Mogwai
5/5
“Cause music is bigger than words and wider than pictures.”
This was my submission, so it’s probably a bit obvious that I’m giving it five stars. If you can please listen to this album as it’s meant to be heard: loud as fuck.
Here is my reasoning behind why I submitted this album: I wanted my choice to be a Scottish band, and a band that didn’t have any albums on the original list. I chose Mogwai because I think post-rock is a little underrepresented on the original list. We had Sigur Rós, Tortoise, and Slint, but it feels like Mogwai and Godspeed You! Black Emperor are obvious omissions.
Young Team isn’t even my favorite Mogwai album; I would rank Come On Die Young and Happy Songs for Happy People above it. However, I think it’s their most important album, being their debut and their introduction to their quiet-loud dynamics and mesmerizing guitars. Hence, in my opinion it’s deserving of the list.
The standout song from this album for me is “Mogwai Fear Satan,” probably their most epic song. Also, “Like Herod” needs a special mention.
If you enjoyed this, please check out the rest of their music. Clearly, this is a biased view, but I don’t think they have a bad album.

Yoko Ono
1/5
I always thought breaking up the Beatles was Yoko Ono’s worst achievement. Then I listened to this album.

Talk Talk
5/5
I am getting to the point where I question why I’m continuing with the user list, then every so often I get a glaring omission from the list I hadn’t thought of, this talk talk album is one of these masterpieces that was ignored from the list and make this user list all the worth while.

Daft Punk
5/5
Yes my go to Daft Punk album, not a fan of live albums but I can make an exception for this one, just works so well!

Bright Eyes
4/5
It’s taken me a couple of weeks to get my head around this album.
On my first listen, the album didn’t immediately grab me, until the final track hit. Something about it just clicked, and suddenly I felt compelled to go back and hear the whole thing again.
On that second listen, it opened up for me in a big way. The mix of raw emotion and layered storytelling reminded me of a cross between Brand New and Black Country, New Road.
Now a few weeks on it’s firmly in my regular rotation, a great album that rewards patience and revisiting.

King Tubby
3/5
I agree with this being on the secondary list there wasn’t enough dub on the main list, I enjoyed this album but did just get a bit repetitive for me to add this to my frequent rotation.
Richard Dawson
2/5
This certainly is a unique album, but just really isn’t to my taste. Remove the vocals and you have a much better album in my opinion
Mogwai
5/5

Chromatics
4/5
Never heard of Chromatics before, but really enjoyed this, late night ambiance can see me coming back to this more.
Gotcha!
2/5
Sorry didn’t enjoy this one.
Neutral Milk Hotel
5/5
Even after completing the 1089 album, I never clicked this wasn’t in the book, it should have been absolute masterpiece.
Mustafa
4/5
Never heard of Mustafa before but James Blake is right up my street, so really enjoyed this short but sweet album, love his vocals, straight into my frequent rotation, great suggestion.
Ian McDonald
3/5
Really enjoyed some of this album, but it also got a bit tedious for my taste. Glad I listened but wouldn’t rush back.
Courteeners
4/5
One of the great UK 00’s indie albums, was very underrated at the time, but now it’s almost overrated in certain circles given the rerelease and
The push from the radio X crowd.
Still a good album that is already in my frequent rotation. So happy to see this today.
Koritni
3/5
This isn’t a bad album, but for something that comes out in 2009 it sounds too much like it’s 70’s influences to be anything that special in my view. If I’m going to listen to hard rock I’d rather listen to the classics than this.
Hikaru Utada
3/5
This isn’t my cup of tea, but I do agree with the sentiment that for all the world music on the list there isn’t enough J-Pop or K-Pop hence agree this is a fair submission.
The Decemberists
3/5
Enjoyed this good rock opera, like the different vocalist for different characters brings it to life more.
Pedro The Lion
3/5
Enjoyed this grunge concept album, only thing stopping me from adding this to my frequent rotation is the vocals get a bit wearing.
Freestylers
2/5
Didn’t hate this, but just got
A bit long and repetitive
Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera
4/5
Never heard of this group before but really enjoyed this one, great example of 60s rock.
Snarky Puppy
3/5
Enjoyed this, but got a feeling they are one of those bands who you need to see live to truly get.
Wussy
4/5
Really enjoyed this one.
INXS
4/5
A clear and obvious omission from the book, not a masterpiece but a great album up there with the best of 80’s rock, it just has so many stand out hits on it.
Vampire Weekend
4/5
I love Vampire Weekend, can’t believe they were missed off the original list. I would argue they are one of the best indie bands of the 2010’s. Though I would rank their debut over this album, and I consider Vampires in the city to be their masterpiece. But I’m sure everyone has their own option of what is VW’s best album which I think is a sign of a great band.
Madvillain
5/5
Yep a hip hop masterpiece that’s clearly missing from the original list.
Jóhann Jóhannsson
3/5
Enjoyed this, but just a bit long and repetitive for me to add to my frequent rotation.
100 gecs
1/5
Sorry even 25 mins of this was too much for me, the winey vocals did my head in.
Switchfoot
2/5
Sorry just feels like generic 00’s alt rock to me, nothing special. Didn’t hate this, but wouldn’t be recommending it to anyone.
Amon Düül II
3/5
Good psychedelic prog rock album, kinda lost interest half way through though. Good album but can’t see me coming back to it.
The Beautiful South
4/5
This was a massive album in the 90’s with some great hit songs. Not going to pretend this is the greatest album ever (it’s got a lot of filler), but surely it deserves to be on the original list.
Men I Trust
3/5
I liked this nice a chilled indie album, maybe jsut a bit chilled for me to ever remember it, but time will tell, a 3 for now.
Sufjan Stevens
4/5
Great indie album, Sufjan Stevens is already on the original list, but agree we could haves squeezed this album
In too.
Mary Chapin Carpenter
2/5
Think we had enough country pop on the initial list.
Cluster
2/5
Just too much synthesisers for my taste.
The Posies
4/5
Never listened to the posies before, I’m a fan of teenage fan club, so this music is right up my street, a great suggested album. Frustrating Spotify only seems
To have a 5 track version of the album available, but I enjoyed listening to their greatest hits after that.
Steven Wilson
2/5
The Upsetters
3/5
Enjoyed this, second dub album on this additional list, and would be happy for this to have been included on the main list.
Nuyorican Soul
3/5
Enjoyed this, chilled laid back dance album, not sure I’ll come back to it, but that might change over time.
