Never listened to it before. Absolutely cracking 3 song start! V good
Not good
it was ok liked the production design
A great pop album with well-written tunes; every song is bop-worthy with a lot of variety. I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. STANDOUTS: -Faith -I Want Your Sex -One More Try -Hard Day -Hand Over Mouth -Monkey -Kissing a Fool
Nice
ALL TIME BANGERS. lol. But, a good pop record of its era.
pffft
Kissing a fool is great.
Singles are great, rest of the album is fine. 5-6/10
I did not expect to enjoy George Michael as much as I did.
Damn. I forgot how great this album is. The first album I ever purchased, as well.
When I was a kid I was obsessed with this album. It's been a running joke for years in my family. All joking aside after listening to this from top to bottom (LOL) for the first time since I was probably 5 I can safely say it's a classic. Almost every damn song is good. Younger me had great taste!
Smooth, sexy.
It was all right, not my main cup of tea, but many familiar songs
Better than expected. Second half was decent
Couldn't finish it. I tried
Didn't care for this too much. One thing which did suprise me was George's voice is pretty good, and would probably be better if backed by different music, and not the 80s synth.
Track 1 - yeah yeah, I remember, 80's cheese, guitars are nice and jingly. #2. ungh. trying not to skip. 5.5 minutes? skip. #3. 9 minutes of nope. skip. #4. Look, I don't like George Michael. I didn't like Wham. Pop garbage getting a 1 star.
Incredible.
What a single
Very basic pop for first half. Probably dope in it's time but not my thing. Second half was great with more jazz and jazzy balads
such a great album, especially for coming out
Not a huge fan of George Michael. Not enjoying this album really. Just bad 80s pop.
Well HAWT DAMN! Pretty fun album eh. Phenomenal.
Quality album, just not a fan of his style per say.
Next please
Faith and One More Try were really good, but the rest of the songs kind of melded together. I couldn't listen to 10 minutes of "I Want Your Sex"
Ikoniskt 80-tal.
Actually very good album which has plenty of great songs. At first glance I knew that Faith was good and expected other songs to be OK at best. But it was actually very good.
You gotta have faith!
80's
this album is not good. well, it's well produced, but the songs just suck. they're all products of their time, with little to no heart. so many songs are just "please have sex with me i want sex so bad please it's good please i'm a gentleman but i want sex" stupid dumb idiot album
Very '80s, very culturally important, but again not for me.
Boring
smooth, chill, rather direct on topics but overall well done
Faith & One More Try were good
Such an incredible album-- yeah it has the hits, but this album showcases George Michael's ability to take sound and make it unique.
I hadn't really listened to much George Michael music before this album. I like it. Upbeat, Smooth voice and suggestive lyrics are a winning combination.
Good Record! timeless
A classic I grew up with. Always fun to listen to
Really groovy, a party album for sure
I feel like I'm listening to a 90's boy band. Respect where respect is due, clearly George Michael's music influenced those acts, and I can objectively recognize this is good pop music, but I am in no way feeling this. It's not my music.
While the title track is undeniably dope, nothing else on here really held my attention. Sleazy style over content.
Not a bad pop album but absolutely nothing special. First two songs are good, after that the album becomes to monotonous to impress
Fedt album og lækker 80er lyd. Mange numre holder stadigvæk
Great songs, great vocals
Not nice
Not bad for a start. Interesting. 4
6,5
eeh
5 stars for faith and father figure. the rest is blah 3.5
Opløftende upbeat, britisk pop, catchy, kærlighed
Being sex positive? Cool. Doing it like an after school PSA? Not so much
loved “KISSING A FOOL”!!
George has got a nice voice, and there are some good arrangements here, especially in the back half. Overall, though, it's an unengaging experience. Thankfully, not in a boring way: Even after almost an hour I wasn't checking to see how much was left. But after the opening tracks, which come across as nothing more than a very lame attempt to shock the audience, I couldn't stop noticing the unimpressive writing. I don't think there's a case for this being offensively bad pop music, but it loses me on every other level.
4/22 This man can sing his heart out. Standout Tracks: One More Try, Hard Day, Hand to Mouth, Kissing a Fool
Ok
