There's a lot of foreplay, some pleasurable some not, before Layla opens her legs for the good stuff. Oh, and Clapton is a cunt.
Poundland Rolling Stones
Not a bad album, easy listening
Didn't hate this as much as other 'hair rock' albums.

Some classic tracks, but others have dated a bit
Freestyle jazz not my cup of tea
Loads of classic tracks
Awful 80's synth's
One amazing song, the rest average
Creative, and different album. Enjoyed it
Odd good track, but most are too short to get in to. Extreme lo-fi production is off putting
Excellent,dreamy, original.
3.5 out of 5. Chilled tunes
Far too screaming
Awful noise
Classic dad rock, can't fault it.
Some classic tracks, but also some 80's synth dross
3.5 / 5
Trippy San-Fran freak out
It might be a great Jazz record. But's it Jazz
A difficult listen at times.
Great pop
Not my usual taste, but quite enjoyed it. 3.5 / 5
A brilliant voice, but (it was recorded in 1956) dated
It might be the great, but it's jazz
Not an easy listen
Heavy metal ain't my bag
Just brilliant
An amazing voice, but Folk is not my thing
Run to the hills is a tune, surprisingly enjoyable listen
Sweet Love is a good song, rest of the tracks are ok, but slightly forgettable
Some classic tracks. 4.5 / 5
One of my favourite bands. A great album
4.5/5 - almost great, some tracks a little cold
Nearly 5 stars. 4.5/5. A brilliant album
Some interesting, excellent tracks. A couple of tracks unlistenable
Some classic tracks, but moody instrumental tracks interesting but not great

A stonecold classic. Don't know why I had not listened to this album for so long.
Symphony didn't work for me. Dull
Ace of Spades is clearly an awesome song, not so keen on the rest
Average beach vibes
Mostly unlistenable. Terrible
Awful noise
Dated
Don't get it, not an enjoyable listen
Just brilliant. One of the best albums ever.
Not a bad album, easy listening

Just not my thing
Brilliant
Left me cold
Not awful
Nice enough album, good in the background
Enjoyed it, raw & grungy
A good listen
Nearly gave this 5 stars for sentimental reasons, spent many a hazy afternoon listening to this in the 90's. Really enjoyed playing it again.
Got be 5 stars
really laid back, cool record. One to listen to again
Funky
Can hear the influence on the Stone Roses, OK album
Ok punk record
80's, but in a good way
Played this album a lot in the 90's, tempted to give it 5 stars - but to these middle aged ears some of the tracks are just to repetitive.
A jazz album that I actually enjoyed. Take Five the best track
Got a soft spot for The Kinks, and this is one of thier best albums.
Thrash Metal. No thanks
unable to locate
Meh
Pub rock at best
Alone Again Or is a classic tune, the rest of the album is just ok
A fun listen
Some cool songs
A bit miserable in parts
Depressing
Chilled out background noise
not for me, something my Gran would like
It's ok, not sure it should be on this list though
Mostly depressing
Some classic tracks, overall not a 5 star one though
Loved this album in the 90's, still love it now. Nearly every track a classic. Supernova was my go to Jukebox pick, quality tune and long
Lyrics are brilliant, but his voice (and the harmonica) does get a bit annoying
Sub-par Stone Roses. All a bit same-y and forgettable
Love the Kinks, but this isn't a 5 star album
Laid back African vibes
Enjoyed this one, different in a good cool edgy way. The Bjork vocals are great
Some classic tracks, brilliant all round album
Suzanne and So Long Marianne are good songs, but the rest are to samey and to depressing
This generator is forcing me to listen to albums I would not ordinarily listen to. I won't be rushing back to this one.
good background music
God how I hate Bon Jovi, and so called Hair Rock. Awful
A cool, chilled, great background album
Preferred this over Songs Of Leonard Cohen. Not exactly uplifting though
Meh
Preacher man is a top tune. Some good stuff
Not my bag, but she obvisouly has talent
Fun, 80's dance
Meh
Too country for me
Album starts brilliantly, then falls off
short, concise punk record. Not bad at all
Early garage, lo-fi style. The Beatles did the covers much better though. Have love will travel is a top tune.