Daniel Bélanger
3/5
No idea what he’s saying but enjoyed the vibes on this album, good addition to the list.
Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band
4/5
Great rock album, should 100% be on the original list, would happy replace one of the many Bruce Springsteen albums for it.
Earth, Wind & Fire
4/5
Yep there is room for two Earth, Wind and fire albums on the list, can make a good argument why this is actually their best album,
Procol Harum
3/5
I didn’t love this but can see why it should be on the list .
Godspeed You! Black Emperor
5/5
I’m a big post rock fan, (Mogwai was my pick) so this post rock masterpiece was always getting 5 stars. Really should be on the main list!
Debbie Gibson
2/5
I wasn’t aware of Debbie Gibson before today, so not sure why this is any better than the 80’s pop albums already on the list. My UK bias would have Kylie on ahead of this, but 80’s pop isn’t really my thing.
GAS
4/5
Not that I listened to loads of ambient music but this is up there with the best Iv heard, one to keep in my collection for the correct moment.
The B-52's
2/5
Sorry one b52’s album was enough for me.
My Chemical Romance
2/5
Sorry but I always hated MCR for some reason, even saw them live once supporting muse and my opinion didn’t change, can see why a lot of folk like them, and probably would hate my
Favourite band, but sorry can’t give this more than a 2.
Stromae
2/5
I try to spend my year avoiding Eurovision, so this just isn’t my cup of tea. My wife who loves Eurovision enjoyed it though.
John Mayer
3/5
Don’t think Iv intentionally ever listened to John Mayer before, to be honest this isn’t bad, reminds me a bit of van Morrison very easy listening, just not an album I’ll ever rush back to due to my personal taste.
Hombres G
4/5
This album is a lot cooler than the cover suggests, really enjoyed it.
Kano
3/5
Iv watched top boy, so I know Kano as Sully, but Iv never actually listened to his music before, I’m not a massive fan of grime. But I can tolerate this, enjoyed the electro beats more than the lyrics though.
Extrechinato y Tu
3/5
Yeah this is a really good rock album, worth a listen.
Porter Robinson
4/5
Really enjoyed this
Amadou & Mariam
2/5
Meh
Alex Cameron
5/5
Never heard of Alex Cameron before, but absolutely loved this. Brilliantly quirky lyrics with 80’s happy sound. Probably one of my favourite albums Iv come across on the new list so far.
Susanne Sundfør
3/5
Good album, but don’t know something was missing for me to add it to my frequent rotation, maybe needs a
Couple more listens.
Bruce Springsteen
2/5
I do like Bruce Springsteen but there is already enough of him on the original list, and I’m not a fan of live albums, so this one is a miss for me.
The War On Drugs
5/5
Top modern Dad rock group, 100% should be on the list. I’m really into war on drugs so this is a biased 5.
LaBelle
3/5
Classic disco album
Should have been in the original list.
Touché Amoré
3/5
Soild hardcore album, just not sure if rush back to it.
The Postal Service
3/5
Yeah enjoyed this, not a massive Death Cab for a Cutie fan, so the vocals are not my favourite, but this is enjoyable enough I think it deserves to be on the list.
Garmarna
3/5
Interesting Swedish folk album,
Jimmy Eat World
5/5
One of the best albums, bands from
The genre at the time, think this has aged better than the others too. One of my wife’s all time favourites too, so is played frequently in our house still.
Arthur Russell
2/5
Not for me this one jsut seemed to go on and on without going anywhere.
Maldita Vecindad Y Los Hijos Del 5to. Patio
4/5
Mexican punk rock, yes please.
Scraping Foetus off the Wheel
2/5
The vocals on this one just put me off too much to enjoy or recommend
The Weeknd
3/5
Not really a fan of the weeknd, but can’t not argue how big this album was in 2020.
Adam Green
3/5
Didn’t mind this, lyrics jumped between funny and cringey crass. Was worth a listen but can’t say I’ll rush back to the album.
Frank Zappa
4/5
Another strange but great Zappa album, think we could make room for this one on the orginal list.
Ty Segall
3/5
Enjoyed this, but just not sure enough to
Come back to.
Crash Test Dummies
4/5
Yeah really enjoyed this, bit of a blast from the past, bur really good alt rock album now added back to my frequent rotation.
Korn
3/5
My view is korn shouldn’t have more than 1 album on the list, problem being this album is probably better than follow the leader, so I’d probably swap them about.
Biffy Clyro
4/5
My wife’s favourite band, so Iv always had a bit of a strange relationship with Biffy Clyro, they are far too overplayed in my house, but probably under appreciated in the real world.
I do think Puzzle is the last good album before they went too mainstream with their sound. My favourite album is infinite land, where my wife is still obsessed with blackened sky. This is obviously more accessible than both of these, but still edgy enough to be better than only revolutions. But if you were to ask me what album someone who’s never listened to biffy should start with it would probably be this one.
5/5
Absolutely beautiful album, I love Low and this is probably my favourite album of theirs. Easy 5 stars, thanks to whoever added this one.
The Marcus King Band
4/5
Im familiar with some of Marcus kings songs and am I fan, so really enjoyed this album, my sort of music.
MF DOOM
3/5
Great Hip Hop album I agree should be on the list, but personally I don’t think it’s in the same league as madvillainy
Chet Baker
4/5
Great Jazz album up there with the best jazz albums on the original list.
Phish
2/5
I’ll accept a Phish album on the list, but not a 2 hour live album. Not sure if this suggestion is some sort of sick joke.
Haley Heynderickx
4/5
Have not heard of Haley Hendrickx before but I was immediately drawn in by her beautiful voice, such a nice modern album,
Added to my frequent rotation
4/5
Yes great album better than the Eels album that is on the list,
Robyn Hitchcock
2/5
Just didn’t do anything for me
Primus
2/5
It’s taken me over a week to properly get into this album, and I think that’s a sign it’s just not for me, sorry I tried.
Café Tacvba
3/5
Didn’t enjoy this as some of the other Mexican rock albums on this additional list, but I still see it having a place on the orginal list.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong
3/5
Good fun live album, would I come back to it, probably not, some of the Jams are just a bit long for my taste.
Screaming Females
4/5
Really enjoyed this, proper female punk vibes.
Jellyfish
4/5
One of the great 90’s albums, should really be on the original list.
Bloc Party
5/5
Easy 5 stars one of my favourite 00’s indie albums and bands. Probably one of my favourite live performances when I seen bloc party back in 2006.
