What a strange album. At times sounding like rising shepherds tone, others sounding like pure groovy pop distillate, this album challenges and envelops. The noise and intentionality is unlike many of its contemporaries, and the mood set is one of a kind.

A mix of songs that creates a meandering LP, flipping across dance music and funk. Overstays at times, and explores some concepts too shallowly

Original and evolving, every Radiohead project sounds the same but in a good way. Not my favorite of theirs because of some of the subdued nature, but nevertheless a shining example of making interesting noise to compliment interesting moods

Scratchy and mean spirited enough to be somewhat enjoyable, yet without the thrust that a similar metal/harder rock project would have to elevate it more for me

Classic and pushes the envelope for the time. Like all skit s these don’t hit

Entrancing. So much soul, idiosyncratic jam, and flow. Hypnotic and warm, glowing like the environment of some flamboyant speakeasy in a distant locality

Wish more variation came from this project, but overall a sad and sweet melodic record. Soulful as this type of twangy country tends to be, the music here feels warm and sad like whiskey by yourself.

Opening with a gorgeous group of flowery pop ballads, this album swells to fill its reputation. Beautifully naive and reminiscent of a childhood I didn’t even have, this album encapsulates the bleach blonde Neverland that is some nonexistent Americana, which is fun to listen to for its novel effervescent simplicity. This in tandem with its joyous orchestration makes quite a standout LP.

Noisy and blown out, this project sounds very much like a drunken Clash or Ramones. A little slower than those exemplary rockers, The Teardrop Explodes was worth a listen and re-listen for some of the most boisterous anthems but had nothing standout to offer for me
