Marvin Gaye
4/5
Good vibes, I understand why people really enjoy, but I feel like every song is leading up to something and never gets there.
The Mamas & The Papas
4/5
Fun and poppy
Elliott Smith
3/5
I liked it better at 37 than I did when it came out. I know it was indie and probably somewhat DIY but if the production was a little better with more crisp vocals it would sound more clean.
Radiohead
4/5
Never thought I liked Radiohead, but I think it’s because the fans of Radiohead.
Stevie Wonder
4/5
You know, I used to have a velvet Stevie wonder painting, and I also have never listened to a Stevie wonder album. I’ve only ever heard him live on award shows and special performances, and his early stuff is amazing.
The Rolling Stones
3/5
Always a favorite. Never heard all of this album, but it seems to be a good one. I like that the stones always throw back and mix in some classic blues
Aphex Twin
1/5
Not a fan. Industrial Anya with no cohesion.
American Music Club
1/5
Discount Don Henly, wanna be morrisey.
Pass.
Einstürzende Neubauten
1/5
Awful, this album was like when you’re trying to ignore children who are just bound and determined to make you notice them.
Radiohead
3/5
Good album, went by fast. Not sure where this album comes in the discography but ok computer is better.
The Temptations
3/5
Ladysmith Black Mambazo
2/5
Meh. I don’t feel like I NEEDED to listen to this. Just made me tired on my way home from work.
Rod Stewart
3/5
Pretty cool. Rod is a classic. Just like hotdogs and a side of beans.
Blondie
3/5
I like blondes, but blondie doesn’t really do much for me. The house of glass song is cool, but meh.
Daft Punk
4/5
I remember in 1997 I was watching 12 Angry Viewers on MTV, waiting for a new Reel Big Fish video. But instead they played around the world by daft punk, and as I was upset because neither missed RBF or whatever, I was semi interested in what daft punk was doing because of the helmets. But didn’t appreciate it until later in my musical life.
The Smashing Pumpkins
4/5
Cool
Genesis

