Popular Reviews

21 by Adele

Starts off upbeat, gets into boring slow jams, picks back up, slows down again, picks up, slows down it all sounds too clean, I'm sure grocery stores and outlet malls are happy this exists

The Wall by Pink Floyd

I don't care which one is Pink they all suck!

Dr. Octagonecologyst by Dr. Octagon

This was mindblowing the first time I ever heard this! It had so many elements in it I dug, Kool Keith's straight up weirdness on the mic, DJ Q-Bert on the cuts and Dan the Automator on the beats? It was a recipe for one hell of a fucked up stew! It delivers on all levels and it might seem a little problematic lyrically these days I can't deny how much it hit me when it came out!

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits

Dad rock! Can't wait to skim through this to confirm that it sucks! Look at that, it really does suck! I honestly wish you could just skip forward to the next album when trash like this pops up

evermore by Taylor Swift
Jan 14 2023

She's not for me

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Jan 15 2023

Very familiar with the two big singles off this, looking forward to hearing the rest. Sympathy bangs, sill. No Expectations a slow burning blues number that wants to explode but never does which actually works, nice piano on this. Dear Doctor, another blues track, very minimal, chugging along very "I'm hung over as shit" type of track. Parachute Woman, more upbeat blues track, I'm sensing a pattern. Jigsaw Puzzle, mid tempo blues, I dig the drumming, starting to sound all the same, a little less blues-y but still on brand, too long can't get through it lyrics kind of dumb! Street fighting Man still bangs! Prodigal Son, um...this is a blues cover I hope and I hope Mick isn't proud of this voice. Stray Cat Blues, gee what's this going to sound like? Play the blues punk! Liking the drums again, less blues than I thought strangely, kind of rips tbh, too long for a single at the time, should be better known, great song! Factory Girl, unexpected like us that a fiddle? Very basic guitar and fiddle? Cool. Salt of the Earth, nope, couldn't finish this

Rain Dogs by Tom Waits
Jan 16 2023

I still do not get this guy, that being said it was an enjoyable record

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
Jan 17 2023

Speed King, feels familiar, like the organ. Bloodsucker, wasn't paying attention, boring. Child in Time, fake epic, another miss. Yeah songs too long, album is trash.

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Jan 18 2023

Stone cold classic

Dear Science by TV On The Radio
Jan 19 2023

Halfway Home, such a great way to start an album, hits you right in the chest gets your ass moving! Crying, upbeat disco vibes not bad, not one I'd come back to. Dancing choose, like spitting lyrics, like the drive in the music and the hook, the HORNS! Stork & Owl, starts slowly, slow jam? Sounds like videogame music a little, skipped. Golden Age, another disco type vibe, that Bee Gees falsetto, kicks in and is a banger, I think this was a single! Family Tree, slow build, piano is slow then drops? Acapella? Not a fan of this really, to minimal but not in a good way. Red Dress, nice DFA vibes, like the Rapture and shit! Nice upbeat tune with fucked up lyrics! Love Dog, slow build again, touching on electronic music, never remembered that, going to be too long for me. Shout me Out, building again, not catching me like others, kind of like the drums, kicks IN!! THIS JOINT GOES!! DLZ, this is a slow burning banger! Lover's Day, cool track, nice way to end it.

Queen Of Denmark by John Grant
Jan 20 2023

Never heard of this artist or album, first song is epic! Has a Pink Floyd feel but with less of the experimentation, more of the straightforward parts of PF. Second track very Father John Misty type vibe, I like the ending. Song three, slow jam, I should listen to the lyrics more, I'm sure they're saying something. Song four, seriously this is Pink John Misty, with a touch of Lynard Skynyrd? Song five, back to FJM, boom cussing! Kind of reminds me of Gordon Lightfoot vocally a little. Song six, some swinging ragtime business! Song seven, the FJM stuff is distracting. Song eight, it's like a song Bowie would write and throw out, then hear the arrangement and be like, nope, still don't like it! Song nine, title is WILD, odd synth but I kind of like it, feels like a personal song, a bummer subject and yet it's really upbeat, man goes hard on this, unexpected n-word! Song ten, piano is back, FJM is back, maybe more Anthony and The Johnsons, getting into that range, this sounds both new and familiar! Song eleven, sparse piano jam into a nice build, cool little song. Song twelve, same as the others! Overall I can't get past all the things that it sounds like, too distracting, that being said, never heard this album or artist but feels like I have heard every song on this before, except track nine, that's a wild one!

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 21 2023

Solid release, not my go to choice if I want to listen to reggae music. It's always nice to hear No Women No Cry in it's original form!

B-52's by The B-52's
Jan 22 2023

YES!! An album I've been meaning to listen to! First up, Planet Claire, this build up is wild, sounds like some 60's SciFi soundtrack in the best way possible, and here comes your man on the vocals, sounds like a space robot, perfect for the song! 52 Girls, jangly pop sort of driving beat like all their songs, it works well for them, ladies on the vocals. Dance This Mess Around, a song that you can't really dance to that's about dances! Amazing work! Rock Lobster, CLASSIC!! Lava, more straightforward rock song, well at least for them, and it's still weird! There's a Moon in the Sky (Called the Moon), well that's the most B-52's song title I can think of, this is that out there stuff I expected from this band, a song about the moon and just shouting plants out, sign me up! Hero Worship, kind of just happening in the background, hardly noticed that the song changed, ooops! 6060-842, well they sing the title, wasn't expecting that! And they're saying it over and over, I really should have saw this coming! Has a new wave on acid feel musically. Downtown, I think this is a cover...the greatest cover ever! A great listen can get away from you and might be better mixed in with other songs.

Jan 23 2023

Fantastic compilation of their first two records, I actually own this and remember really enjoying it! It hits all the right notes and still sounds good! Nothing but back to back bangers! Hard to rate seeing as it's sort of a best of not an actual album.

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Jan 24 2023

Masterpiece! The foundation of all that is electronic and dance music today! A stone cold classic!

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Jan 25 2023

Big singles off this, some filler and the song May This Be Love sounds like all three guys are playing a different song at the same time! The version I'm listening to is the expanded version so more tracks than it should have so it's hard to rate, do you use the UK version, US or expanded version?

