AdeleStarts off upbeat, gets into boring slow jams, picks back up, slows down again, picks up, slows down it all sounds too clean, I'm sure grocery stores and outlet malls are happy this exists

Another Beatles album?
Dad rock! Can't wait to skim through this to confirm that it sucks! Look at that, it really does suck! I honestly wish you could just skip forward to the next album when trash like this pops up
YES!! An album I've been meaning to listen to! First up, Planet Claire, this build up is wild, sounds like some 60's SciFi soundtrack in the best way possible, and here comes your man on the vocals, sounds like a space robot, perfect for the song! 52 Girls, jangly pop sort of driving beat like all their songs, it works well for them, ladies on the vocals. Dance This Mess Around, a song that you can't really dance to that's about dances! Amazing work! Rock Lobster, CLASSIC!! Lava, more straightforward rock song, well at least for them, and it's still weird! There's a Moon in the Sky (Called the Moon), well that's the most B-52's song title I can think of, this is that out there stuff I expected from this band, a song about the moon and just shouting plants out, sign me up! Hero Worship, kind of just happening in the background, hardly noticed that the song changed, ooops! 6060-842, well they sing the title, wasn't expecting that! And they're saying it over and over, I really should have saw this coming! Has a new wave on acid feel musically. Downtown, I think this is a cover...the greatest cover ever! A great listen can get away from you and might be better mixed in with other songs.
The toilet, how scandalous! Singles still bang! Straight Shooter sounds familiar to me but I don't think I've ever heard it, I think this song is about drugs or woman! Got a Feelin is NOT a cover of the BEP song! I call your name is a little country...not much rock and roll. Lifeless cover of Do You Wanna Dance, or it's the original? Go where you whatever this is too repetitive. Spanish Harlem, banger of a song, trash version! Somebody Groovy... fucking seriously, groovy...Hey Girl, come fuck with me not that asshole, mans going for it! You Baby, another pimp anthem, this dude is trying!
It's the same song over and over again! The Garfunkel song is rough!
She's not for me
Very familiar with the two big singles off this, looking forward to hearing the rest. Sympathy bangs, sill. No Expectations a slow burning blues number that wants to explode but never does which actually works, nice piano on this. Dear Doctor, another blues track, very minimal, chugging along very "I'm hung over as shit" type of track. Parachute Woman, more upbeat blues track, I'm sensing a pattern. Jigsaw Puzzle, mid tempo blues, I dig the drumming, starting to sound all the same, a little less blues-y but still on brand, too long can't get through it lyrics kind of dumb! Street fighting Man still bangs! Prodigal Son, um...this is a blues cover I hope and I hope Mick isn't proud of this voice. Stray Cat Blues, gee what's this going to sound like? Play the blues punk! Liking the drums again, less blues than I thought strangely, kind of rips tbh, too long for a single at the time, should be better known, great song! Factory Girl, unexpected like us that a fiddle? Very basic guitar and fiddle? Cool. Salt of the Earth, nope, couldn't finish this
I still do not get this guy, that being said it was an enjoyable record
Speed King, feels familiar, like the organ. Bloodsucker, wasn't paying attention, boring. Child in Time, fake epic, another miss. Yeah songs too long, album is trash.
Stone cold classic
Halfway Home, such a great way to start an album, hits you right in the chest gets your ass moving! Crying, upbeat disco vibes not bad, not one I'd come back to. Dancing choose, like spitting lyrics, like the drive in the music and the hook, the HORNS! Stork & Owl, starts slowly, slow jam? Sounds like videogame music a little, skipped. Golden Age, another disco type vibe, that Bee Gees falsetto, kicks in and is a banger, I think this was a single! Family Tree, slow build, piano is slow then drops? Acapella? Not a fan of this really, to minimal but not in a good way. Red Dress, nice DFA vibes, like the Rapture and shit! Nice upbeat tune with fucked up lyrics! Love Dog, slow build again, touching on electronic music, never remembered that, going to be too long for me. Shout me Out, building again, not catching me like others, kind of like the drums, kicks IN!! THIS JOINT GOES!! DLZ, this is a slow burning banger! Lover's Day, cool track, nice way to end it.
