The White Stripes
3/5
The frist track, Blue Orchids reminds me of solething familiar and as everything familiar it's quite pleasant. I kow the name White Stripes but it's not what I have in mind, then I realize the duo guitar_drums I am thnking about was made of two bloke, it stirkes me: it's the not the WHite Wtripes but the Black Keys I am thinking about. And I knw why I know the White Stripes: their previous hit THE SEVEN NATION ARMY with its signature bass guitar line.
In overall the second listening of this album is not bad a quick glimpse at the texts reveals a diversity of themes with a not too shallow approach. The vocals are nice. Some tracks could have benefited a better orchestration.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
2/5
Having listened quite my share of Crosby Stills Nash & Young and Neil Young's Havest in my days, I was surprised to have absolutely no love for this album. One listening of this album is enough for me today as I even have too much of Neil's voice.
Soul II Soul
1/5
I was really worried at the beginning as I identified the album as RnB (that has little in common with "rhytme and blues", which I have more than disdain for. The singers spend to much time listening to their vocalizes with no real purpose of melody. That's only my point of view. But then I felt the Trip hop vibes even recognized two tracks, the hit back to life and jazzy Groove. So I managed to get through all the album without too much suffering and even pleasure sometimes. I won't do it agaoin though. What I like is thtat for me it's the big brother /sister of the coming troip hp of the 90's British scene : Massive Attack, Sugar Cubes, Morcheeba (that I once saw live in Beijing in 2002), tricky and a lots of Ninja Tunes. But's it's always better with a real drum !
The Cult
2/5
Not my cup of tea. Seems dull often. I liked the first track though, reminds me of teh very 80's Billy Idol.
Beck
3/5
The Strokes
3/5
Not bad. Goo dintentions, A bit tiring in the end
George Harrison
2/5
Sorry Georges, but it bored me.
Paul Simon
3/5
Nice to hear. Started with a reggae song ! Well I 've always been quite fond of Simon's early solo songs.
David Bowie
4/5
Bowie - together with Lennon, Mack Cartney and Neil Young - is at the top of the 1001 albums list with 9 albums to his name without even counting the 2 Iggy Pop that he produced taht are also in this list, so we must get used to encounter some of his records.
As a fan of his early period but this album isn't really my favourite. I still do love Mick Ronson's fat overdrived guitars that would pave the way to the coming age of punk rock. It's another album with reference to the stardom (of " A lad Insane"), with it's etheral vocal that almost disappear behind the piano solo. Jean Genie, the hit about Iggy Pop and (Jean Genet) is poping out.
Well I mainly like and remember those two titles.
Aretha Franklin
4/5
The Doors
4/5
My late teenage days... and beyond... Some songs are less apealing now -Break on through for instance) but despite having heard them too much I stil believe it's a reat album.
Elvis Costello & The Attractions
3/5
I love the guy, always fun and still there... And i had always like the Pump it up song, lyrics are nice too, but nothing really stands out here. 3 is my sympathy vote.
Teenage Fanclub
3/5
The Beatles! "get out of this band! I summon you". Iwas expecting to hear "number 9" spoken in the mliddle of "SATAN" and could have sworn hearing Paul Mc Cartney in "what you do to me", so I particulary liked the harmonies and the fact that they married well with distorded guitars.
UB40
4/5
A very nice surprise!
I had the memory of a cheesy fake reaggae music from the 80's (think "Red red Wine" or "I got you babe"). Since then I lived in London in the 90's where I discovered a vibrant dub scene. It was a time where jazz, rock, dub, trip hop and all you could see a lot of venues musicians playing along Dj's. So I got to like Dub as well (Aba Shanti)