I still think they are such an underrated band, probably not helped by the fact they never surpassed this debut album, and the UK indie scene at the time became so bloated with rubbish music.
Damien Rice
5/5
How is this not in the orginal list but David Grey was! Absolutely beautiful album, easy 5 stars.
Protomartyr
3/5
Brooding dark post punk, enjoyed this but not sure I fully clicked with it to come back, the vocals though very post punk just a little off putting.
Arctic Monkeys
4/5
I can see why this is added to the list, but personally it would be my 5th maybe even 6th after the Car now, favourite Arctic Monkeys album. But I do agree it’s an important album for them, and should be on the list for that reason alone.
I don’t agree with the hate it gets from Arctic monkeys fans complaining they don’t make music like what ever people say I am any more. The same people probably also moan that all Catfish and the Bottlemens albums sound the same.. but also I don’t think this is a masterpiece that die hard fans of the album make out to be.
I admire they took and risk and tried something different. Overall I would give this 3 stars, but the temptation to give it four stars out of five was just too much.
Id say that’s unheard of, but I won’t be the first or the last to make this joke…..
First Aid Kit
4/5
Great modern folk album, should definitely be on the list.
They Might Be Giants
2/5
Maybe I’m missing something, but this just felt like very average alt rock to me.
The Lumineers
4/5
I really enjoyed this album when it came out in 2016, not sure if Iv listened to it since, enjoyed coming back to it today, good choice.
Thee Oh Sees
4/5
Big MC5 kick out the Jams vibes on this album, given that’s my all time favourite live album, that’s a massive positive in my book, not a massive fan of live albums in general but this one ticks all the boxes, immediately added to my frequent rotation.
Pink Floyd
4/5
Pink Floyd’s underrated album, I actually prefer this over the wall, but would stick it behind DSOTM and what you were here. Worth place on the list, but just behind their masterpiece albums,
Jai Paul
4/5
Never heard of Jai Paul before and wasn’t expecting much from the album cover name or description. But this one really did blow me away. Really enjoyed it and straight into my frequent rotation, it’s only downfall is it’s not a real album, so can’t quite see it as a full masterpiece.
Graham Parker
3/5
Big elvis Costello vibes on this one, this is more like his better albums so I’d happy replace one of his poorer efforts on the list for this.
Status Quo
3/5
Enjoyed this, very underrated British rock band.
Nik Kershaw
2/5
A very average 80’s album, I thought they were enough of those on the original list.
Avicii
2/5
Was massive at the time, and a huge influence on modern day music, but not a good influence in my opinion really so find Avicii annoying. Shame what happened mind you.
The Sound
3/5
Really enjoyed this, top 80s post punk, should be on the original list.
Salif Keita
5/5
Yes, west African jazz, the list could be improved so much with more diversity like this. Beautiful music.
TOOL
5/5
This really is a metal masterpiece that deserves its place on the original list.
Streetlight Manifesto
3/5
When I was 14 Less than Jake were one of
My favourite bands, Iv never heard of this group before but the music reminded me of what I liked in my younger days. Good accessible ska punk, enjoyed this would I come back to it, probably not now my tastes have changed.
Jeff Rosenstock
2/5
This album was good fun to begin then started to grate on me.
Cardiacs
2/5
All just felt a bit chaotic, maybe jsut wasn’t in the mood for this today. I’m sure if I gave this time I might learn to love it.
Freddie Gibbs
3/5
Enjoyed this, proper good hip hop, would I come back to it, not sure
Bad Religion
4/5
Was a fan of bad religion when I was 14, I had the album the process of belief, which I played a lot, great punk rock band that should be on the original list.
The National
5/5
Probably my favourite National album, delighted to see it on this list, and there is clearly room for two albums from them on the main list.
Josh Ritter
4/5
Never heard of Josh Ritter before, but this is a great example of a singer songwriter album, good choice.
Gang of Youths
5/5
Easy to rate these albums when they are already one of your favourites from the last 10 years, modern day masterpiece.
Savages
3/5
Enjoyed this.
Chucklehead
4/5
Based on the album cover I wasn’t expecting this to be as funky, really enjoyed, good to find hidden gems like this on the user list,
Joe Cocker
3/5
Not a fan of live albums, but we needed some Joe cocker on the original list.
Dave Matthews Band
3/5
One of those bands that should have been on the original list, not a massive fan but can’t say this isn’t good music.
blink-182
3/5
I was a big fan of Blinks 182 and their earlier albums as a teenager, Cheshire cat, dude range and Enema of the state.
By the time this album came out my view of them was waining. Therefore I don’t think this album should be on the list, and this version of pop punk really hasn’t aged well, I don’t listen to it apart from
Nostalgia feelings, But I can make an argument for blink being on the list, so 3 stars for blink overall.
Teenage Fanclub
5/5
Love teenage fan club and this album. I think overall do prefer Bandwangesqu but this is a close second.
Fontaines D.C.
3/5
I agree fontaines D.C. should be on the list, and I appreciate their music, but personally the vocals especially on this album just grates on me, I can’t seem to add them to my frequent rotation.
Shania Twain
3/5
Classic 90’s pop album everyone’s mum
Had, should be included on the list.
Ani DiFranco
3/5
Good 90’s female singer song writer album,
Valerie June
4/5
Loved this, great example of a modern retro album, great voice. Thanks to whoever submitted this album it’s going straight into my frequent rotation and I’ll be listening to further Valerie June albums,
The Hold Steady
3/5
Good alt rock record.
THE SPORTS
3/5
Good fun pop rock record
John Martyn
2/5
I really enjoyed soild air, but found this one a bit dull.
Killswitch Engage
4/5
My school mates were massive KSE fans, I wasn’t hugely into them at the time, but did tag along to a few gigs. Good example of metal for the era. I do prefer Jesse over Howard, and my last serenade would be my favourite KSE song. So although not in my frequent rotation I’d have to give this 4 stars.
Jimmy Buffett
2/5
Meh not my cup of tea.
Louis Armstrong
4/5
More a collection of songs rather than an album, but Armstrong is such a huge influence on music how is he
Billy Squier
4/5
Yes some good old classic hard rock, how is this not on the original list!
The Amazing Devil
4/5
Very dramatic indie folk album, I did enjoy it even though it comes across as pretentious posh theatre kids at times. Overall I think this is Good choice for an album selection.
Chappell Roan
4/5
Great example of modern pop that’s actually good.
Death Cab for Cutie
4/5
Classic album from the era, should have been on the original list.