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Can’t go wrong with Tom.
The Avalanches
3/5
Cool. Liked the songs with samples and dj sounds the most
Harry Nilsson
3/5
Nice album for a drive home from work.
The Beach Boys
2/5
Remember when The Beach Boys were on full house? That was crazy, anyway this album was trash.
The Triffids
2/5
Pass.
AC/DC
3/5
Crazy that bon Scott died so soon after this. Didn’t know how many actual bon Scott songs I knew growing up.
Air
3/5
Ok, nice for drive home from work
Blood, Sweat & Tears
3/5
Sort of good, sort of bad
Queen
4/5
Pretty cool. Not sure if I’ve ever listened to a queen album start to finish. Definitely didn’t know bohemian rhapsody was from this album.
James Brown
3/5
I think it would have been crazy to see James brown at his level of career. But as far as the album goes, nothing better than a good horn section, but my take away was that the album wasn’t mixed very well. Had vocals only on one side
Nick Drake
3/5
Was ok. Doesn’t matter what era we are in or come from there’s always 10 guys that sound like this.
The Incredible String Band
2/5
Not my bag. Just sounds like a day walking around with me saying random words and thought, but now someone put weird music behind it.
Beck
4/5
Pretty slick. I’m having high school flashbacks. Always wondered why new pollution was a not fan favorite but pretty cool memory lane album
Stan Getz
4/5
Pretty slick
Steely Dan
4/5
The sun came out for the first time yesterday in about 20 days. And at the same time I got to listen to this classic masterpiece.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
4/5
Awesome
Metallica
4/5
Hella dank
Black Sabbath
4/5
Have never listened to a black sabbath album. Pretty slick. I see again where lots of people get influence and imitation.
Bob Marley & The Wailers
4/5
Nice way to start the early-morning drive to work
Kate Bush
3/5
This album was a mess. The first half seemed like she recorded the vocals first and then they made music around it, then we go into weird dream scapes? And then guess what all we wound up in Ireland and now we’re listening to Irish folk music, cool
Van Morrison
3/5
AC/DC
3/5
Cool
Ramones
3/5
It’s ok, I personally don’t get why everyone loves them. Maybe it was a time and place type thing. But I wasn’t there so
Klaxons
4/5
The first song hooked me, and then was jamming along, and then it seemed to kind of let up at the end, but all in all good listen
Jimi Hendrix
3/5
Unpopular opinion: Hendrix is kind of overrated. Undeniable skill on the guitar and great vocals, but putting it all together and making albums kinda not great
Motörhead
3/5
Crosby, Stills & Nash
4/5
Pretty cool
Nirvana
4/5
Wow nirvana
Deep Purple
4/5
The only reference to deep purple that I have is smoke on the water. And this album is nothing like smoke on the water, so that’s cool.
Scott Walker
3/5
That first track had me hooked, then it was a wild ride on whether he was an early Orville peck or another morrissey guy. But it was ok
Ali Farka Touré
3/5
As a blues fan, there were parts that I did like but this album was not necessarily my favorite, but cool
Booker T. & The MG's
4/5
Interesting that most of what I listened to of the album had no vocals.
ABBA
3/5
Crazy that all the ABBA songs that I know are on one album currently
3/5
This album was OK, not really sure if Bowie is for me. Not really sure who he was appealing to just because his music was not quite poppy not quite Rocky but I don’t know I wasn’t alive back then, so who knows
Alice Cooper
3/5
Pretty cool again never listen to Alice Cooper album all the way through interesting
The Coral
3/5
Interesting, good, but not probably something I would continue listening to.
Beastie Boys
3/5
I don’t really know if I actually like the beastie boys.
De La Soul
4/5
I feel like I remember that album being better. Still a classic.
Suede
3/5
Interesting not really my first go to, but I get it.
Neil Young
4/5
Neil Young is the best.
k.d. lang
4/5
I’ve never listened to KdLang and only knew about her from references in other things but I was delightfully surprised at this album. Not sure if this is how all of her album sound but it’s got me interested to listen to more.
Jurassic 5
4/5
Classic J5. In rotation still every once in a while.
Rush
4/5
Pretty slick, I was confused with the first song not knowing it was broken up like that I said they really needed to have a better album arrangement. Then realized it’s just an awesome song. So
Jerry Lee Lewis
2/5
Not that great. I bet he got some panties wet back then, but I was dry and annoyed.
Led Zeppelin
4/5
I like that is was more blusey. I’ve only really ever been a hits or the second album guy for Led Zeppelin so wow Led Zeppelin.
Peter Frampton
3/5
This album did not make me come alive. I only know two songs and Frampton seems like the poor man’s almost everyone else. From that era I mean wow I guess.
Deep Purple
3/5
