Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Dec 18 2025

Well this just shot up to the top of my rotation. Incredibly creative sampling, flows perfectly from beginning to end, and just so much fun. Favorite tracks are hard to pick based off first listen when it's such a cohesive whole, but Frontier Psychriatist stood out.

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Dec 19 2025

8/10

Nick Of Time by Bonnie Raitt
Jan 09 2026

I like Bonnie's voice but these songs are pretty bland. Favorite song: Nick of Time

Bluesbreakers by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
Jan 11 2026

Was nice enough background For driving.

Dust by Screaming Trees
Jan 12 2026

good god

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Jan 13 2026

Really wonderful. I was only familiar with Son of a Preacher Man before but the whole album is full of beautiful tracks like it. Other favorites are Just A Little Lovin', Breakfast in Bed, The Windmills of Your Mind.

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Jan 15 2026

The acoustic-heavy back half drags this down just a bit but man that first half rocks. Every song from Immigrant Song to Out of The Tiles is killer.

Queen II by Queen
Jan 17 2026

This is perfectly fine. Queen has been one of those "like and respect but don't love" bands for me, this album didn't change that.

Highly Evolved by The Vines
Jan 18 2026

Crisp production and decent performances but these songs are very forgettable. Favorite track was Get Free I guess?

B-52's by The B-52's
Jan 23 2026

4/10

Brothers by The Black Keys
Jan 24 2026

6/10 Had my head nodding throughout. Some catchy grooves and I enjoy the prominent bass in the mix, but nothing wowed me here. Just a solid rock record. Favs: Tighten Up, The Only One

Something/Anything? by Todd Rundgren
Jan 25 2026

4/10 You really feel every one of those 90 minutes.

Sea Change by Beck
Jan 27 2026

7/10 Good songwriting, and Beck is very good at creating an intimate and warm sound on his music.

Nixon by Lambchop
Jan 28 2026

2/10 Nothing really works here. A sleepy, uninspired bunch of songs with a weird kind of Bowie imitation on top with the vocals.

Da Capo by Love
Jan 30 2026

4/10 It was silly and fun for the first few songs, but really fell off with that last track.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Jan 31 2026

6/10 It's Elvis. What's there to say.

S&M by Metallica
Feb 01 2026

It's a bit of a mess. The old thrashier songs needed serious reworking to fit the orchestra, but there's glimpses of a cool thing in the post-Black Album material. I had fun watching the DVD, but don't think I'll be returning to this. 5/10

Dig Your Own Hole by The Chemical Brothers
Feb 02 2026

It's a little dated, and repetitive even for the genre. But it's still a vibe. 6/10

The Nightfly by Donald Fagen
Feb 04 2026

It feels like Steely Dan-lite, but I like Steely Dan so it's still smooth listening. Just nothing that really stuck with me. I'll put on Aja instead.

Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Feb 05 2026

This was a rollercoaster. My feelings ranged from weirded out and delighted to bored almost from song to song.

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
Feb 09 2026

A nice, cozy blanket of a recording.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Feb 14 2026
Rapture by Anita Baker
Feb 20 2026
Tommy by The Who
Feb 22 2026
Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Mar 03 2026

Rock musicals still very much not my thing but this one's not bad.

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Mar 08 2026

I'm slowly going through their catalog and starting to realize that I might really like The Beatles. This one's not my favorite but there's good stuff here.

Life's Too Good by The Sugarcubes
Mar 12 2026

It's fun. Björk's style of singing doesn't always work for me but she's on fire here.

Roots by Sepultura
Mar 13 2026
Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Mar 15 2026

School is a strong start that the album doesn't live up to.

Transformer by Lou Reed
Mar 20 2026

Perfect Day is a great song.

Melody A.M. by Röyksopp
Mar 25 2026

It's an album that just makes my day better when I hear it. One of my favorites.

Roxy Music by Roxy Music
Mar 26 2026

That was a weird mess. Not entirely without its charms though.

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Mar 28 2026

Beautiful album. Melancholic and sad but not overly so, soulful singing and playing. Loved it.

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Mar 31 2026

Vibrant and fun, sounds great. Every track didn't hit on first listen but there were a few high points, like Hypocritical Kiss and Weep Themselves To Sleep.

Life Thru A Lens by Robbie Williams
Apr 01 2026

Let Me Entertain You is a 3, Angels is whatever, rest is horrible.

Oedipus Schmoedipus by Barry Adamson
Apr 03 2026

This was okay. I like the concept better than the execution.

Dummy by Portishead
Apr 04 2026
Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Apr 07 2026

Smashing Pumpkins is 2/2 so far with 5-star albums. Just fantastic rock albums.

Strange Cargo III by William Orbit
Apr 10 2026

Nothing terribly unique going on here compositionally but I enjoyed the moods and sounds. Felt long at 1hr.

xx by The xx
Apr 13 2026

The dual vocals don't match well. The guitars are repetitive. l'm all for minimalist pop that's not crazy overproduced but this is dull.

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Apr 17 2026

This 2001 reissue is a weird collection but these are still mostly great songs.

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Apr 18 2026

It does the damn thing.

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Apr 21 2026

Janis elevates the material here. The covers were the highlights.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Apr 23 2026

It's no Dire Straits (1978). Money for Nothing and Brothers in Arms still bangers though.

Mott by Mott The Hoople
Apr 24 2026
Heroes by David Bowie
Apr 26 2026

I found the first half almost impenetrable on first listen, with the exception of "Heroes" which is great. The ambient second half was cool and spooky.

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
Apr 28 2026

Huge childhood album for me. Might be Maiden's most consistently good album, only one weaker track in the bunch (22 Acacia Avenue), but doesn't reach their best heights. Clive Burr on fire here.

More Specials by The Specials
Apr 29 2026

Fun album. I like the song where he just lists James Bond movies.

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
May 03 2026

Lots of different influences going on which could be messy but they keep it together. Very catchy and lively.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
May 08 2026

It's just kinda annoying.

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
May 09 2026

Good ass blues.

Suede by Suede
May 10 2026

Started off really disliking the first few songs but it won me over by the end.