Never heard of this artist or album, first song is epic! Has a Pink Floyd feel but with less of the experimentation, more of the straightforward parts of PF. Second track very Father John Misty type vibe, I like the ending. Song three, slow jam, I should listen to the lyrics more, I'm sure they're saying something. Song four, seriously this is Pink John Misty, with a touch of Lynard Skynyrd? Song five, back to FJM, boom cussing! Kind of reminds me of Gordon Lightfoot vocally a little. Song six, some swinging ragtime business! Song seven, the FJM stuff is distracting. Song eight, it's like a song Bowie would write and throw out, then hear the arrangement and be like, nope, still don't like it! Song nine, title is WILD, odd synth but I kind of like it, feels like a personal song, a bummer subject and yet it's really upbeat, man goes hard on this, unexpected n-word! Song ten, piano is back, FJM is back, maybe more Anthony and The Johnsons, getting into that range, this sounds both new and familiar! Song eleven, sparse piano jam into a nice build, cool little song. Song twelve, same as the others! Overall I can't get past all the things that it sounds like, too distracting, that being said, never heard this album or artist but feels like I have heard every song on this before, except track nine, that's a wild one!
Solid release, not my go to choice if I want to listen to reggae music. It's always nice to hear No Women No Cry in it's original form!
Hero Worship, kind of just happening in the background, hardly noticed that the song changed, ooops! 6060-842, well they sing the title, wasn't expecting that! A great listen can get away from you and might be better mixed in with other songs.
Fantastic compilation of their first two records, I actually own this and remember really enjoying it! It hits all the right notes and still sounds good! Nothing but back to back bangers! Hard to rate seeing as it's sort of a best of not an actual album.
Masterpiece! The foundation of all that is electronic and dance music today! A stone cold classic!
Big singles off this, some filler and the song May This Be Love sounds like all three guys are playing a different song at the same time! The version I'm listening to is the expanded version so more tracks than it should have so it's hard to rate, do you use the UK version, US or expanded version?
This album is FANTASTIC!! I'm blown away by how good it is...I have heard of this band but clearly never listened to them, my mistake! Really deserves a good sit down listen which I will do in the future, it really blindsided me! A few tracks are a little lacking so it's not perfect but it's damn good!
Nope
Noooooooooo! First song is 18 minutes long! Starts with birds and chimes? Prog is both good and way too self indulgent! I like ideas in the music but they need to be removed, shortened and made into more manageable songs! The sing chanting doesn't help! All the playing is too notch, just nerds that wouldn't stop until they were perfect players! Oh it's supposed to sound like a bunch of songs it's like part 1,2,3 or whatever! 18 minutes later...still not sold on prog but I didn't turn it off! Oh track 2 is only 10 minutes and I've heard this before! Still can't get into the voice!
Absolute classic
It sounds too much like a hundred other ladies with a guitar and microphone
Feels a little bit dated but would love to hear it again and explore more of his catalog
The hits still bang but it's hard to separate the art from the artist
This Beatles album is ok but they have better ones. FIVE STARS BABY, THE DEL SAMPLE!!! I like the first song and the last one! Everything in between is ok to trash! Kind of gives Grateful Dead vibes but if they didn't go further than like 3 minute pop songs, all the Dead without the drugs! Also heavy Beatles energy!
Absolute CLASSIC!! My ears are ready to BLEED!!
I appreciate it, I just don't get it
Very familiar with the singles looking forward to the rest!
LoL I'm familiar with this, is 5 really enough? This was released at the most ideal time in my life and I've lived with this for what seems like forever so I can't give it less than 5!!
Oh what to do about the Morrissey of it all? Love this album and think 5 stars right away but then I remember that Morrissey is a thing, this is always tough, separating the art from the artist. In the end this record is too good not to rate a 5, but fuck Morrissey!
Oh dear lord don't make me do this! The End is still a banger, the singles are just too played out!
This sounds dated, I wanted to like it but I can't get there!
This is a lost gem for me! I've heard of this band but only really their big single and that one album! Mark Lanegan is amazing, should get a lot more shine than he did! Very solid rock record that breaks out of the grunge label
Never been a fan of Jay Z after listening to this my opinion hasn't changed, dude is corny! Beats sound dated, very 2000's, rap music is wild, it really was of its time! It doesn't help I wasn't all that interested in rap music at this time, kind of outgrew it by the time Jay Z was a big deal. KRS ALREADY MADE THE BLUEPRINT STUPID
What more can be said about this that hasn't already been said, a perfect record, a modern classic that actually deserves to be called that!
