Boring. You can see why punk happened.

it's aged pretty badly and he relies on snoop...a lot.
not bad at all yet completely forgettable at the same time.
Not a chance I'm listening to this
Liked the drumming. The rest was too shouty and shite.

Very of it's time. Was half dreading it as the only previous time ive heard them was 'dylan and the dead' which is shite. Bit bland, but ripple is fantastic. Overall, i enjoyed it but wouldn't rush to fire on again. 6.7/10
was enjoying it (and love the title track) but it just seems to get samey as fuck and a overall seems self indulgent. Franz ferdinand owe them a few pints... 4.5/10
stone cold classic. The voice :adore: the arrangments :adore: 9.3/10. Minor points off for (probably) overfamiliarity and me not being fussy about a few of the original songs. A minor quibble.
was alright - can see how it's a grower and decent enough in the background. 3 saved to my music. average.
Shite. i've tried the walker brothers and his solo stuff a various times over the years and never got it. I always thought that one day i would. I don't. Can't seem to vote no stars...
A good racket. I enjoyed it without thinking I'll rush back to it or remembering any tracks in particular. 5.8/10
Muzak. Pish. Maybe, and I'm being generous, it was new and exciting in 1970 but it hasn't aged well. At all.
Thought it would be harder. Can see how it'd be great live but was a it non plussed. 4.5/10
patchy and not as good as i remember
enjoyed it - very of its time but what a laugh they're having. Not sure it'll go on again but i guess that's what this is all bout. 6/10
Bit underwhelming tbh. Couple of decent tracks. 3/10
I'm a big hip hop fan, and jeru has a revered reputation, but it's pretty shite. Decent beats at times but nothing grabs you. One for the purists... 2.5/10
had only ever heard the singles. Turns out theres a reason for that as the rest is pretty poor.
Some great, some gash, above average
bob released this when he was 22. twenty fuckin two and it has masters of war, blowing in the wind, girl from the north county and don't think twice. Some filler, granted, but easily 8.8/10. And it's probably only my 5th or 6th favourite dylan album.
proper druggy and decent - sometimes a bit wishy washy.
raw. and 25 seconds to go, at folsom, is just fuckin great. Couple of duds but just great. 8.7/10.
really good fun. only heard the singles at the time. Couple of duds but 7/10.
Mannish boy is class. The rest could have been one lo g song. Not for me at all.
exactly the kind of album i joined this for ...but didn't really like it. couldn't take to the vocals and although the musicianship is obviously good it all felt a but forced and earnest. hey ho. 2.5/10
Completely over indulgent. Few good tracks. Got bored as fuck.
What a great racket. Never heard em before and enjoyed it. Will listen again on the phones but enjoyed. 6.2/10
Dated, but a couple of cracking shagging songs. 3/10
Much as I hate to admit it, cause they are wankers, it's close to a masterpiece. 9/10
liked this. Sort of eccentric english folksy sound that just breezes by. 6/10
A blast. Bit samey after a bit but imagine the carnage in 57.
Shoehazing par excellence. 8/10
Stone cold classic. 9/10
was a fan when it came out and it has a timeless feel so has aged well. Can be samey, but that's fine. 8/10
Few duds but still a great listen. 8/10
Giving 2 stars due to ace of spades but the rest is shite. Take speed, play fast, talk pish. You'd think it'd work but it's boring as fuck. P
she's a brilliant song writer and a few absolute classics but a full album is a stretch at once. 7/10
pretty rugid - not helped by the kinda dirty production. I get the grunge influences, and i like some of her later stuff but this was just pretty....shite.
Loved it. Couple of shan tracks but mostly treat. A man, taking 4 years to get over the 60s and adjust.
couple of bangers and a few tracks i'd never picked up on before that i liked (factory girl) but i'm up and down with the stones. Not the classic they'd have yoiu belive but decent. 6.5/10
Very 80s, some filler, but it's got some stonewall classics. 7/10
i just don't click with new order at all - couple of ok songs. i think it's sumners vocals. who knows. A bit soulless.
A singles album really, with a mix of great and shite.
what a pleasure to listen to this through again. i think there's only 1 song i don't like but even then, just songwriting at it's best. 9/10
shite. 28 songs could combine to make about 3 half decent tunes - if you're lucky.