I think this was the first repeat artist that I’ve had. So you know deep purple is pretty cool, and I probably would’ve been into them when they were fresh.
Jefferson Airplane
2/5
Trash. First two songs were a tease and then it’s just some whiny acoustic garbage until white rabbit and white rabbit is literally like a 45 second song and then more trash so nice try guys.
Guns N' Roses
3/5
Wow guns and roses
Lorde
4/5
Not bad, wouldn’t be a personal choice but wouldn’t turn it off if it’s on where I’m at.
Burning Spear
3/5
I always love a good reggae album, but on some of the more serious ones I always feel a little ignorant about what they’re always so mad about so this one was cool, but I feel like there was a lot going on that I don’t know about so.
The Dave Brubeck Quartet
4/5
Nice to have true jazz album, but I’m more of a horn guy, not main piano and drums. But either way a good one for a Friday.
Bob Dylan
3/5
The song about him killing a chick in Paris was cool.
a-ha
3/5
Seems like they probably could’ve been more successful at the Smiths and Morrissey not pretty much pigeonholed this genre
Q-Tip
4/5
Q-tip is always a good listen.
John Lennon
3/5
At first, I was gonna kind of trash it, but then I read what the album was all about and then kind of relisted to a little bit and I think it was OK. I don’t know if it’s up there in the grates of an album that will get repeated, but it’s a good piece of musical history.
Muddy Waters
4/5
Always a good listen with Mr. Muddy Waters, not one of my favorite albums of his but again still a great listen in blues is the best
Michael Jackson
3/5
Jungle Brothers
3/5
Personally, I think this album is boring. That first mid 80s generation of hip-hop when they were still trying to figure things out, no real variances just the same beat pattern, the same rhyme pattern over a regular snare. Meh
TLC
2/5
Not my jam. I feel like when I was a teenager and it came out It was better? But now, as an almost 40-year-old it is not great.
The Who
3/5
Not the best. Baba O’Reilly and the other song are obviously cool but the rest of the album didn’t do much for me. The only real who album I like is the Tommy album so
Rage Against The Machine
4/5
Not my favorite of the group but still a favorite group. I feel like I wish I liked Rage Against the Machine more than I do even though I still like them, but anyway good album
4/5
Pretty good I’ve never listened to her before. I think that some of the songs could really be punched up with some better more intense drum work, but if it’s for the time and place when this album came out good listen
Beach House
4/5
Good listen makes me maybe wanna listen to more of their albums.
Jimi Hendrix
4/5
I got this record when I was a kid and thought it was the coolest. One of his better offerings IMO. But still there’s something about some Hendrix that sometimes feels unorganized and unfinished
Kanye West
4/5
Kanye has always been a confusing artist to me. This album has some really great lyrics and ideas. Some of the beats are a bit strange but they work and having this be my first Kanye album that I’ve listened to in years it was a good one.
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
4/5
Pretty good album. Never understood the addition of Neil young to the group but it was cool. A little weird the way the album ends on kind of an abrupt song.
B.B. King
4/5
Doesn’t get much better than the king
Butthole Surfers
1/5
Trash. 2 minute songs with 30-60 second intros. No thanks.
Television
4/5
I usually don’t care for those late 70s early 80s pop or I guess not pop punk but new wave punk rock bands but this one was actually pretty good. Don’t know if I wanna list other other other albums but this album was great.
Tom Waits
4/5
No notes.
Funkadelic
2/5
Not very mind blowing
The Kinks
2/5
Boring not my jam.
Prince
3/5
As a 38-year-old adult, I think I really miss the boat on being a person that is in love with prince. I do know that he is a incredibly talented musician, but I don’t know.
Sigur Rós
3/5
Nice album to wind down with after a hard day at work.
3/5
Fun.
Bob Marley & The Wailers
3/5
The Beta Band
3/5
Fun listen, makes you wanna maybe listen to other albums.
Neneh Cherry
2/5
Not really my jam. There’s probably some decent lyrics in there, but not really my thing.
Little Simz
3/5
Turn off I would put it into my rotation, but it was a nice listen for a 45 minute drive.
Bruce Springsteen
2/5
Not really sure why everyone loves Bruce so much. Half of this album is sort of incoherent
Nine Inch Nails
3/5
Always a good listen.
Björk
3/5
I get the idea behind it. I understand why people would be into it, so technically I do like it but I don’t want to listen to it.
Haircut 100
3/5
I appreciate a ska band just as much as the next person, but this one didn’t catch my vibe.
The Streets
2/5
I remember when that came out, and I don’t remember liking it then. So not much has changed.
The Isley Brothers
3/5
Ok
R.E.M.
3/5

