Pretty jazzy jazz!

Easy to listen to, I'd call this album pure fluff, like eating marshmallow fluff with the Michelin man on a white cloud, nothing to think about or get deep into. I don't find anything philosophical about "Jump" or "Hot for Teacher", but take it for what it is, easy listening rock music.

Not my favorite from Beck, was a bit too slow and low-key, I need at least a couple of upbeat songs to keep me in it!

Well that was AC/DC, they have a sound and they stuck to it for all 10 songs, good job guys

Not the best French electro pop album I’ve ever heard but pretty close, plus major nostalgia points for me having heard this album many times as a youth.

Good album, not great would rate a 3 but with hallelujah on the album as one of the greatest songs ever recorded it couldn’t be less than a 4

Classic album where every song is a great listen

I wanted this album to be better, especially with the collaborators, but for the talent on the tracks it was underwhelming. Nothing stood out vocally and the instrumentals were lacking for my tastes.

I'm a fan of the early hip hop, I thought it was a good album, not great. The best song was Milky Cereal, always fun to rediscover a nice track.

I love to discover new artists and this is one that I liked and was totally new for me.

Not for me, didn't like any of the songs. I listened through to the end just to make sure, and I can confirm it's not my cup of tea.

Loved it, the night of the Thumpasorus Peoples had some weird instrument that threw this off from a 5, but it was a great fun album and could be listened to over and over again. Take out that last song and I could have it on repeat for 6 hours.

When I see an album and think hmmm... heavy metal, I'm not gonna like this, well this is the album I'm talking about. It's got all the screaming that I don't enjoy with the heavy instrumentals that I also don't enjoy. This album made me think that a spider living in my ear laying eggs isn't the worst thing that could happen to the inside of my ears

It's easy to listen to this album, it doesn't fit neatly into a genre or decade. Smooth vocals and instrumentals that just melt into the background. I don't think I've intentionally listened to a Sade song before, but it also feels like I've heard every song on the album a hundred times and am not tired of it.

Just another rock album, I knew the hits already, and when I listen through an entire album I expect to be surprised by a hidden gem that I haven't heard before or just forgot about. This album doesn't have anything like that, just more or the same generic rock sound. Solid album, but not great, and definitely not exceptional.

This album has a definite decade feel to it, I generally like soul (or soul-adjacent) music, so this one hit just right. I liked it but thought it was a little too 50's generic to get a 5, I'd have preferred a 3.5, but we are stuck with the ratings we have, not the ones we want. Today I'm feeling generous and rounding up.

Not a fan of Christmas music, but I'll tolerate it for a very small window and when I listened to this album the timing was all off. No thanks

Fun album that I assume was popular music for the era it comes from, several songs that I've heard before but never known the artist.

The album started with a couple of songs that I didn't like but was ready to lean into the good elements and hoped that it would improve as the album went on. However, that was not to pass, instead, it devolved into incoherent screaming by the end, I did not like this album.

I'm usually a fan of the genre, and it's nice to listen to something other than bad rock music, but sadly this just didn't do it for me. The version I listened to had way too many interruptions and while the volume of tracks was impressive, I would have liked a pared-down album with just the jazziest jazz. As far as Dukes go, this is more like Marmaduke, you listen to it because it exists, and not because you really, really want to. I was hoping more for the 1992 Duke Men's Basketball team, really good but also exciting and has you on the edge of your seat not knowing when the music will finally stop.

The music is good, I didn't care for the Paul McCartney Duet, bad and a little creepy, but the rest is solid. Too bad it's Michael Jackson and he will never earn anything other than a 0 for being a bad person. The album will be a 1 because I can't go any lower.

I liked this album, but for the mystique surrounding all things Hendrix I was expecting to love it. Especially with Jimi as a local legend and fellow GHS alumni, I assumed it was going to be the greatest album of all time and it was merely good.

I've been listening to this album for a while, first on a cassette tape in the car, then on CD in the car, then on an iPod in the car, and now steaming in the car, and it never disappoints. Excellent throughout.

Just one those middling albums, nothing wrong with it but nothing awesome either, it’s telling when the artist changes on Spotify and I don’t notice for at least 3 songs that it wasn’t going to stick out as great or terrible.

I really liked how this started and that it is something unique and haunting and definitely weird, but it was too much of the same on repeat. I needed something different peppered in to give it a great review, as it is I liked it well enough but left me wanting more.

I really liked one song on here and the rest were not anything spectacular, I listened through once, but that was enough for my lifetime.

I thought supertramp was going to be a one trick pony band, a super awesome 80s synth pony with laser eyes riding a rainbow, but one trick. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety I found and enjoyed it throughout.