Starts off upbeat, gets into boring slow jams, picks back up, slows down again, picks up, slows down it all sounds too clean, I'm sure grocery stores and outlet malls are happy this exists
It's ok, more glam than punk
Stone cold classic! I still remember when I got this cassette and EVERYONE wanted a dub of this!
I recently revisited this album and really enjoyed it! Looking forward to listening to it again! Love that it starts off with a mixture of so many sounds! Really great way to introduce your band and their sound! I thought Brimful of Asha was a massive pop hit but I don't think that's the case! Perception plays a big part of reviewing these albums! Love the instrumental interludes! Overall this record has a lot going on and it all works really well together!
All sounds the same!
Starts with 3 BANGERS! This Nirvana demo is dope! He's really trying to find himself and his sound, it's a solid record and a sign of what's to come but feels more like a demo than a complete album. More like an EP with lots of filler
Know the name more than the music! Taking me back with the sound of the 90's! Enjoying it for what it is, don't think it's really a standout from everything else out at the time. I like Into The Drink, Fuzz Gun '91, Pokin' Around and Check Out Time. Not mindblowing, it's a fine record.
Thundercat always delivers, solid record
Fuck the Byrds! Transmitting live from Mars!
I'm familiar with The Cure but I'm not that familiar with this record! I really enjoyed it! I was surprised at how much it was an instrumental heavy record, I expected more Robert Smith and it took until the last half of the album for him to really show out! Great record, love all the build up and the music is beautiful!
Hip Hop classic!
Hillbilly nonsense
Horny horn time!! That introduction was too long but the first real track is a banger! More of this please! YES! Shit just goes! Dump that boring intro and bring that heat! Horny horns and smooth crooning, hell yeah brother! Peter motherfucking Cetera in the building! Some ripping guitar!
Finally, a soundtrack for taking drugs!!
Perfect record! Easy 5/5 probably a little low!
What is this? Only familiar with one song and the rest are kind of ok, not sure this is my thing.
Better than I expected, hard to take a song about staying off your feet or at least taking care of your feet, seriously what the hell is this? Yes guys eat Rhymes with feet, brilliant! Ok Student Demonstration Time is kind of missing a better singer and lyrics but has a very Greatful Dead vibe, I'd rather be listening to the Dead. Stick to surfing my dudes
Feels dated, it's fine but nothing mindblowing
I don't think I'm going to enjoy this!
LoL fuck Steely Dan! Minus 5 stars!
More than just the two big singles this album is so dope! The musicianship is outstanding, Shock G was a beast and really underrated, they were hip hops answer to Parliament Funkadelic!
Kind of boring, I'm sure if I was listening a little harder I'd get the message but I just don't care
She has a Lovely voice and I'm not familiar enough with vocal Jazz but I really enjoyed this
This is my favorite Vampire Weekend album! I enjoy this album more now than I did when I first heard it. Feels like a very adult album with adult themes and banging ass African music!
Oh Lorde Randy Marsh did it again!
The Beach Boys have one amazing record and this ain't it! This is the second album by them and I don't get the appeal. This does have that joint from Alf on it so it's not all that bad!
Maybe I'm just not a Fugazi person, this is ok but I'm not excited about it, don't want to rewind any songs or search this out!
Perfect
Like that one song and the rest is cool too
Love it! This is like going to a dive bar and seeing the greatest show you've ever seen and wondering how this is happening here and why can't I stay here for the rest of my life! Witty poetry from a master of words I can't get enough of these stories and songs!
Another awesome album I'm very familiar with, it's been a while so looking forward to hearing it again!
Cowboy shit
Fine live record but it's nothing special no idea why this is here
More cowboy shit
Very 90's! The singles are just too massive and it sort of takes away from the rest of the record. I feel like they got better on each album after this, probably their most popular album and far from their best but still really good.
Probably their best record an easy 5 stars
Beautiful album, a little to low energy for my liking although if the mood strikes I'd reach for it again.