The Chats
4/5
Great example of a modern punk album, no messing about.
Angelo De Augustine
2/5
Found this one a little dull.
Faith No More
2/5
Nope not for me. Feels like it’s proto nu metal which isn’t a good thing
The Avett Brothers
2/5
Dull modern folk rock, didn’t really have an impact on me.
Les sheriff
3/5
Great example of French punk, my only gripe is it’s a bit long, I lost interest by the end.
The Dear Hunter
3/5
This is a really great album and tells a good story, but just isn’t my cup of tea. Agree it deserves to make any list, but I’m personally not going to rush back to it.
Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass
5/5
Really enjoyed this, brilliant brass album should be added to the orginal list.
Charli xcx
3/5
This album has been so hyped up this year, but this is my first time listening to it, I agree it should be added to the list, but it’s not really my personal taste in music, so doubt I’ll come back to it, but glad I took the time to finally listen to it.
Operation Ivy
3/5
Good old classic punk rock,
Marillion
3/5
Found I loved parts of this album, while
Other songs were a bit meh, a real hit and miss one for me. Probably just enough hits for me to give it a 3
TOOL
3/5
I prefer the other tool album to those one, but can always make room for this one on the list too.
Yeasayer
4/5
Really enjoyed this, never heard of them
Before, but great example of modern experimental rock that is also easy listening, added to my rotation.
Tally Hall
3/5
Interesting album started off enjoying this but then got a bit irritated by it.
Boy Azooga
4/5
Enjoyed this
Gurrumul
3/5
Interesting album one that deserves its place on the orginal list, just not sure it’s the sort of thing I’ll ever come back to.
Tame Impala
5/5
Modern day masterpiece.
Childish Gambino
5/5
Never actually intentionally listened to Childish Gambino before, wasn’t was I was expecting completely blown away by this album. Superb 👌🏼
Childish Gambino
3/5
From never listening to Childish Gambino to getting two of his albums in a row. I preferred awaken my love over this one. But this clearly also merits a place
On the list.
Calibro 35
3/5
Found this grovey and cool, but just got a bit repetitive come the end. Worthy of its place on the list, but won’t rush back.
The Mountain Goats
3/5
Enjoyed this, but not sure I’ll come back to it.
Anaïs Mitchell
4/5
Really enjoyed this, good folk album. Liked the duets with veron
Sampha
4/5
Big fan of Samphas debut, not sure why Iv not listened to this one before, it’s also very good.
Jack Johnson
3/5
One of those albums so overplayed and owned by everyone at the time, but looking back it hasn’t aged too badly. Deserves its place on this list.
Joan As Police Woman
4/5
Never heard of this before, but lovely little pop record added to my rotation.
Bon Iver
3/5
Not my favourite Bon Iver album, but still different enough and interesting enough to be considered for this list.
Roky Erickson
3/5
Enjoyed this good old no thrills classic rock, reminded me a bit of the stones.
Carly Rae Jepsen
3/5
Better than I expected, having only heard the singles, decent modern pop album.
Sparks
3/5
Good fun album, should have been on the orginal list.
Amyl and The Sniffers
4/5
Heard of this band a few times, but this is my first time listening, proper modern punk band, helped with a great female vocalist. Great addition to the list.
Slowdive
4/5
One of the best shoegaze albums
Out there. How is this not on the orginal list?
The Tragically Hip
4/5
Enjoyed this, reminded of REM which is a good thing, add t my frequent rotation.
That Handsome Devil
3/5
Enjoyed this very different mix of rock jazz and hip hop, got a bit strange as it went on, might come back to it, but not totally convinced yet.
Joe Jackson
3/5
Classic new wave album, should have been on the original list, surely room for this over one of the Elvis Costello albums.
The Jesus Lizard
3/5
Interesting noise rock album, enjoyed this but didn’t love it, might grow more over time .
Transvision Vamp
3/5
Good female punk new wave style 80’s album, enjoyed this one too,
Alexisonfire
5/5
One of my favourite bands from 2004 to 2008 seen them live 3 times, know this album off by heart. So good and I don’t come back to it enough these days now my tastes have changed. Thank you to who ever added this! It made my morning.
Karnivool
3/5
Really good modern prog metal album, not my cup of tea but can help but respect the complexity of the music on show here.
Avenged Sevenfold
2/5
Used to be a fan of avenged sevenfold when I was a teenager, listening back now the vocals just go right through me. Can see why this isn’t a band from my youth I revisit often. This album is a bit all over the place.
HELLYEAH
2/5
Full on 00’s metal supergroup we really didn’t need. I’d accept a Mudvayne or Pantera album, but we don’t need this.
The Tragically Hip
4/5
My second tragically hip album from this list, think I actually prefer this one, very good 90’s alt rock, straight into my frequent rotation.
Stars
4/5
Great indie album right up my street. Added to my frequent rotation.
3/5
Not really my cup of tea, feels a bit all over the place and. Chaotic, but clearly has had an influence o a lot fi the modern pop music today. So based on that probably merits its place on this list.
Roger Waters
3/5
Enjoyed this, maybe not as much as the classic pink Floyd album, but certainly earns its place on the list.
Wishbone Ash
3/5
Very 70’s classic rock, didn’t mind this, but also not one I’ll rush back to, I’m sure it hit differently in the 70’s
Type O Negative
3/5
Good goth rock record, wouldn’t have minded this on the main list.
Mull Historical Society
4/5
Great almost forgotten Scottish indie album, wasn’t sure I was familiar with this band, unless watching Xanadu came on, I clearly never click who actually sang that song.
Harmonium
2/5
Meh
The Stooges
3/5
Love the stooges, not a fan of live albums, I think I struggle with this one as the sound quality is so low, I’m not sure the raw energy offsets that here. Obvious would be incredible to be there at the time but I don’t get it from this recording. I’d rather just listen to the studio albums.
But all that aside, the historical significance of this album and the eruption of punk following it, I can’t not give it at least 3 stars.
The Caretaker
2/5
Meh didn’t really get this one, found it very boring very quick.
Ornette Coleman
4/5
If you asked me what Jazz album is missing from the list I’d say this one. Even more ridiculous that spy vs spy is on the list. Saying that personally it’s not a jazz album I really connect with I find it a bit hard work and complex, I prefer the more accessible bebop jazz. But you can’t argue enough the importance of this album.
Marillion
3/5
Sounds a lot like 70’s Genesis, maybe a bit more accessible with the 80’s production. Wasn’t bad probably worth its place on the list.