An enjoyable listen, an album I would listen to again.
For a swing album from 1959 it was ok, nothing more than background music though
trip hop style lounge muzak, but in a good way. Good background music. Liked it
Another enjoyable album
First couple of songs (only 4 very long tunes) are brilliant, then it gets talky and boring
Who knew, later Bob Dylan's voice is less irrtating than early Bob Dylan
Not my usual type of listen, but quite enjoyed it
9/10. First time I've listend to the entire album and it is mostly a joy
not band at all
Unremarkable
Not more hair rock. Awful
Jazz not my thing
Couldn't listen to it all. Nu-metal, or whatever this is, is not for me
Nice enough, but unoffensive Taylor Swift type country doesn't do it for me
Some brilliant tracks - It's Tricky, Walk this Way, You Be Illin'. A fun listen
Most music is influenced by what went before, and the influence on Oasis is well documentated and obvious. A good album in it's own right though
It was ok, as noted in other reviews largely incomprehensible lyrics
Not quite 10/10.
A brilliant hip hop album, nearly 5/5. The beats a little repetitive though. 9/10
Too many solo's. Cock rock
It's ok, not exactly sophisticated American rock
Not for me, dated
Superstition one of the best songs ever. You are the sunshine of my life, pretty good. The rest of the album is dross
Into my arms is lovely, great song
Always been more of an Oasis man. This album has not changed that
Black Sabbath cover, War Pigs, best thing about this record
not for me
Brilliant, chilled out vibes. Like a best of album
Travelling Australia in 2006 it felt like Manu Chao and Jack Johnson were being played in every hostel & backpacking bar. For that reason got a lot of sentimental love for this album, which to be fair is a pretty fun, easy listen
two halves to this album, chilled beats vibe and more guitar second half. Enjoyed both
Good background music this, perfect to listen to whilst working away.
And It Stone Me & Moondance are great tracks, but the rest are nothing special. Plus, like Clapton, he turns out that he's massive prick.
not for me
Some brilliant tracks, not quite 10/10 for me though.
Funky afro-beat
Not soppy ambient muzak, but interesting background music
Mostly forgettable soft jazz
What a treat. Excellent
Never listened to a Smashing Pumpkins album in full before, actually enjoyed it. Some great tracks. 9/10
80's synths date it, but some well crafted songs
Latin jazz, not bad but not one to listen to again
Since I Left You and Frontier Pyschaitrist are brilliant tracks, the rest of the album pretty damn good
Not for me
Old fashioned, but pretty funky.
meh
not for me
Very 80's, but not awful.
Most of their best songs on this album, brilliant
Not alot to say about this one, one good track the rest meh

Groundbreaking back then, felt very dated now
Not for me
Can't tell what is being sung, but an interesting, hazy, shoegaze type sound
Sweet Dreams is a top tune, rest of the album not so great
Brilliant hip hop album
Not bad dad rock
Lust for Life & The Passenger are brilliant, top tunes. Rest of the album can't match them
I enjoyed this more when I was 16. Misogynistic, and bull shit male bravado prevails. No thanks.
A lot of songs, the brilliant Teenage Kicks eclipsing them all
Not a lot going on here for me. Well produced.
8 mile high is a brilliant track, some of the others sounded like sub-optimal Beatles
Suspicious Minds is my favourite Elvis song, and In the Ghetto is decent, but the rest are mostly songs my nan liked
Early proto punk. Harsh
Ok-ish background music
Too country for my tastes
A varied and interesting album, a mostly enjoyable listen. The 'lime in the coconut' song is bonkers but ace
Free Bird is a good tune, the rest not so great
Born to Run the stand out song, not that fussed on the rest
Got to be 5 stars
American folk/country is not for me. Dull
Excessive Bongo
Nice enough album. Marlene on the wall is the stand out track.
Prefer 90's hip-hop
Don't get it, morose. Dull.