LoL nope! Should have left these dudes in the 70's where they belong! Stupid Rick Rubin
Solid followup to a classic! Really enjoying the production and lyrics on this, they all took a step forward on this album
Oh hell yeah! Love love LOVE CAN!! This record is one of my personal favorites! Love all the builds and the drumming is phenomenal! Fantastic guitar work as well on this album.
Jesus, this is a slog! Old Bruce crying into a microphone while doing something with the guitar, what a joy he brought upon the world by putting out these shitty demo's!
My favorite album to sing along with!
Dad rock! Can't wait to skim through this to confirm that it sucks! Look at that, it really does suck! I honestly wish you could just skip forward to the next album when trash like this pops up
Everyone fucking everyone: the soundtrack! I feel like I've never actually listened to this and yet know ever second of this! Not my cup of tea but people seem to enjoy it
Grab me a cold one and let's get it!!
Probably my favorite album by Tortoise this is a masterpiece!
Last song of the night, ladies choice and no funny business out there! Probably would reach for a number of other releases from this young up and coming band but I understand why this is here.
Absolute CLASSIC! So much soul in this and it never gets old!
Finally, some blazing downtempo! Love this record!
I both love and hate this record
They're fantastic
I like this record, not crazy about it but it's solid
Stone cold classic! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars! Probably my favorite Beastie Boys record, it's tough not to rank this high as they really seemed to perfect their sound on this!
Who the devil is this? These guys look like they have a bright future! Can't wait to hear more from them! Still finding their footing but this is a solid collection of songs, original and covers
Couple of bangers, hearing this band is like a nice warm blanket fresh out the dryer, you just feel right with the world when you hear it
Haven't listened to this in ages, guess it's time to get the Led out!
Sounds hella dated! Way too bouncy for me, too clean, feels like you walked into a brand new club vs some warehouse in the middle of nowhere where you are losing your mind to the music and also looking for an exit just in case!
My older sister would give this an 11!!! This heat is taking me back to my youth! Fun fact everyone knows Karen Carpenter was a great drummer that could sign! You should look up a clip of her drumming, you know the one, the one everyone thinks they discovered!
Not their best album but it's a lot closer to the top then I remember! Starts off with two absolute bangers!
Fantastic record, the one just before he really takes a turn! Nice mix of jazzy lounge music here it's a nice way to cap off his early years
YEAH!! Love PJ love this record! Easy 5/5 for me on this one!
I don't think I really like this band, some songs are ok but I can't see myself going back to this!
Here we GO!
Beautiful record, always a pleasant listen
YEAH MOTHERFUCKER!!! HERE WE GO!!! Almost as good as my morning coffee! I feel like this will get old really fast but right now it's fantastic!! The singing is unnecessary! It's growing on me, starting to enjoy the singing
After this week you should be handing out neck braces!
Easy 5/5!! One of my favorite albums of all time! This is just a perfect record!
Best Wu Tang solo album? Definitely in the conversation! I can listen to this all day! RZA on point with the beats and the GZA is a phenomenal emcee, really paints a vivid picture with his rhymes!
Very top heavy, loses momentum in the second half. Sounds dated because of when it was made but the bangers still bang!
Always puts me in such a chipper mood!
Hell yeah! Not as heavy as their earlier stuff but it still goes! They slowed down the tempo and kept it heavy
Interesting choice with this, not my favorite album by them but I'll give it another shot
Nice early noisy Sonic Youth! I actually have been more into late period SY the last few years it's nice to go back to this one! This is a really great record, it's been a long time, it really sounds fresh to my ears I guess when you're not chasing trends you can't really sound dated! I really like the noisy songs as much as the more "subdued" ones! Fucking love Lee Ranaldo lead songs!
This album is outstanding! Lyrically might be a little rough but the beats are on point and the skills on the mic are there, even if I would be ok never hearing the singles again this is still an easy 5/5
Groovy! I don't think I'd go back to this, it's a solid record but it's very same-y and you sort of don't know when songs end and next one's begin
Really like this record, not my favorite Blur record but quite good
Piano jazz business, I'm sure it's good I just don't have much of a taste for jazz! The documentary Straight No Chaser is fantastic so he does have that going for him!
