1001 Albums Summary

Kinda boring but still good, a lot of instrumental and almost no lyrics. It has rock, a little jazz and some latin rhythms. Fav song is „Mother‘s daughter“

Jazz, no lyrics at all, tracks are 10 mins long, it’s good but not for me

Something a little more mainstream, great album, has a few bangers, fav is „Runaway“. It’s basic yet very good

This one I was somewhat familiar with before receiving, classic rock, good guitars, can’t determine a fav song, I really like most of them

Not the best album of the Smiths, still okay, it seemed to be a lot more folk-influenced than their others, fav song is „Well i wonder“

Never heard of this before but his songs are great, melodies are simple, liked his lyrics, overall very likeable with the exception of a couple songs, fav is “Place to be”

Kinda reminded me of Pink Floyd for some reason, it’s plain rock i think, a lot of guitar stuff, very typical

Way too much folk for my liking

Listenable but i liked his other album better, kinda depressing, fav song is “Fruit tree”

Ts the longest one i’ve listened to but it’s okay the album is great. At least three absolute bangers, fav is “Thru the eyes of Ruby”. Not a full 5 star but banger to bad ones ratio is acceptable so.

Ik this album’s good and all but there were a couple of veery bad ones and ik voiceovers are Kendrick’s thing but u really get tired of them at some point. That being said i never thought this was his best.

Fav is “So long, Marianne”

Again, not too big of a Led Zeppelin fan, ig i liked “Immigrant song”

Very impressive and mad underrated. Unique vocals. I’m surprised I don’t mind the country here, though i think there’s some blues as well.

Your average R&B stuff mostly. Despite this album being quite recent, i had not heard a single song from it so yeah i’m happy to receive something on here from this century for once. Best is “Pick up your feelings”. A high 3

Strong start! Probably the best jazz album I’ve received so far. It is however unbearably long and there is no reason to include the announcements as well. A high 3

Peak hip hop icl. I like a few of the tracks but “Ready or not” has always been a banger. This is something you actually have to hear before you die.

Saw the first title and knew this was gonna be peak. Bonus points for being relatively short.

Nice debut, really. “Cry me a river” is a timeless one, my favourite is “Nothin else”. Gotta have respect for Justin, he’s very talented. A lot of the tracks are kinda repetitive tho. High 3

Have a love hate relationship with yeah yeah yeahs. One minute it sounds nice, the next-unbearable. Not a fan of the screaming/moaning. Favourite track is “Maps”

Tried to keep track of the songs that get repeated in this so i listen to them only once but there are probably a few i still haven’t heard. Really like the Who i think they’re pretty influential. Fav track might be “Getting in tune”.

Not an every day listen, but i appreciate it.

I’m kinda glad this site makes me listen to jazz so often, cause i probably wouldn’t sit to do it on my own. Solid 3 but it was enjoyable.

Ik ppl like this one a lot, the production’s good, the lyric might be the best thing about it. Her voice kinda annoys me at times tho. Favourite track is “Little green”. A high three

Not a big fan of The beach boys, but I do see the influence they had for their time. I have a feeling this album isn’t their best one so i’m looking forward to receiving something else of theirs.

Interesting overall, a little slow in the beginning. A low 4 but that’s being generous.

Like ts, it kinda reminds me of Madonna but either way more disco. The first few songs were great.

Perhaps this caught me in a good mood cuz it currently sounds to me like Miley Cyrus sounds to divorced moms in their late 40’s. Only a couple songs I didn’t particularly like. Favourites: “Gimme Shelter”, “Live with me” and “ You can’t always get what you want”.

Was kinda interesting in the beginning, after that it just became bland. Their female singer reminds me a bit of Gloria Gaynor for some reason.

Like his singing, he seems to put a lot into it. „Free from guitar“ is like diabolic, but since I like the other ones a low 4.

Okay lyrics, but I’m afraid this is as far as this album’s redeeming qualities go. Barely any singing, he just rambles with music on the background. Goddamn harmonica is so annoying. This is not a 1 only because I have respect for Bob Dylan.

This album’s so tuff, despite the screaming. I like the sound effects. Fav tracks: “Piggy” and “Hurt”, though I do prefer Johnny Cash’s version.

These guys mix genres very well, i appreciate that. Some of these tracks are peak summer music. Fav song: “Kids”

I‘d vaguely heard of this band before the album came up on here. The first thing i noticed is how different each track sounds, which I rlly appreciate. A lot of enjoyable ones i gotta say. One thing i don’t understand is why name urselves Scissor sisters when yall are 3 dudes and one woman. Low 4

I rlly like dr Dre idk why particularly i don’t really listen to rap/hip hop on a daily basis. However i do prefer 90’s rappers over more modern ones so i really appreciate the guy. Would revisit this album it was good (with the exception of that one intro).

At first thought it was an average country album (a 1) but then it kinda grew on me so i buffed the rating. Gotta say i did not listen till the end, i can only take so much of this genre.

Pretty chill. Fav track is obviously the original “The girl from Ipanema”, such an influential piece. “Corcovado” is also peak.

Like a 6,5 its okay. Fav track: “How can you mend a broken heart”. Kinda reminds me of portisehad’s “Glory box” i think.

Love the tone of this whole album and it’s definitely one of Radiohead’s best. I actually believe “Weird fishes” might be the song that introduced me to the band, as i briefly remember hearing it when i was little. Fav song: “Jigsaw falling into place”. Probably a couple boring tracks but overall it’s definitely a favourite of mine.

Seemed to me quite diverse compared to Abbey Road, but also definitely not as good. A few really good tracks, including “I’m so tired”, “Martha mg dear” and ofc “Blackbird” is worth the mention. Idk whats going on in “Revolution 9” tho

I liked “Light Flight”. Female vocals lowk remind me of Kate Bush. A little weird of an album i gotta say.

Really liked some of these, though the sound quality was bad at times. One of my favs is “Don’t let the sun catch you crying’”. Really like the violins in the slower tracks, as well as the tempo of the livelier ones.

I listened a lil bit but i dont really like metal so idk. “Got the life” is kinda good

Absolute peak of an album. “Monday monday” is probably my fav track but only cause i have overplayed “california dreamin” so much. Cass Elliot has a lovely voice. The “dialogues” between the two lead singers are so amazing, the background harmonies are relatively simple, yet perfectly executed. Also the production is great, considering how old this is.
