Listened to approximately 12 seconds of each of the first two tracks. Easily enough to tell me that I'm gonna be tortured by this shoegaze atonal bilge.
This whole album sounds like you are listening to it underwater. There are so many layers of muddy guitar, and the vocals are just out of focus so you can't really destinguish what they are saying at all, so you just end up hearing moaning mostly. I can hear how My Bloody Valentine influenced shoegazers of the late 90s-early 00s though such as Smashing Pumpkins or Hole, but this album was definately not my favorite. It all just ended up being noise and caused me to loose focus quite a bit. Favourite songs: Sometimes, When You Sleep Least favourite song: Touched 1/5
I fucking hate this album. The tinniest production, the atrocious vocals, the utterly average droning guitars. If you want to hear good shoegaze, listen to Nowhere or Souvlaki.
Supervage echo muziek, beetje emo, nauwelijks zang.
First song started awful, then maybe slight recognition kicked in that stockholm syndrome and it seemed like an ok song? Turned it off at the 4th track, I like my ears too much for this.

I've promised to listen to every album all the way through, and it's difficult with some. But I'd rather cut my bollocks off with a rusty razor than listen to this shit again.

This is awful. I want to give it less than 1. It has a lot in common with things I adore, however, there's enough wrong to make it terrible. The 'singing' is the worst thing of all, it's barely even a voice, just some whiney sound in the background. The production is all off, the music is a mess. The worst I've had to listen to so far.
No way
I've never listened to my bloody valentine simply because the name puts me off. Starting out I can't say I regret missing it out. Past the initial noise that begins the album we get to something approaching noisy music. Yeah this isn't for me. I struggled through the whole album and it didn't get any more pleasant, just more boring. Particularly annoying: I Only Said. Least annoying: Sometimes.

I know there are guitars under here somewhere, but this is essentially noise. The distortion completely overwhelms any music or vocals. Not sure what the point is or why this deserves a record contract.

I know this album comes with credentials as long as eternity, but to these ears this album is on the wrong side of the noise to music continuum. And you can’t accuse me of disliking the genre.

Garbage
Reminded me of Garbage, the band, though I can see if you took that statement literally. Felt like they were trying to annoy me with the droning guitar chords. I felt like I was in a kindergarten classroom and there was a constant underlying hum permeating my conscience. Thought I could hear a good song in there once and a while but couldn't find it long enough to know.. very unpleasant experience.
I couldn't even make it through the 1st 3 songs. It's just chaotic noise. It was horrible. I hated it. I will never listen to another My Bloody Valentine song again.
I'd been looking forward to this: I knew it would be on the list, and that it is highly regarded, so I was very disappointed to hate it and feel as if it is somehow my fault. Then Sam derided me for not liking it, so I took the pledge to play nothing else for the weekend to see if it would grow on me. By Sunday night I began to hear past the noise to the beauty beneath on a few traccks (still think it would be better without the noise though - a remix would definitely help). Still ddon't like it though.

Early 90’s was an awful time to appreciate music. Thank God I was either not alive, or a baby for most of this.

Another one of these. People tell me they're like the Smashing Pumpkins. They're no where close. It's just shoegaze nonsense with droning low vocals. That genre is the worst. I can't imagine these albums are high on the list to get replaced by the next great albums in the next update.

Album felt very much like a rock band performing in their garage. Felt very raw but lacked any interesting sounds.
This is an absolutely terrible album with no redeeming qualities that I can find.

One of THE worst albums I have listened to, so far the worst one. I don't know how people like this album. The production is dog trash, the lyrics are corny, I can't hear a thing in the vocals, which by the way, the vocals almost always ruins the songs, and I'll just leave it at that.