CAKE
4/5
Enjoyed this one, never heard them before I don’t think but obviously recognised the covers. I liked their take on the songs. One I’ll hopefully come back to.
Weezer
4/5
Not a massive weezer fan, but can’t argue that this isn’t a huge power pop album and needs to be on the list.
blink-182
4/5
Wasn’t my favourite album at the time, (was dude ranch when I was 14) but looking back this is probably peak blink 182, when they improved there production and still had an edgy pop punk sound. They went downhill from here in my eyes.if I was to include 1 blink album on the
List it would have to be this one.
Oingo Boingo
3/5
Not a massive new wave fan, but this
One was good fun, think you could make room for it on the list.
Daft Punk
5/5
Yes my go to Daft Punk album, not a fan of live albums but I can make an exception for this one, just works so well!
Vulfpeck
3/5
A lot of live albums on this extra list, this is one of the better ones, really feel the energy in it. Will look into
More vulfpack
The Angelic Process
5/5
What a depressing wall of noise, I absolutely loved it!
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
5/5
Love this album, 100% their masterpiece.
I like King Gizzard and appreciate how they do things differently, but sometimes do wish they would slow down the album releases and bring out top quality albums like this one. But then maybe that would make them just like all the other bands so they should just keep being them.
Chris de Burgh
3/5
Yeah ok I’ll let Chris have one album on the list.
Kaizers Orchestra
3/5
Enjoyed this good indie rock album
Language barrier probably stop me coming back to it though.
Tori Amos
3/5
Enjoyed this maybe better than the Tori Amos album on the official list.
Death
3/5
Great example of a death metal album that’s actually good, deserves its place on the list.
The Burning Hell
2/5
Started ok but got a bit weird for me.
Interesting indie album.
Times New Viking
2/5
This one just didn’t click with me.
Modest Mouse
3/5
Soild indie Rick album, reminds me of the pixies
The Alan Parsons Project
3/5
The fall of house usher was a bit
Much, appreciated the rest of the album. I’d say it’s worthy of an inclusion on the list.
4/5
Never heard of Hum before and this was a pleasant surprise, right up my street in terms of guitar music. Added to my frequent rotation.
Shudder To Think
3/5
Not sure what to make of this, enjoyed parts, found the vocals a bit irritating. If it came out in 00’s would be a straight 2 stars, but feels this is a bit more impactful being 90’s. So 3 stars interesting enough to merit giving it a chance. Who knows might grow on me.
Margot & The Nuclear So And So's
3/5
Good indie album enjoyed this, not sure I’ll return to it though.
TOOL
3/5
Yeah ok I get it, we needed a TOOL album on the official list. But this is the 3rd tool album on the additional list, that’s more than enough TOOL thank you!
Bob Mould
3/5
Good alternative rock album, vocals maybe just become a bit stale after a while.
Nightwish
2/5
Sounds like a mix of computer game music and Evanescence. (Not a compliment)
Martha
4/5
Soild British indie album, right up my street but never heard of these guys before, think I’ll come back
To this one, good choice.
Arca
2/5
It was short at least.
Mylène Farmer
2/5
Meh
Khruangbin
4/5
Im a big fan of the texas sun and Texas moon albums, this one is also really good.
Daft Punk
5/5
On the original list I gave home work 5 stars on the basis this wasn’t on the list, so this one obviously needs the full five stars. Their masterpiece.
Boards of Canada
3/5
Worth its place on the list, but do find it a bit tiresome to come back to.
Kayo Dot
4/5
Really enjoyed this, such a diverse metal album spanning different styles and then jumping back to heavy parts. Great choice.
Sports Team
4/5
I had this album on repeat when it came out a few years ago. Really good example of the current U.K. indie revival.
Courtney Barnett
4/5
Really enjoyed this female indie album, love the album name and cover too, added to my frequent rotation.
Björk
4/5
I don’t think we need another Bjork album, but this is her best one, so let’s remove
All the other ones and just have this one please. I could live with that.
Songs: Ohia
2/5
Found this one a bit dull and boring.
Great Big Sea
2/5
Didn’t mind some of this, other parts just seems on the cheesey of Irish folk music, not for me.
Titus Andronicus
2/5
I think this whole process has made me realise I’m not a fan of lo-fi music.
The Vaccines
4/5
One of the best uk indie rock albums at the time, albeit wasn’t much competition during this period. Listening back now it has aged well. Not quite a masterpiece but Worthy of my frequent rotation.
4/5
There is definitely a much better representation of new music on this list vs the book, this being a great example of it.
Emicida
3/5
Enjoyed this, no idea what he’s rapping about mind you.
Bran Van 3000
2/5
Not for me sorry.
Olivia Rodrigo
3/5
Iv listen to sour before but not this one. I’d had thought the first album had more argument to be included in the list. This isn’t really my type of music, but can appreciate why it could be included in the list. It’s good pop guitar music.
Alexisonfire
4/5
Loved alexis when I was 16, I prefer watch out to their debut though.
Sunny Day Real Estate
3/5
Does sound a bit ahead of its time this one.
Guy Clark
1/5
I was sick of all the country albums on the original list, sorry this one didn’t have a chance.
Refused
5/5
Absolutely classic punk album should have been on the list and still sounds so good today, can’t believe I’m actually going to rate this higher than the shape of Jazz to come, but think that’s purely down to personal taste, and influence on my current music.
Talking Heads
5/5
One of the handful of albums that can change my opinion that live albums are not good. This has everything you want from a live album and still sounds so good, masterpiece.
Bon Iver
5/5
Can’t believe this wasn’t on the original list. Absolute masterpiece of an album.
Os Mundi
2/5
Meh
Rachel Stevens
2/5
Assume this is some sort of sick joke?
David Baerwald
2/5
I don’t think the music lives up to the
Album cover.
Jimmy Eat World
3/5
Clearly added by a jimmy eat world fan. Not a bad album but don’t think it’s in the same league as Bleed America. Hence I don’t think there is a place for this on the list. But I enjoyed it enough to give it a 3.
System Of A Down
4/5
A few albums keep popping up on this user list that I assumed this was on the original list. This is probably the best nu metal album (not got much competition mind you) but 100% should be on the list. 14 year old me absolutely loved it.
2/5
Maybe a sign I’m turning into a grumpy old man, but I really don’t get why the 1975 are so popular, even more so this week when they are headlining Glastonbury.
This album hasn’t help change my mind on them either, all I hear is a whiny pop band with guitars.
