Absolutely loved this. Have no recollection of hearing them before. Can’t believe this isn’t more famous. Very good. Will listen again.
There are many memorable albums from 1993. This isn't one of them.
Just so good. Still holds up.
An absolute standout of the late aughts. Fun to run it back.
Some fun jams, but lots of filler.
My friends were into the CJs when I was a teen. I wasn't quite punk enough to embrace. Less so 34 years on.
What a gem of an album. This didn't get the airplay it deserved when it was released
The person that created this list is clearly a sadist.
Is if me, or does it feel like it takes a lot of effort to get into J. Mascis's vocals?
Love the Stooges. This one is a little flat for me but interesting for the time.
Not even on the top 101,000 albums you need to listen to.
Much like Moby's memoir, Play has not aged well. In the early aughts, you were practically guaranteed to hear songs from this LP in hotel lobbies that were desperately trying to appear fashionable.
TLC was destiny's child before destiny's child.
But like Jesus Christ there is Before Beyonce and After Beyonce.
What a gem. Such a fun listen and the grooves are so great.
And then there is Eddie Hazel's maggot brain guitar solo. One of my all time favorites.
I'm very jealous or anyone who saw them in the 70s.
Iron Butterfly hits some good riffs but they don't seem to understand that less is more. The vocals and lyrics are distracting. The majority of the LP sounds like a joint venture between Herman's Hermits and King Crimson.
Great, sultry voice. The melodies are nice but the backing smooth jazz sound cheapens everything.
One man's trash is another man's trash.
This isn't one of his best LPs and yet, it's still awesome. Love the bossa nova influence on some of the tracks. Beck is a treasure.
I feel like this could be reduced to 10 songs.
1988. Same year as appetite for destruction. Jane's was well ahead of their time. It's not as strong as Ritual de lo Habitual - their masterpiece - but still cooks.
This is a singular masterpiece by one of the best and most unique musical acts in the last 50 years.
Can you think of any great musician/group that sounded like Pink Floyd? I can't either. They are their own genre.
It wasn't good then. It hasn't gotten better with time.
An extra star to make up for the missing arm of the drummer.
This is a very good album. I like most of the songs. Love a few. I've seen him in concert and loved it.
But, it's just not an album that stylistically speaks to me.
Although I knew the hits, this is the first time I've listened to the LP beginning to end. Quite a variety of fun jams. And Latin Simone was unexpected and great.
Hear it comes and Sea Song had made it to a few of my playlists. Yet, I never listened to this LP all the way through until now. This was my loss. This is a great one.
This is Radiohead at the peak of their powers.
What's remarkable is I'm not sure any of these songs would be in anyone's top five radiohead songs. But half of them are probably in my top 10. This is one of the few LPs where you are compelled to listen end to end. The sequence and transitions from song to song are brilliant. Just like a jigsaws falling into place.
Fun concept album that was ahead of it's time.
Excellent guitars and rhythm section. The vocals are just not for me.
I wanted to give this 4* because there are some classics on here. But there are a handful that are skippable. Also, the production quality and overall musicianship is just not as strong as his other works. Too much synth and not enough Prince jamming out.
Loved this. One horse town is great. Disappointed for them that they couldn't sustain their success.
An absolute classic. I don't think this is peak zeppelin but a great listen.
There is so much about this that I love. The long distance yearning (far far away) struck a chord when i heard it 30 yrs ago. It still does. You feel like your along for the ride in Hotel Arizona.
Far, far away from those city lights
They might be shining on you tonight
Far, far away from you
On the dark side of the room
A great album for its time. Loaded with hits. Stylistically, it's peak 80s.
This is a sweet and tender timepiece with enduring values.
Fiona absolutely deserves to be on this list. IMO, her best album is the follow-up to Tidal, "When the Pawn..." which I'd give 5 stars.
Notwithstanding, this is a solid production with her trademark soulfull voice, acerbic wit and frenetic delivery. Still can't believe she was only 19 when this came out.
It is a sin that only one Rev AL Green Album is on this list. Unacceptable.
As a dead fan, this selection - the only album on this list - is a joke It's not even a top 20 live album, let alone a representation of their thirty plus year career. For that, a concert from the 70s would be needed. Their masterpiece is their 77 Cornell show, but anything between 77 and 84 would be a better entry.
can list ten albums that are more deserving, including working man's dead, American beauty and terrapin station.
For a live/compilation album, this is exceptional. Nirvana showcased their range while paying homage to some less popular artists that inspired them. The last notes of "Where did you sleep last night" is especially haunting given that this was the last recording (for an album) before Kurt died.
This belongs in the top 100 albums of all time. Straight fire.
I like the garage sound. But if this album is consistent with their overall output, the Sonics are a cover band.
This is one of the greatest rock albums of all time. All killer, no filler.
This is a classic and does not get the attention that it so rightly deserves.
5 stars! Although, "the girl is mine" hasn't aged well.
Overall, Thriller is an all-time great. It's so good that you try not to think about his alleged child rape.
A classic. Beginning to end.
A few good songs but far from essential Neil Young
This is an under appreciated album. It's a fun ride.
This is one of my favorite zeppelin albums. Peak John Bonham and a wide range of styles.
This is an exceptional album. All killer, no filler.
It deserves 4 stars but I'm inflating it to 5 stars to protest the fact that Southern Harmony & Musical Companion - their album - was excluded from this list. And yet they include Kings of Leon? Blasphemy.
Dr John is 3 stars. This album is not as good as any of the meters best albums. If course, the meters aren't on this stupid list.
QOTSA is a 3 or 4 star artist but this album isn't in their top 5.
It's a shame that this band/albun was included at expense of much more deserving artists. They had one song. It was a cover.
I'll never understand this music.
Pleasant background music
Hot, nonsensical garbage.