More like a soundtrack, but fun
Depressing
Nice enough, don't know why it's on this list though. Forgettable
yet more Hair Rock. No thanks
Amazing album, brilliant opening tracks, just not quite a 5 starts
Meh
Grungy sameness, not my thing
Nearly 5 stars. All along the Watchtower is amazing.
Reminds me of Bruce Sprinsteen for some reason. It's good, not a fan of the slower tracks mind
Doesn't get much better than this
It might need more listens, but that isn't going to happen
No for me, Country Taylor Swift is no fun
Perfection. What more can be said about classic era Bowie. Sublime
Would listen again
not a very easy listen
Didn't hate it, which I thought I would.
Neither here nor there
Got a soft spot for the Kinks. Lovely album, not quite a 5 stars but right up my street.
Paper planes is a brilliant tune
Really enjoyed this album. One to listen to again.
Never heard of this band before now, not bad
Has to be 5 stars. A classic
Nice enough, some nice background tunes. Nice
Pyscho killer an amazing tune, the rest not so much
Dated.
Brill
Miserable
Not quite 5 starts, some weak/boring songs.
Didn't hate it as much as I though I would
Good background music, but it's a bit wishy washy
Early Beatles album, not as yet great
Started really well, last half not as good.
Sultans of Swing is a classic, enjoyed most of the other songs
Started well, but the guitar solo's plus saxophone get boring fast
A double album, enjoyed parts of it
I like a lot of DJ Shdaow's work, and really enjoyed this album. Groundbreaking
Mostly nothingness
Didn't hate this as much as other 'hair rock' albums.
Random Ska and Rock mix
Very short, but likeable
Didn't hate it as much as other American Hair Rock.
Loved it
Close to being 5 stars
Far out man
36 minutes long. Short, and great
Don't get it
Oliver's Army is a top top tune. Enjoyed the album
Some great songs, but the slower ones bore me a little
Black Magic Woman is brilliant
To Be Young and My Winding Wheel are brilliant tracks which I love to listen to, but the rest of the album doesn't quite live up to them
Still don't get it. Rambling nonsense. Couldn't listen to all of it
Not more Sitar. Not for me
Destined for greatness, but this album is a little rough and ready
Can't fully get behind the rock opera concept
Title track is a gem
A classic
Not for me this
4.5/5
Did nothing to change my mind that most 80's music is shite
Good, but didn't set my world on fire
9/10. His best album
Excellent post punk album. A lot to like
Bloody love this album. Best opening line of any album
The title track is a stand out classic, enjoyed the rest of the album
Close to 5 stars. 9.5/10
Completely new to me, an unexpected treat. Fun, funky afro-jazz, with huge history
A brilliant Bowie insprired album
Starts well, then falls off
Some great tracks, but others felt dated
Not for me
Jazz-fusion is a no
Hairspray rock, jazz-fusion, country music. 3 albums I do not want to hear in a run. Just no.
Not my bag
My god it's random, but not in a good way.
Not all 80's music, just the majority. This has some decent tracks, but it's not a classic
Folk ain't for me
BAD NOISE
Got a lot of sentimental love for this album, but not quite 5 stars
Top notch craftmanship
Couple of top tunes, but some filler
Couldn't finish it. 16 tracks was approx 14 tracks too long
Lot of love for 90's rap, and Jurassic 5. 4.5/5
Well produced, brilliant flow and feel to the rapping, but as it's mostly in French it's hard to get fully onboard
It might be really good country music, but it's still country music.
Not for me
Most tracks sound similar. Not for me
Brilliant, but knocked a star off for the instrumentals which I don't get
Smooth
Enjoyed this more than I thought I would, but still only a 3
Short, and sweet
Enjoyed it, but the language difference knocks a star off
Sentimental rating - probably. Not as good as Morning Glory, but still a 5/5
Never heard of this band, but it was good without one song really standing out.
