1001 Albums Summary

This is my first album on here. I mostly listen to 2000s hip hop so this is very interesting to hear something from the 80s. Some of the songs werent for me but its a very good album. Safe to say that i will revisit this album again. Saved songs: Posse in effect, girls, fight for your right, brass monkey, time to get ill

Well, this album certainly wasnt for me. Its really just boring covers of 50s pop songs that could put me to sleep. Then imagine my surprise when i found out this guy has 104 albums. I can see why some people like the album tho. Its not a personal favorite, but it has good production and lyrics so i will give this a 2/5. I will not be revisiting this album again. I didnt save any of the songs. Is this album better than yesterday’s album, licensed to ill by the beastie boys? No.

I dont have much to say about this album. I really dont. The first half feels like a greatest hits album and the second half feels like filler. I will not be revisiting this album again. 3 stars Saved songs: Mr brightside, somebody told me, on top Was this album better than yesterday’s album, Stardust by Willie Nelson? Yes.

This is my 4th album review on here, so ive never really listened to 60s rock before as a 2000/10s hiphop listener. That being said, this is an album that gets better after every listen. I can only imagine what the VU & Nico album sounds like. Easily 4 stars. Best song: The Murder Mystery Was this album better than yesterday’s album, Hot Fuss by The Killers? Yes.

I really dont have time for this so i give this a 3 stars for the sake of being a 90s jazz album Edit from future me: I finally got around to listening to this album again. This is a very great piece of music by some great singers. Im gonna give this project 4 stars.

Immaculate piece of music. It would be wrong not to mention how good “Its a fire” is. Probably a top 10 song of all time. Feels a lot like a hip hop album as well. 4 stars. Was this album better than yesterday’s album, In Rainbows by Radiohead? No. Edit: This is 5 stars and 1000x better than every Radiohead album combined

4 stars for album #44 This is actually my second PJ Harvey album in a row. I got stories from the city yesterday and gave that a 3. I think dry sounds more from the heart than the other one and overall this one is a fun listen So yeah 4 stars

Pink floyd on a budget

If i was rating this just based off of how much i enjoyed it, this would be a 1. But we’re not doing that here. Unlike the only album i actually gave a 1, heaux tales, Taylor actually has talent so i think its fair to give 1989 a 3 star rating. Best songs are the hits that 99% of us have already heard before listening to the album. But by far my favorite song is wildest dreams. Kendrick is on here so that’s cool.

Ari Up can sit beside Neil Young and Jeff Tweedy for having the worst voice that this generator has given me. This is going to be my second one-star album.

This album put a grand total of zero new songs on my playlist, which is actually quite an accomplishment if you ask me. I mean I should’ve expected that with an album cover where I can count the number pixels on two hands, one for each star I’m giving this album.

Ill be honest i zoned out on my first listen of this one. On my second listen, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I can give this 4 stars. The only thing that could make this album worse is if Neil Young joined the group. But that would never happen, right?

That synth at the beginning of pipes honour scared the living shit out of me. But yeah, this is a very enjoyable album to listen to, but i dont think i will be revisiting this anytime soon.

Alright. Thats it. I’m packing my bags and I’m moving to Germany now. All jokes aside, This is a good example of German electronic music. And not just Autobahn, all of Kraftwerk. Neu! could have learned a few things from this album when they made neu 75. Great job Kraftwerk. Some may say that this album is a great craft-work! I don’t think I can put this on the same level as Trans Europe Express and I haven’t listened to The Man Machine yet. Especially as I don’t find Mitternacht to be that appealing. That song is kind of like Moonchild off of In the Court of the Crimson King. I will say that Morgenspaziergang, which translates to “Morning Stroll” in english sounds exactly like a morning stroll, and I find that to be the most be the most beautiful song on the album. I’m debating on whether to give Autobahn 4 stars or 5 stars. Three of the tracks are very forgettable, but the other two alone beat most of the three star albums that have already been generated for me. I’m going to give this 4 stars though.

This ain’t no Abbey Road or Dark Side of the Moon, but this is Nilsson Schmilsson so I’m gonna put the lime in the coconut and give this album a five out of schmive!

I listened to this album 2 songs at a time over a few hours because morrissey can get boring after a while. But there were no fillers on here; nothing that i would consider to be subpar. Which is why I’m giving The Queen Is Dead 5 stars.

But nope, the next song is just as much of a masterpiece as the last. Back when i was a bartender in Dresden, my friend had told me about napalm death and i decided that i would play scum for all of my customers. While that was going on i saw two drunk young men walk into the accessible bathroom with a fully tattooed goth whore and they started to have a spitbogging contest inside while a guy in a wheelchair was patiently waiting to use the toilet. I felt bad for the guy.