Pretenders by Pretenders
Jan 26 2023

This album is FANTASTIC!! I'm blown away by how good it is...I have heard of this band but clearly never listened to them, my mistake! Really deserves a good sit down listen which I will do in the future, it really blindsided me! A few tracks are a little lacking so it's not perfect but it's damn good!

Jan 28 2023

Noooooooooo! First song is 18 minutes long! Starts with birds and chimes? Prog is both good and way too self indulgent! I like ideas in the music but they need to be removed, shortened and made into more manageable songs! The sing chanting doesn't help! All the playing is too notch, just nerds that wouldn't stop until they were perfect players! Oh it's supposed to sound like a bunch of songs it's like part 1,2,3 or whatever! 18 minutes later...still not sold on prog but I didn't turn it off! Oh track 2 is only 10 minutes and I've heard this before! Still can't get into the voice!

Talking Book by Stevie Wonder
Jan 29 2023

Absolute classic

Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves
Jan 30 2023

It sounds too much like a hundred other ladies with a guitar and microphone

Wild Wood by Paul Weller
Jan 31 2023

Feels a little bit dated but would love to hear it again and explore more of his catalog

Bad by Michael Jackson
Feb 01 2023

The hits still bang but it's hard to separate the art from the artist

Headquarters by The Monkees
Feb 02 2023

This Beatles album is ok but they have better ones. FIVE STARS BABY, THE DEL SAMPLE!!! I like the first song and the last one! Everything in between is ok to trash! Kind of gives Grateful Dead vibes but if they didn't go further than like 3 minute pop songs, all the Dead without the drugs! Also heavy Beatles energy!

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Feb 03 2023

The toilet, how scandalous! Singles still bang! Straight Shooter sounds familiar to me but I don't think I've ever heard it, I think this song is about drugs or woman! Got a Feelin is NOT a cover of the BEP song! I call your name is a little country...not much rock and roll. Lifeless cover of Do You Wanna Dance, or it's the original? Go where you whatever this is too repetitive. Spanish Harlem, banger of a song, trash version! Somebody Groovy... fucking seriously, groovy...Hey Girl, come fuck with me not that asshole, mans going for it! You Baby, another pimp anthem, this dude is trying!

Loveless by My Bloody Valentine
Feb 04 2023

Absolute CLASSIC!! My ears are ready to BLEED!!

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Feb 06 2023

Very familiar with the singles looking forward to the rest!

Nevermind by Nirvana
Feb 07 2023

LoL I'm familiar with this, is 5 really enough? This was released at the most ideal time in my life and I've lived with this for what seems like forever so I can't give it less than 5!!

Feb 08 2023

Oh what to do about the Morrissey of it all? Love this album and think 5 stars right away but then I remember that Morrissey is a thing, this is always tough, separating the art from the artist. In the end this record is too good not to rate a 5, but fuck Morrissey!

The Doors by The Doors
Feb 09 2023

Oh dear lord don't make me do this! The End is still a banger, the singles are just too played out!

Rip It Up by Orange Juice
Feb 10 2023

This sounds dated, I wanted to like it but I can't get there!

Dust by Screaming Trees
Feb 11 2023

This is a lost gem for me! I've heard of this band but only really their big single and that one album! Mark Lanegan is amazing, should get a lot more shine than he did! Very solid rock record that breaks out of the grunge label

The Blueprint by JAY Z
Feb 12 2023

Never been a fan of Jay Z after listening to this my opinion hasn't changed, dude is corny! Beats sound dated, very 2000's, rap music is wild, it really was of its time! It doesn't help I wasn't all that interested in rap music at this time, kind of outgrew it by the time Jay Z was a big deal. KRS ALREADY MADE THE BLUEPRINT STUPID

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Feb 13 2023

What more can be said about this that hasn't already been said, a perfect record, a modern classic that actually deserves to be called that!

21 by Adele
Feb 14 2023

Starts off upbeat, gets into boring slow jams, picks back up, slows down again, picks up, slows down it all sounds too clean, I'm sure grocery stores and outlet malls are happy this exists

Go Girl Crazy by The Dictators
Feb 15 2023

It's ok, more glam than punk

The Predator by Ice Cube
Feb 16 2023

Stone cold classic! I still remember when I got this cassette and EVERYONE wanted a dub of this!

Feb 17 2023

I recently revisited this album and really enjoyed it! Looking forward to listening to it again! Love that it starts off with a mixture of so many sounds! Really great way to introduce your band and their sound! I thought Brimful of Asha was a massive pop hit but I don't think that's the case! Perception plays a big part of reviewing these albums! Love the instrumental interludes! Overall this record has a lot going on and it all works really well together!

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Feb 19 2023

Starts with 3 BANGERS! This Nirvana demo is dope! He's really trying to find himself and his sound, it's a solid record and a sign of what's to come but feels more like a demo than a complete album. More like an EP with lots of filler

Feb 20 2023

Know the name more than the music! Taking me back with the sound of the 90's! Enjoying it for what it is, don't think it's really a standout from everything else out at the time. I like Into The Drink, Fuzz Gun '91, Pokin' Around and Check Out Time. Not mindblowing, it's a fine record.

Drunk by Thundercat
Feb 21 2023

Thundercat always delivers, solid record

Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds
Feb 22 2023

Fuck the Byrds! Transmitting live from Mars!

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Feb 23 2023

I'm familiar with The Cure but I'm not that familiar with this record! I really enjoyed it! I was surprised at how much it was an instrumental heavy record, I expected more Robert Smith and it took until the last half of the album for him to really show out! Great record, love all the build up and the music is beautiful!

Feb 26 2023

Horny horn time!! That introduction was too long but the first real track is a banger! More of this please! YES! Shit just goes! Dump that boring intro and bring that heat! Horny horns and smooth crooning, hell yeah brother! Peter motherfucking Cetera in the building! Some ripping guitar!

Playing With Fire by Spacemen 3
Feb 27 2023

Finally, a soundtrack for taking drugs!!

Teen Dream by Beach House
Feb 28 2023

Perfect record! Easy 5/5 probably a little low!