Jazz isn't my favourite, but early Miles Davis albums are an exception
Might have been groundbreaking at the time, but not all that amazing now
Nope, no thank you, I'll pass, please move along
Couple of brilliant tracks
No idea what is being sung, but it's ok
Dated country, don't see this as must listen
Didn't know any of the tracks on this album, and whilst mostly decent there is a reason for that
Nice background music
Never imagined I'd like an album by a band called Megadeath, to the point where I nearly gave it 5 stars. Rock on dude. 4.8/5
Good background music
Not feeling this one, a bit shouty
Some interesting tracks, but too experimental
Decent. Monkey Gone to Heaven is a tune
Hurt & Personal Jesus are brilliant, rest only so so
Meh
White light is ok, the rest are just rambly bollocks.
Couldn't finish it
Short, and just ok.
Not earth shattering, but just alright.
Definitely interesting & different. Like it
The Rain is a great track, although well produced mostly left me a bit cold
Love The Jam, brilliant album.
Alot of fun, knocked a star off for the long drum solo's
starts well with Marz, gets a bit boring thereafter
60's soul sounding tunes, in a really good way. Like this a lot
Didn't hate this even though it's heavy. Not bad
Some classic tracks. A nice easy smooth listen
Love it
Oddly enjoyable
Preferred the upbeats tunes, but overall not bad
It's been a longtime, and god damn it, it wasn't that bad
Terminator X, Bring the Noise etc. are classictracks, but the album is overlong and repetitive (that scratching noise is used a lot)
Liked it. Will probably never listen to it agian mind
Brilliant. Proper rock music
Over produced, to slick. Not for me
The beginnings of a great band
It might be a trailblazing album, but it does feel dated now
Running up the Hill, Hounds of Love, and Cloudbusting are top top tunes. The album deserves 5 stars for them alone
Couldn't finish it. Never really enjoyed his voice, but this album seems worse than the others. Tracks too long
Heard individual tracks before, but never listened to the full album - which at 42 years of age is a travesty because this album is the bollocks.
As a fellow Valiant and Stokie I should like him, but his music's not for me. A couple of well written sings
Huge Paul Weller fan, whilst generally hating most 80's music. This wasn't too bad though
Meh
Not for me
I can see for miles is a great tune, but I didn't really get the rest of the album. Felt dated
No redeeming features
Fun glam rock.
You've got to love Crowded House.
Sandman is a top tune, but the album is repetitive
Decent
Above avergae rock. Possibly need more listens to fully appreciate it
Waterfalls and Creep are great tracks, the rest are so-so
Nearly 5 stars. The production is amazing, just a little it safe
The album with Fairytale in New York on, the best Xmas song ever. Enjoyed the ablum at first, but I wasn't drunk so it got old quick. Too long
Couldn't finish it. Childish, sexist and homophobic. He's just a little angry prick
Nice enough
Reading the other reviews it sounds like you needed to see the 'Dead live whilst on Acid, because their studio albums are pretty shit. I'd agree
A masterpiece
Good for a live album, but as one long jam session lacked direction
Clearly MM half inched anythig that was good on the album, and it started really well but faded out. Of it's time, but intersting
Like the Cure it's just a bit miserable, and therefore not much fun to listen to
All I Wanna Do is a great track, half decent album but not something I'll listen to again
Loved it, great rock and roll
This was groundbreaking at the time, but feels very dated now
A great ablum, but not quite a classic like most of their others
Enjoyed it
the beginnings of a great band, but not a great album
Meh
Didn't enjoy this Megadeth album as much as I did the other one
C&W / Bluegrass ain't for me.
Consecutive C&W albums! NO, NO, NO
Classic Hip Hop, but overly long
Not sure I get it.
Couple of top tunes, but too long
Not for me, maybe my granny
Doesn't hit the high's of his classic 70's albums
Meh
Not for me
Hasn't got any of their big hit singles on, but a quality album nontheless
Great voice, but it's dated. Strong early Disney films vibes
Nice enough, but christ I couldn't listen to 3.25 hours of this
Nearly 5 stars. Unfinshed symphony is a classic
Enjoyable prog rock. One track was 18 minutes, but soemhow not overblown
Was ok, not something I would listen to again
Ok background music, bit slow though
Nice enough background piano music, good background noise
For dumb rednecks only. Terrible
At times not an easy listen, but worthwhile. Not quite up to classic early Bowie standards, but a really good album nonetheless
Got to be 5 stars, some of the best rock tunes of all time
gritty, industrial, unpleasant in parts, but not wholly awful. Johnny Cash did 'Hurt' better though
Loved this album in the 90's, but it's only just striking me what a Stevie Wonder rip off it is. Still fun to listen to though
Not an easy listen in parts
Short sharp shock of punk. Not too bad
Sub par Nirvana
Green Onions is a great track, instrumentals getting boring quick though
I'm not young or angry enough to enjoy this
Meh
Meh
Not a huge Pet Shop Boys fan, but this album was alright.
