Zero Pleeaaase can I give this a big fat 0? They should feel ashamed!
Everything about this album from the title to the name of the band to the album art to every single track title sounds like the workings of an angsty teenager who thinks everyone is afraid of him but really everyone is just embarrassed for him.
I understand its influential but it's all a bit silly. Spinal Tap in real life. All the Satanism stuff is a bit daft but Teachers Pet has lyrics that defy reading. It's a dumb and difficult album to finish as its so tiresome. Double finger horns! Shite. 1
Puf, encima todas parecen iguales.
corny.
Metal 🤷
Did not finish as am not a thrash fan sorry I am unchic.
satan soundscapes and guitar solos
No….just no
Ugh. Disliked every minute of it.
Forgettable. Feels like it's trying too hard to be edgy
Utter pish from start to finish, couldn't bear it.
This was unintentionally hilarious, it's so Spinal Tap. I'm guessing this was the first in the genre? I actually like more modern black metal but this hasn't aged well. I especially found it funny that all the solos were standard rock and roll, clearly no one had taught them the evil sounding scales all metal bands use now
Lay down your soul to the gods rock and roll!
Metal nonsense!
Thrash Metal. No thanks
Pioneers, sure. But this really sounded like some high school kids flailing away. Yikes. Didn't even think of adding.
Hilariously shit
Занятный бредок
I don’t mind some metal but this album really isn’t for me.
Maybe the shittiest metal album I have heard in a long time.
One for the historically important rather than good pile. I get why it's an album that matters, but in and of itself it's a pretty poorly performed metal album with very little to recommend it, and it lays the satanic imagery on so thickly that to modern ears it sounds comedic.
I hate this album
Oh Dear! Really not one for me this. I am sure some will find it worthy but not for me.
Not my thing at all
lyssnade en låt men det var såklart inte min kopp te
To use their own song titles to cover this: To Hell and Back (except I didn't come back), (I'd rather be) Buried Alive, Leave Me in Hell (or at least somewhere this isn't playing), (This is a) Nightmare.
This is dumb
Not a big fan but definitely can see it's impact at the time
Didn't even try to listen
Nope
Sorta just sounds like every other metal album, or at the very least a generic and basic one. Didn't really capture my attention at any point. It may be influential to future metal albums, but why not show those that innovated on the genre further instead?
1/5 yet another metal album that failed me
If you're going to write an hour's worth of thrift store Metallica songs about hell, you should at least make them sound different from one another.
In the movies you see the Americans torturing their POWs by blasting death metal at them while they’re chained up in the dark. Pretty sure this would be effective as a torture device as it makes me want to slit my wrists.
I'm not the biggest metal fan but can appreciate some of it. This was just shit from start to finish though
Not the worst metal album I have heard, quite surprised I could understand the vocalist but wish I couldn't quite childish and crap
Absolutely awful, unlistenable, best thing about this album is the artwork, and that's saying something
Not my thing.
I guess this music must have a place for somebody. Not for me.
Some of the industrial music on this list is worse but not by much.
If the intention of the album was to make one wish to be buried alive, left in hell, or sacrificed, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
The closing line of Black Metal (Radio 1 Session) is “Welcome to hell!” An apt line to describe listening to this album, which I did twice. This is the type of album a bunch of goth kids who turned into goth adults make, yet they didn’t realize the goth stage was supposed to end. I understand clearly that they are obsessed with death. I did find myself bobbing to the guitar riff on Don’t Burn the Witch. I thought Buried Alive was kind of funny although I don’t think it was meant to be. In the end, I just don’t have enough teen angst to enjoy much about this album.
When it comes to death metal as a genre, I'm about as qualified to judge it as I am to judge a German creative writing competition. Yet here I am, listening to this record called Black Metal, and I'll just say that I don't speak German. So maybe it can be evaluated by historical significance or influence? If so, the shitty production and lyrics about mutant babies and high-fiving demons aren't doing it any favors. It's the musical equivalent of a plotless B-movie gore-fest. I guess sometimes you just want to see some blood, but do you really need to sit through so much of it? This is a long-winded way of saying I didn't like it, it sounded like the work of a bad high-school band who don't have any life experiences to write about.
Most start with good riff, but then it's lost in muddy production and thrashing. Not my taste.
Is that supposed to be the devil on the front? Oh do fuck off. And buy some fucking deodorant whilst your at it. 1/5
Dog shit.
I don't enjoy metal at all, so I was glad when this one was over. I can see how it is a good example of the genre, though.
Glad to have heard it, doubt I'll listen again.
horrível. soa como adolescente querendo ser legal
I’m not the target demographic to be fair
Nope. I get the significance, and I understand how this album was important for a whole genre of music. It's just not going to work for me. I suffered through this album.
I tried. Really not my thing.
1982. Key Songs: Don't Burn The Witch
