Decent, but I am not the biggest Radiohead fan.

Between a 4 and a 5, but the production really brings this entire album home for me. It does help that this album contains my probably favourite Radiohead songs (Let Down and No Surprises).

Good drums and interesting bassline in some parts.

Some good beats, but lyrics on some of the tracks were straight up cringe.

Introspective, moody, but not a fun time to listen to while running. "Songs about happiness murmured in dreams And we both of us knew how the ending would be"

Not bad at all - very cold, gothic and depressing (everything I understand The Cure to be), but I might not be in the right moment in life to fully enjoy this (it's sunny outside at the end of the day :).

Some decent moments, but felt very derivative (palpable Hendrix influences). Cool guy, decent musician - a much lesser version of Prince. 2.5

i liked bits and pieces, but it rather unremarkable

After over 130 albums, my first 1 Funny enough, I liked some of the stuff near the end, but that was too few too late.

There are some really good moments, but many of the songs suffer from repetitive choruses.

Underwhelming

I've listened to this album a lot of times and I could never figure out why it's rated so highly. One great song, the other stuff is just boring and unmemorable.

Keep On Movin' is such a classic (some might say a club classic), but the rest of the album does not fulfil the tone which was set with some notable exceptions (Back To Life being one)

One of the great vocalists of our time and this album proves it. Wish she would take more risks since you can hear that all of this is in her comfort zone (which just proves what a talent she is).

I am always surprised when something is put under "Punk" and it's incredibly boring each and every time. Completely uninspiring and could not understand the lyrics from the bad production and mumbled vocals. Would have been better without the vocals. Again, not for me.

A lot of different genres in this one, feels very 90s but in a good way. "Movin' on up" is one of those songs that you don't think you know until you hear it and suddenly a core memory is unlocked.

Very rarely do musical acts achieve what Pink Floyd achieved with The Great Gig in the Sky: the lead up to it, the raw, powerful vocals from Clare Torry - incredible. That alone would have warranted a high score for this album, but no they had to go ahead and be even more iconic with Time, Money, Us and Them etc. I know that Pink purists probably would not put this as their best album, but I think it would be slightly pretentious not having this at least in the top 3.

Requires multiple listens to be truly appreciated. Still have yet to reach that number.

Good representation of psych rock. Liked the guitar and drum work on a lot of the tracks as well as the surprising bluesy/folksy elements. The vocals are a bit weak for me and I do feel that the production didn't age the best.

I enjoy Fats' music, but I think it might be best enjoyed through a "Best of" compilation - Ain't That A Shame.

not much to add; this and A Love Supreme are on the peak when it comes to jazz albums

Loved the album as a whole, but the second half has tracks that are skippable for me (Waking The Witch and Watching You Without Me).

3.5 rounding up

This is a weird one. On one hand, there are some beautiful harmonies which bring me back to relisten a lot of these songs, but on the other hand there are a lot of songs which I wouldn't exactly call "nothing songs" but feel "undercooked". The entire album felt like it lacked focus - no idea where it was going, but I enjoyed the ride.

Ironically, I imagine this is what serial killers listen to. Actually listenable when Nick Cave isn't the main "vocal"

The concept of this album, from what I understand, is to make fun of the commercialization of society - the album cover is a dead giveaway with the Warholesque motifs. How I perceived the album is that it represents a radio station with a bunch of unrelated songs, mixed with jingles, commercials, etc. The problem is that this is a very unexciting radio station: the concept is nowhere near as fleshed out as it could've been (an idea that comes to mind is a central figure to the album such as a radio presenter/host who gives a traffic or weather report in between songs that somehow relate to the discussed topic), it falls flat by the second half, and the songs themselves are not that good. Even the one track that was probably envisioned to be a hit, "I Can See For Miles", is just an okay song. All in all, what frustrates me the most about this one is the untapped potential; 2.5 rounding up.

Although I enjoyed hearing the influence of Charles Mingus, "Pyramid Song" is a nothing song to me - as are the rest of the songs (with the exceptions of the first track and "Life In a Glasshouse"; Humph on trumpet). I simply do not get the almost mythological status this band holds. I enjoyed OK Computer, I might like Kid A and/or In Rainbows, but I don't see why this album in particular needs to be on this list.

Very 2000s - it's both its strength and weakness

You always worry when revisiting stuff like this: "Maybe it's not as good as I remember it". Not the case with this one, classic album.