Enjoyable
15 minutes of hardcore punk that I will never listen to again
A good album, but not great.
Got a soft spot for early nineties hip-hop, so thought I would like this more than I did.
First few tracks are brilliant, but tails off
Lovely voice, but dated covers
Meh
close to the Middle of the Road, and he's an insufferable prick
Golden Years is one of my favourite Bowie songs. A short, but classic album
Overly long, but a couple of great tracks
Some great songs, just not a huge fan of live albums
Started off brilliantly, but second half had some unnecessary instrumentals
The Killing Moon is great track, the rest of the album was largely forgettable
I thought I liked early Van Morrison, before him and his music turned into a bloated wankfest, but this must be too early
Second half of the album is much better than the first, including the mighty 'Smoke on the Water'
Interesting background music
All the Kings Men is a good tune, but this isn't an album you need to hear before you die.
The best I can say is not awful
Really enjoyed parts of it. Bottle is a classic
Really fun album, enjoyed it
Dated
Don't really get it
Couldn't finish it.
Ok punk
Decent punk
Nearly 5 stars. A fun, enjoyable listen
A fun, sometimes laidback, listen
Feels wrong to only give 4 stars given the number of classics on the ablum, but it double albums rarley work.
The beginnings of a great band, but not a great album
Devil's Haircut is brilliant, and there are some other great tracks on here
No, not for me, my deceased Gran might find it too old fashioned
Not for me
It might be really good salsa, but it's still salsa
Double albums don't really work, and this true here
He might not have the best voice, but the songs are well crafted and produced.
Some top rave type tunes, but also some dross
Enjoyably weird
80's Huey Lewis style soft rock.
Not really my thing, well produced and an amazing voice though
Noise! Not a nice noise though
Some of the tracks were ok, but not my thing
Was hoping for more, didn't really do it for me
Not for me
Got old quick. 69 tracks is 60 too many
Cinnamon Girl is a classic tune. Most of the country/folk songs I could do without though
Meh
Started ok, but soon turned in turgid mess
It might be great country music, but I can't listen to it
Not very interesting background music
Couldn't finish it. Awful
I just don't like C&W
Some classic tracks on here. A lovely short album
fun
Ladies is a top tune, but mostly a repetitive album
Nearly gave it a 4, but the best tracks are that good it's easy to overlook the lesser ones
Meh
Decent
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. A hard listen
The best Joni M album so far
Pop Punk - not as bad as I expected. It's not awful
Mostly average. Cover of Heard it Through the Grapevine the only highlight
Hard rock is just not for me.
The more I listen to Waits the more I don't want to. Make it stop
C&W is a hard no.
Three 1's on the bounce. Hardcore punk is also not my thing
A soundtrack to a movie that doesn't exsist is a wierd premise, and it's not really much of anything
Could not be more 80's, not something I normally listen to
A tad overblown
Not a huge fan of Live albums, and this didn't really change my mind although it was decent
Not my usual type of music, but not awful
Went downhill fast after Karma. Couldn't finish it
Loved it, nearly 5 stars
Meh
It's ok, it's just not enough to get excited about
I fully expected to detest this. Country and 80's combined. But it's so bland to be nothing.
21st Century Schizoid Man is great track, not so keen on the free style jazz
Not bad, not great
I agree with Noel Gallagher on this
Not for me
half of track one is all I managed. no thanks
not for me
Crooner
It was ok, not bad not great
A musical fun sponge. Couldn't finish it
Suprisingly listenable
C&W is not for me
Nearly a 4, some good tracks on here. 7/10
Decent. Kick / Push is a tune
He sounds like a terrible person, but this short album has a lot of charm
Slow C&W is a hard no. Bore off
Slightly shambolic. Maybe I'm Amazed by far the best track
Not for me this.
