I liked this! All I’d heard from the police before this were ‘Every breath you take’ and ‘Roxanne’. My favourite was the opening track ‘Message in a bottle’.
I had only heard ‘Where is my mind’ from the Pixies before this so I was happy to hear a bit more. Overall I liked the album but don’t know if their style of rock is completely my thing. Still enjoyed it and added 3 songs to my playlist!
First time listening to a solo Lennon album front to back. I liked quite a bit of it! Added 3 or 4 songs to my playlist. I definitely vibe with his more slow and low key songs compared with the more rock heavy tracks. Still hard to match his stuff with Paul McCartney.
I genuinely wasn’t expecting to like this album based purely off of only knowing ‘song 2’. Imagine my surprise when it’s my favourite of the year so far! I love how experimental the instrumentals get especially in the second half of the album. Two thumbs up!
This was my first 10 that’s been recommended to me. I absolutely LOVED this and had never heard of the Cocteau twins before. Definitely need to check out their other stuff now. Just really enjoyed their vibe.
Greenday were my favourite band when I was 9 years old. I loved their main songs. Not sure if their music still does it for me. I enjoyed moments of the album but I highly doubt this would be something I’d revisit.
This was funky! Really enjoyed the vibe of this album and it’s definitely not what I’d normally listen to. I got a bit over the sound after a full album. Would probably only revisit individual songs rather than a full album next time.
I used to be a massive rap fan but have really fallen out of love with the genre except for a few key artists. This really wasn’t my thing. I can appreciate that he has good flow and some of the beats were cool, but I didn’t add any of the songs to my playlist.
Really liked this! REM has such a great style that’s hard not to enjoy. Will definitely be revisiting.
This album was really good! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I only really knew of Feel Good Inc before listening to this so I was surprised at how different it all sounds. Nearly every instrumental is incredibly unique and catchy. I think this has the record for most songs added to the playlist. Will definitely listen again!
This was just a delight to listen to. ‘Oh you pretty thing’ absolutely SLAPS. Can’t believe I didn’t know some of these songs. David Bowie’s whole vibe is just great. Will listen again.
This album was so strange. I honestly don’t know if I liked it or not. Some of the songs were pretty funky and enjoyable, but I highly doubt I’d revisit this as a whole project.
‘Have you ever seen the rain’ is my favourite song of all time so I was quite excited when this was recommended. I didn’t really love the sound though. I could appreciate that they are great at what they do but that type of rock just isn’t my thing. Still glad I listened!
This album makes me think of playing Tony Hawk’s American Sk8land on my Nintendo DS. Can’t argue with remembering my salad days! Enjoyed it way more than ‘Dookie’. Jesus of suburbia is a welcome marathon of a song. I thought the album must nearly be finished but then realised I was still on song #2! It’s easy to forgot how many absolute classics Greenday have - and it seems most of them are on this album!
This is so different to the kind of music I usually listen to. There were some cool unique sounds across the album which I liked and I added a few songs to the playlist.
I absolutely love the Pogues. This was so fun to listen to. Irish music has a unique ability to make me want to dance and cry at the same time. Was great to hear some of their less known songs.
I didn’t love this. Had it on and found it very easy to tune it out. Just wasn’t the kind of sound I’m into.
This was simply lovely. Had a fantastic tim listening to it. Something about old melancholic music just hits right what I’m looking for in music. Will definitely revisit.
I didn’t like this. What the hell was with the guy moaning his orgasm got an entire song. Doubt I’d revisit this as it really wasn’t for me.
Overall I like this kind of vibe of music quite a bit, but I felt that this was just missing something. It had all the usual elements of a sadboy indie type album but it made me feel nothing. Maybe I just didn’t connect with what he was singing about.
This is just exquisite. A perfect 10 from me. It’s so rare to find an album where every song is a joy to listen to and seems innovative. This is a 50 year album that sounds so contemporary. David Bowie is a musical genius.
A lot of this sounded really dated to me compared to the Rolling Stones contemporaries like the Beatles. It really picked up in the back end of the album though. I really enjoyed the last few songs but I think I went in with too high expectations.
Felt fairly forgettable. I liked the last two songs but I’m writing this review the morning after I listened and I couldn’t tell you much about the album.
Definitely not my favourite Beatles album. It sounded a bit dated (which is fair considering it’s 60 years old). But compared to some of their other work it didn’t wow me. Still a solid listen and better than average.
I adored this. Just so much fun to listen to. One of those rare albums where I can honestly say I loved every song.
I absolutely love abba. Cannot believe i haven’t actually sat down and listened to a full album of theirs before. Needless to say it did not disappoint. Sooooo good! I thought the first half was better than the second. But still loved it as a whole. Their sound is so iconic.
I only knew these guys as the people who made the song that’s at the end of friends. Turns out they have some really good songs! Thought the album was a bit bloated and lost interest by the end of it but still enjoy their sound.
Adele really is the best in the biz at what she does. Sad breakup songs don’t get much better than her. Amazing songs and amazing voice.
This was absolutely lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed this as a whole album. I think that I’ll have a few of these on repeat for the next few weeks. Really liked the contrast of the upbeat sounds with the depressing lyrics.
A nice listen! I enjoyed a few of the songs. A very country vibe which can be quite hit or miss but this was more in the style I liked. Would listen again
This just didn’t really appeal to me sonically. It sounded messy and unenjoyable. Probably wouldn’t listen to it again.