Bobby Dee! Let's see what the original mumble rapper has to offer this time! This is fine, I'm not a big fan but I do own this so I must have enjoyed it at some point
Well well well, it's been a long time since I've listened to this! I remember enjoying it when it first came out, until radio got a hold of it!
5 stars!! Fucking LOVE this album! Jon Spencer at his best! There is not a bad track on this record!
Easy breezy summer music that doesn't take itself seriously, more than a one song record! Solid pop songs with nice instrumentation and sure the lyrics are pretty tame but it would be strange if they got deep over this music! Solid guitar work on this as well! Is that a Tribe Called Quest sample?
Heavy pre punk music? I guess more garage rock that slaps enough to keep me interested. A lot of covers on this, hard to get an idea what this band is! It all kind of sounds the same, like one long ass song
This is a really good album that got way too much radio play and kind of killed the best songs on it! Still a solid effort and with some distance these tracks still hold up
A Lovely followup to their "breakthrough" album this is just strange enough to want me to listen over and over again!
Hot raps! Great concept record that has amazing lyrics and dope beats!
Hillbilly bullshit
I enjoy this album but it gets kind of "same-y" after a few tracks
This one is a five star classic, these guys never missed!
Super! Also Unknown! The hits got overplayed and it's not my favorite Soundgarden album but it still hits that nostalgic soft spot
Love it! Now we're talking!
I'd rather listen to Len! I like Mr. Cab Driver but the rest not so much!
When I was a kid this was a 5! Now, let's see...do you seperate the art from the artist on this? Tough call, music wise this is untouchable, everything else surrounding the person gets muddy
Probably his best album although I do have a soft spot for those first 2 records
Fantastic concept record, when they're done right they really hit, when they aren't...well..
Now this is an interesting pick, looking forward to digging into this!
Yeah!!! The one that put them on the map, solid record front to back, I do find myself going back to the first two more often but this one right here is a stone cold classic!
Heavy heavy soul! Banger after banger after banger!! Clearly the best version of Walk on By, that hype PE sample, sweet soulful One Woman and the absolute banger ending track, five isn't enough!
Remove ya Frankie!
Now this is more my speed! Great little salsa record we've got here! A great introduction to salsa music, I really enjoy this from start to finish
Easy 5 stars, one of my favorite albums of all time!
Have really enjoyed this album over the years, probably their best and most accessible record, I'm going to enjoy revisiting this one!
All killer no filler! I actually enjoy the non singles a lot more on this record, probably because of how overplayed those singles were/are!
Not my favorite Floyd album but I have really enjoyed this at different points in my life! It's kind of a perfect little album, love the backstory about Syd Barrett and the way the opener and closer just bookend this record so well. The songs in-between are absolute bangers! Wow I forgot how much I enjoyed this album
A Ron Burgundy classic!
About to grill a 72oz steak and throw this record on, I think they pair well! Morrissey the person is a cunt, his music however is a thing of beauty, fucking gets me every time!
Is it separate the art from the artist week?
Fantastic record, easy 5 stars very familiar with this, can't get enough of it, they really were great!
There is something about this record that never gets old, it's a warm blanket on a cold winter day! Or I guess it's a cold drink on a hot summer day? Let's just go surfing or snowboarding or something!
The three homies? Let your beards blow in the wind as you cruise down a dusty ass road listening to these good old boys bring it!
Bobby D back again with another sure shot! This heat is for all them poet's out there and beatnik chicks that wouldn't give Bobby the time of day until he dropped this heater!
No lights, no music, JUST ANGER!! This is just political Limp Bizkit, I don't understand the appeal, I've tried and never got it
Never heard of this, will a Led Zeppelin actually fly? Sounds like an old blues album if you stripped away all the soul, 11 stars!
Don't call it a comeback...oh ok what do I call it then? Mr. Lover Man is back and this time he brought his around the way girl! I still revisit Booming System off this record but the other singles, not so much! Looking forward to seeing if there are any hidden gems or if this was a record of 2 singles and some filler!
Amazing record! It didn't fully hit me at first but when it did it hit hard! A very grown up record that you can dance to but know your knees can't take too much movement so you sort of fake it as best as you can!
Another great one!
An all time classic that might have some questionable content but is an absolute banger
This record is too long, I can't do this, I'm sure it's fine pop music it's just not for me.