With this is mind this album feels like a precusor and I really enjoyed the band vibes it has. I mean the album really sound like a nice jam session. So I'll give a 4, for the "historical milestone" which is maybe a tad more than it deserves.
Creedence Clearwater Revival
3/5
I love thiis kind of nice blues songs but some of them such as Bad Moodn Rison, LOdi or Cross tie are too "country music" for me.
Johnny Cash
3/5
Mixed feeling. I like the guy, I like his overall work but clearly this album doesn't do him justice. It's very short for a start, with a song that is played twice. Not the best material from Cash, a part from the famous "walk the line", but then again, the audio is crap.
It's interesting though that he chose to do concerts in these tough prisons, long before Bertrand Cantat ;-p. I love the speech with sentences like "can you pass me the book with all the songs I stole" or a bit far fetched :"you kow they wanted me to do this songs aand that.. but no, Me, I want t do wat I want and what you want so.. Walk the line".
Wanted man is Quite a nice song
St Quentin. It's a nice touch to make a song specialy for them and it was ppreciated. But twice the same short song...
A Boy named Sue, Great story, it coyld be made in a short moovie or a comic. The song was first sang on this concert, reading the lyrics on a paper as the band improvised.
At the end what I was most disapointed about was that we can't hear - as often lives by the likes of the Beatles at the same period - the girls screaming. ;-p
Marvin Gaye
1/5
I'ts not my cup of tea. Even mwith nice harmonies here and there, I have the impression that thes osnga are a continuois moaning with sometimes multiples voices. Get a room!
More seriously, I love "I heard it through the grapvines" from MG, but it seems he's the reason why we have now generatuon of R&B moaning too.
So just personal taste. It's a 1 for me.
Pentangle
3/5
Interesting finding. Iwas suprised by he medieval etheral vocals that reminded me of the 4AD's Dead Can Dance and Cocteau Twins. It resnates as well with folk music we have here in Brittany and the 70's folk revival under the helm of Harpist, bombard and bagpipie player Alan Stivel. It also resonates with the classic Greensleeves or Scarbporough Fair.
Above all, I found the album pleasing to my ears.
The Blue Nile
3/5
Quite 80, reminded me of Peter Gabriel and Talk Talk. I don't know what to say except that the author of the 1001 selection must be Scot since it's the second Scottish unedr the radar band that we hear. It's like I'd put Tri Yann the best of in my 1001 selection.
Now back to the album. It's not bad and I did like to listen to it But I will forget it soon and probably won't think it again ever. Good effort though.
Herbie Hancock
5/5
A great album and a long tiume favourite of mine. The beginning of the use of synths. I give it a 5 for its milestone status.
Bob Marley & The Wailers
4/5
Probably not my favourite Bob Marley, but notable for being the one that made reggae famous. I give a 4 out of sympathy as some titles are not as good as the others.
Frankie Goes To Hollywood
1/5
Really not my cup of tea.
Wu-Tang Clan
3/5
Coldplay
4/5
Yes
3/5
Not easy listening, not difficult either. Can and Brahms is just out of place ;-p, five per cent is juste experimental. In general while I like the instrumentals I can't help but feel that the vocals lacks presence.
Rush
3/5
Venom
3/5
Surprisingly listenable. How scared I was when the first lrycis were sung! and then I realised I liked the "Black Metal" ending with the growling voice.
I don't think I'll do it again, but good effort! 20 titles!
Brian Eno
2/5
Good effort. There's something. Undeniably. But I just can't find it entertaining.
Steely Dan
2/5
Just can't remember what I listened yesterday. Forgettable.
Jimmy Smith
4/5
Tears For Fears
2/5
3/5
Well, it does get the "Proust's madeleine" job strolling me along (nice) memory lane when I lived in London during "Cool Britania" Tony Blair' s time.
But this album didn't age gracefully and only the hit Wonderwall still rings nice to the ears. I give it a 3 rather than a 2 only for history. Today I am sure I'd vote Tony BLUR!