I like seeing albums with average ratings under 3 because I know that they’re going to be very interesting to listen to. This one was no exception. I had never heard of Mudhoney before in my life but I’m glad that I have now. Superfuzz Bigmuff was really fun to listen to.

I would give this 5 stars if not for the fact that it’s WAY TOO FUCKING LONG! I had to listen to this one in 4 sessions of 7 songs each to not get bored. I know that there are a lot of great songs here, SO WHY DO I HAVE TO LISTEN TO 5 FILLER TRACKS JUST TO GET TO THEM???!!!

Im glad i listened to this. This is a top 10 album so far.

This is my second REM album, the other one I got was Green. In my opinion, the later REM albums (from green and on) seem to be wayyy more boring than previous albums like Murmur and Document. Even so, I still liked this album, and I’ll definitely be giving those other two albums 5 stars, but I’m afraid that Automatic For The People will remain at 4.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Talking Heads lately so as you can imagine, I was very happy when this album popped up. And oh man is this album great. Best songs on here are Memories Can’t Wait, Heaven, and Animals. I am definitely giving Fear Of Music 5 stars!

This is the boringest of the boring. Borings start at 3 stars. There are 4 tracks here, so we will deduct 0.5 for each song that I thought was boring. Track 4 was the only one i slightly enjoyed so that leaves us 3 - 1.5 = 1.5 Rounded up to 2 stars.

When I saw the name Meat Loaf, I thought he would be sone type of metal artist or something. Instead I got some nice rock that sounds perfect for its era. Personally, my favorite song is Paradise By The Dashboard Light. 5 stars.

Much like Slippery When Wet, which I got a few days ago, Appetite For Destruction is an album that many people seem to have really mixed feelings about. Three of the songs on this album, Welcome To The Jungle, Paradise City, and Sweet Child O’ Mine are overplayed on most radio stations. But just because they’re overplayed doesn’t make them worse. I regularly listen to songs off of this album and I am going to give it 5 stars.

What the fuck

Cool, funky, and groovy. If this was made by a respected 50s/60s jazz musician, it would be getting all the praise in the world, calling it a revolutionary piece of art. For me, I am excited that I had the chance to listen to this before I die. My favorite track in particular is Shellback. Overall, seems very futuristic and makes a good soundtrack to relax to. 5 stars.

Droops off a bit in the second half but overall a great album Was this album better than yesterday’s album, Vivid by Living Colour? Yes.

Suite III alone is worth 5 stars. Beyond that, I like the thing she has going on in the first half of suite II where every song transitions into the next one. She’s kind of like a more talented female Michael Jackson. Was The ArchAndroid better than yesterday’s album, Destroyer by KISS? Yes.

Not too long and still had some memorable songs. Just how an album should be. Was Van Halen better than yesterday’s album, The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe? Yes.

Wow, great album to celebrate the 4th of July and America’s 250th birthday. I love every song on this album. Unlike other country albums I’ve gotten so far, this one makes you feel like you’re actually in her hometown in Tennessee with her while she tells you stories from her life. And I’m saying this as someone who usually doesn’t enjoy country. I do have one complaint though, WHY AM I GETTING THIS NOW!? I’M GOING TO BE IN THE SMOKIES NEXT WEEK! WHY AM I NOT GETTING THIS THEN? I suppose it’s better than getting another Elvis Costello album today. Random Dolly Parton fact: In her memoire, she told a story of a time she went to a bar in West Hollywood that was having a Dolly Parton look alike contest. She entered the contest while over-exaggerating everything about her appearance, and lost to a man. Was Coat Of Many Colors better than yesterday’s album, Van Halen by Van Halen? Almost, but not quite.

Radiohead for extroverts Released the same day my cat was born (RIP Mitzy). Unlike Mitzy though, I give this album 3 stars.

Eminem, Katy Parry, Lady Gaga, and Lady Antebellum were nominated at the grammys for album of the year in 2011. This somehow beat out all of them. And by the way, the katy perry album should be on the list.

Kanye’s debut album. This is my least favorite of the three albums he has on the list and its still a 10/10 for me, which really shows how great Kanye is AS A MUSICIAN, and maybe someday he will be as great of a person. Two Words and Family Business are two very beautiful songs and The New Workout Plan may be one of the most fun-to-listen songs of all time.

Stark difference from Kanye West yesterday I’m 146 albums in and this is still only my second album from before 1966 (previous was Here’s Little Richard which I got for my 8th album, meaning that there’s a 9 year window where I have not gotten a single album from.) As for this one, I like jazz but I can only listen to it for so long before I get bored. So I give this one 3 stars.

It’s unique but it’s not very memorable either. To an extent I enjoyed it. A bit too long for my liking though. 2 stars.