Love you Rod, this wasn't the best of your albums and could have used some more rodalicous tracks, but overall a great effort.

Didn't know anything about them before listening, so they didn't disappoint, but also didn't blow me away, really middle of the road for me.

A new listen for me, I thought I had heard lots of songs from her before but I didn’t recognize any of them on this album. Usually a big name artist has some new fun tracks to enjoy, but it didn’t grab me the way I was expecting.

I thought this was going to be some old Jazz album; it was short but sweet.

This is a brilliantly done album. All of the Beatles' albums are pretty spot on. They are truly one of the best bands of all time.

Albums like this are why I enjoy this site, a great listen that was funky and different and enjoyable from beginning to end. Add to that the mystery of not knowing anything about the artist when I started the album, I want all my albums to be just as fun as this one.

I love hip hop, but never felt the vibe with Cypress Hill, might be good for someone, but not for me.

I listened to this album as background and thought it was pretty good, but a second time through without all the distractions and I wasn't as impressed. Would recommend halfheartedly.

Classic Rock in the most classical sense. They just kept laying on the jam like it was tea time with Queen Victoria, and my ears were crumpets.

This was a bit of a different sound than I expected from Ray Charles. Good, but nothing great, and I like the later albums better.

I've listened to Jack White before and not understood why he's so highly regarded as an artist, but this album made me think, hmm, I kinda get it.

I rarely listen to 90s rock music and about halfway through this album I thought, "Hmm, I need a break from 90's music, this has been going on for far to long..."

Loved it, a bit odd for this list, but the album sounds great and the lyrics were awesome.

This started strong and then was just more of the same, had me voting a solid 3 until a 7 minute meandering duet with dru hill that dropped this down another point to a stinky duece

This was a throwback album for me that brought me back to the early days of hip hop which sounds like poetry instead of over synthesized tracks and indecipherable lyrics. A couple of the tracks were not for me but overall reminded me of a better era in music....

I recognized a few of these tracks, I thought it was pretty good, but nothing surprising or new.

If this album was just music I would rate it higher. The odd interludes really date it as an early hip-hop album, but it doesn't age well.

This album was amazing until the last track, 16 minute drum solos are not my thing… but the rest of it definitely was. There’s a lot a great beats and a passion from the singer, everything until the last track was fire, then it was a dumpster fire.

Some bands have a sound, and that’s why you listen to them, well executed album and a unique fun sound, sure made me think… what happened to these guys, probably playing the casino circuit…

I couldn't get into this album. I started listening to it three different times but never got more than a few songs in before my brain found better activities. Then, when I started the album again, I didn't remember any of the tracks that I had listened to in the previous 48 hrs. Not bad, but oh so forgettable.

I had two main thoughts listening to this album; the first one was, "Oh, this is the band that sings that song that I know, but I don't know why I know that song." The second thought was, "This is Irish Punk music. I hate one genre and like the other, but I really like them combined." Above Average

I really liked these songs; the live setting was high energy and made it exciting, and the whole thing was 22 minutes. Minus one for Jerry Lee Lewis being a creep.

I have heard most of these songs before, but didn't realize all these good tracks came from one album. IN 1977! Ahead of his time and great album.

Good, not excellent, but so close to excellent. I heard some gritty 70's funk in the album mixed with the regular Stevie Wonder pop vibes. I would have liked it better to lean into one or the other; it left me a little wanting by the end.

Not what I expected from an artist I’d never heard before and was judging solely on the album cover. I was expecting either something exciting and jazzy, or maybe weird and eclectic, I felt like I got banality.

21 minutes and 4 tracks and I already knew I was going to like one of the songs, plus one for succinctness and doing it live.

I was expecting better, I realize this is the very early stuff, and was probably groundbreaking at the time, but it really underwhelmed.

I'm not sure why this album was made; it's got a monsters and aliens theme with a punk rock sound. Nothing about any of those things appeals to me. On the plus side, the songs were all short; on the downside, there were a lot of them.

This is my favorite album so far, from the first track, where I Gotta Get Up, to the Without You banger and then another one in Spanish! This was a pleasure throughout the album, and it's even got that coconut song. I put this album into my regular listening rotation, and I had no idea who Harry Nilsson was before starting this album. This album experience reminded me of watching a movie, hearing a song I like, and then discovering they were all by Harry Nilsson. I rate this 6.5 coconuts out of 5, but 5 stars will have to suffice.

While I didn't like this music, I thought it was going to be a lot worse. There are a lot of garbage metaphors that need not be written, just knowing they exist is enough for me.