The Real Thing by Faith No More
Mar 01 2023

What is this? Only familiar with one song and the rest are kind of ok, not sure this is my thing.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Mar 02 2023

Better than I expected, hard to take a song about staying off your feet or at least taking care of your feet, seriously what the hell is this? Yes guys eat Rhymes with feet, brilliant! Ok Student Demonstration Time is kind of missing a better singer and lyrics but has a very Greatful Dead vibe, I'd rather be listening to the Dead. Stick to surfing my dudes

90 by 808 State
Mar 03 2023

Feels dated, it's fine but nothing mindblowing

S&M by Metallica
Mar 04 2023

I don't think I'm going to enjoy this!

Sex Packets by Digital Underground
Mar 06 2023

More than just the two big singles this album is so dope! The musicianship is outstanding, Shock G was a beast and really underrated, they were hip hops answer to Parliament Funkadelic!

Mermaid Avenue by Billy Bragg
Mar 07 2023

Kind of boring, I'm sure if I was listening a little harder I'd get the message but I just don't care

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
Mar 08 2023

She has a Lovely voice and I'm not familiar enough with vocal Jazz but I really enjoyed this

Graceland by Paul Simon
Mar 09 2023

This is my favorite Vampire Weekend album! I enjoy this album more now than I did when I first heard it. Feels like a very adult album with adult themes and banging ass African music!

Melodrama by Lorde
Mar 10 2023

Oh Lorde Randy Marsh did it again!

The Beach Boys Today! by The Beach Boys
Mar 11 2023

The Beach Boys have one amazing record and this ain't it! This is the second album by them and I don't get the appeal. This does have that joint from Alf on it so it's not all that bad!

Repeater by Fugazi
Mar 12 2023

Maybe I'm just not a Fugazi person, this is ok but I'm not excited about it, don't want to rewind any songs or search this out!

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Mar 13 2023

Perfect

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Mar 14 2023

Like that one song and the rest is cool too

Mar 15 2023

Love it! This is like going to a dive bar and seeing the greatest show you've ever seen and wondering how this is happening here and why can't I stay here for the rest of my life! Witty poetry from a master of words I can't get enough of these stories and songs!

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
Mar 16 2023

Another awesome album I'm very familiar with, it's been a while so looking forward to hearing it again!

Play by Moby
Mar 18 2023
Live And Dangerous by Thin Lizzy
Mar 19 2023

Fine live record but it's nothing special no idea why this is here

Ten by Pearl Jam
Mar 22 2023

Very 90's! The singles are just too massive and it sort of takes away from the rest of the record. I feel like they got better on each album after this, probably their most popular album and far from their best but still really good.

Doolittle by Pixies
Mar 23 2023

Probably their best record an easy 5 stars

I Am a Bird Now by Antony and the Johnsons
Mar 24 2023

Beautiful album, a little to low energy for my liking although if the mood strikes I'd reach for it again.

Pump by Aerosmith
Mar 25 2023

LoL nope! Should have left these dudes in the 70's where they belong! Stupid Rick Rubin

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Mar 26 2023

Solid followup to a classic! Really enjoying the production and lyrics on this, they all took a step forward on this album

Future Days by Can
Mar 27 2023

Oh hell yeah! Love love LOVE CAN!! This record is one of my personal favorites! Love all the builds and the drumming is phenomenal! Fantastic guitar work as well on this album.

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Mar 28 2023

Jesus, this is a slog! Old Bruce crying into a microphone while doing something with the guitar, what a joy he brought upon the world by putting out these shitty demo's!

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Mar 29 2023

My favorite album to sing along with!

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Mar 30 2023

Dad rock! Can't wait to skim through this to confirm that it sucks! Look at that, it really does suck! I honestly wish you could just skip forward to the next album when trash like this pops up

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Mar 31 2023

Everyone fucking everyone: the soundtrack! I feel like I've never actually listened to this and yet know ever second of this! Not my cup of tea but people seem to enjoy it

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Apr 01 2023

Grab me a cold one and let's get it!!

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Apr 03 2023

Last song of the night, ladies choice and no funny business out there! Probably would reach for a number of other releases from this young up and coming band but I understand why this is here.

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Apr 05 2023

Absolute CLASSIC! So much soul in this and it never gets old!

The Score by Fugees

I both love and hate this record

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Apr 09 2023

I like this record, not crazy about it but it's solid

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
Apr 10 2023

Stone cold classic! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars! Probably my favorite Beastie Boys record, it's tough not to rank this high as they really seemed to perfect their sound on this!

With The Beatles by Beatles
Apr 11 2023

Who the devil is this? These guys look like they have a bright future! Can't wait to hear more from them! Still finding their footing but this is a solid collection of songs, original and covers

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Apr 13 2023

Couple of bangers, hearing this band is like a nice warm blanket fresh out the dryer, you just feel right with the world when you hear it

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Apr 14 2023

Haven't listened to this in ages, guess it's time to get the Led out!

1984 by Van Halen
Apr 15 2023
Pearl by Janis Joplin
Apr 16 2023
Darkdancer by Les Rythmes Digitales
Apr 17 2023

Sounds hella dated! Way too bouncy for me, too clean, feels like you walked into a brand new club vs some warehouse in the middle of nowhere where you are losing your mind to the music and also looking for an exit just in case!

Close To You by Carpenters
Apr 19 2023

My older sister would give this an 11!!! This heat is taking me back to my youth! Fun fact everyone knows Karen Carpenter was a great drummer that could sign! You should look up a clip of her drumming, you know the one, the one everyone thinks they discovered!

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Apr 21 2023

Not their best album but it's a lot closer to the top then I remember! Starts off with two absolute bangers!

Heartattack And Vine by Tom Waits
Apr 22 2023

Fantastic record, the one just before he really takes a turn! Nice mix of jazzy lounge music here it's a nice way to cap off his early years

Odessa by Bee Gees

Apr 25 2023

Clube Da Esquina by Milton Nascimento
Apr 28 2023

Beautiful record, always a pleasant listen

Rust In Peace by Megadeth
May 02 2023

YEAH MOTHERFUCKER!!! HERE WE GO!!! Almost as good as my morning coffee! I feel like this will get old really fast but right now it's fantastic!! The singing is unnecessary! It's growing on me, starting to enjoy the singing

The Hour Of Bewilderbeast by Badly Drawn Boy
May 04 2023

Easy 5/5!! One of my favorite albums of all time! This is just a perfect record!