*shrugs* could be ace but i'm far from the gadge to judge. I did find it frustrating that once it hit a wee groove it quickly jumped away from it.
creepy as fuck album cover but good fun american rock album.
very low fi punk and good fun but fuck listening to the vocals for a full album. The odd song, at the right time, i'd enjoy.
dark as fuck, but really enjoyed that. will listen again.
nice, but not something i'd be in a hurry to go back to. i mind when it came out and it was refreshingly different but now it's a lot easier to find stuff like this...if you wanted to!
forgot how goods this was - really enjoyed it with only 1 or 2 weak tracks.
a wee bit wanky, but well intentioned. I'm not massive on funk as it borders self indulgent. everyday people though - yaas
an hour and a bit i'll never get back. self indulgent muso wank.
nice. not sure i like my music to be nice but there you go. Saved 3 tunes and love mama cass.
had it on in the background and did absolutely nothing for me. Bland, boring.
its a 5 every day of the week. Reminds me of being late teens, drugs, mates. Great.
bought this when it came out, loved it, and unfortunately it's aged really badly
false
influential, and a couple of good tunes but really pretty pish.
aye, this is class
raw as fuck, brutal, violent, misogynistic, fun - would like to see how it would go down if released now. Some drivel though. 6/10
great voice, and actually alright (was dreading this). Not in a hurry to listen again, but can see how it did so well. Syrupy production.
there's something that doesn't click eventhough i should like it. hey ho.
just dirgy - not that good. Seems like a kinda half punk / half rock thing that i don't get.
it's a classic, but there are a few week tracks.
nah, not for me. Lasted 8 songs. It's nice like, but just boring.
some obvious bangers and a few goodies i've not heard before. Some shite too mind. Solid 3.
bit shmaltzy and some excrutiating vocals. And few hits. So basically not up there with their best. 2
really quite shite. all sounds the same. like he got a casio keyboard for christmas.
loved this - just a really good racket!
couple of good tracks but quite samey and didn't really connect with the 'concept album' thing. 2.
total shite - lasted 4 songs. There's something really rubbish about self indulgent 9 min jams
some duffers but love the sound.
Perfect glass of wine and a bath album. Or, a comedown album back in the day.
Not one of my favourites by the boss but few standout tracks and the sound of a band having a great time.
I cannae really be that eloquent here, just shite.
enjoyed this - wee bit dated, but good tunes and tight band.
Kinda alright, I get that it was early mor countrified rock etc but not much sticks and it gets a bit meh.
not worth the reputation if you ask me. It's alright and parts were really good but a lot of it is just house band fare.
if anything sounds exactly what you think it will by the cover.... 60's country. Some good / some shite. 3
meh. Bird on a wire obviously class. the rest passes you by . think another 2 caught my attentions and i can't mind there names, This was half an hour ago. says it all. 3, just for bird.
8M people bought this. Like aural mogadon. Boring / bland meh 80s soul. even the hits are boring.
couple of great singles and some boring shite.
just not my thing at all.
pretty poor esp for him.
Fuck Clapton (did not listen)
Quite a decent racket
Average. Liked jet.
Just can't take to this. He gets on my tits. Nailed on to be a 'national treasure'
few decent tunes and quite liked the album but not much i'd go back for.
not bad at all yet completely forgettable at the same time.
enjoyed this - it gets a bit samey but really *nice*
decent 60's phycedelia - can't believe it sold 30m though!
half decent grungyish tunes with a few good tracks.
alright but a bit boring. Superb bass playing though, and bonus points for being short and sharp
quite nice, completely forgettable. meh. 2
enjoyed that - perfect cooking music i think. 4
not the classic its made out to be but obviously a few timeless tracks. 4.
some cracking tunes and overall enjoyed this. 3.
Hit and miss. Liked the heavy stuff. Bit long.
Really looked forward to this but it's dated badly. Love meths delivery tho.
a mix of sublime and shite - the rapping is woeful.
love this - still have cd in the car
just good beck fun and some nonsense. Like all his albums really. It's probably a 3.5 but voting 4 as better than some other 3's..
just an amazing live album. would be a 9/10 so 5 stars from me. bring it on home to me *adore*
Meh
Some great tracks. And Weller determined to do his own thing. Some shite too tbf.
the singles take me straight back to the 90s but that's probably where they belong. As an album listen its grating.
pretty groundbreaking in its day and a big leap from fight for your right. 4
decent - same as the other sonic youth one i did. passes you by a bit but
stevie at his best. 4 cause there is still some filler and i prefer innervisions..
enjoyed as an album with a few stand out tracks. Mad how this was out in the height of punk too.