Whine on some more why don't, but not to these ears.
Nice, easy, smooth, jazz for the background
I like this sort of raw, bluesy, early rock. Good stuff
Meh
Already feels a little dated. Dynamite Te Hee is a top tune though
Christ not more C&W, please make it stop.
An enjoyable listen, a lot to like
Birdland was interesting, the rest nothing better than background music
Didn't make it past the first song, a slow drowning in the freezing Black Sea would have been more fun. Terrible Beatles rip off
Title song is great, really feels like being in a swamp in New Orleans but at times a bit mad
Classic. First two tracks are belters, worth 5 stars alone
Fun and frenetic. Hardly a duff tune, a top Britpop album
It's not much of anything really
It's was ok, some interesting and unique tracks
It's good pop music, but not my thing
Race for the Prize is a great opening track, the rest felt inconsequential
A classic
Slick, well produced, a great voice, having said all that I couldn't listen to more than 3 tracks
Respect is a top tune, the rest were so-so
Back to back Aretha Franklin albums, and this was much the better one.
Television, the Drug of the Nation is by far the best tune on the album, whilst not awful it is repetitive
I like some Bjork stuff, but this was a hard listen - couldn't finish it
No, no thanks.
It's not something I will listen to again, with the best tracks overplayed on radio, but there is worse hair-rock
Meh
A couple of classic disco trackers, but most are over long
I just can't.
Not for me
Good background music
Really enjoyed it, a lot to like.
Some great tracks, it just does quite add up
Preferred the previous two Nick Drake albums
It's just not for me
He can write songs, but doesn't have the best voice
Couldn't finish this too experimental/shit
First 3 tracks are belters, gets middle aged really fast after that
Over long, over produced.
The title track is a decent, then it gets very safe and elevator like
White man blues. The track about the 18 year old girl is a bit creepy
I now know where the Jackass theme tune comes from
Decent, a great band
It might be well crafted, but it's a bit miserable
Not very interesting background music
Couple of classic tracks, but generally too 80's
Why the fook is this shite on the list. Minus 1. Unlistenable.
Couldn't finish it. Not for me
Nice enough, but nothing special
4 stars for 1999, and the memories from Trentham Gardens new years eve party 1998
A surprisingly great album, short and to the point. Will listen again
1/10, not for me - too much screaming
9/10. A couple of the bluesy tracks not quite doing it for me. Mostly brilliant though
Odd, fun, and sleazy. An album that doesn't take its self seriously. 7/10
On a Rope is a decent track, the rest of so-so
Like a very long intro, gave up waiting for something to happen
Easy to be snooty about Green Day, but this album has got some good songs
Nearly a 5
An easy 5 stars
Slick, but shallow
Mark's voice is sometimes a hard listen, but alot of these tracks were really good
Inoffensive, but not awful
Had it's charms, but overly long
Album not available, enjoyed some of the tracks
Synth heavy
A certain charm, but not very exciting
Maximum sexiness
Meh
Dreamy, etheral etc. slightly dull but I liked it nevertheless
Dated, but decent
Like it
Nice enough, sort of Brazil's answer to Sargeant Pepper, but of course no where near as exciting
About as good as C&W gets, and that's still only a 3
For Folk music the album was actually very listenable
Couldn't finish it. Basic
Not my thing, most stracks ounded a bit samey
I enjoyed the first Dexy's album. This one much less so, not sure what they are trying to achieve, but whatever is they don't.