Liquid Swords by GZA
May 05 2023

Best Wu Tang solo album? Definitely in the conversation! I can listen to this all day! RZA on point with the beats and the GZA is a phenomenal emcee, really paints a vivid picture with his rhymes!

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
May 06 2023

Very top heavy, loses momentum in the second half. Sounds dated because of when it was made but the bangers still bang!

Either Or by Elliott Smith
May 07 2023

Always puts me in such a chipper mood!

I Against I by Bad Brains
May 08 2023

Hell yeah! Not as heavy as their earlier stuff but it still goes! They slowed down the tempo and kept it heavy

Brothers by The Black Keys
May 09 2023

Interesting choice with this, not my favorite album by them but I'll give it another shot

Sister by Sonic Youth
May 10 2023

Nice early noisy Sonic Youth! I actually have been more into late period SY the last few years it's nice to go back to this one! This is a really great record, it's been a long time, it really sounds fresh to my ears I guess when you're not chasing trends you can't really sound dated! I really like the noisy songs as much as the more "subdued" ones! Fucking love Lee Ranaldo lead songs!

2112 by Rush
May 12 2023
Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
May 14 2023

This album is outstanding! Lyrically might be a little rough but the beats are on point and the skills on the mic are there, even if I would be ok never hearing the singles again this is still an easy 5/5

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
May 18 2023

Groovy! I don't think I'd go back to this, it's a solid record but it's very same-y and you sort of don't know when songs end and next one's begin

Parklife by Blur
May 20 2023

Really like this record, not my favorite Blur record but quite good

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
May 23 2023

Piano jazz business, I'm sure it's good I just don't have much of a taste for jazz! The documentary Straight No Chaser is fantastic so he does have that going for him!

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
May 25 2023

Bobby Dee! Let's see what the original mumble rapper has to offer this time! This is fine, I'm not a big fan but I do own this so I must have enjoyed it at some point

American Idiot by Green Day
May 26 2023

Well well well, it's been a long time since I've listened to this! I remember enjoying it when it first came out, until radio got a hold of it!

Now I Got Worry by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
Jun 05 2023

5 stars!! Fucking LOVE this album! Jon Spencer at his best! There is not a bad track on this record!

Groovin' by The Young Rascals
Jun 07 2023

Easy breezy summer music that doesn't take itself seriously, more than a one song record! Solid pop songs with nice instrumentation and sure the lyrics are pretty tame but it would be strange if they got deep over this music! Solid guitar work on this as well! Is that a Tribe Called Quest sample?

Here Are the Sonics by The Sonics
Jun 08 2023

Heavy pre punk music? I guess more garage rock that slaps enough to keep me interested. A lot of covers on this, hard to get an idea what this band is! It all kind of sounds the same, like one long ass song

Jun 13 2023

This is a really good album that got way too much radio play and kind of killed the best songs on it! Still a solid effort and with some distance these tracks still hold up

Jun 15 2023

A Lovely followup to their "breakthrough" album this is just strange enough to want me to listen over and over again!

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Jun 16 2023

Hot raps! Great concept record that has amazing lyrics and dope beats!

Cross by Justice
Jun 21 2023

I enjoy this album but it gets kind of "same-y" after a few tracks

Superunknown by Soundgarden
Jun 25 2023

Super! Also Unknown! The hits got overplayed and it's not my favorite Soundgarden album but it still hits that nostalgic soft spot

Dirty by Sonic Youth
Jun 28 2023

Love it! Now we're talking!

Let Love Rule by Lenny Kravitz
Jul 03 2023

I'd rather listen to Len! I like Mr. Cab Driver but the rest not so much!

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Jul 04 2023

When I was a kid this was a 5! Now, let's see...do you seperate the art from the artist on this? Tough call, music wise this is untouchable, everything else surrounding the person gets muddy

Jul 06 2023

Probably his best album although I do have a soft spot for those first 2 records

Post Orgasmic Chill by Skunk Anansie
Jul 09 2023

Now this is an interesting pick, looking forward to digging into this!

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Jul 15 2023

Yeah!!! The one that put them on the map, solid record front to back, I do find myself going back to the first two more often but this one right here is a stone cold classic!

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Jul 16 2023

Heavy heavy soul! Banger after banger after banger!! Clearly the best version of Walk on By, that hype PE sample, sweet soulful One Woman and the absolute banger ending track, five isn't enough!

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
Jul 20 2023

Now this is more my speed! Great little salsa record we've got here! A great introduction to salsa music, I really enjoy this from start to finish

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Jul 22 2023

Easy 5 stars, one of my favorite albums of all time!

Bitte Orca by Dirty Projectors
Jul 28 2023

Have really enjoyed this album over the years, probably their best and most accessible record, I'm going to enjoy revisiting this one!

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Jul 29 2023

All killer no filler! I actually enjoy the non singles a lot more on this record, probably because of how overplayed those singles were/are!

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Aug 01 2023

Not my favorite Floyd album but I have really enjoyed this at different points in my life! It's kind of a perfect little album, love the backstory about Syd Barrett and the way the opener and closer just bookend this record so well. The songs in-between are absolute bangers! Wow I forgot how much I enjoyed this album

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Aug 02 2023

A Ron Burgundy classic!

Your Arsenal by Morrissey
Aug 06 2023

About to grill a 72oz steak and throw this record on, I think they pair well! Morrissey the person is a cunt, his music however is a thing of beauty, fucking gets me every time!

Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams
Aug 07 2023

Is it separate the art from the artist week?

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Aug 14 2023

Fantastic record, easy 5 stars very familiar with this, can't get enough of it, they really were great!

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Aug 15 2023

There is something about this record that never gets old, it's a warm blanket on a cold winter day! Or I guess it's a cold drink on a hot summer day? Let's just go surfing or snowboarding or something!

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Aug 16 2023

The three homies? Let your beards blow in the wind as you cruise down a dusty ass road listening to these good old boys bring it!

