I can see the music video in my mind
It's so...edgy. Not really a fan.

First album of the journey for me. This should be fun if they're all half as good as this.
This is the grandfather of all breakup albums
Rock-Jazz or Jazz-Rock? I have never heard some of these sounds before.
Early punk rock
Unique Voice. Great '80s sound.
Until I started this journey, I had thought surprisingly little about how influential some of these albums were at the time. I've heard Green Onions a thousand times but never knew it by name.
Full of hits, and even a couple more that probably could have been hits too.
Isn't really for me.
Reminds me a bit of Fluke. Less melodic than I usually like my electronica but still good.
Magnificent album. Bohemian Rhapsody is still a Top-25 song on Spotify after all this time.
Definitely some attention-grabbing lyrics in here.
Sinatra's voice is perfection.
More folky and even bluesy than their prior work. Not my favorite album of theirs but definitely some hidden gems.
I like Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 1 more than Pt. 2. Honestly feels a little unsettling in parts
The sounds of the '80s
Smooth and funky. "I Believe" doesn't get enough airtime.
No wonder he was so controversial back in the 1950s.
Fine but I don't get all the fuss about Radiohead. Seems a bit overrated.
Legend. So smooth.
I don't hear a lot that's even reminiscent of this Flower Power sound much anymore.
Pretty solid debut album
Definitely makes you want to dance
Classic British Invasion sound. Apparently they were banned from touring in the USA? Did not know this.
Couple good songs but not loving this one. Sounds a bit too much like a circus.
Such a mournful voice
Haunting voice.
Actually a lot of variety in this album. Some noisy mid-90s hard rock, but a ton of different moods and sounds.
Early hip-hop. Really wish I had listened to this genre more when I was younger. I guess that's why I'm doing this project though.
Isn't quite my favorite Elton John album, but really good.
Doesn't get more classic than this.
Some vaguely Rolling Stones sounds
Funky. I like it.
Never been a huge fan of this sound. Maybe 2.5 stars, it's OK.
Unmistakable voice
You don't really think of this style being out there in 1969. Easy to see how it evolved into The Ramones.
Pleasant to listen to.
This is actually pretty good. I had listened to some earlier Green Day and didn't particularly like them, but I'm liking this.
Hated some of these songs. Found a couple that I liked but I don't think I'd listen to this album again.
This genre is so good. Why isn't it played more?
Atlantic City is one of my all-time favorite songs of his. Great album. Of his acoustic works I might rank The Ghost of Tom Joad a little higher, but I liked this one a lot. Definitely would listen to again.
Poetic. Reminds me some of Tom Waits
One-hit wonder
Really like some of the samples in here
Nice late-60s rock
Glad this finally popped up on Spotify. Favorite was C'est La Nuit
I didn't listen to the re-released tracks, just the original (disc 2). Classic reggae, and really good message if you listen closely.
I really did not like this.
Not too wild about this one either
Groovy. Makes you think about the magnificent work we've lost from so many artists who died too young.
Very smooth and relaxing
Couple great classics on this one.
Upbeat. I'd listen again.
Fantastic album. Stands the test of time, no question.
So-so. I liked it better than The Divine Comedy's solo albums but still not my cup of tea
Includes their all-time greatest hit, but lots of other greats too. I especially liked "Walking in Your Footsteps" and "Synchronicity II"
Really solid debut album
One of my favorites of his. And one of the few albums in this list that I already owned.
Somewhat jazzy. I like it and it's not necessarily what I expected when compared to their biggest hit.
It's so...edgy. Not really a fan.
Groovy. The couple of covers are good but just different enough where you don't immediately recognize them.
yeah four minutes of that is plenty.
Did not know Rod Stewart was once part of a band. Good sound.
Great debut album
Great '90s sound. A lot of reviews are calling this "dated" and that may be, but in another sense it was ahead of its time. Maybe "timeless" is a better word?
I quite enjoyed this one. "Slow Like Honey" is excellent
Favorite track was Where the Wild Roses Grow
This is really good. Definitely would give this album another listen. Or two. "Hand To Mouth" was a favorite.
Favorites were "I'm a man you don't meet every day" and "Sallie MacLennane". Some of these sound like an influence for Bruce Springsteen's "American Land"
Wasn't wild about this. I much prefer their later work.
Haunting. Appropriately dark for these tragic and uncertain times.
Didn't care for this one. Doesn't really stand the test of time.
I don't usually love this genre, but this has a pretty distinctive sound and I found myself surprised at how much l liked it.