Unable to find the album on a streaming service
Couldn't finish it. Not for me
Nice enough laid back jazz
I like Blues music, but not sure if this is classic JLH
On the list because of what came later
Unique, original, excellent
Meh
He seems to release an album every other day, but this one was impossible to find. Not my thing
Not even going to attempt to listen to this
Dull
unable to listen
can't stand C&W
Never heard of them, but enjoyed it
Meh
Not for me, too folksy
Boomer rock, couldn't be bothered to listen to all of it on YouTube
As good as blues music gets
There's a lot of foreplay, some pleasurable some not, before Layla opens her legs for the good stuff. Oh, and Clapton is a cunt.
not their best album
My hardcore punk limit is about 3 tracks, then I've had enough
Feels a bit dated now
Classic
Sex&Drugs&Rocknroll is by far the best song, some dross on the album
Dated
Bit dull
Seven Nation Army deserves 5 stars alone
Not aged well at all
back ground music
not their best work
After the well know hits at the start of the album is progressively gets worse, couldn't finish it
Interesting stuff. Clearly influential
Awful. Random noise. Just no.
excellent background music, but kinda empty
Nearly 5 stars 9/10
C&W
Classic
Some overly long tracks, but at times enjoyable
Nice background jazz
Meh
I like their latter stuff, but this is a bit slow and odd
not bad, not great
Like the intimate feel, for C&W not bad at all 6/10
Probably best I don't understand the lyrics, given the context. Can hear the influence on Air
Has to be 5 stars.
liked this alot 4.5/5
At times amateurish, rambling and odd, but with a certain charm. Hard to believe it was recorded in 1965/1966
All the tracks have that much distortion going on they sound a bit samey, with no chance of understanding the lyrics. Bah humbug
Couple of extremely well known songs, the rest were just as cheesy
Has a certain louche charm
Don't get it
Dark, atmospheric, low-fi-esc
never been a massive fan, just a bit miserable in it?
Dad rock
Most C&W albums are one stars, this scrapes a two
Time of the season is a classic, the rest of the album was a bit disappointing
What the actual fook is this? Just about managed to listen to the first track, could not stand the drill in the second track. Just because you can (sample annoying industrial sounds), doesn't mean you should
ok, overly long
nice background music
Some of the more traditional rock tracks were great, the experimental tracks were nearly unlistenable
You wait months for an experminental German album to come along, then boom 3 in four days. This one was a bit of a bore-fest, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
ok in parts, too much crooning
as a rule I hate 80's synth music, this album did nothing to change my mind
Of it's time, but not awful
Not even going to try to listen to this. Garbage
It's great, but at times a little slow
Reminded me of the The Animals, not bad
Didn't hate this like other thrash albums, in parts it was ok. 7/10
Can tell that some of them they were off their heads for the majority of recording, at times incoherent
not for me, bit dull
Meh
Favourite Nick Cave album, not miserable like some of his others. Interesting 7/10
It's not the best Beatles album, but it's still a damn fine album
She can certainly sing, it's just not my style of music
Started with some classics, but tailed off
Couldn't finish it, not her best album
Way ahead of it's time
The second, electric, half is better than the first accoustic half.
I didn't hate this as much as I thought, but not for me
Started ok, got repetitive
Likeable reggae
Some classic tracks - America, Mrs Robinson, but the not so classic tracks are forgettable
A great debut album, not at their peak though
As a teenager this would have defo been a 5 star rating, now I'm middle aged and slightly grumpy I'm knocking a star off for the stupid interludes and the misogyny
It's not the worse C&W I've heard, but it's still C&W
An album that probably needs repeated listens to fully appreciate it. I can see the similarities with The Flamping Lips
As an instrument the conga does not have a lot of variety, I suspect. There is only so much you can do, and after a while listening to it (say 2 to 3 minutes) becomes tiresome
Got a lot of love this album, it's not a masterpiece but it is very very good. 7/10
Nearly 5 stars. 9/10
Forgettable background muzak
Meh
Enjoyed that. Spellbound is a top tune
Fairly decent punk music, not massively blown away but listenable
Almost a one star. Joyless, and Damian voice grates after a while
Some good tunes 7/10