I enjoyed this. Early grunge, good noise.
class. Just the control of his voice, the arrangements. like a vetriano picture - you can almost hear the raindrops...
arty shite
Some crackers, but a singles band really.
never heard of them / this. Really enjoted it and reminded me why i'm doing this! 4.
found myself slowly getting into this after dreading it. indulgent, but, given it was '71 who wasn't. 2.5
raw, pretty timeless, few duds but its a 4..
enjoyed this - had never heard of her but has a good trip hoppy feel and good vocals.
nice but completely forgettable like all those brasilla ones. 2.
Loved this and rabbit hole stuff for other things like it.
shite. I mean, it's revered as this groundbreaking US punk, but, it's still shite. and i like punk..
pretty boring and felt like they were going through the motions a bit.
not his best but emphasis that young is an albums person - they all have their own groove. 3.
Meh. One or two good tracks.
lasted 3 tracks. the shrill voice *shiver* shite
was expecting to like this more than i did. think they found their stride on the next album.
it's lovely, and heathen that i am, pretty forgettable too. i think you can appreciate it, without wanting to repeat it y'know
very good - shame about most of the interludes. 4
dated, naive, but pretty brave for its time and some catchy tunes. i won't go back but enjoyed. 3
bit samey but a good racket. And never heard em before which is always nice. 3
I cant get all of this album on Amazon. A first. Got chameleon and it was alright.
Enjoyed this. Dodgy 80s production and a couple of duds, but good stuff.
80s as fuck. She's got a good voice but not for me.
quite dark, quite good. How many sonic youth albums are on this thing....
Didn't click with this. Too clever, without the tunes..
easily a 4. Actually gets better after one. and the middle section is underrated genius. Big part of growing up too.
great stuff - good racket and actually tuneful unlike some early yank punk. 4
Lovely wee album
Like bbc2 have used this for programs for years. Soundtracky, does nothing for me. A muso thing
Only made it half way. Not for me.
couple of alright tracks but a bit earnest, a bit boring, and a bit dated. meh.
a great racket - muddy, raw, dark as fuck. 4
never heard of them and enjoyed it.
Definition of mor. Good singer like.
A good noise.
it takes a wee bit to get into, but the singles are fantastic and i love the stretch towards a more 'soul' sound. Tight playing too. 4
What. A . Voice
just not feeling it - totally hit and miss band for me. Shangrli la is a good tune though. 2
was really looking forward to this but its...a bit hot n miss. doesn't get good till tumblin dice and is patchy. 3
Never heard of him and thought neilson wrote everybody's talkin. Everyday is a school day. Really liked this
bit too muso for me with the usual queen bluster.
definitely a return to form, but not as good as critics say. Lots of cliched tripe, but come sublime stuff. 3
Nah. I like bjork but this is shite.
Not a chance I'm listening to this
thought i'd love it - didn't.
it's aged pretty badly and he relies on snoop...a lot.
superb. love the sound / voice / production. Couple of weaker tunes make it a 4.
bit dour but guess that's to be expected - 3 stars just for the forest alone though
it was different world. very 60's. Quite rubbish really but a couple of tunes. 2.
Enjoyed this. Had more depth that you think did dode.
Got bored. And it annoys me that to be underground / indy, they make these records that sound like they were recorded in a Wheely bin. 2
Boring as fuck
pretty rubbish 80's rock but jump is a classic
is this album just to show off the organ? i don't really get it. Aye, green onions is a tune, but the wedding band esqe covers? nah.
some belters and love her voice. 3
Just a great feel to it, and a few good songs. Would have been a 4 at the time but a 3 now.
boring. Just don't get the appeal.
really good racket
Shite
pacific state is a classic but bit dissapointed with some of it - aged i guess. 3
solid. bit dated, but a 4 all day.
Good crooning voice but doesn't stick. 2
Not on my music streamer. First time that's happened. Boo.
enjoyed most of this if a bit indulgent. gonna say 4.
great to relisten. Bought at the time. Stands up. 4.
more interesting that actually good. It's defo got a mood. 2.
Pure pop with more depth than you'd think. 3
started and thought - decent, but then it just sounded samey and then it just stopped. Meh.
some interesting stuff but not enough tunes. Bit all over the shop.
shite
a gem - a bit too earnest at points but some superbly crafted songs. 4.
lush strings and i can see how it was well received in 62, but it's a bit...boring now. 3
shite - managed 4 songs and just not for me. 1
Liked the drumming. The rest was too shouty and shite.