Pere Ubu
3/5
Didn’t give me riled up.
Carole King
3/5
That’s a pretty good listen nice chill album for a drive home after work didn’t know three of those singles were her, but I guess I never really knew who the artist was for those singles in general so when when when
Taylor Swift
1/5
No thanks.

1/5
That’s a no for me dog. New generation trying to be Don Henley.

2/5
Oh wow, the clash.

Fever Ray
3/5
Wasn’t really my vibe
Pink Floyd
4/5
Classic
Michael Jackson
3/5
Fun
Paul McCartney and Wings
4/5
I’ve never heard this album before let alone not too much of wings in general, but I think McCartney might be the better of the Beatles. I feel like he was just way more open to different musical styles and taste and I think that he honestly could’ve been kind of a heavier artist, maybe a different time but regardless
Nas
4/5
One of the best.
The Charlatans
3/5
Good background music, sounds like filter
Dinosaur Jr.
3/5
First time listen
George Harrison
3/5
Good and fun
Violent Femmes
3/5
Good and fun
Faith No More
4/5
Pretty awesome. Never listened to them other than the one single.
The Allman Brothers Band
4/5
My dad told me a story once that he had breakfast with the allman brothers at a truck stop diner. Anyways this album and eat a peach are two very nostalgic pieces of music for me, since it was one of the things that bonded myself with my dad. But another thing that bothers me about older live albums is that they cut out the in between of songs. Makes you wonder if they are also doing arrangement swaps so the songs aren’t in that order or different takes elsewhere.
Anyways.
Portishead
4/5
This album or maybe the other one was one of the first times I realized as a young lad that you could throw some music on and set the right kind of mood for you and young lady so cool.
Other than that amazing three albums amazing band would love to see them live on the musical bucket list of concerts.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
4/5
Nick Cave to me has always been one of those guys that even though I haven’t really ever listened to him I just know that it’s awesome and this album was no different than those thoughts the composition and background vocals and good album all from front to back.
Pixies
3/5
Not really my jam, but I get the appeal for the era.
Bon Jovi
3/5
Quite the banger
The Yardbirds
3/5
OK listen. I didn’t listen to the whole thing though.
Morrissey
3/5
I never really got on the mortuary/smiths band wagon. But it’s not terrible. Nice after work drive home album.
Michael Jackson
3/5
Crazy the life and times of Michael Jackson.
A Tribe Called Quest
4/5
No notes.
The Residents
1/5
Trash, with a side of garbage.
Cypress Hill
3/5
Never was a huge fan, but I like them enough to respect it
The Velvet Underground
2/5
Not great
Public Enemy
3/5
This album is kind of a mess. Chuck D is such a good emcee that it’s a bummer that some of the songs are just jumbled
Janelle Monáe
3/5
I’ve been a fan of hers for a long time, but have never really listened to any albums. This one makes me think that Beyoncé ripped half of lemonade from this album.
SAULT
2/5
Not really my vibe. Not a dance hall guy
Les Rythmes Digitales
3/5
Again, not my immediate taste, but this one had more positivity in it than the SAULT album.
Joni Mitchell
3/5
Good vibes. What a time to be a music lover in the 70’s.
The Offspring
3/5
This was kind of an anthem in my younger days, and it’s crazy that he’s a scientist.
Stevie Wonder
3/5
Not my favorite by Stevie, but still had some good songs.
Neil Young
3/5
Wasn’t the best, but it was a regular Neil Young album.
Mott The Hoople
2/5
Not my jam, poppy but meh.
Ministry
3/5
Pretty cool, never really listened before but have heard of ministry for years. A little too much prog stuff for me but cool nonetheless.
Frank Zappa
3/5
Pretty sweet. It was Good Friday vibes
The Cure
2/5
I didn’t like it, but I let it happen to me.
Death In Vegas
2/5
Didn’t listen to all of it, but it was ok
R.E.M.
3/5
I’m learning that I like REM more than I thought or knew.
Led Zeppelin
2/5
Other than immigrant song this album is a snoozer.
Leonard Cohen
3/5
Weird like Tom waits. I’ll have to try and finish it later.
David Bowie
2/5
Not very interesting
Pulp
2/5
Not my favorite, but if it was on in the background I probably wouldn’t notice.
Gram Parsons
2/5
Not the best country album, he seems a little confused.
The Beach Boys
3/5
It’s The Beach Boys
Beatles
3/5
Probably my pick for one of the better albums.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
3/5
I like Neil young and I like jam bands, but I don’t think a Neil young jam band fits my need to listen to list.
The Mars Volta
3/5
When this album came out I was having my mind blown by it. They were in heavy rotation for the next couple years.
Manic Street Preachers
2/5
Maybe I’m not in the right mood, but I don’t really like it.
Beth Orton
3/5
Nice and easy, but if I had her in a mix of other women artists of the release time I wouldn’t be able to pick her out.
Fatboy Slim
3/5
Background music, not my first choice.
Fela Kuti
4/5
Pretty lively and fun. Nothing beats a good horn section
Os Mutantes
2/5
Fine but not my choice to be in a rotation for me.
Cornershop
3/5
I remember brimful of Asha on the tv and radio, but as far as the rest of the album, I can listen to it once and be ok.
Spiritualized
2/5
Not my favorite, weird to read and hear that this was someone’s “masterpiece”
Soundgarden
4/5
Classic.solid that still stands strong today. I’d love to go back to my younger self and ask why I didn’t like this when I was a kid.
Moby
3/5
Don’t really care for money, but this album is ok
Duran Duran
3/5
Pretty much a banger. I bet when this hit the streets it was chaos.
Van Halen
4/5
Talk about getting hard and taking a ride, this album just like 1984 rips and keeps on rippin
Arcade Fire
3/5
Arcade fire always a band on my fringe, never think about them till I hear them and I enjoy the listen every time.
Lauryn Hill
3/5
Good Friday listen, only every really heard this in background.
Blur
3/5
I don’t remember much from this album when it came out other than song two, but not the best. I like the Gorillaz more now.
Leonard Cohen
3/5
Don’t really know how I feel about this album. I feel like I had an earlier album of his or a different one earlier in the mix that I liked, but this one is just really 50-50 for me.
Jane's Addiction
3/5
Classic, again wasn’t really into them when they were out was only 2 when this hit. But I appreciate what they were doing and have done.
Manic Street Preachers
3/5
This album was better than the last MSP one that came through the rotation. I still find it weird that reviews call these masterpieces and other highly praised words. I don’t hear it.
ZZ Top
3/5
Pretty slick, ZZ Top is super cool
Bruce Springsteen
2/5
I don’t get why Bruce is so celebrated. Mostly sounds like mush mouth drunk karaoke.
Marianne Faithfull
1/5
Discount Stevie nicks
Amy Winehouse
4/5
Not a bad song by her. A shame she died
Joan Baez
3/5