Aug 21 2023

Bobby D back again with another sure shot! This heat is for all them poet's out there and beatnik chicks that wouldn't give Bobby the time of day until he dropped this heater!

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Aug 22 2023

No lights, no music, JUST ANGER!! This is just political Limp Bizkit, I don't understand the appeal, I've tried and never got it

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Aug 23 2023

Never heard of this, will a Led Zeppelin actually fly? Sounds like an old blues album if you stripped away all the soul, 11 stars!

Aug 24 2023

Don't call it a comeback...oh ok what do I call it then? Mr. Lover Man is back and this time he brought his around the way girl! I still revisit Booming System off this record but the other singles, not so much! Looking forward to seeing if there are any hidden gems or if this was a record of 2 singles and some filler!

american dream by LCD Soundsystem
Aug 28 2023

Amazing record! It didn't fully hit me at first but when it did it hit hard! A very grown up record that you can dance to but know your knees can't take too much movement so you sort of fake it as best as you can!

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Aug 31 2023

An all time classic that might have some questionable content but is an absolute banger

Chris by Christine and the Queens
Sep 01 2023

This record is too long, I can't do this, I'm sure it's fine pop music it's just not for me.

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Sep 02 2023

Cash rules everything around me cream get the money dolla dolla bill y'all!!! Strange Brew the movie>>>>>Strange Brew the song! You never need to listen to Sunshine of Your Love ever again, retire that song please! I do like that complete psychopath Ginger Baker, the record Fela Kuti let him play on is dope, these guys are not doing it for me. Ok some of this white boy blues hits...

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Sep 04 2023

I normally hate sequels but I'll give this one a go, why not? I still know this album front to back and I haven't spun it in YEARS!! this is a record that is a part of me and I don't know how and I don't know why but every song is so familiar to me it just is! Probably not my go to album by them but it hits all the notes!

Sep 09 2023

That's the letter U and the numeral 2...These guys are from England and who gives a shit?

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Sep 11 2023

Surprised this is on here, you'd think one of their other records would be here over this, this is good but not their best! They are really comfort food and have just banger after banger, you never realize it until you go down a rabbit hole and find out how many great songs they have! Their cover of Proud Mary is great...oh what's that, they wrote it? Well goddamn I feel like Tina Turner said, nah, fuck that, that's my song now and never looked back! There is a nice cover on this so I'm half right!

Gold by Ryan Adams
Sep 14 2023
Funeral by Arcade Fire
Sep 15 2023

It's a shame about the singer! I really enjoy this record, it's been a while so I'm looking forward to revisiting this one.

Crazysexycool by TLC
Sep 17 2023

They really hit the perfect balance of crazy sexy and cool on this one! I remember the singles off of this record and I feel like that's enough TLC for me!

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Sep 23 2023

I'd imagine a five is way too low for this fucking masterpiece! Beautiful album, fantastic concept record done perfectly

Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
Sep 28 2023

This is one of my favorite albums of all time, PE couldn't miss during this time, the Bomb Squad were on fire, the beats were fire, the rhymes hard as fuck and you can't deny Fight the Power! Welcome to the Terrordome is an all timer, Flav is on point and 9-1-1 is a fucking joke!

The Bends by Radiohead
Sep 29 2023

Another banger! This is when Radiohead became Radiohead!

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Oct 02 2023

Lyrical graffiti and this one's a burner baby! If I never hear a Led Zeppelin song again in a million years it'll still be too soon!

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Oct 03 2023

I got five on it! Arguably their best and a end to end burner! Not a weak song on this one, this is what five stars sounds like

Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Oct 07 2023

This one is great, the way they stitched together everything is magical! Albums like this always make me wonder what music would be like if there were no sampling laws!

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Oct 21 2023

An interesting follow up to their big breakthrough, they seemed to have turned away from what everyone liked about Funeral and made a completing and complex frustrating follow up! I enjoy it but can see why it's not everyone's favorite.

Phrenology by The Roots
Oct 22 2023

Great mixed bag here showing a lot of different influences. Black Thought is a very underrated emcee or at least he was, I think people are coming around.

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Oct 24 2023

Welcome to the jungle baby! This really brings me back! A staple of my youth that I haven't listened to in ages, this should be fun! Still a fun listen didn't exactly age that well but still worth a listen

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Oct 28 2023

Out on tour with the Smashing Pumpkins, these nature kids, do they have a function and do I really give a fuck?

Deloused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta
Oct 30 2023

I liked this a little less than the first EP and more than the follow up...this band seems to lose me a little more with each album they release which is odd because they have all the makings of an incredible band.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Nov 04 2023

Country music for people that don't like country music!

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Nov 13 2023

This is a great record, I discovered this late and have been enjoying it ever since!

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Nov 14 2023

This is a stone cold classic for a reason, they really captured the moment in time and put it on record! I enjoyed the follow-up as well even if it was too many years too late. This had massive bangers on it and some top tier deep cuts, worth a revisit although time and place plays a huge factor in this release so it loses a little something all these years later

Countdown To Ecstasy by Steely Dan
Nov 19 2023

God these guys suck, who the fuck listens to Steely Dan? This is music for people that don't actually enjoy listening to music they just want to show off their $10,000 Soundsystem while looking down at you, guess what, you're an asshole and so are Ted Steely and Dan Danielson! Ain't nobody fucking to this record BTW

Pornography by The Cure
Nov 26 2023

What is this filth?!! Imagine finding pornography on my phone this morning?!? I need a cure...ok I'll stop this record is flawless 11 stars!

Femi Kuti by Femi Kuti
Nov 27 2023

Greatest live show I've ever seen! The one song 30 minute encore covering his father's song Water No Get Enemy was magical! Looking forward to listening to this again, it's been too long! Great feel to this, a lot of energy and the right amount of political outrage! Doing his father proud! Band tight as hell songs just fucking go!

Aja by Steely Dan
Dec 23 2023

I hate Steely Dan, this is the worst kind of dad rock and don't get me started on their fans!