Makes you want to kill hippies. 1
prefer the acoustic side but pretty classic stuff
overblown pomp as usual - just don't feel them. 2
pretty average but like lanagans voice and some of the trippier songs. 3
good to listen to this as a full album. good stuff. 4
I song carrying a boring lot of other songs. 2
a weird one to review this. First half quite generic and shite. 2nd half really good. 3 overall i guess.
Not for me. Mor bland soft rock that passes you by. 1.
This was interesting but not great. 3
Great singles if a bit dated, some shite. I'm hindsight it sounds exactly what it was. A marketing album for adverts. 3
Braw.
love this - works really well as a full album. 4 (and close to a 5).
Overblown pomp
Got boring and was looking forward to it.
Not for me but some grooves. 2
Shite first half, and great second one you get to evry breathe. 3
5 all day long
There's a bit in the doors film where manzerik says 'bit like the byrds man' and it's not a complement. Jingle jangle boring. 2
Inoffensive, but pretty shite. 2
dark and brilliant - very close to a 5
Meh. 2
Pretty boring. 2
I know I should like costello but does absolutely nothing for me at all. 2
Lush
Not something I'll go back to, but superb voice.
remember liking this when it came out but its pretty poor for air. 2
Really close to a 5 but there's just something (probably Gillespie) that niggles away
one of wellers best
Different. Class.
2 weak tracks away from being a 5. But a solid 4!
belter! too long though - if he'd reigned it in a wee bit it'd be a 5
Derivative, clichéd, rip off, yet absolutely great.
Earnest, boring
Bit disappointing.
Achingly knowing and yet, pretty dull.
enjotyed this - MOR as fuck but great songwriting
kinda era defining - rapping is a bit dated but still love the rubin production
never realised she had such a good voice.
i mean, it's a classic but i can only give 4 as a couple of mediocre tracks (visions, jesus children).
average at the time, and average now - couple of good tunes, some filler, some shite
5. 2 weak tracks but seminal, raw as fuck, and just a fuckin blast
Not as good as it thinks it is
pretty cutting stuff for 73.
Not as good as folsom.
was inoffensive but almost offensively so - get me. 2. passed me by.
pretty groundbreaking for 83 and hard beats for the time. I think you just take run dmc for granted now and they are almost seen as a novelty but this proves they had steel. 4.
Pish.
The singles are exceptional, the rest a bit... Meh
Borderline unlistenable. 1
voice like butter - songs pretty naff. good version of fever though and such a night good fun.
hit and miss really. over-rated
Like the Lee mavers story and shame it wasn't up to his standard. Some of its forgettable tbf though
4. not as raw as def maybe - not quite as indulgent as be here now! ha. what a fuckin time though!
Not really my thing but there's a beauty to this. 3
Nice but boring
pretty boring. Jingle jangle. 2
couple of great singles, but some shite too
poppy as fuck and the pair of them finding their feet so a bit, eh, samey. 2
a woork of art. And a pleasure to listen to right through after probably 20 years. 5
Lacerating. Raw. Brutal. Too long. But fuck me.... 4
Had never heard of them. Probs won't listen again but perfectly nice 60s pop. 3
bit too muso for me but pleasant enough
sort of fun but not my thing. 2
Few great tracks and overall pretty listenable
they obviously sold out, made millions and there's a couple of poorer tracks but fuck me, the big hits are timeless
that good i even grew to love idiot wind.
better than doolittle but still a 3. in hindsight i'd rescore doolittle...
Inoffensive but completely forgettable
enjoyed that - bit all over the shop and a couple too long but good
Lasted 2 tracks. The genre is noise rock but to me it's just a fuckin noise. 1
Still fresh as fuck today (and relevant).
Couple of belters, but6 overall meh
Quite good. Ibraghs just so earnest and his voice so samey that you can o ly do a couple of tracks at a time. 3
A mixed bag and a bit indulgent but good
Pleasant enough but meh
Raw, angry, but doesn't flow and nowhere Near his best
Beats still fresh as fuck
did hee haw for me but was quite nice
i reckon it would be a grower and got better as it went on. 3
bit jazzy, but i lap him up and would be better if i was stoned.
Radge. Probably won't ever listen again but good fun
Alright. Rods voice is too. 3
Inoffensive very 60s but pretty bland
Not his best
Some belters. Some far too long. Not as hard as I was expecting.
Short sharp punchy and good in parts.