Black Flag
2/5
A harcore fan of punk but not a fan of hardcore punk. I grew adolescent with punk rock, the Buzzcocks, the Cramps, the Sex Pistols, The Clash, the Gen X, even "les Beeru", but never heard of them... And I hear nice things here and there in this album, but it's mainly boring and noisy to me. Talk about growing old ;-p.
Yet I'd give a few points here to recognize the influence it could have had on one of my favourite the Toy Dolls, especially when singing in choir (yes, yes I hear it at times)
Happy Mondays
4/5
Led Zeppelin
4/5
I just can't be objective as far as Led Zep is concerned. Yet I only give a 4 on this one because of the 3 or even 4 other albums that deserve a 5.
The direction here is more folk. Yet I still regard "Since I been loving" you a masterpiece solo (slow) blues, and oh just to follow "Out on the tiles"! Well it' still a great album with these 4 guys always contributing equally a great deal.
The White Stripes
4/5
A lot of nice songs with great guitars. Much better than Get behind me Satan.
Portishead
3/5
Bonnie Raitt
2/5
Nice voice, a few nice blues songs, but nothing that much outstanding. Did I miss something? (apart from the stylish cover?) grin.
The Only Ones
3/5
Surpsingly good. Who said punk rock allowed non-musician to make music?
Aretha Franklin
4/5
Bob Dylan
2/5
I 've always though Dylan was way overated. I even went to see him about 15 years ago in Beijing and hos total lack of generosity toward the public made me dislike him too as a person. Well what he's recognised for is songwriting, poetry (not sure his litterature Nobel prize is deserved though, but Ombama got the Nobe Peace...). And he sure does write some very good texts. Some very good songs too. Look: All along the watch towers (Hendrix made me love this song), Like a rolling stone, Knok on a Heaven's door.. great songs when they are played by others.
Because what I am not found of is his orchestration and his voice (and his ego). Songs like I want you is nice, because the melody is backed by the guitar; taking over where the voice should.
I won't listen the whole album again.
Well a bit harsh on the monument, but only because it was built too high in my opinion.
Lana Del Rey
2/5
Sruprisingly not that bad, just not very memorable. I guess the songwriting is the key here and the texts are quite good.
Ute Lemper
3/5
Dr. Octagon
3/5
NOt bad, quite fun , relaeased that same year Doc Gyneco realeased his first album
Adele
3/5
Its not Amy Winhouse but I like these British Soul voices like Dusty Spingfield. I did not listened too much beacuse of the WE though.
Pixies
4/5
A harcore Pixies fan since day one, I love this album with its mix of energy and noisy sounds that never forget the melody layer. Yet, despite the iconic Where is my mind, their 3 following albums are better in my opinion.
Coldplay
4/5
Very good start from Coldplay. Preparing "A rush" which I feel i s a bit better produced. Anyway I had always listened to this albums without distinction. Very nice for a Monday morning.
Beatles
4/5
A solid Classic overheard so much time with yet underestimated titles such as You can't do that. I remember the feeling of deja vu when I heard Kurt Cobain's (great accoustic) cover of and I love her. That's because although these song aged with maybe vocals "tto clean" and theme still mainly about teens' love.
Beastie Boys
3/5
Not the novelty that was Licensed to Ill with it's "Rage Against the Machine" punk vibes, it stays as a milestone defining the NY Hip Hop Scene. But that was the album before Money Mark..
Billy Joel
3/5
Billy Joel seems a farce, I’ll never listen to one of his song again the same way after seeing the serie The Boys. 😂
Beatles
4/5
Lynyrd Skynyrd
4/5
Great songs !
Deep Purple
4/5
DJ Shadow
4/5
It pains me to praise another time a no musician album but these guys do have the gnack for music. I bought this disc in the early 2000's and haven't stopped liking it.
Nightmares On Wax