Dec 24 2023

I'm not really sure I like this band, if there's one album I should live it's this one but every time I try to listen to it I can't get through it. I tried again, same results, this just isn't for me

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Dec 25 2023

I've never been a fan, don't get the hype and am sure I've listened this once and never thought of it again

Dec 26 2023

Phil Spector is a fucking scumbag, Darlene Love is a national treasure! It's funky ass Christmas music, that SOB could really make great music, also, fuck that guy!

Tago Mago by Can
Dec 27 2023

This is my shit! Highly recommended! The drums on this are just outstanding, super heavy and just driving, they are a force! The whole band just blends together perfectly, 20 minute plus songs you wish were longer, just perfect!

Dec 29 2023

This one is hard to rate, as a kid this was my shit, Cube could do no wrong, straight outta NWA and right into the Bomb Squads universe! It was a perfect combination for me musically and Cube didn't disappoint! Listening now is a whole lot different, the beats are still dope but the lyrics are very suspect! It's hard to remove this from its place and time for me as this was an album of my youth that came out in that sweet spot where you're just developing your music taste, back then it's a 10/5 now it's much harder. I'm still giving this high marks but understand other people's ratings of this!

Tapestry by Carole King
Jan 09 2024

Boomer core!

Revolver by Beatles
Jan 10 2024

You got a problem I've got a problem solver and the names revolver...ok that has nothing to do with this young upstart out of the United Kingdom that I feel like is going places! I don't think this band made a bad record and giving it anything less than 4 to 5 stars just feels like you're hating for no reason!

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jan 13 2024

The album that sparked my love for hip hop music. It is hard to explain the impact of this record at the time, it was a shift in rap that moved it forward lightyears. Without Run DMC the world of rap and hip hop would be a much different animal

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Jan 15 2024

Horny horn business! I don't think I like jazz as much as I used to and really I didn't really like it much back then! Wow, two songs in just under 40 minutes? I like the organ at the beginning. Here comes the horn!

The Coral by The Coral
Jan 19 2024

Good mix of odd and straightforward rock music

Pyromania by Def Leppard
Jan 21 2024

Get the sugar because it's pouring time! I'm just going to end up listening to a bunch of the hits, no need to listen to this full album, shit rocks the corporate casbah

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Jan 22 2024

Here he is, bam, and you say goddamn this is a dope jam! I appreciate what Little Richard did I probably won't be reaching for any of his records any time soon. Records this old always just feel like a compilation of singles thrown together way after the fact just so you can buy the music twice...and still he probably didn't see a dime for his work! Banger after banger of just filth! Well it's sort of not so well hidden filth but it fooled enough people! Yeah this is just feel good tune after feel good tune, listen once and you'll feel like you've listened 1000 times

Jan 24 2024

I finally listened to Blur last year, ran through their discography and this was my favorite!

Butterfly by Mariah Carey
Jan 29 2024

I think I can make it through life without ever listening to this record. I have no desire to play this and can spend my time actually listening to music I enjoy. I have yet to discover many good records on this list that either I have never heard of heard of but never listened. Another terrible pick! Eleven Stars!

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Jan 30 2024

Five star classic, everything you want in an instrumental hip hop record!

Queens of the Stone Age by Queens Of The Stone Age
Feb 01 2024

My favorite of their catalogue this one hits you like a tonne of bricks and never lets up! I prefer the original order of the tracklist and original cover but that's just me!

Ys by Joanna Newsom
Feb 02 2024

Tell me Ys...a beautiful and wild freak folk record that seems like you find something new each time you listen

Dookie by Green Day
Feb 07 2024

Very much enjoyed this when it first came out and still enjoy this today

The Velvet Underground & Nico by The Velvet Underground
Feb 10 2024

Just listened to this going to start a band! There's always money in the banana stand! I think I appreciate the songs with Nico more as I got older than when I first heard this. This is just a great album front to back and actually lives up to the hype

Stankonia by OutKast
Feb 17 2024

Five stars, one of if not the best Outkast albums, banger after banger

Blackstar by David Bowie
Mar 05 2024

Mos Def, Talib Kweli and David Bowie, LET'S GO!!! Wait what, I'm wrong, it's about what? Oh dear lord, here comes the waterworks!

Shaft by Isaac Hayes
Mar 12 2024

They say that cat Shaft is a bad mother..shut your mouth..I'm just talking about Shaft, right on! Love the movie and the soundtrack Isaac Hayes straight kills it on this record

Elephant by The White Stripes
Mar 13 2024

The last great White Stripes album!

The Nightfly by Donald Fagen
Mar 24 2024

Nice try, this is still some bullshit Steely Dan, you ain't fooling nobody, fuck this guy!

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Apr 02 2024

I don't care which one is Pink they all suck!

Apr 09 2024

Easy 5/5 an all time classic! Used to rock the purple tape daily when it came out and it still hits today! This was the Wu at the height of their powers, they were untouchable.

Dr. Octagonecologyst by Dr. Octagon
Apr 11 2024

This was mindblowing the first time I ever heard this! It had so many elements in it I dug, Kool Keith's straight up weirdness on the mic, DJ Q-Bert on the cuts and Dan the Automator on the beats? It was a recipe for one hell of a fucked up stew! It delivers on all levels and it might seem a little problematic lyrically these days I can't deny how much it hit me when it came out!

Dummy by Portishead
Apr 12 2024

Classic

The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Apr 16 2024

West Coast, no Hip Hop classic! Changed the game!

Apr 24 2024

Easy 5! I know I know it really doesn't hold up at all but for better or for worse it's a game changer.

Yeezus by Kanye West
May 16 2024

Didn't like it when it came out and still don't like it today, I just don't get this dude

Jun 05 2024

This version of the Pink Floyd are not my favorite version but a good version none the less

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Jun 13 2024

Hip Hop classic, hands down! Its a shame it has the executive producer all over it and the sex interludes are a bit much

The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy
Jun 17 2024

Things I am: a fire starter, a twisted fire starter I think I used to play this way too much back when it came out, about to time travel back to a simpler time! From my memory I got sick of the singles real quick and really dug into the rest of the tracks.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Jun 20 2024

Really solid record, if these young men keep this up they'll go places

Third by Portishead
Jul 03 2024

I celebrate their entire catalog! This record didn't reach the highs of their first two but it's a solid record with some really great songs!

