I love Liberian Girl and Dirty Diana. These totally weird narratives about fake personas are just like amazing time capsules to me. All the other songs are obvious bangers but these two songs about random fictional women are awesome.

Loved this! An overlooked folk classic!! My favorite track was Medley: The Lark in the Morning!

Reminds me of cross of Oasis and Brian Jonestown massacre. Some good jams, but mostly forgettable.

Mostly Forgettable, Couple good jams like Cruz and the Redman Jam, but i do think this is a good album and she is super talented, im happy for her.

I think its very nice and trippy. For an ambient album it is extremely entertaining. This is definitely early LCD soundsystem inspired tripped out soundscapes you could get stoned to and be totally entertained. Would listen to again.

Of all the jazz music i do not understand i do really enjoy this guy. To be honest he sounds very talented while making music i can enjoy. Most jazz for me is over my head and i dont think it sounds very pretty. This is pretty technically proficient and worth a re-listen.

TBH it started off like i was gonna like it. its cool they are aussies and i def remember them all over mtv and commercials back in the day. I do love the album art. But there are some songs that really sound like they are on autopilot.

IDK what to say i think the buzzcocks are boring and the singer sounds like geddy lee. "I dont mind" Slaps tho. 3 stars.

A perfect album a seriously enjoyable listen les go

This is more of a 3.5 i started off not loving the album. But after a while i dug the texture of the production, the glam of the guitar, and the fun lyrics. It sounds like a heavier beatles, like helter skelter but a little more rockin and heavy.

The wikipedia about this album is so interesting. How the bandmembers had to be institutionalized during recording. The roominess of the guitars is a beautiful characteristic. The brother of a bandmember said the album sounded spidery, i def agree.

1ST off i am biased. This is my absolute favorite era of music. It is so nostalgic for me and i love the production. Always so grand, treble-ey, compressed drums, i just love it. easy 4/5.

Pretty happy optimistic album Theres a few really good tracks i enjoy like Angels, old before i die, and Baby girl window.... But tbh i cant really imagine myself revisiting it tho.

An obvious all-time fav and classic. Staple in any collection. Gut feeling, space junk, come back jonee, mogoloid.... Absolute favorite.

1987 is still in the era of my fav music ever. The production quality is just awesome has the best sound of any era of music. Lil' Devil is a hit. Killer Guitar solo during Electric ocean. Definitely heard Bad FUn on the radio at some point. Pretty good but the verses sounds kinda generic. Chorus bops tho. Love Removal machine is a great hi energy good time jammer too.

Only critique of the album is that its super spooky and scary and kind of got to be in a certain vibe to get thru it all. But it has so many songs that can get stuck in your head like "Murder in the red barn" "In the Colleseum" "Earth Died screaming" and then there is some real heavy hitters like "Goin out west" "I dont wanna grow up"

Some good songs like bound 2 and black skinhead, but i cant dig with the overt graphic sexual references and himself calling himself king and god it just sounds corny and lame. Embarassed for some of the collaborators on these songs. 3 stars cause the production and samples/beats are so damn good.

Really loving "What you waitin 4" I love they are singing about house jams again on this record like they do on "Straight out the jungle" from the year before. I love the jungle brothers they sound like de la soul and arrested development. This era of hip hop is classic for a reason. The flow feels just like de la soul where the samples feel like parliament funk samples. Honestly its good and i love the jungle brothers but none of the songs on this album really hook me. Im more bored than anything.

Anticipated a 5, giving it a 3. The Drum solo track is my fave. Im probably to stupid to like it more.

Honestly this album reminds me so much of when i first moved to san francisco. Listneing to High on Fire, Witchcraft, pentagram, electric wizard. For some reason living in the mission made me hellbent on being a motorcycle riding skateboarding metalhead that lived on 24th st. Great memmys.

Better than Throbbing Gristle. Maybe not as good as trout mask replica. But definitely interesting, im scared to say it... but im fairly certain i enjoy it could never see myself buying this on vinyl ever tho. Definitely some songs remind me of "This Heat"

I had no idea Julian Cope was in Teardrop explodes! Totally makes me want to revisit that band and the rest of Julian Copes catalog! But this album didnt do much for me.

Great Album! Such a fun listen, gotta be a staple in anyones collection.

Im not crazy about Ray Charles. All these songs sound like they were written and performed better previously by someone else. Also sounds like a performance while you eat dinner at a tableclothed dinner theater in the 60s drunk on martinis and champagne. But i know hes amazing and these do sound great but the horns and band over power any sort of piano playing going on if any.

I love this era of music. Reminds me of The minutemen or the strapping fieldhands, or the gibson brothers. Punk bros who are influenced by country music and just get in and pick like crazy to some pretty uptempo stuff. i love it.

Probably one of the most influential best records my earholes have ever been fortunate enough to receive sonically.

Great album! reminds me of 2004-2005 living in cincinnati going to xavier and hanging with my girlfriend and one of my best friends driving around clifton and northside!