Cash rules everything around me cream get the money dolla dolla bill y'all!!! Strange Brew the movie>>>>>Strange Brew the song! You never need to listen to Sunshine of Your Love ever again, retire that song please! I do like that complete psychopath Ginger Baker, the record Fela Kuti let him play on is dope, these guys are not doing it for me. Ok some of this white boy blues hits...
I normally hate sequels but I'll give this one a go, why not? I still know this album front to back and I haven't spun it in YEARS!! this is a record that is a part of me and I don't know how and I don't know why but every song is so familiar to me it just is! Probably not my go to album by them but it hits all the notes!
Another Beatles album?
That's the letter U and the numeral 2...These guys are from England and who gives a shit?
Surprised this is on here, you'd think one of their other records would be here over this, this is good but not their best! They are really comfort food and have just banger after banger, you never realize it until you go down a rabbit hole and find out how many great songs they have! Their cover of Proud Mary is great...oh what's that, they wrote it? Well goddamn I feel like Tina Turner said, nah, fuck that, that's my song now and never looked back! There is a nice cover on this so I'm half right!
It's a shame about the singer! I really enjoy this record, it's been a while so I'm looking forward to revisiting this one.
They really hit the perfect balance of crazy sexy and cool on this one! I remember the singles off of this record and I feel like that's enough TLC for me!
Easy 5 all day!
I'd imagine a five is way too low for this fucking masterpiece! Beautiful album, fantastic concept record done perfectly
This one is good
This is one of my favorite albums of all time, PE couldn't miss during this time, the Bomb Squad were on fire, the beats were fire, the rhymes hard as fuck and you can't deny Fight the Power! Welcome to the Terrordome is an all timer, Flav is on point and 9-1-1 is a fucking joke!
Another banger! This is when Radiohead became Radiohead!
Lyrical graffiti and this one's a burner baby! If I never hear a Led Zeppelin song again in a million years it'll still be too soon!
I got five on it! Arguably their best and a end to end burner! Not a weak song on this one, this is what five stars sounds like
This one is great, the way they stitched together everything is magical! Albums like this always make me wonder what music would be like if there were no sampling laws!
An interesting follow up to their big breakthrough, they seemed to have turned away from what everyone liked about Funeral and made a completing and complex frustrating follow up! I enjoy it but can see why it's not everyone's favorite.
Great mixed bag here showing a lot of different influences. Black Thought is a very underrated emcee or at least he was, I think people are coming around.
Welcome to the jungle baby! This really brings me back! A staple of my youth that I haven't listened to in ages, this should be fun! Still a fun listen didn't exactly age that well but still worth a listen
Out on tour with the Smashing Pumpkins, these nature kids, do they have a function and do I really give a fuck?
I liked this a little less than the first EP and more than the follow up...this band seems to lose me a little more with each album they release which is odd because they have all the makings of an incredible band.
Classic.
Country music for people that don't like country music!
This is a great record, I discovered this late and have been enjoying it ever since!
This is a stone cold classic for a reason, they really captured the moment in time and put it on record! I enjoyed the follow-up as well even if it was too many years too late. This had massive bangers on it and some top tier deep cuts, worth a revisit although time and place plays a huge factor in this release so it loses a little something all these years later
God these guys suck, who the fuck listens to Steely Dan? This is music for people that don't actually enjoy listening to music they just want to show off their $10,000 Soundsystem while looking down at you, guess what, you're an asshole and so are Ted Steely and Dan Danielson! Ain't nobody fucking to this record BTW
Needs to be louder
What is this filth?!! Imagine finding pornography on my phone this morning?!? I need a cure...ok I'll stop this record is flawless 11 stars!
Greatest live show I've ever seen! The one song 30 minute encore covering his father's song Water No Get Enemy was magical! Looking forward to listening to this again, it's been too long! Great feel to this, a lot of energy and the right amount of political outrage! Doing his father proud! Band tight as hell songs just fucking go!
This is a fantastic record!
These guys suck
Fantastic soul record that should be a part of every good record collection
I hate Steely Dan, this is the worst kind of dad rock and don't get me started on their fans!