1999 by Prince
Jul 06 2024
Bongo Rock by Incredible Bongo Band
Jul 09 2024

Funky ass record

The Man Who by Travis
Jul 10 2024

The man who what? What kind of title is that? Who is this Travis fellow anyways? This has a real "for people that think Coldplay are too edgy" vibe!

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Jul 15 2024

This guy is good, I wonder if he put anything else out

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Jul 16 2024

This is nowhere as good as the worst White Stripes album. His solo work never did it for me, had some songs but never seemed to recapture the magic of The White Stripes.

All Hail the Queen by Queen Latifah
Jul 23 2024

Solid record, really dope production and lyrics. It was really hard for a lady emcee to breakthrough and for the most part she seemed authentic but there will always be a little bit of that feeling she's trying to be too much like one of the boys, hip hop has a checkered past when it comes to a lot of things ladies on the mic not getting their respect is one of them

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Jul 27 2024

Drunk jerk off that thinks he's some deep poet but is just a douche

Rid Of Me by PJ Harvey
Jul 30 2024

Love this record and celebrate her entire catalog

Maxinquaye by Tricky
Aug 06 2024

I somewhat enjoy this record but it really feels like it was a time and place type thing.

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Aug 08 2024

Still waiting for all the other states Sufjan!

69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields
Aug 20 2024

Not enough songs! I really do love this record and like to take time every few months to just sit down and listen to the whole thing from start to finish but realize for most people it's too mighty of a task!

American Beauty by Grateful Dead
Aug 28 2024

These hippies are just alright with me

Tommy by The Who
Sep 06 2024

I'm a bigger fan of The What, the Why, the Where, the When and the How!

Illmatic by Nas
Sep 27 2024

Hip Hop perfection!

Teenager Of The Year by Frank Black
Sep 28 2024

Great Pixies record! Ok that's not exactly true but this is the next best thing to even the worst Pixies record!

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
Sep 30 2024

Great gateway into Cuban music, fantastic documentary and some really beautiful music on this one!

Live! by Fela Kuti
Oct 03 2024

Fantastic record really captures the energy of a Fela Kuti show! Ginger Baker is an asshole but he sure can rip a drum solo! I absolutely love this record

Be by Common
Oct 12 2024

Never got the hype surrounding this, I thought he peaked with Like Water for Chocolate. Once he dropped the Sense he was really just Common...YEAHHHHHHHHH

The Rising by Bruce Springsteen
Oct 17 2024

Boomer bullshit, I'll give you some of his older work but this is unnecessary

Oct 19 2024

Dope record! I played the shit out of this when it came out! Holds up okay, lyrics are always a question but overall it's still full of bangers!

Goo by Sonic Youth
Oct 21 2024

This wasn't my gateway into Sonic Youth but it did solidify my fandom of Sonic Youth

Ray Of Light by Madonna
Oct 22 2024

I'm good, she had some jams back in the day but most of her output seems so polished and manufactured that I can't get into it

Bug by Dinosaur Jr.
Oct 24 2024

A great album to play loud! I've dipped in and out on Dino Jr over the years so it's hard to say this is better or worse than some of their other output but I do like it.

Bone Machine by Tom Waits
Oct 26 2024

I dig this weird and wonderful record

Halcyon Digest by Deerhunter
Oct 28 2024

This.was the record that really made me a fan of this band, going back to their older stuff I was truly hooked. It's a shame this might have been their peak because everything after this was good but never great. I hope they regroup and put out something magical again and soon!

Bad Company by Bad Company
Oct 30 2024

Standout song Bad Company from the band Bad Company from the album Bad Company

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Nov 01 2024

It's fine, love the use of the DAP Kings as backing band. The singles are still massive.

Is This It by The Strokes
Nov 03 2024

Perfection! Just an amazing debut record that set off a rock resurgence in NYC and around the world. Opened my eyes to indie rock with one ear towards the future and one checking out the past and all the great bands doing it before them! Easy 5

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Nov 04 2024

Horn man blows horn very good

McCartney by Paul McCartney
Nov 05 2024

I enjoy this record, who knew the guy from Wings had it in him! Momma Miss America will always be my jam! Maybe I'm Amazed is arguably the best solo Beatles song?

Face to Face by The Kinks
Nov 06 2024

I should like the Kinks more than I do but I don't so what can you do? This record is fine, most of their records are fine they just never blew me away with any of them

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Nov 08 2024

I'd be really interested to know where Jimi would have went musically if he never dies, it's a great what if. This just has too many great songs to not rank high

On The Beach by Neil Young
Nov 10 2024

Classic, so much emotion on this record probably right up there with my favorite records not just by Neil but all time

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Nov 12 2024

Love this as a full listen more than picking and choosing singles. Really tells a story of what the suburbs used to be like before they really become cookie cutter houses and neighborhoods. The feeling of boredom, isolation and abandonment really come though on this. This is for a generation of kids that were sent out into the world to fend for themselves, at least until the streetlights came on!

Harvest by Neil Young
Nov 15 2024

Masterpiece, I can listen to this all day, Neil has one hell of a discography and like Bowie will at least have one or two interesting things on each record or a great concept that he sometimes hits the mark on but can always fall short

Elastica by Elastica
Nov 21 2024

Fantastic record

Like A Prayer by Madonna
Nov 26 2024

Madonna is really good at being Madonna. It's really boring to me and sounds of the time but I was never the target audience

Smash by The Offspring
Nov 29 2024

Ingrained in my mind for so many years now feels like a comfortable old blanket, I can't look at this record critically so I won't even try!

Young Americans by David Bowie
Dec 05 2024

Bowie is always at least interesting and you'll always find something you'll like on his records, not the first one I'd grab but I'm not turning it off if it comes on.

So by Peter Gabriel
Dec 09 2024

So? More like No! None of these records appeal to me, I want to discover new music, even if it's old music, but it's always the same old bullshit I can't get in to.

L'Eau Rouge by The Young Gods
Dec 10 2024

It's interesting, not good but unexpected

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Dec 11 2024

Jazz man testify! Some dudes all playing different shit at the same time.

