A Night At The Opera by Queen

I've always believed that Queen are one of those bands where the greatest hits album is really all you need. And upon listening to this again for the first time in a few years, it unfortunately did not do enough to sway me from my initial position. The songs everyone knows are very good; the rest range from pretty decent to utterly forgettable.

Great album; still prefer Purple Rain though.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

For as influential and acclaimed Tom Petty would go on to be this is a surprisingly standard blues rock album. It's perfectly fine, but didn't exactly blow me away.

Half of this album is very good and the other half kinda just exists.

Blunderbuss by Jack White

Jack White's "No Name" was one of my favourite albums of 2024 and Blunderbuss feels like a slightly less refined version of that. It's a fun, jaunty blues rock album but is ultimately lacking that special something you come to expect from a Jack White production.

Ramones by Ramones

A punk classic, though it does get kinda repetitive towards the end.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton

I love Dolly as a person but I'm just not a big fan of this kind of music. Maybe it'll grow on me.

My friend once told me that my music taste could be best be described as "sad white boy music", so unsurprisingly I think this album is pretty good.

Has some weak songs but overall this is a great pop album.

New Gold Dream (81/82/83/84) by Simple Minds

It's...fine I guess? I can see how it would have been somewhat revolutionary at the time but nowadays I don't think it really holds up as a classic, must-listen album.
