most days.

I used to frequent pool halls in my early 20s and the only stuff I liked even a little bit was Meat Loaf or The Doors. I’d stack my money on the long songs from both and one time this guy got in my face because he was upset his Disturbed and Papa Roach songs were taking too long to play.

Definitely better than I thought but good grief, needs an editor for sure. Should be 35 minutes max. Some good songs but a ton of filler.

This makes me feel incredibly old. When I was a kid I’d have called it dad rock. Now that I’m a dad I guess I’ll call it grandpa rock. Some good solos but way too long and boring.

It’s a 2, but a stronger 2 than Dire Straits. Sounds like If Murder by Death wasn’t very good.

Not bad. Would be better as an EP because it gets old about halfway through.

Afrobeat is a new genre to me and I really enjoyed this one, especially the drum solo.

I liked this. I did myself a disservice by looking up the genre before listening. Seeing it listed as ‘desert blues’ set up wild expectations that it was not able to meet. Maybe a future album will include Brant Bjork and John Garcia.

Why in the world did I need to hear this. This was bad.

Had never heard a full album before, just the hits. Better than expected, though I much prefer The Doors if we’re talking rock of this era.

I liked the songs that were mostly instrumental. And then Spotify auto played into Ill Communication, which was even cooler.

For a band with ‘war’ and ‘drugs’ in their name, this was some of the most vanilla shit I’ve ever heard.

I always saw Jeff Beck albums when looking for Jason Becker as a kid but never listened to him. Wish I would have, quite enjoyed this one.

This is the first album I thought about skipping. I had a terrible time. Why doesn’t she stop singing and gurgling?

Good, but a couple steps down from their others. I would normally give it a 3 but it gets a 4 since it came the day after that Mariah Carey bullshit.

This was incredible. The minimal music and the way his delivery plays with it is excellent. And the lyrics are very thought provoking.

One of my favorite albums of all time. Cantrell and Staley were unbeatable. Such a heavy album for the mainstream attention it got.

I’d only heard Carrie and Lowell and some other tracks before, but nothing from this one. This was great. John Wayne Gacy Jr is one of the most unsettling songs I’ve heard.