Sublime
3/5
Great examples of 90s ska punk.
Noname
3/5
The Diddy Bop probably has a very different meaning in 2025…
The Cure
5/5
Really wasn’t into the cure until recently, took me to get Disintegrated on the orginal list to full my appreciate them, their other albums didn’t click with me before that. But when this came out last year I was blown away, the soundscapes are beautiful. One of my favourite albums over the last year, maybe jumping the gun giving this a 5, but does feel like one of these best comeback albums in a long time.
Talk Talk
5/5
I am getting to the point where I question why I’m continuing with the user list, then every so often I get a glaring omission from the list I hadn’t thought of, this talk talk album is one of these masterpieces that was ignored from the list and make this user list all the worth while.
The 1975
2/5
Fuck sake heard enough of these guys this weekend.
Garbage
3/5
Soild 90s alt rock,
Igorrr
4/5
Got the shock of my life putting this on, thought I was listening to the Tyler creator album Igor, and was hit with a wall of screaming. This is good and very different to the list. Great suggestion.
Bon Iver
4/5
My second favourite Bon Iver album, after for Emma, it gets a bit too pretentious after this.
Fontaines D.C.
4/5
For years Iv thought DC fountains were a band I should really like but just couldn’t get into them. Think it was the vocals grated on me too much. This is the album that finally clicked with me though. I think it is more accessible than their previous work.
Crystal Castles
2/5
Just sounds like angry computer game music to me.
Ween
3/5
From the album cover I was expecting this to be some teen pop punk music from an American pie film. It was better than that.
Spose
2/5
Sorry not for me.
TOOL
2/5
Surely we have ran out of TOOL albums to add to this list now?
Johnny Winter
3/5
Soild 70’s blues rock record.
Screeching Weasel
4/5
Great punk rock record, never heard before but teenage me would have loved this.
Polvo
4/5
Great 90’s Alt rock record, one I’ll come back to.
Jason Isbell
2/5
Good album just not my cup of tea.
New Model Army
3/5
Good 80’s alt rock album.
Tosca
3/5
Cool chilled out vibes enjoyed this one.
Chloe x Halle
2/5
Pretty forgettable R&B album.
Ex-Easter Island Head
2/5
Na sorry this one just gave me a sore head.
Unwound
3/5
The Chameleons
4/5
Yes this is right up my street, gothic and moody, but also danceable. Reminds me a bit of the editors and white lies.
Manchester Orchestra
4/5
R.E.M.
3/5
I’m 50/50 if this is needed on the orginal list given all the other REM albums on their it’s a hard choice on which one to switch out for this one, but on its own merit it’s still a good album, so if it’s your personal favourite REM then fair play.
Portishead
3/5
Good album, but I prefer the ones of the list, still worthy of inclusion in its own right though.
Enter Shikari
4/5
I seen these guys back in 2005 at a tiny gig at the viewfield hotel in Arbroath, was one of my favourite gigs at that venue, it absolutely kicked off.
Loved their demos and didn’t mind this album but kinda lost interest in the band and the music shortly after. I don’t think this album holds up well today, But thank you to who ever added this for a nice personal trip up memory lane. 4 stars for the 2005 gig.
Dead Boys
4/5
Another great punk record from 1977.
Sufjan Stevens
3/5
Nice songs but just drifted into background music.
Yo La Tengo
3/5
Enjoyed this album, but just a bit of the long side I thought became a bit of a drag and seemed disjointed in parts. Glad I listened though.
Beyoncé
4/5
Got to agree this is Beyoncé’s best album. Not sure it’s a full 5 start masterpiece due to my personal music tastes, but it’s close.
Lady Gaga
3/5
I couldn’t avoid this album during my
2nd year of uni, constantly played in every club/pub/party we went to.
So was big but not really music I care for now.
The Breeders
4/5
Great 90’s alt rock record which is clearly missing from the original list. Up there with the pixies best albums, but just not quite a masterpiece in my eyes.
Al Stewart
3/5
Good 70’s album, worth a listen, but not sure I’d rate it higher than the other classics from the era.
Duncan Dhu
3/5
Enjoyed this, but no idea what they are singing about. Nice addition to the list.
Medeski, Martin & Wood
3/5
Interesting jazz fusion album, gives off good fund vibes, enjoyable listen, but not sure I’ll return to it.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor
5/5
Yes, arguably the greatest post rock album of all time I prefer this to their debut. I think this is a great add to the list, but I would as Mogwai Young team was my choice, so this is right up my street.
Backstreet Boys
2/5
Another album on the users list id file under, ‘is this a windup?’
The hits have become classic cheesey pop songs, rest of the album is inferior copies of the hits. Was a bit of a drag to be honest.
Electric Callboy
2/5
Techno metal, before this morning I didn’t realise such an album existed.
After listening to it, I’m not sure it should exist. Couple of interesting parts but the lyrics are very silly, and not much depth to the songs.
Psyche Origami
3/5
Soild hip hop album, great flow.
Rita Ora
2/5
It’s not the worst pop album Iv heard, but a strange choice all the same.
Magdalena Bay
3/5
Yes a great modern pop album, room for this one on the list.
Jon Batiste
4/5
Really enjoyed album, such a good vibe and flow to it. Added to my frequent rotation.
Vangelis
4/5
I have never actually seen blade runner, the original or the remake…
Allowing for that fact makes the fact this soundtrack even impressive to me. Movie scores are underrepresented on the list, so clearly room to add this one.
Frightened Rabbit
5/5
Frightened Rabbit were already on my shortlist to include, so I was delighted to see this album on the users list this morning.
Personally, I prefer Pedestrian Verse given its more polished sound, but The Midnight Organ Fight undoubtedly hits harder and arguable their more important album. It’s a tough listen these days, but such an important one.
Given what happened to Scott, I honestly can’t think of a band with a more poignant and heartbreaking song than Floating in the Forth.
It hits even harder for me, having friends and family who’ve sadly gone down the same tragic path.
That’s why this gets the full 5 stars from me — not just for the music, but for what it represents. And if anyone reading this is going through something similar to what Scott faced, please: reach out to your friends, your family — anyone.
You are loved more than you can possibly imagine.
John Coltrane
4/5
Great choice of an addition, is it as good as love supreme no, but very accessible jazz music so we can make room for it on the and my frequent rotation.
Lo Fidelity Allstars
3/5
Enjoyed this more than I was expecting too. Good album worthy of a place on the list.