I'm not really sure I like this band, if there's one album I should live it's this one but every time I try to listen to it I can't get through it. I tried again, same results, this just isn't for me
I've never been a fan, don't get the hype and am sure I've listened this once and never thought of it again
Phil Spector is a fucking scumbag, Darlene Love is a national treasure! It's funky ass Christmas music, that SOB could really make great music, also, fuck that guy!
This is my shit! Highly recommended! The drums on this are just outstanding, super heavy and just driving, they are a force! The whole band just blends together perfectly, 20 minute plus songs you wish were longer, just perfect!
Nope
This one is hard to rate, as a kid this was my shit, Cube could do no wrong, straight outta NWA and right into the Bomb Squads universe! It was a perfect combination for me musically and Cube didn't disappoint! Listening now is a whole lot different, the beats are still dope but the lyrics are very suspect! It's hard to remove this from its place and time for me as this was an album of my youth that came out in that sweet spot where you're just developing your music taste, back then it's a 10/5 now it's much harder. I'm still giving this high marks but understand other people's ratings of this!
Easy five stars
Boomer core!
You got a problem I've got a problem solver and the names revolver...ok that has nothing to do with this young upstart out of the United Kingdom that I feel like is going places! I don't think this band made a bad record and giving it anything less than 4 to 5 stars just feels like you're hating for no reason!
Fantastic record that rips and has messages that still ring true today
The album that sparked my love for hip hop music. It is hard to explain the impact of this record at the time, it was a shift in rap that moved it forward lightyears. Without Run DMC the world of rap and hip hop would be a much different animal
Horny horn business! I don't think I like jazz as much as I used to and really I didn't really like it much back then! Wow, two songs in just under 40 minutes? I like the organ at the beginning. Here comes the horn!
Good mix of odd and straightforward rock music
Get the sugar because it's pouring time! I'm just going to end up listening to a bunch of the hits, no need to listen to this full album, shit rocks the corporate casbah
Here he is, bam, and you say goddamn this is a dope jam! I appreciate what Little Richard did I probably won't be reaching for any of his records any time soon. Records this old always just feel like a compilation of singles thrown together way after the fact just so you can buy the music twice...and still he probably didn't see a dime for his work! Banger after banger of just filth! Well it's sort of not so well hidden filth but it fooled enough people! Yeah this is just feel good tune after feel good tune, listen once and you'll feel like you've listened 1000 times
I finally listened to Blur last year, ran through their discography and this was my favorite!
I think I can make it through life without ever listening to this record. I have no desire to play this and can spend my time actually listening to music I enjoy. I have yet to discover many good records on this list that either I have never heard of heard of but never listened. Another terrible pick! Eleven Stars!
Five star classic, everything you want in an instrumental hip hop record!
My favorite of their catalogue this one hits you like a tonne of bricks and never lets up! I prefer the original order of the tracklist and original cover but that's just me!
Tell me Ys...a beautiful and wild freak folk record that seems like you find something new each time you listen
Very much enjoyed this when it first came out and still enjoy this today
Just listened to this going to start a band! There's always money in the banana stand! I think I appreciate the songs with Nico more as I got older than when I first heard this. This is just a great album front to back and actually lives up to the hype
Five stars, one of if not the best Outkast albums, banger after banger
Mos Def, Talib Kweli and David Bowie, LET'S GO!!! Wait what, I'm wrong, it's about what? Oh dear lord, here comes the waterworks!
They say that cat Shaft is a bad mother..shut your mouth..I'm just talking about Shaft, right on! Love the movie and the soundtrack Isaac Hayes straight kills it on this record
The last great White Stripes album!
More hillbilly music, pass
Sugar is the shit!
Nice try, this is still some bullshit Steely Dan, you ain't fooling nobody, fuck this guy!
I don't care which one is Pink they all suck!
Easy 5/5 an all time classic! Used to rock the purple tape daily when it came out and it still hits today! This was the Wu at the height of their powers, they were untouchable.
This was mindblowing the first time I ever heard this! It had so many elements in it I dug, Kool Keith's straight up weirdness on the mic, DJ Q-Bert on the cuts and Dan the Automator on the beats? It was a recipe for one hell of a fucked up stew! It delivers on all levels and it might seem a little problematic lyrically these days I can't deny how much it hit me when it came out!