Nirvana
3/5
Wow. Nirvana

2/5
Not my favorite thing from buddy
The Modern Lovers
3/5
Didn’t get much of it listened to but I can hear some things I Ike. Can hear some other bands possibly taking influence from this group
Elvis Costello & The Attractions
2/5
This was ok but then would be not sure if it was produced bad, or what. But I think I might just not like Elvis.
Tim Buckley
1/5
I say no bueno.
Buena Vista Social Club
4/5
Hell yeah. Give me mariachi on a Friday any day of the week.
Foo Fighters
3/5
The foo is coo
Marilyn Manson
3/5
It’s crazy there was only one single on this album and he had such a reach. Lots of good production on this one, good vocal layerings to get 3 tones of his voice
Billy Bragg
3/5
Odd, but I kind of liked it, but also didn’t.
Astor Piazzolla
3/5
This one was a little stressful to listen to while driving, but good bits
The Notorious B.I.G.

Classic
Sex Pistols
3/5
It’s ok. I don’t need to listen to it, but I can tolerate it because I know what the Sex Pistols mean to that time and genre
Rahul Dev Burman
2/5
Interesting choice. Had some good things inside, the opening song was sampled in an album that I was really into a few years back. It’s interesting to listen to some of this obscure stuff and hear samples
OutKast
4/5
Banger in high school, banger still today.
Elton John
3/5
First Elton John album I’ve listened all the way through. Heard plenty of songs and live stuff, but never needed to listen to a whole thing

Classic. Been in rotation for 20 years
The Doors
3/5
Not the best thing I heard that day.
PJ Harvey
3/5
Ok album, didn’t get me too excited, but didn’t put me to sleep.
M.I.A.
3/5
Pretty tight. M.I.A. And daft punk should make an album
Ramblin' Jack Elliott
3/5
Good blues.
Louis Prima
3/5
Funny, but boring. Crazy that people would probably think some of the content in these songs were controversial in 56’
The Flaming Lips
3/5
Pretty good album. I like that it was about a robot.
KISS
2/5
Kiss is such a weird idea to me and it’s crazy that at the time they were considered heavy I suppose or just I don’t know a lot of it’s very anti-climactic and Peter Chris drums are in my opinion pretty weak to match the guitars, but I don’t know
Adele
4/5
Great album every time you listen to it it makes you get inside your own feelings think about life
The Cars
3/5
Crazy that this album had four major major hits on it and I didn’t know that any of them were by this band except for the let the Goodtimes roll.
Bill Evans Trio
3/5
Nothing like some sweet smooth jazz.
The Doors
3/5
Boring. I get why they were cool then.

3/5
Interesting listen. Lots of different sounds. Good background music
Depeche Mode
3/5
Always been a band I half like. Some of it’s cool and some really not.
U2
3/5
It’s ok. Never really been a huge fan of U2, just a band that continues on that we have to listen to.
The Go-Go's
2/5
Not feeling it. I know they were a hit when it came out, but it does r have enough octane for me.
Parliament
4/5

Pink Floyd
3/5
Very good
Public Enemy
4/5
I have always had a weird take on Public Enemy. I really enjoyed Chuck D’s lyrics and message, but can’t stand flava flav. I also feel like if we were to remix a lot of Public Enemy with new beats I feel it would be way better, but that’s just one white guy’s opinion
