1001 Albums Summary

Sledgehammer is a great song Big Time is awesome Not convinced on Don't Give Up. Yeah it's a pretty good album, not entirely my cup of tea.

A really nice Jazz album. Would be nice background music for studying!

To be honest it wasn't very notable None of the songs on it were that appealing to me, but I didn't hate it. I would be happy to listen to it again but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it though

Amazing album

Surprising to see a live album on here. I don't usually listen to Thin Lizzy but there were a few good songs on here I'd listen to the studio recording of

Not a huge fan of this one tbh Couple of alright songs, but not compelling enough for me to add them to my library

I can definitely see why people like Beyonce, but just not for me. She's talented, but it's a shame that all of the songs on this album were shit. Difficult listen.

I'm 2 songs in and really liking this so far. Overall I really liked this album. Really cool funk sound, but also kind of jazzy at times. Definitely a highlight so far.

An excellent album. The mix of genres including but not limited to funk and jazz with a Latin influence done so well. I had never heard of this artist before and I'm really impressed. I love the mix of some good social commentary and music. Favourite song: (Who Discovered) America? HM: Street Signs 4 Feb 2026

Yeah not a fan tbh

My left ear enjoyed that one part of Perpetual Change Other than that kind of a mellow album. I wanted to enjoy it

I have not heard this album before. Talented guitar solos and stuff but I feel like the album kind of lacks something, though I'm not sure what it is. I have never really been an Iron Maiden person, or a heavy metal person though.

I have not heard of this album before, but I have heard of some of the songs on this album. The album sounds very raw and emotional, with a lot of thought put into it. Unfortunately it is just not my cup of tea.

Some of the songs are alright but I am not a fan of Neil Young's voice...

I don't like rap, but this was somewhat tolerable. Still didn't like it but I didn't actively hate listening to it. I don't want to sound like a pearl clutching prude but I didn't like the sexual lyrics, especially some of the skits.. Back Like That was an alright song

Certainly interesting. Never heard of the artist before. This kind of gothic rock doesn't really appeal to me.

To preface this, I don't like U2, so I'm coming in a bit biased. I haven't heard this album before though. Christ that was fucking boring. Unsurprisingly, that was a another hard listen from U2.

I liked Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters prior to listening to the album fully. It's not typically a genre I listen to, but it was a pretty enjoyable listen to be honest.

Such an incredible album, can't believe I hadn't listened to the whole thing earlier.

Relatively speaking it's not as bad as some of the other albums I have listened to. But more than once I found myself thinking "when is this shit going to end", which I have decided is the criteria for an album getting 1 star. Generally I'm not a huge fan of alt rock. The vocals were.... unique. I questioned whether the lead singer had taken any singing lessons at some points when I felt myself grimacing during the Spiderbite Song. So uhh yeah hard listen.

Meh, sounds like generic indie rock to me

ChatGPT, generate me a subpar 1980s rock album that doesn't have an identity.

Damn that was a great album

When I got to the end of this album, I was surprised to realise it was released in 1977. It really has that 90s maybe early 2000s grunge sound to it. I've never heard of the band before but it's definitely punk/grunge, wouldn't be surprised if they inspired a lot of that genre later in the 90s. Anyway, not really into grunge but it was an alright listen.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/RIIsLj6l9jQ Back in my day we used to do 1800 miles in a night listening to this. Thank you America (and of course Alabama) for this hick redneck music. Did this album really have to be an hour and a half? In all seriousness though, the actual message of the album is quite interesting. It's very political, and speaks to life in Alabama trying to fight stereotypes that every Alabaman is an ignorant raging racist. I guess that's probably why it's on this list. It was a hard listen, and far too long with

I quite liked this. It reminded me a little bit of Daft Punk in terms of the music but the lyrics and vocals are great.

Was pretty good

Kanye West is a reprehensible individual. Not my type of music either.

Eminem is very gen x core. I can see how this started his career

Enjoyed that more than I thought I would to be honest. Now I must consume a bottle of red wine every day

Interesting stuff, I think I'll have to give that another listen some time

I quite enjoyed listening to this. I'm not usually a fan of indie music but this was different. I think it was the mix of different instruments

Uh

Great album, but not the Beatles best work when compared to their other albums

Why is this album on this list? Sorry Madonna

There are so many great songs on this album that get overlooked because of the other really great songs

The last song was alright, though the album kind of got boring after the first few songs when the novelty wore off

I see why Karen's in the 90s thought this was summoning satan or something

I didn't realise how many other good songs were on this album other than the classics

I don't usually like rap/hip hop but this was actually okay

Hello, I am 2% Irish

Boring

he's really horny

The second half is great

Meh album, apparently terrible person. Last song is awful. It's tantamount to torture.

THEY TRIED TO MAKE ME GO TO REHAB

Oh god more late 90s nu metal. Lyrics are so fucking cringe. Actively difficult listen

Boring

Another Stevie Wonder masterpiece

Yikes

Quite forgettable

Have this on CD, it's such a great album and one of the first albums that introduced me to Supertramp. I get nostalgia from 'School', 'Bloody Well Right', and 'Dreamer' from hearing these as a kid

Idk it's Jazz

Fuck that was boring

This was much better than I expected. Quite a few tracks here that will go on my main playlist. I was told this album was basically "depressed guy with guitar" (hello I know you're reading this) but I thought it was a but more than that. I was kind of expecting the only instrument to be guitar but I liked the wider mix which helped me enjoy this album. I was tossing up giving this a 4 or a 5 while listening, but on reflection I think it deserves a 5.

Probably an album I will come back to, I quite enjoyed the tracks 'That's Really Super, Supergirl' and 'Dear God'. It's got that 80s sound that I enjoy. Will have to listen to some more XTC

This must have been really deep for teenagers in 2000 after waiting 24 hours for this album to download with some viruses from Limewire on the family computer

Jimi Hendrix is incredibly talented, All Along The Watchtower is the star of this album

The lyrics for H20 haven't aged a day

I find Simon and Garfunkle to be fairly boring but I won't complain about having to listen to them

Jesus of Suburbia starts off decently but it's far too long imo

Such a great and classic album, great to have an album pop up on this list that I have on CD

Blister In The Sun used to irritate me when it played on the radio as a kid. It still does. Now I know the rest of the album is somehow worse. Could not finish

Banger album, I have on CD

Damn this was a fucking banger

Took an entire star away for that horrible cover of Comfortably Numb.

FUNK THAT WAS GOOD MY HEADPHONES ALMOST FUNKSPLODED

Honestly this surprised me

RIP Dolly

I'll be back

I wanted to like it more

Hate to give Pink Floyd such a low score, but I'm just not a fan of much of their 60s music

I thought they had some dude signing who sounded like Rod Stewart then I found out he actually is Rod Stewart

pretty boring tbh

Not a huge Johnny Cash fan but the atmosphere was pretty unique being at a prison