Dated badly. Shite
Boring. You can see why punk happened.
tight as fuck
some good hits, some utter shit.. also reading about it don't like how they ripped of their pal
can see the change in direction but you can tell they are feeling their way..2
a good racket! 3
it's a 4 all day. Found it over lockdown and it manages to be overtly political but pretty chilled at the same time
3 - love that he gave his band and pals writing credits
One of my favourite albums in my teens. Holds up pretty well.
completely forgettable american drivel.
Preferred the ambient aide
2
4. Voice in great nick and the songs he chose are mostly great. And, lets fuckin face it, any album with in the ghetto scores high...!
Blistering. 4
shakey tbf - 3
finding his feet
How high can a tremendous track elevate an average album? To a low 4 from a high 2 I think.
utter shite
3 - pretty samey but half decent
forgot how good
Boring
3. Bit aged. Good memories though!
Meh
just sort of passed me by though can't say anything bad either
had to look it up - they've sold 90M albums. 90 fuckin million. Sounds like generic cliched 70's soul. And the irony is that its them that did it originally and made it so ubiqiutos. radge. Still rubbish to listen to.
bit muso for me and doesn't do much
3 - would be a high 3 but he's done better. just finding his feet ion a very nice way...
pretty throwaway except maggot brain which is deep as fuck
the classics are still classics and the underplayed songs are that for a reason. As soon as it popped up i thought 5 all day but it's not...quite
4 - some absolute classics but it only just makes a 4 as a fair bit filler too.
4. one of the few albums from the 90s that i enjoyed more now.
muddled.
my fav led zep
bland
he has the odd tune but just can't shake the fact he's insufferable.
won't listen - fuck clapton
Groundbreaking but dated.
Not my cup of tea but you can appreciate the musicianship.
Weirdly can't get on the streaming service. Voted 3 bit still to listen.
Some shite but basically a history lesson
Killing moon and ocean drive make it a 4
shite
samey as fuck
4 - bit dated now but a perfect time and place album. For southerners though...
Stone cold classic
bit dissapointing
3 - must be much better live but a bit muddled
overblown, pompous, yet great. As a package with the film its a 5 but album alone is a 4
Quote enjoyed that. Eclectic. 3
2. Lots of filler.
can't believe its 20 years old - sounds fresh. And undoubtedly an epic but too long. 4
Muddy
one of my top ten albums of all time.
Big part of my youth but some of its shite.
Good but a bit miso and long
won't listen - fuck clapton
Couple of belters. Lot of shite.
ground breaking and fresh even now.
still has a rawness and naivety to it. 4.
Radge
Boring really
Sets the groundwork for what followed but as an album is not great to me
Shite rapper, good singer.
3 hit and miss
Always thought he's a dick but this is good.
i just can't get onboard with this prog rock shite at all. Muso at it's worst.
really good and you can see how so influencial.
of it's time
can't get album on streamer.
2 wah wah wah
4 - very good with only 1/2 jarring tracks
It's patchy as fuck but title track a classic.
A lot of filler. Karen O, owes Hyde a career like.
Not as self indulgent as I was expecting and a few decent tunes. 3
couldn't find on streamer. boo.
Quaint
pretty turgid
Not sure I'll ever listen again but enjoyed it. 4
indulgent as fuck and i can't just take to this. Appreciate this album is getting the brunt but there's whole swathes of indulgent english prog rocky shite from the late 60s to late 70s that i hate. God bless punk. Ha.
stone cold classic
badly produced, and dirgy. And not that good tbf.
apart from sweet emotion it's pretty shite. 2
nice but completely forgettable. 3
boring
Weird one. Sounds like a lot of singles, some great, some average and some fillers.
classic
gets a bit shite / derivative at the end but starts great.
it picks up a bit but just didn't feel it
muddy and pretty shite. 2
very lo fi and a bit...dull
some great (seriously!), some shite.
superb with a couple of fillers and the medley tunes are hit or miss.
second half is ace and unusually for me it kept my attentions for a blues record
nonsense but good fun
kinda finding his feet but some crackers
can see how it's influencial but it's disjointed - 3
Bit fuckin long
not into jazz but this is wild.
He's another I can't take too but is acclaimed. 2
As raw, hard and relevant as in 92
Not mad on the kraut stuff. 2
diminished a wee bit over time but still a 4
3 - too much talking, too much auto tune. underneath some tunes though.
2 - felt it was getting good and turned out it was onto another album. ha.
2
starts great, drops off markedly
2
bland - like advert music
interesting more than good but defo a 3
2.5 really