Final Fantasy
3/5
Really enjoyed the violin but by the end of the album his vocals just grated on me. Somewhere between a 2 and a 3. It’s different enough for me to give it a 3.
Deltron 3030
3/5
Soild rap album
Cat System Corp.
3/5
Interesting album, worth a listen at least once,
Neil Cicierega
2/5
Given this was only on YouTube, I found it hard to listen and then adverts popping up in between songs, sometimes the adverts were not as annoying my as the samples themselves..
The Groundhogs
4/5
Never heard of this band before, but this sort of blues rock is right up my street. Straight into my frequent rotation.
ISIS
3/5
Enjoyed this post metal album, good music, not sure if I’ll come back to it though.
The Who
3/5
This ain’t a bad album, on its own hard to argue against, but I would rank Tommy over this. So hard to make an argument for another who album on the list, that being said I prefer this to the who sells out. So I would replace that album with this.
Sam Fender
4/5
This is actually my most listened to album this year since it game out, I think it’s brilliant album, but it’s maybe just too early to tell if it’s worth the full 5 stars, can easily give it 4 though.
Yellowcard
3/5
Classic emo album from the 00’s had this as a teenager, good to listen back but nostalgic reasons only, don’t think it’s held up well over time.
Kashmir
4/5
Enjoyed this. Clearly influenced by Radiohead which is obviously a good thing, impressive to get Bowie and reed on the album, added to my frequent rotation,
Bruce Hornsby
2/5
Maybe didn’t give this enough time, but just comes across as cheesy soft rock, not for me.
Ozzy Osbourne
3/5
Not a bad album stand alone, crazy train is a great song, but I wouldn’t replace any of the black sabbath albums for this, or listen to this over them. So I can’t find room for it on the list.
Reincidentes
3/5
No idea what they are singing about, but I got the vibe of a good fun Spanish punk music. Enjoyed this.
Harry Styles
2/5
This album isn’t as bad as you think it’s going to be. But that’s still a low bar.
Pearl Jam
3/5
This is a good album, stand alone I’d have it on the list, but it really isn’t in the same league as ten, so when I’m in the mood for pearl jam, that’s the album I’ll be going for.
of Montreal
3/5
Interesting but also average at times indie pop album. Can’t decided if I should give it one more listen or not before I give my final rating….
Deafheaven
2/5
I gave this a full week before listening again as I had a headache and wasn’t in the right frame of mind last week, coming back to this fresh I can feel my headache coming back.
Meh just couldn’t get past the vocals on this one.
Fall Out Boy
2/5
Sorry personal view but Iv never liked fall out boy and never will. Something about them and their music just grates on me.
If this what saves rock n roll deary me.
Boredoms
2/5
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
3/5
Frustrating that KG removed all their music from Spotify. Though don’t disagree with their actions just means I won’t bother listening it today and rate it on previous listened.
This is a good album within their discography, not one of my personal favourites, but with a band with so many records it’s hard to pick a top 5.
I sometimes do wonder if they would be better if they had a bit more focus on quality over quantity, but then their volume of output is what makes them stand out from the crowd.
Overall though there is definitely room for a few KG albums on this list.
Amália Rodrigues
3/5
Good and different, could make room for this on the list. Just no idea what she’s singing about, but not sure you need to, to appreciate the music.
Charly García
3/5
Really good Argentina rock music, could make room for this on the orginal list.
Barenaked Ladies
4/5
Barenaked ladies are a group Iv heard of but never really properly listened too. This is Good fun soft rock album, added to my frequent rotation.
Yoko Ono
1/5
I always thought breaking up the Beatles was Yoko Ono’s worst achievement. Then I listened to this album.
The Tragically Hip
3/5
Another tragically hip album, can’t really complain i like these guys. I’d find a way to squeeze it on the list.
Baroness
3/5
Really good hard rock album, just a bit on the long side for me to add to my frequent rotation.
Stray From The Path
4/5
Yes this metal core album slaps. A lot of similarities to RATM which is a good thing.
So much anger funnels into this but the music is still so tight. Metalcore really isn’t my scene anymore and hasn’t been for about 20 years but I think I might have to keep this in my rotation for days I was the release some stress. A lot of
The Heads
2/5
I clearly need a bit of Talking to enjoy Head.
Various Artists
3/5
I have never actually seen the rocky horror show, but still enjoyed listening to this, and I think the list could have a few more musical soundtracks on it.
Metric
4/5
Never listens to metric before, but enjoyed this, the sort of indie rock I listen to, so will be getting added to my frequent rotation.
"Weird Al" Yankovic
3/5
This is a clever, funny and silly covers album.
Do I think it should be on the orginal list? Nope.
Did I enjoy listening to it today? Yes I did.
3/5
Familiar with some of the songs on the album, good modern indie music, just suffers from being too long an album.
Michael Hurley
2/5
Not a bad album, just not my thing.
Paramore
2/5
I’m Just not a fan of paramore,
Bright Eyes
Dolly Parton
2/5
Sorry but one Dolly Parton was enough for me.
Dream Theater
2/5
Think this just sounds like dated over the top metal to me.
Denzel Curry
3/5
Decent modern hip/hop rap album.
Hamilton Leithauser
4/5
Really good indie album, one I’ll come back to.
Comus
2/5
Sorry this just isn’t my cup of tea.
Built To Spill
3/5
Soild 90’s indie rock, happy to see it on the list
Spinvis
2/5
Vampire Weekend
3/5
Another vampire weekend album, I love the band and this is a good album,I listened to it a lot last year but into as much this year, but I’m still picking vampires in the city or their debut over this one. So just the 3 stars from me for this specific album.
Future Islands
4/5
Great example modern synth pop album.
The Church
4/5
First time listening to church really enjoyed this. Solid choice, and added to my frequent rotation.
Depeche Mode
3/5
Stand alone this is a good album, but it just feels a bit flat vs their later entries and no way near the same league as violator.
Stand alone id include it in the list, but I’d argued the best of Depeche mode is already well represented.
Various Artists
2/5
David Allan Coe
2/5
Sorry heard enough country in the original list.
Chico Science
2/5
This was ok, but didn’t stand out as anything special. Maybe the langue barrier didn’t help.
Rodríguez
5/5
Love this album, first came across it after watching the sugar man documentary, masterpiece of a singer songwriter album, and very under rated within the uk anyway.
Modern Life Is War
2/5
Just a bit angry for my Monday morning commute
Ookla The Mok
2/5
What is these guys obsession with Monkeys all about.
