Popular Reviews

Group Sex by Circle Jerks

I remember this band from old Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games. I'm a fan of punk rock so this was a great album.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Feb 05 2022

Listened to this while riding a bike. "Sly" was a real nice tune, it actually synced to the high and low speed moments of the ride. It reminded of "Bixiga 70". It's probably a very historically important album, but I'd personally not write home about it.

Pink Flag by Wire
Feb 06 2022

Nice sound. This time I looked up some history about it, so I was better located while listening to it. I felt like listening to punk and post punk a bit more. I liked it but wasn't able to listen to the whole album before taking these notes.

The Band by The Band
Feb 07 2022

Reminds me of Grateful Dead... couldn't listen to it all but I'll surely give it a try again soon

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Feb 08 2022

Drake has a gloomy, yet joyful voice, and the songs of this album are great to listen while getting ready to start the day or while getting set to call it a day. I didn't pay much attention to the lyrics though. I'll probably check it out again sometime

Dear Science by TV On The Radio
Feb 09 2022

I've heard TV On The Radio before but I never really got into an album. This has been one of the best musical experiences for me so far in the album generator thing. The tracks are very different but mostly full of vocal experimentation and up-tempo rythms.

Feb 10 2022

This was the first album I've heard before so far. U2 is a great band, and this album has one of their greatest hits. It's a very comfortable listen for me, because it seems to me that after a while we always go back to the songs and bands we used to listen as teenagers, like eating your favorite chocolate bar because, besides the flavor, it brings nice memories.

The Gilded Palace Of Sin by The Flying Burrito Brothers
Feb 11 2022

It reminded me a lot of Brazilian Brega music, and I liked how the hillbily meets the hippie in some tracks, like "Wheels", and also gospel music influence in "Hippie Boy". Pretty nice, but I couldn't find the reason why it's in the 1001 list, just by listening to it. UPDATE: I checked its Wiki page out, now I see it better :)

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Feb 12 2022

I've heard Pet Shop Boys before. It's difficult not to feel a warmth in your heart with most of their songs. It's really a soung that represents the turning of the 60's, mostly in America... A piece of musical history, in my opinion. - An issue I've been having with 1001 is that there are only English-speaking bands and singers. I didn't check for this info but it seems that they're mostly American as well... Anyway, it's been a fun experience so far!

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Feb 13 2022
Tommy by The Who
Feb 14 2022

Hearing it right now. I like The Who, this album seems to be a masterpiece, but I just didn't have the time to dive deep into it today. Maybe I'll listen to it again in the future, in a less busy moment.

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Feb 15 2022

This record is great! It's a symbol of its period, with most of Run DMCs most known songs. The beatbox tracks are so cool! A must listen!

Group Sex by Circle Jerks
Feb 16 2022

I remember this band from old Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games. I'm a fan of punk rock so this was a great album.

The Poet by Bobby Womack
Feb 20 2022

A good R&B album, but I wouldn't consider it to be groundbreaking. Womack sings really well and I read in the 1001 album book that it marked the final years of the popularity of the genre. Quite good for listening while doing something else

I Am a Bird Now by Antony and the Johnsons
Feb 26 2022

Surely not an easy listen, but a must checking out.

25 by Adele
Mar 02 2022
Moondance by Van Morrison
Mar 03 2022

This is a great album I couldn't read while doing the email list, but found out about somewhere else. I love Morrison's singing and the album's good back to back
