Without a doubt beastie boys best album and should be a starting point for anyone looking to get into them. As timeless in 2026 as it was when it came out.

Our Aim Is To Satisfy by Red Snapper
Jun 10 2026

Ok ambient music. Hard to have in the foreground though, much more of a soundtrack/background vibe that I don’t mind playing but don’t pay a ton of attention to.

Thriller by Michael Jackson

Solid, but so overplayed I can’t sit through the whole thing.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine

Spooky mid 80’s punk. The album has a vibe to it that I was not expecting. Nice synths throughout, and yet never felt overdone.

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Jul 06 2026

Moments of cool and original, with at least 3 songs I would listen to anytime of the day. Overall though, probably not putting this on unless I want to hear one of the 3 songs that are worthy.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Jul 07 2026

Some good songs, and quintessential White stripes “sounds”. A decent listen but rare I would throw it on.

Softer gently-er Morrissey. A little boring but a few tracks stand out like “the more you ignore me…”

Bad by Michael Jackson
Jul 09 2026

Objectively, it is a good album. I struggle with the fact that so much of it has been overplayed. Front to back though a single listen through is worth it, but just once, then you are feeling like you cant take any more, at least for a few years.

Jul 10 2026

Michael Stipe is best showcased on this album. Solid encapsulation of late 80’s and more than one track is all time classic.

Strange background music. Enjoyable if you need something in the background with guests over who thrive with some weird shit on.

Music Has The Right To Children by Boards of Canada
Jul 16 2026

In terms of ambient music, this fits the bill, but is also a little more than that. Moments up upbeat brings this album back to the foreground in whatever I’m doing, and I enjoy it. Overall though, I rarely put it on, too many other albums edge this out.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Jul 22 2026

Surprisingly fun, with a few tracks that need to be skipped.

Marquee Moon by Television
Jul 24 2026

This album plays in my head almost all the way through at least once a month. Start to finish, it is a joy.

Jul 27 2026

not a bad listen, but a few other cash albums I would put on before this one. Still this puts a solid end note on his legacy

Jul 28 2026

of the original 4 studio albums from The Smiths, this one gets the least amount of listen time, but has a really full, polished Smiths sound and is a great once-or-twice-a-year-listen-all-the-way-through album.

Rings Around The World by Super Furry Animals
Jul 29 2026

psychedelic vibes at moments, which are enjoyable at times but overall gets tiresome. nice blend of electronic and pop.

Jul 31 2026

I try to ignore prog rock, but this album has enough strange moments to keep me hooked. Pleasantly surprised I made it through most of it. Once a year listen at most, but still worthy of that one listen a year.

Really solid start to finish.

A Northern Soul by The Verve
Aug 06 2026

Three great songs, the rest are meh.

Aug 13 2026

Moments of odd, but overall an ok listen.