Good debut album. Some songs with huge staying power right off the bat.
Didn't really grab me. Probably wouldn't listen to again.
This is gold. Not a bad one in the bunch. I listened through twice.
It's provocative, no doubt about that.
Reminds me of Peter Gabriel.
I wouldn't say it has much depth, but it is fun.
U2 was already well-established by the time I really started discovering music. I knew them from various radio hits, but this was the first full album of theirs that really grabbed my attention. This is mid-late high school for me and I'm sure I'll always enjoy this one, at least the first half.
I wonder what we'd think of Van Morrison if we didn't have Brown Eyed Girl. Personally I like his 1979-1991 period the best, but this is a great, great early album.
I could listen to this all day.
Even the non-radio hits are pretty good. Solid album and I was pleasantly surprised.
I Really liked "Sum of Us"
Just can't get into ska
We have fixed nothing since 1988.
Really smooth. I'd definitely listen to this one again.
Masterful, and so late in life. "Hurt" is haunting.
Disc 2 was actually pretty enjoyable in places, but two whole hours of this was a bit of a slog.
Short and sweet
Just not getting into this early Genesis stuff, isn't for me.
These kind of all sound the same. But they are good.
Another reason to switch to Tidal is that you can hear Neil Young.
Mellow. I liked this a lot, especially "August Day Song"
Liked the title track a lot.
Very bluesy.
I.G.Y. doesn't get enough love.
Favorite track was "First We Take Manhattan"
Really enjoying their cover of "Sweet Thing"
Despite what critics said, neither is it a career-ending failure nor the greatest album of all time. Somewhere in the middle.
"Desire Lines" was my favorite song.
Favorites were "Triangle Walks" and "Keep the Streets Empty For Me". Solid album overall.
Paradise is such a great song.
Very good album, still a great listen. Personally I'd rank X&Y a little higher.
Usually isn't my favorite genre but I really liked this. Sounds something like an evolution of the 1970s R&B sound.
Not a bad one in the bunch. Great album. Will always remember the season 2 finale of West Wing when I hear the title track.
The little ode to Johnny B Goode on "Thanks for the Pepperoni" was a nice surprise.
This one was kind of a slog.
Nothing new under the sun.
But it is neat to see a minimum of five copies in every single record store.
Listened through twice. Very nice.
Vaguely has an early CSNY sound. Listened through twice.
Haunting. Echoes of Leonard Cohen.
The usual hits were good, also liked "Wild In the Streets"
Had no idea he wrote some of these.
Of course some good classics on this one. Also liked "Willie and the Hand Jive"
Honestly a pretty fun album. Listened through twice.
"This City Never Sleeps" is great. How have I never heard that song before?
Wasn't expecting the vaguely country sound of a few of these. Good album.
This is surprisingly cool. Although maybe that's just because I finally switched to Tidal. If any listeners are still on Spotify, might be worth making the switch to any other service that has lossless. Favorite tracks were "Visions of You", "Bomba", "Erzulie"
Favorite track was "Step it Up"
This is tedious. At least is sure started off that way. Didn't get much better throughout.
This is really energetic. I like it!
Is it over yet? Good lord this is bad.
This is so smooth. In addition to the more well-known favorites, "Cherry Pie" was great.
One of my favorite albums of all time.
The pinnacle of smoothness.
nah
nah again does this not give you a headache. it gives me a headache.
.
Favorite track was "Damaged".
Favorite songs were "Disorder" and "I Remember Nothing"
"Little Red Corvette" is of course a classic. Also liked "International Lover"
"Pedestal" and "Glory Box" were my favorites
Title track was my favorite.
Didn't necessarily love any one track but overall a solid effort.
Favorite songs were "One of These Days" and "Fly By Night"
Favorite track was "Rodney Yates"
Favorites were "Guiding Star" and "Is This Music?"
Absolute masterpiece
Favorites were "Dance Little Sister" and "Sign Your Name". Honorable mention to "As Yet Untitled"
Favorites were Malibu and Petals
Not listening to this one again. Regardless of the content, which already isn't my cup of tea, technically it's just a poor recording. yay it's over
I was unfamiliar with this one. Glad I discovered it. Great '90s electronica sound.
Classics, all of them.
Favorite was Banstyle / Sappys Curry
Favorite was "Little Babies".
Whatever movie this hypothetically goes with, I don't really want to see it.