Generally good album, sounds a lot like British pop from the late 60s.

The positives on this album are that it's like nothing else I've heard before, his voice is clear and on key, and the instrumentals are solid. The negatives are how bad the lyrics are and the songs are out of place in any genre, which would usually be a positive for me, but not this time. Wouldn't listen again.

One of my favorite albums of all time, great songs and genre bending in a way that brings a lot of cool sounds to the masses, masquerading as a popular Hip Hop Album. Even the interludes are top-notch compared to others released around this time. More albums like this, less crappy boring British pop rock and punk. Would give more than 5 stars if possible.

Chalk up another punkish rock album getting a low review. Who knew there were so many of these terrible bands throughout the 70s and 80s? When Spotify ended the album and autoplayed the next song I knew it immediately because the Spotify selection didn't completely suck.

Everyone tells me I have to love Nirvana, I'm from Seattle, grew up in the Grunge Era, and many more reasons. But... I don't, there are a couple of good songs on this album, but overall, more bad tracks than good ones. I listened to this album a lot as a young person and never understood why I wasn't getting it, why this album is life-changing. Spoiler, it's because this album isn't good to listen to.

I liked the music, but break up that last 20 minute track, way too meandering and took away from the album as a whole.

It's the blues, overall a technically sound album, a bit repetitive for me but not bad.

Beastie Boys were always meh to me, I'd probably rate a greatest hits album higher, but when you have to wade through the crap tracks for a couple gems it just ain't worth the time.

It was weird, generally enjoyable music, I like the classical vibe to the tunes. It added just enough pop elements to keep me going. Everything about this music clicked when I checked the release date as 1976, jives well with the drugs I assume they were taking when this was made. Well done penguins

I came, I listened, and when it was over that is all I did, there was nothing memorable about the experience, but I definitely had it.

The last one of this artist's albums I listened to on this list was bad, this one isn't, plus it was short. Seems like growth in multiple dimensions. I wonder if there are any regrets about the artist's name, it fit the first album but they (he?) seemed to have grown out of it by the time this one was made.

There was one song I liked, and the rest were a bunch of clunkers, so I give you 3 stars for creating one good song. I think that's kinda a messed up rating system and you can have a good to bad song percentage of 7.7% and still be an average album... upon further reflection I give this album a 2

I love ABBA, but there wasn't a song on here that really got me or that I had heard before and liked. Probably my least favorite ABBA album that I've listened to, and it's between a 3 and a 4, but I'm feeling down right now, so I'll take it out on my favorite 70's Swedish EuroPop Band.

Oasis has two good songs, neither are on this album.

Up and down for me as far as the songs went, usually somewhere between "I wouldn't kick this song out of bed" to "I would definitely kick this song out of bed, I drank too much tequila last night, and that led to a really bad decision."

If I had stopped before the acoustic versions, I think this would have been 5 stars, but with those tracks it got repetitive. While the first half was amazing, it fell off at the end for me, but Heads Will Roll is a certified banger, so I'm giving it 4.5 stars and rounding down.

The lead singer has some serious Bowie vibes, but just not quite on that level. I enjoyed it, but can't give it top marks.

This album was all over the place for me, some great tracks and some questionable ones. I loved this album; the music isn't perfect, and the lyrics are weird, but it made me want to get a group of friends together for a Jagged Little Pill karaoke night.

I remember listening to this album on vinyl in my parents' basement; it felt way cooler and awesome 20 years ago than it does this time around. But a good album, just not great. if I had just been forced to listen to 5 crappy punk albums, I'd give this a higher score, but there have been some good tracks on this list recently, and you are being unfairly compared to some greats.

Albums like this are the reason I keep coming back to this list. A good album that I can listen to and come out the other side feeling like it was worth my ear time to listen to and will try and listen to more of their songs. New discoveries are what keeps this thing going for me.

I would give this 500 stars if I could, top 5 album of all time for me. If I could gather all the stars that I had to give albums that sucked but could not rate zero, then I'd have maybe 10 more stars, and I'd give them all to this album, plus the 500 I mentioned at the start. So that's like 515 stars, sounds about right.

I listened to this one twice, better the second time through cause I was paying more attention. Great lyrics, and you know the sound you are going to get, but too many iconic songs not to give a top rating.

Perfect album to be doing yardwork with, I pulled so many weeds and grooved out.

Started out ok, but not the best overall. When the album was finished, and it flipped over to a new artist, it was the first time I started enjoying the music, but it wasn't Radiohead. That happens a lot to me for this list of albums.