Did not enjoy, i dig skylarking and drums and wires but this stirred nothing in me.

TBH started off strong. To me i loved the beginning but it kinda turned it background generic rock to me to be honest. I dig the idea of a concept album. I think maybe i need to revisit it with more context. Mucho respect tho.

I feel like you are the ultimate music dork if you like this album. I love David and his writing is very touching but i think the songs themselves arent that interesting. Trying to think of the latest bowie album i actually enjoy. Scary monsters and Lets dance are probably the latest. One day i'll get into blackstar.

Obviously I cant listen to this dude anymore cause hes a horrible garbage human. Music sounds like a monster made it which now is kinda true. But it is way catchier than i imagine. If you ignore the person it is pretty cool. Also the phenomenon that this album was when it came out was incredible. I will never forget how sppoky and cool he seemed when this first came out, plus my parents hated it.

Honestly good, Really cool its a live concert i love that, i love the soft machine and i need to read up more about them. It reminds me of a freeform jazz concert where they are just jamming noodling no real song or direction, but then moments that are melodic and have form and enjoyable but for the most part you need to be entirely focused on the music for me to enjoy and its a bit exhausting.

I love pretty music, 3.5 stars... Would be 4 but im just not crazy about folk music...

I have a conflicted relationship with this artist. Some of his music cuts me to the core, whereas the other half, fades into the background. Overall i dig his rocksteady roots on his early albums. But my attention constantly wanes on this album and many of his other contriubutions.

Definitely the best of the unlistenable albums on this list. Joins the ranks of captain beefheart and throbbing gristle. But this one is much more enjoyable. I could be inspired by this album, maybe paint or draw to it or something. Lot of it sounds like Devo's bizarre demos, curious who is inspired by who.

So easy to listen to, power pop classic, will come back to over and over, got to see em in GGP! Hardly strictly for life!

Had to listen to it twice! So cool... Very proto... Sprawling, wandering, and engaging. Classically influential riffs. Ty Segall definitely picked up where this left off. As did mothers of invention. Very cool would play well at an art school party.

Honestly, my sissy loved this album in college and i think i pretended to like it. Honestly its pretty mid, i feel like most becks stuff has such a strong thematic sound but this one is just sleepytown go to bed music and it all blends together. Not in a bad way, just a boring mid way.

I mean where do i start this has to be my favorite zepp album tied with led zepp IV... Ramble on is my fav Zepp song for sure, whole lotta love is in my top ten, too much rad to put into words.

Had this in college, couldnt get into it... Maybe because i played my music on shuffle and never was ready for it... But holy crap this album has so much depth and would be so good for a sludgy bar in a swamp somewhere or a dirty college bar in a midwest town. I love it.

Honestly some of these albums have an ability to take u back to an epic microcosm of music in culture in history and this album 100percent does that. This takes u str8 backto 1992 and in the best way possible. i would put this album in any situation. too cool.

Really nostalgic album for me, takes me back to Columbus Ohio 2009 Era where i had just graduated college and was working and having fun. Great times.

I feel like i have to listen to a lot of these albums multiple times before i pass judgement lol. This album was popular with a friend of mine way back in 2003 and i never got into it. Listening to this the second time in 2 days i still cant but i really enjoy it when i focus on it!

I really dont even know where to begin. Grand pianos smash together when my boy walks down the street! Busby Berkeley dreams? Book of love? So many masterpiece songs, an album full of 1 hit wonders. Maybe the most impactful albums of my life. 10/5

To be honest I do like Kate Bush i think she is avant garde theatrical creative and cool. I am definitely more of a hounds of love Kate Bush fan, This was cool to listen to but i doubt i will buy the vinyl or revisit it.

I LOVE THIS album!!! A bit over my head, but after listening to it twice it really fits my vibe of 80s era city pop! But Brazilian! great production. Great voice and seems like she died young which is super sad! will definitely revisit and will definitely check out the rest of her catalog!

I really love these live recordings from the sixties. Reminds me of the recordings of Johnny Cash from Folsom. So welll recorded and mastered. From the first track to the last i feel so attentive to the record and hanging on his every word. With the music echoing in and out around his lyrics. Really incredible recording.

Amazing proto glam rock that clearly inspired 1000k musicians. Love hearing the slippery smooth stylings that inspired david bowie.

I honesly love this album they seem kinda lame and bro-y and all about chicks and getting laid. Im also certain based on the content of their songs they should have gotten cancelled at somepoint in their career but i cant stop listenting to that rodeo song.

Reminds me a lot of public enemy but i believe i prefer the dj and hooks to public enemy. I feel like Michael Franti has a much more informed pointed message than public enemy, more akin to gil scot heron. I do love the music and dj of this, but the message definitely is more the focus of this project.

You know i had Sparta's album from this same era and i loved it. I never bought this album and i never liked it. I think ATDI is obviosly the best together but i think this is the worser of the two independent projects.