This album is great. It had a consistent vibe throughout but every song sounded unique. I really enjoyed the voice of the singer and I will definitely listen again
This was such a strange album. I think that’s what I’m enjoying so much about this challenge - is finding music I never would listen to previously. I really enjoyed the unique sound. I added some songs to my playlist but I probably wouldn’t reliaten to it all in a hurry.
This is just pure talent. Making a wordless album with pure piano this engaging shouldn’t be possible. The songs flip between moods in their long run times. I was listening on my walk to the train and felt like the main character in a movie about to go to the pivotal scene. Great stuff.
This is great chilled out music. Bob Marley is the king of this kind of sound. I found myself feeling very relaxed and drifting out daydreaming while listening.
This was not my kind of music at all. Just didn’t really enjoy it. I liked the last few songs.
You’ve gotta give credit to this type of music. It pioneered a lot and had it not been copied and emulated so much I probably would enjoy it more. I didn’t add any songs to my playlist but can still appreciate its quality.
This was dope. Lorde makes some incredible music. The production was top notch and she made me feel things. Quite comparable to an Adele album.
Listening to this coincided on going to what I knew was a sure thing breakup. The sounds just hit perfectly for what I was feeling at the time. I can’t stress how much I love David Bowie.
These guys are absolute pioneers of hip hop. Without them there’d be no Eminem (my favourite artist) so I’m glad this album exists. I don’t really enjoy this style all that much but I can’t deny it’s great and is a certified classic.
I absolutely LOVED this. The first disc is an easy 10 for me. I didn’t really enjoy disc 2 as much - but the first side being so good is still gonna keep my rating perfect. Love phill Collins but more so love the unique sound of the production.
This is quite simply one of the best albums I’ve ever listened to. I can’t believe I haven’t given Neil Young the attention he deserves. Every single song on here was absolutely beautiful and completely melancholic. 10/10 will not shut up about this for a while.
This just made me think of an Adam Sandler film. I enjoyed Jump but didn’t really get much out of the listen.
Some really nice chill music! Probably won’t revisit too much as it wasn’t 100% my vibe. But still enjoyed it.
Not really my style of music but she did have a lovely voice.
Fantastic album. What a great time it is to listen to. One of those albums where I could happily add all of the songs to a playlist.
Strong and absolutely classic opening track but didn’t really vibe with the rest of it.
Not my style of music but can’t deny that there were some funky beats.
Amy is pretty cool! I like some of the songs on this album but I’m not a huge fan of her sound.
Elevator music: the album.
Good beats and fun songs. I just don’t really like hip hop anymore.
Very cool album with cool sound. Felt old school but modern at the same time. Groovyyyy
These guys are pretty dope. I’d have to be in a specific mood to listen to their music but can’t deny they are hype af.
Cool sound! I enjoy listening to albums not in English l.
I liked this! Retro vibes. I would have guessed it’s older than the 90s.
Elevator music: the album (pt 2)
This album is absolutely great. Loved every song!
Snore
Was ok. Liked the second song.
Frank has a great sound
Couldn’t be further from my style.
Actually brilliant. Loved the vibe. Ethereal music that makes you feel shut and think about life.
Disc one I found a bit meh but holy shit disc two rocked. Most funky and fun to listen to album! Strange relationship is a fucking banger
Nice chill background music. Would be good study music.
Absolutely excellent. Loved the whole vibe of the album.
I find full instrumental albums pretty hit and miss. This was mid imo
Talk about judging a book by its cover. I proper enjoyed this and thought it was gonna suck.
An absolute joy to listen to. Love love loved this.
Amazing album. Unique and fun listen
Lovely voice but felt myself tuning out.
AC/DC is so fun to listen to.
Snoreeeeee
Incredible album. PLUS a sneaky shrek song thrown in.
Boring
Unreal sound.
Loved it
Meh
Absolutely borinnggggg
This is proper good. Loved it 🤩
So bad
Some lovely songs on here
This felt like a chore to get through
Iconic
Funky beats. Easy listen
I couldn’t finish this. Who wants to listen to nearly 2 hours of elevator music
This album is so weird and all over the place but I kind of loved it.
Absolutely outstanding 11/10. Every song was so unique and incredible to listen to.
This was fucking outstanding. Some beautifully sad songs and that’s what I love.
So unique, very good fun
I love Radiohead
Honestly unreal.
Tuned the fuck out
Absolutely lovely. Only knew hallelujah before this but man’s got some bangers
Nice!
I actually really liked this. Perfect vibe for solo travel
Come back to this
Will come back to you
This was funky af. I really rate Sam Cooke
A very nice album. Soothing sounds
George Michael is quality.
Not my style
Nice
This ain’t it chief
An absolutely perfect album. Every single song made me feel something
Bro what the hell this is some of the best music I’ve ever heard. How have I never heard of this band. Easy 10/10
Some absolute classics in here
Some absolutely lovely songs here but no album needs to be 30 songs and 90 mins
Background listen for me
Absolutely brilliant
Some nice songs on here!
Not really my thing
This sounds like a garbage nickleback
Funky! But too much for a whole album. I could only do a song at a time in future.
Really not for me
Excellent
Outstanding
Really liked this! Vibey and cool quick short songs.
Didn’t really do anything for me
Lovely but simply TOO LONG
Some pretty nice songs