Michael Jackson
3/5
Jamiroquai

Digital Underground

Oasis
4/5
It was nice, it was somehow new and it defenetely started teh cool Britania, in addition it aged quite well.
Van Morrison
3/5
Some great songs!
JAY Z
3/5
First time I listen to on of Jay Z tune (with knowledge). I am pleasantly surprised.
Difficult to tell anythoing about the lyrics after a quick glance. I am not sure I understand what the message is. There's the gansta attitude...
The Mothers Of Invention
3/5
Small Faces
4/5
Elton John
3/5
Little Richard
4/5
Classics! Tt's more than just an album that is rated here, it's classics songs (tutt frutti, long tall Sally) and the personna (dance, and shouts) that is Little Richard that both contributes to defines the then budgeonning rock', n roll. As Jon Lord of Deep Purple said "There would have been no Deep Purple if there had been no Little Richard."
Fatboy Slim
2/5
Good tunes, certainly groundbreaking at the time, but what was introduced as a compilation is not up there with "You've come a long way baby" and "Pallookaville".
LL Cool J
2/5
It's not my cuppa, but I must say it was quite nice for 1990
Iggy Pop
3/5
U2
2/5
NOt my favourite. Bono's etheral voice doesn't really make it for me here.
Bob Dylan
4/5
The Beta Band
4/5
An English Air? I knew "the square". It's very pleasant to hear and a very good sound of its time. Like Air it's simple and does the job.
The Beach Boys
4/5
How convenient this album n the wake of Brian Wilson's death.
I knw there's an answer is a great exemple of the melodic genius of the guy. But let's face it, it got old. While they were groundbreaking at the time, greatly influencing th elikes of the Beatles, their sound is dated.
4/5
Pink Floyd
5/5
Fleetwood Mac
3/5
The Birthday Party
2/5
I applaud the rock'n roll attitude but it's barely listenable. Somehow, even though Nick Cave is shouting all the time the sound seems to lack of presence. Neither the bass nor the guitar really gives an harmonic and even less a melodic colour. Is that production?
Suzanne Vega
3/5
Nice in its genre. But what is there to say ?
Earth, Wind & Fire
2/5
Good musician but I can't stand these songs. Barely listenable for me.
Buddy Holly & The Crickets
3/5
It sure got old. But what a legacy!
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
3/5
Nice to hear. the lyrics are great, but I don't know what the fuss is about.
The Isley Brothers
3/5
Television
2/5
Count Basie & His Orchestra
4/5
The The
3/5
I listened quite a lot of The The in my days so my vote reflects the nostalgia. The drums are very 80's, almost beat box, not my favourite but it still does the job.
Moby
4/5
OK, I hear the hate, "it's just easy listening samples". Well first I d'like to acknowlledge the novelty of this sound at the time, the influence it had . I remember the first I heard of Moby's sound were soundtrack interludes on the BBC. I thought they had nice sounds and realized later it was part of this CD. Well later on we all knew it and we've probably heard it way too much.
Queen Latifah
4/5
Very pleasantly surprised. 1989! I reckon she was a pionneer in female rap and I recognize her flow's style in later British rap artists.
Pretenders
2/5
Good thing we don't judge a book by its cover. Univen more than eclectic .I 'd favour the punk tunes.
Neil Young
3/5
Prelude to Harvest
The Saints
3/5
Nice punk album.
CHIC
4/5
It gest tiring, I feel to listend to the whole record. But what an iconic sound defining the disco funk of the early 80's. So many time covered and sampled. "CHIC, c'est chic".
The Pretty Things
3/5
Very nice. It gets the sound of the era. You could think it's the Beatles at times. I haven't tried to look or listen at the lyrics, but I read its the first rock opera, so kuddos to that. it redefind teh concept of an album from a list of songs to a whole story. A concept now forgotten with algorhytmes that make (often very well I must say) our playlists.
Metallica
4/5
a good surprise
Neil Young
3/5
I didn't know this album. Nice
The Incredible String Band
2/5
Brian Eno
1/5
oh so boring. But good effort. It was worth trying.
Creedence Clearwater Revival
5/5
I'll quote wiki (and next thing, I'll ask an IA to write my reviews):
"Perhaps more than any other Creedence album, Cosmo's Factory displays the wide range of musical ingredients that provided the foundation for their "swamp rock" sound: R&B ("Before You Accuse Me", "My Baby Left Me"), soul ("I Heard It Through the Grapevine", "Long As I Can See the Light"), country ("Lookin' Out My Back Door"), rockabilly and classic rock and roll ("Ooby Dooby", "Travelin' Band"), and psychedelia ("Ramble Tamble")."
I could listen in loop. the cover of "I heard it through " is really inspired.
Depeche Mode
3/5
Such an influencial group, I'd give a four start if there were a bit less syths, but it was the sound of the time and furthermore their instruments. Thier music is certainly inluenced by the fact that they were keyboardists above all.
Once you count the amount of cover versions from their various records you can comprehend their influence. From this album, I recomend "Never let mle down again from" the Smashing Pumkins.
De La Soul
3/5
Joni Mitchell
3/5
I am not so found of all that jazz ( that kind of jazz) but I appreciate the lyrics.
I read them and it's just poetry. So if we listened to this album as sung poetry (not all songs have that ambition). it's quite allright.
And it's Joni Mitchell!
Black Sabbath
3/5
Suprinsingly good. Escpecially after reading all the stories about the everest of snow and other substances they blew during the recording. It's my first Black Sabbath and I didn't think they were that old/early relly being pionners in the genre. I guees there's a good algorythm prompting an album after an artist death.
Scott Walker
2/5
I almost didn't bother to listen to the whole album and i am glad I ifishd it since from "hero of war" and "the old man", it was easier to listen to for me. I guess I was annoyed by the constant vioalins ?
I had a look at the lyric and they're very poetic. I guess that where the value of this record is.
Willie Nelson
3/5
The Who
4/5
I hadn't particularly listened to this album before, so no affect there.
At the risk of beeing sacrilegious, I find the album unaven, with great song that pop out like Baba O'Riley or Behind blue eyes, and other forgatables. It probably deserves more listening though.
Jerry Lee Lewis
4/5
As a teen I watched the biopic with Denis Quaid and my brother would play Great Balls of Fire on the piano, so it was nice to hear. I also appreciate the improvised recording set up which makes it a great documentary. Difficult to judge out of context 60 years later. Well stiilvery nice to listent to.
Tom Tom Club
3/5
A lot of sympathy for this album and even for the half Breton-French bassist Tina Weymouth (Talking Heads, Gorillaz), but certainly not enough material to make so much tracks. I understand why the two first track got successfull though. I give it a 3 because it's a new sound for the time... And you got to love the sleeve's artwork!
Marvin Gaye
4/5
I am not too found of the music, melody and arrangements but love the texts and sometiemes the voice.