Lift To Experience
2/5
Just dragged a bit for me. Good in points a mess in others
DARKSIDE
4/5
Really enjoyed this, one of the best electronic albums I’ve heard in a while, very atmospheric and layered. One I’ll keep coming back to.
Blackalicious
3/5
Very interesting hip hop album, would have this over a lot of the other hip hop on the list. Just runs a bit over my listening attention span to get 4 stars.
Black Devil Disco Club
4/5
Really enjoyed this mix of disco and electronic feels ahead of its time, added to my frequent rotation
Pink Floyd
3/5
This is a good live album, and stand alone worthy of the list, but I wouldn’t switch out any of their studio albums for it.
Q65
4/5
Right up my street this one, great 60’s blues/psychedelic rock added to my frequent rotation
Everything Everything
4/5
Great album, mix of modern but also 80’s influences. Great addition to the users list.
The Notwist
3/5
I found this album interesting but also forgettable at the same time, which sounds odd, but feels like an album you really have to pay attention with or it just drifts into the background. Either way I think it’s worthy of the list, just not sure if I’ll ever remember it to come back to.
Descendents
3/5
Shpongle
3/5
Robyn
5/5
Wow actually never clicked this wasn’t on the original list. Modern pop masterpiece. With Dancing on my own up there with the greatest songs of the 21st century.
Shihad
3/5
Soild heavy rock album
Nic Jones
2/5
Foxing
4/5
Really enjoyed this, my idea of modern rock, added to my frequent rotation.
Ornatos Violeta
2/5
Average rock album, probably not helped I couldn’t connect with the lyrics.
BABYMETAL
2/5
Odd generic metal album, didn’t do much for me sorry.
Tom Petty
4/5
Room for another Tom Petty album? I would make space for this one, great album.
Living Colour
3/5
STARSET
2/5
The sort of rock music that just does nothing for me.
Malibu
3/5
Good ambient EP
Quicksand
2/5
Matthew Good Band
2/5
Average 90’s rock, only a few songs on the album available on Spotify, based on these songs I have zero interest in trying to find the rest of the album.
Warren Zevon
4/5
Had a few bad albums in a row on the user list, so this was a nice surprise. Was familiar with the werewolves song, but the rest of the album is also great, good pick.
Brand New
5/5
When it came out I was a massive fan of Deja Entendu, and I had a soft spot for Your favourite weapon but I’d say this one hasn’t aged well.
Not sure I ever listened to this album before, come 2006 my music taste had moved away from pop/punk/emo music. Listening to this I’m blown away with how good it is, kicking myself for listening to this earlier I feel obliged to give it five stars now..
Tom Misch
5/5
Wow this album is superb. First time listening and an instant classic, loved the Jazz and flow and a nice surprise Loyle Carner popping up on water baby.
The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
3/5
Very odd and a bit all over the place, but that added to the allure. Worth its place on the list.
Agalloch
4/5
Yes loved this, wasn’t sure I would hearing the description, but the guitar layers and wall of sound is right up my street. Vocals not exactly my cup of tea, the only thing stopping me giving this a 5.
Glass Animals
3/5
I agree there is room on the list for glass animals. I just wouldn’t rave about it myself
Floating Points
5/5
Yes this is a brilliant album, loved it when it came out. Modern day masterpiece
Mac Miller
2/5
Makes me wonder if I’m trying harder with this album because it’s posthumous. It’s not a bad hip hop album, but really doesn’t draw me in.
Alabama 3
3/5
I was sure I had heard of this band before, then the theme tune to sopranos came and it all made sense.
Billy Strings
2/5
Blue grass just isn’t my cup of tea, therefore zero interest in a 2024 bluegrass album, that doesn’t nothing new for the genre.
Turnpike Troubadours
3/5
I really don’t like country, but for some reason this didn’t seem so bad and found myself bobing along to songs.
Bo Burnham
2/5
I remember the hype this got when it came
Out on Netflix. I couldn’t manage to watch the whole show, musical comedy just isn’t my thing. Listening back I got a few laughs to this, and white girls instagram is very funny. But it gets tiresome quick, so don’t think I’d have it on my list.
Savatage
3/5
Classic metal, can make more room for this on the list.
Powderfinger
3/5
Auri
3/5
Ween
3/5
Interesting and strange at times, overall good choice
Swans
4/5
I’m not sure why but this is the first album In the awhile where I’ve poured myself a whisky and sat in front of my proper hifi system to listen to on a Saturday night and wow I was blown away. The sound quality the building of tension absolutely brilliant completely sucked me in. My only complaint is 2 hours is far too long for an album.
The Brian Jonestown Massacre
4/5
90’s inspired stones music yes please.
Pop Will Eat Itself
2/5
Not for me.
Danny Brown
2/5
Gerry Cinnamon
4/5
I’ll admit it, Gerry Cinnamon is a bit of a guilty pleasure. His biggest hits ‘Belter’ and ‘Canter’ do my head in, but there are enough gems here, too catchy to ignore, that the album keeps sneaking into my rotation. Most likely due to my Scottish bias.
This isn’t a masterpiece but a personal favourite.
Weezer
3/5
I’m not a massive weezer, I accept the blue album is a huge omission from the list, after listening to this I agree there is space for 2 weezer albums. Clearly had a big impact on the emo music that was to be all the rage in the 00’s
BABYMETAL
2/5
Has someone actually completed the challenge twice so they could add two baby metal albums?
Cindy Lee
2/5
Crass
3/5
Good punk album worthy of the list.
Nujabes
3/5
Yeah enjoyed this,
Bohren & Der Club Of Gore
4/5
Wow really interesting jazz album, very atmospheric really enjoyed this one I’ll hopefully come back to.
Eric B. & Rakim
4/5
Jaco Pastorius
4/5
Love a bit of jazz and a good bass line. This guy seems the master of both.
Getatchew Mekurya
3/5
Great album just a shame I had to listen through youtube
Chuck Berry
5/5
Classic rock n roll from the master. 100% should have been on the original list.
Charles Aznavour
2/5
Bof
Wet Leg
4/5
Was a big fan of this album when it came out, my enthusiasm has waned a little more recently, probably given how much they were overplayed on the radio. But still a good example of modern indie music worthy of the list.
Turnstile
4/5
Yeah this is good modern hardcore music, not to my taste these days but deserves to be on the list and teenage me would love this.
Mr. Bungle
3/5
This is a crazy album, not one I will find myself rushing back to, but feel it has a place on the list somewhere.
