Very smooth. I had never heard Run Charlie Run before and it was a little jarring.

I liked the second half of this album more than the first half. I think one of the songs may be about a dinosaur, which was a surprise. The vocals in the first half felt strained and were a little anxiety-inducing. I didn’t realize there were elements of jazz jam with this band.
There was a lot more genre variety on this album than I realized
I knew more of these songs than I expected! Definitely a good guidepost country record.
Flashback
Jesus Christ…then I remembered it’s called Murder Ballads so it shouldn’t have come as such a surprise. But then I went back to be like, “Jesus…”
Some of the songs are extremely repetitive. But some of the lyrics are compelling. Don’t love his voice because it sounds kind of strained and wimpy.
I always forget how truly unhinged B-52s were (in the funnest of ways). What an absurd treat.
I had never heard of this band. Really interesting mix of funk, metal guitars, blues, and some throwbacks to Chuck Berry and early rock. The songs probably stand alone well, but I didn’t think they really made sense as an album. This album probably starts to make more sense after a few listens.
Nostalgic as hell. Interesting to listen to these tracks as the originals for countless remixes that have become more popular since 2007. Also Party = Tick Tock?
Very nostalgic, inspired me to be a cig smoking shit kicker who couldn’t get hurt by nobody instead of a wide-eyed and earnest ingenue who got hurt by literally everyone.