Quite pleasing to the ears I listned through the whole 49 mn. It clearly aged though and when you 're not thinking your watching the Dukes of hazard, you sometimes could help with a quicker tempo.
3/5
good effort
Bruce Springsteen
2/5
I don't get the hype.
Mott The Hoople
3/5
I had the feeling I was listening to David Bowie, Mick Ronson time. And Wikipedia tells me it's very possible since it seems the 25 years old dude spent most of his time playing, singing composing and producing his idols such as Loud Reed, Iggy Pop, and... Mott?
It's quite allright though but not the same.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
4/5
Because it's them because it's me. I can't help but fell sympathy for the guys. There I am listening another time on this Monday morning. The Lyre of Orpheus with it's gimmick "Oh Mama" is the only song that stucks. Nontheless after I gave a 3 to the Mooth, I have to go higher.
Nick Drake
3/5
good effort
Donald Fagen
1/5
Not my jazz
The Electric Prunes
3/5
Great titles, good lyrics actually, good performance... maybe missing a soul?
Justin Timberlake
2/5
Good producing, not my style as I can't stand R'nB. But kuddos to the guy for bouncing up after his boy's band and the carrer that we know.
Otis Redding
5/5
Everything he sang can be in my playlist. It's said that the Stones changed their renditiuon of Satisfaction after hearing his.
5/5
What a nice surprise, jazzy, funky, it' has it all!
The Specials
5/5
Cassettes, CD, I listened to this album for many years and yesterday I was fifteen again, hence the 5 stars.
Prince
1/5
I just can't get the hype. I feel most of the album just misses a rhythm section. The vocals hamonies are there sometimes, but most of the time it's just dull. Two songs to save I think: The Cross, and Sign of the time with its "bass" gimmick.
Fela Kuti
5/5
What's not to love?
Bill Evans Trio
4/5
Pop music? maybe at the time? Anyway without feeling anything extraordinary this album has (the bass solo is something), I confess I had a CD I liked to listen from Bill Evans (conversatrions with mywelf) now and then... as ambiance music.
Nirvana
5/5
What a revelation when I head this album for the first time. (I remember where). It was love at first sight. Its downhill is maybe that we heard it too much. But what an impact it had at that time. that's the reason for the 5th star.
Joan Baez
4/5
Booker T. & The MG's
2/5
It's heartbraking. On one hand you want to acknoledge the influences you do recognize in many songs of that era probably ignitiated by those "hired guns". Starting with the classic Green Onions. On another hand you can't pass the fact tht these insytrumental versions are just plain dull. Some of thes tracks you wouldn't even play in an elevator, at best in an 80's video game or a funfair thyanks to the the organ. The best version of Twist and shout is the Beatles' with screamin John Lennon, while I do love Mel Tormey's "Comin' home", I can only feel half of the hamronies in this one...
Kings of Leon
3/5
pleasant
The Who
3/5
Jeff Buckley
4/5
4. Because he left too soon, because obviously this album is carefully products, because Halleluia...
Buffalo Springfield
3/5
It's difficult to put a label on this records, but we can hear the premiceses of Neil Young's or Still's "folk" rock.
I don't think I'll listend it again although songs like bluebird caugh my ear. Would I include it in my 1000 records to listen before you die if I hand one : I don't thinks so.
The Who
2/5
Quite long and unaven which makes it difficult to grasp. It's a rock opera and I ddn't even lokked at the lyrics... can't really find really good songs or tracks . How ibfluencial this was? not sure, my first impression after Two listenings : overrated.
The xx
3/5
Very nice. It's good to know they made the music before the samples.
Elvis Presley
5/5
Rock birth. It took a white guy to make black music pop music. So many iconic songs.
Bob Dylan
3/5
I am definetely not a Dylan fan. Even less after I wentto see him live and the obvious lack of generosity, the entitlement (I wondered why he bothered to show up), on an already bad voice made me put it on the bottom of my shelve. Yet here, listening the album twice, I measure the length of his stories.
It's not Verse 1, chorus, verse2, chorus, verse 1 again... it's 9 mn long stories with different lines all along (Lily Rosemary...) and the stories are quoite nice (should I say poetry for the Nobel price?).
Yet, musicaly... Not so much melody, lazy voice...
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
2/5
It's not horrible, I let it turn twice in a loop. Yet I don't get how it can be included in this list. It's post T-Rex/Bowie glam, it tends toward Fm rock... As big his CV seems to be, I had never heard of Tom Petty before. Forgettable.
Paul McCartney and Wings
2/5
I love Paul, but that's cheesy as hell.
Peter Frampton
3/5
Dusty Springfield
3/5
I discovered throught the "son of preacher" made famous by Pulp Fiction. Yet after this gem and Jacques Legrand's Windmills of your mind I am not too mooved. I like though the "back to the source" d ieda of coming to Menphis getting songs from the studio and working there for the already famous British singer.
Steely Dan
2/5
There's something and then it's nothing. I think I particularly dislike the voice. I don't know what to say. But I won't listen again.
The Black Keys
4/5
Simple, and highly enjoyable. the combo voice/ guitar and or bass with drums is far from the over produced sound of the time. Some songs sounds like others? it's because there's Black Keys sound.
Dire Straits