Favorites were "Don't let the stars get in your eyes" and "Busy Being Blue"
Favorite track was "Break You Off"
Favorites were "Road to Somewhere" and "Cologne Cerrone Houdini"
Favorite was "Laughing"
Amazing debut album.
Favorite was "King's Cross"
My dad loved this album. RIP, Dad.
I can see the music video in my mind
Favorites were "Gomni" and "Ai Du"
Would not listen again.
Favorite was "Green Man"
Favorites were "Night Train" and "Music"
Favorites were "Lights On" and "Kicks"
Honestly his voice sounds a little bit like Lenny Kravitz.
Favorites are "Makes Me Wanna Pray" and "Here to Stay"
Favorite was "Father and Son"
This was tedious.
Favorite was "On The Beach"
I did enjoy hearing the 3 big hits again. Also enjoyed "Brown Eyes"
Always enjoy a good Jazz album.
Hidden gem
Favorite was "Get On Top"
A masterpiece.
Favorites were "Coat of Many Colors" (from Dolly) and "Queen of the Silver Dollar"
Plenty of gems but also a bit of experimental filler. Perhaps would have not been a great loss if it were a single album.
Favorite was "B.I.B.L.E"
Not a ton of variety here but it was an enjoyable album.
Favorite was "Wildflowers"
Favorites were "oh baby" and "black screen"
Dylan went electric
A fun listen. Favorite was probably "Carnival of the Night"
It's highly unusual, but I enjoyed it more than I expected. Her voice reminds me a little of Emiliana Torrini, maybe with a hint of Deb Talan. Favorites were "Sawdust and Diamonds" and "Cosmia"
Favorites were "Broken Heart" and "Cool Waves"
Maybe 2.5. Probably wouldn't listen again.
Favorites were "Without You", "Coconut", "Jump Into the Fire"
Favorite was "Rainbow"
Favorites were Diggin' On You and Take Our Time
I didn't like this as much as I remember liking it when it first came out. Still a few greats, like the title track, "My City of Ruins", and "Worlds Apart". "Paradise" would fit well on his earlier album "The Ghost of Tom Joad" Solid album but hasn't held up quite as well as I thought it would.
Shame what happened to her. One of those artists who will only be fully appreciated posthumously. Favorites were "I Am Stretched on Your Grave", "The Emperor's New Clothes", and "Nothing Compares 2 U"
Favorites were "Blue Rondo a la Turk" and "Take Five"
nope
Favorite was "Give It Up"
This was awesome. Listened through twice. Favorites were: Blue Moon Revisited, I Don't Get It, Sweet Jane, Walking After Midnight
I did like "I'm Sorry I Love You" but was that really worth it for 68 others?
Favorite was "Jo's Lament"
Quite liked this rendition of "Mr. Tambourine Man"
Favorites were Love in an Elevator and Janie's Got a Gun.
Hit after Hit
Favorites were "Stand" and "Orange Crush"
Always liked this album. Favorites were Sweet Love, Caught Up In the Rapture, Mystery, No One In the World, Same Ole Love My dad had "No One In the World" on a mixtape of his favorites, so my appreciation of this one goes back to an early age.
Didn't love the sound overall but "F***ing in Rhythm and Sorrow" was solid.
I've heard worse on this list, maybe.
Favorites were "Voodoo People" and "Speedway"
Favorites were Blue Orchid, Little Ghost, I'm Lonely
Not a bad one in the bunch. Excellent album.
Student Demonstration Time goes pretty hard for a Beach Boys song.
Listened through twice. Favorites were "Sunday Bloody Sunday", "New Year's Day", "Drowning Man", and "40"
Favorite was "LMK" Rating a 3 but really probably more like 3.5.
Favorite was "Porch"
Favorite was D.A.N.C.E.
Favorites were "Being Boring", "This Must Be The Place I Waited Years to Leave" and "My October Symphony". Nice album.
Favorites were "Too High", "Higher Ground", "He's Misstra Know-It-All"
Lot of greats here but don't overlook "You Don't Have To Cry"
Unique-sounding fusion of electronic and traditional.
Some big hits, yes, but honestly seems a bit overrated.
Favorite was "I've Got My Mojo Working (pt 1.)".
Technically it's a DNF but this one set the record for how quickly I reached that point.
Some very thought provoking lyrics here. Favorites were "There Is Power in A Union" and "Help Save the Youth of America"
Hard to think there was once a time when Autotune was groundbreaking. Not Madonna's best work, but I've always like "What It Feels Like For A Girl".