Classic
West Coast, no Hip Hop classic! Changed the game!
Easy 5! I know I know it really doesn't hold up at all but for better or for worse it's a game changer.
Didn't like it when it came out and still don't like it today, I just don't get this dude
This version of the Pink Floyd are not my favorite version but a good version none the less
Fuck this guy
🤡🤡🤡
Hip Hop classic, hands down! Its a shame it has the executive producer all over it and the sex interludes are a bit much
Things I am: a fire starter, a twisted fire starter I think I used to play this way too much back when it came out, about to time travel back to a simpler time! From my memory I got sick of the singles real quick and really dug into the rest of the tracks.
Really solid record, if these young men keep this up they'll go places
I celebrate their entire catalog! This record didn't reach the highs of their first two but it's a solid record with some really great songs!
LoL get the fuck outta here!
Funky ass record
The man who what? What kind of title is that? Who is this Travis fellow anyways? This has a real "for people that think Coldplay are too edgy" vibe!
This guy is good, I wonder if he put anything else out
This is nowhere as good as the worst White Stripes album. His solo work never did it for me, had some songs but never seemed to recapture the magic of The White Stripes.
Solid record, really dope production and lyrics. It was really hard for a lady emcee to breakthrough and for the most part she seemed authentic but there will always be a little bit of that feeling she's trying to be too much like one of the boys, hip hop has a checkered past when it comes to a lot of things ladies on the mic not getting their respect is one of them
Drunk jerk off that thinks he's some deep poet but is just a douche
Love this record and celebrate her entire catalog
Solid record
I somewhat enjoy this record but it really feels like it was a time and place type thing.
Still waiting for all the other states Sufjan!
I'd rather listen to the Goodie Mob while covering my drink than listen to this shit!
Not enough songs! I really do love this record and like to take time every few months to just sit down and listen to the whole thing from start to finish but realize for most people it's too mighty of a task!
Never got into this guy
These hippies are just alright with me
No
I don't care about this fellow
I'm a bigger fan of The What, the Why, the Where, the When and the How!
Fantastic record
Hip Hop perfection!
Great Pixies record! Ok that's not exactly true but this is the next best thing to even the worst Pixies record!
Great gateway into Cuban music, fantastic documentary and some really beautiful music on this one!
Fantastic record really captures the energy of a Fela Kuti show! Ginger Baker is an asshole but he sure can rip a drum solo! I absolutely love this record
Not a great album at all but it sparked a movement! It has a cultural significance that gets it on lists like this, PIL is a much better group but still
Never got the hype surrounding this, I thought he peaked with Like Water for Chocolate. Once he dropped the Sense he was really just Common...YEAHHHHHHHHH
Stone cold classic
Boomer bullshit, I'll give you some of his older work but this is unnecessary
Dope record! I played the shit out of this when it came out! Holds up okay, lyrics are always a question but overall it's still full of bangers!
This wasn't my gateway into Sonic Youth but it did solidify my fandom of Sonic Youth
I'm good, she had some jams back in the day but most of her output seems so polished and manufactured that I can't get into it
A great album to play loud! I've dipped in and out on Dino Jr over the years so it's hard to say this is better or worse than some of their other output but I do like it.
Billy music
I dig this weird and wonderful record
This.was the record that really made me a fan of this band, going back to their older stuff I was truly hooked. It's a shame this might have been their peak because everything after this was good but never great. I hope they regroup and put out something magical again and soon!
Standout song Bad Company from the band Bad Company from the album Bad Company
It's fine, love the use of the DAP Kings as backing band. The singles are still massive.
Perfection! Just an amazing debut record that set off a rock resurgence in NYC and around the world. Opened my eyes to indie rock with one ear towards the future and one checking out the past and all the great bands doing it before them! Easy 5
Horn man blows horn very good
I enjoy this record, who knew the guy from Wings had it in him! Momma Miss America will always be my jam! Maybe I'm Amazed is arguably the best solo Beatles song?
Love this as a full listen more than picking and choosing singles. Really tells a story of what the suburbs used to be like before they really become cookie cutter houses and neighborhoods. The feeling of boredom, isolation and abandonment really come though on this. This is for a generation of kids that were sent out into the world to fend for themselves, at least until the streetlights came on!