I am biased. I remember when it was out when I was in 8th grade (4ème) and it was my first casette non recorded on the radio that I'd put in my first walkman. All the songs are engraved in me.
But overall it aged quite well, Mark Knoffler's genius guitar, his raucaus voice... even "this little trick" with the saxo à la Kenny G goes well (with me) thanks to good song and harmonies.
Well, there's the faggot verse in Money for nothing. That aged.

Nice, not more.

I can't believe people bought this. it was almost paionful to hear. Apart from the hit "What's love... " because it's been hamered in my brain for 4 decades. She's got a voice I give her that, but there's nothing else.

Sonic Youth

I remember this album very muchwhen I was a student in my 20's and feeling it was too noisy. After time I don't really fee that way at all ;-). It's noisy sometime and not that much.
Miles Davis

Aerosmith

The songs aged, but I'll remember the iconic guitar riffs for both chorus and verse of Walk this Way, the spoken rhytmic flow that made it so easy to later make it a hip hop song with RDMC.
I loved discovering here the bluesy Big Ten inch record in between Walk this Way and Sweet Emotions the seonc hit.
The Stooges
3/5
Clearly not my favourite Stooges. Yet still the embryos of Punk.
The Everly Brothers

LCD Soundsystem

I remember listening quite a lot of their first album back in 2005 and getting bored a fter a while. I feel the same on this one.
Yet I applaud the attitude.

I dislike Rn'B. There's nothing here that reminds me of the glory days of the Wutang.
Germs

Starting my tennage in teh end of the eighties, I love Punk music. Here I like the drums, even the guitar and the bass most sometimes, but the singer is just putting it all off for me.
Jethro Tull
3/5
I knew Jethro Tull for its psychedelic synchoped flute tunes so I had great expectations. But my quick listening didn't stick. Should I give it another go?
The Stone Roses
3/5
I remember the Stones Roses having an aura of the next best thing in britpop, surfing on the Acid wave and burning the Dance floors of the cult Manchester La Hacienda. Yet, at the time I didn’t get the it and 25 years later, I only feel a kind of sympathy for their music. .
Blur
4/5
I’ve always have been keen of Cool Britannia BritPop. Maybe because I have lived in London for a while at the time. And Dallin Albarn’s Gorillaz proved me right. So I was a bit disappointed to not felling more listening to this album.
David Gray

Dexys Midnight Runners
4/5
God, how much I listened to this album (cassette) back in the days, even though more in 1987, 2 years after its release, in the aftermath of Come on Eilein. I am very happy to get back to this. It’s very enjoyable with its Soul vibes, warm horns, kevin Rowland’s crooner voice, difficult to guess these guys come from Punk rock. Not Otis Redding, but out of nostalgia I ‘ll give it a 4