Two consecutive early 90's rave albums, both of their time but enjoyable
It's my type of hip hop, it's just not amazing
I'm more of an Oasis fan
One of my wife's favourtites. It has some classic tracks
my type of hip-hop, but not their best album
Like it
Nope, it's just a bit dull/depressing
ok jazz, with a lot of organ
Meh
middle of the round
Lacked Paul Simon
1969 & I Wanna be your dog are brilliant tracks, the rest of the album is so-so
Meh
My Friend is a great tune
Meh
Cheer up love, it might never happen
grates after a while, only so much middle ages warbling a man can take
Some bangers on here
Not yet hit the hights
not as fun as other S&TFS albums
mostly unlistenable
Got boring really fast
I'm starting to think, 980 albums in, that there is only 200 maybe 300 albums max that you need to hear before you die. Fever Ray is not one of them. The vocals are really annoying
He might have created ambient music, but it has been done better, overall a bit dull
Loved this album in 2002, it's not aged very well though
ok background music
not really my thing, not as annoying as most thrash metal though
An interesting album, main highlight being the two tracks covered by Nirvana in their MTV live session. 7/10
Fun in parts, doesn't take itself seriously
bit dull
no meat on these bones
Surprinsgly poor
Enjoyably bonkers, & A Minha Meina is a top tune
Some decent stuff on here
star knocked off for a couple of terrible filler type tracks
not up to classic ealry Portishead standards
Didn't expect to like a folk album so much, but will listen again
boring
Christ no
Not even going to try and listen to this one
hard work
Starts ok, gets wierd quick
Meh
Started of well, the sort of industrial heavy metal I can just about listen to, then got repetitve
half of one track was more than enough
Ridiculous how may top songs this album has, and how many have been covered by famous artists. The covers might have been sung better, with a more polished production, but it would be wrong not to give this album 5 stars
Got a lot of raw charm, & some top tunes
Bit samey
Christ it's awful
Didn't blow me away, he can write a good song he can't necessarily sing it
hard work listening on YouTube, not worth it
I like Steve Mason, but this album is forgettable
Decent enough rock n roll 3.5/5
Blitzkrieg Pop is a classic, but the tunes do sound very samey
Starts of brilliantly, then trails off
It's no Pill & Thrills, a far superior album
hard work
One of the best chill out albums ever. 9/10
decent punk
Mixed bag
Suprisingly beautiful, nice laidback Indian music
dull
The well known hits hit hard, most of the album tracks do not hit at all
meh
started ok, last few tracks unlistenable
7/10
I now know why Bowie covered Amsterdam. As for the rest of album I had to give up, it's hard work listening to a foreign language album.
It's been a while on this list, but at last a decent album I'd not listended to before
A couple of bum tracks, but mostly a fun listen
Some nice funky tracks
Enjoyed that. Top quality hip hop from the best period for that genre
The run of good albums had to end somewhere. Not as unlistenable as some noise rock, it still lacks melody etc.
Nope
I just can't listen to C&W.
Smooth middle of the road Steely Dan-esque beat
Couldn't finish it, an album I'd rather hear after death
all a bit samey, got boring real fast
Streets of my town is a top tune, the rest not so much
couple of 80's classics, but a lot of dross too
Bob Dylan-lite
It's got be a 5, some of the tracks are all-time classics
just brilliant
Reading the reviews and thought I would hate it, but Id didn't - it was ok
not something I'd listen to again, but not awful
Chicago is a brilliant song, I liked some of the others - the album overstayed it's welcome though.
Upbeat Nice Cave is so much better than depressing/slow Cave. Enjoyed it
Don't fully get The Fall fandom thing, some tracks have a certain charm but mostly incoherent
Couple of nice tracks, and I didn't hate the rest like I do most C&W
I did a fair amount of raving in the 90's (I have tinnitus and the short term memory loss to prove it) so enjoyed this
not for me this one
it was ok, a bit samey
It was ok
bit dull
7/10. Liked it
Annoyingly I enjoyed the album, he might be one of the biggest tools alive but back in the day he could craft a tune
A couple of fun tracks, but mostly shite
Had a certain raw charm
Didn't blow me away, it was ok
Not their best album on this list, still a lot to like though
Meh
If I could give a minus I would. Managed about 20 seconds
not sure why it's on this lsit, it's ok
fun, but not really engaging