1989 by Taylor Swift
Dec 14 2024

Not for me

Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear
Dec 15 2024

I like this record, not perfect but solid throughout

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Dec 20 2024

Perfection! Not much more can be said about this album that hasn't already been said, so creative, so fresh, it's timeless! The more you listen the more new sounds you hear! Probably a few lyrics that didn't exactly stand the test of time but what do you expect from the crew that were licensed to ill?

Achtung Baby by U2
Dec 25 2024

Again, these guys are from England and who gives a shit

John Prine by John Prine
Jan 01 2025

Hillbilly music once again, pass

Jan 08 2025

Fantastic concept record that works really well when you listen straight through but I still can enjoy songs individually. Probably my favorite of his

Jan 10 2025

Never bought into the cult of 2pac, I enjoyed a song here or there but it never caught my attention enough to dig deep and see what the hype was about. I've tried before and tried again with this and I guess I'll never get it, this is fine.

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Jan 12 2025

Hillbilly nonsense, "I don't like country but I like Johnny Cash" it's such bullshit, you don't have to like or dislike country to like Johnny Cash, you just don't like music if you like Johnny Cash

Jan 24 2025

Love Devo, this album is great, like most of their output, I think having a massive hit really hurts them in most people's eyes but they never disappoint on each record, you'll find some bangers throughout

Bandwagonesque by Teenage Fanclub
Jan 25 2025

I rather enjoy this record and have taken a shine to this band in general

E.V.O.L. by Sonic Youth
Jan 28 2025

When I got into Sonic Youth I jumped in feet first and really embraced the early noisy stuff and would just play records like this over and over again! Eventually I mellowed out and embraced their later albums and play them much more but going back to this one I remembered why I fell in love with SY in the first place!

It's A Shame About Ray by The Lemonheads
Feb 01 2025

It's fine, sadly it's where they lost me, I hate to say it but I prefer their earlier work

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Feb 02 2025

Running away from this nonsense

War by U2
Feb 03 2025

These guys are from England and who gives a shit

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Feb 04 2025

This is a fantastic record! It's like the dam broke after he left the Beatles and all this incredible music poured out

Celebrity Skin by Hole
Feb 09 2025

Not my favorite Smashing Pumpkins record but right up there

Copper Blue by Sugar
Feb 21 2025

I personally really like this album despite not sounding much like Husker Du, it's Bob with smoother edges, really enjoyable but not exactly a necessity to every collection

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Feb 22 2025

The album that launched a dozen bands! Shit is an absolute masterpiece!

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Feb 23 2025

Morrissey is a piece of shit, this record is amazing

Fetch The Bolt Cutters by Fiona Apple
Feb 24 2025

Not the first Fiona Apple album I'm grabbing but it's fine, nice comeback I guess she only hits when I'm in a certain mood

Swordfishtrombones by Tom Waits
Mar 01 2025

Fantastic record, it's a great introduction to the weird ass Tom Waits era!

You Are The Quarry by Morrissey
Mar 13 2025

This guy a a massive twat but man can he.makes some wonderful music!

Emperor Tomato Ketchup by Stereolab
Mar 27 2025

This was my gateway into this band, first time I heard it I was blown away and it's the type of record you revisit and find something new every time

Purple Rain by Prince
Mar 29 2025

Five stars, no notes

Apr 02 2025

Fantastic debut record really is a vibe. My only issue is some of the songs seem to be all build and need to just explode but sadly never do. Still in rotation and I just got the anniversary edition so it's not like those things bother me in the end

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Apr 15 2025

I really adore Kid A, this feels like the leftover tracks from that record that really didn't need to be released on an album, maybe just release each Kid A track with a B-side? Still better than most albums on this list but not Radiohead's best work.

Here, My Dear by Marvin Gaye
Apr 19 2025

Top tier divorce album! Worth looking up the story behind this before listening!

Group Sex by Circle Jerks
Apr 21 2025

It's a short and sweet punk record.

Mothership Connection by Parliament
Apr 22 2025

Heavy space funk that'll take you places they don't want you to know exist, Parliament Funkadelic are the foundation! Welcome to another universe!

Moving Pictures by Rush
Apr 26 2025

One of those bands that's somehow been in my life since birth, the songs always sound familiar whenever I hear them even if I've never heard them before, that doesn't mean they're any good... okay this one is fine, if you are going to include a Rush album why not this one?

May 01 2025

Such a great record, probably one I'll go back to over and over but somehow not their best, although their best changes from day to day or hour to hour

Spiderland by Slint
May 02 2025

Fantastic record

London Calling by The Clash
May 04 2025

Who are they calling? Classic material

Pelican West by Haircut 100
May 05 2025

I would have never listened to this on my own so I'm glad this is on this list because it's a bit of a banger! There are some very 80's things going on that date the shit out of it but overall it's like some early sounding Brit pop at least to my ears! Not perfect but way better than I would have expected, I thought it would be complete shit.

Microshift by Hookworms
May 07 2025

Like this is not something I needed to listen to before I die, it might kill me how bad this is, noisy nonsense.

Stripped by Christina Aguilera
May 10 2025

This is not for me, too much sugar is bad for your health and your ears

Hysteria by Def Leppard
May 12 2025

Gentlemen, coming to the stage, Candy!!! Sugar pouring everywhere! Having never actually sat down and listened to this album in my whole life I feel like I know way too many songs off of this! Just because it was popular doesn't mean it was good!

Kid A by Radiohead
May 15 2025

Perfection, no notes

Brown Sugar by D'Angelo
May 16 2025

Not his best work but a great introduction to an enormous talent that I wish gave the world more music

Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
May 18 2025

Pop pop pop music! This is something else, it's complete shit but always gets high praise from hipster assholes! It's a noisy mess! I'm sure when I was an edgy 14 year old I'd tell you this was the shit, now it's fucking noise

The Idiot by Iggy Pop
May 21 2025

Iggy and Bowie make a great combo

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
May 22 2025

David Lee Roth was right! Needs more slurs!

Come Find Yourself by Fun Lovin' Criminals
May 23 2025

There's that one song that samples pulp fiction and a bunch of filler, so unnecessary

Sea Change by Beck
May 28 2025

I enjoy this record

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
May 29 2025
xx by The xx
May 31 2025

I like the xx this album is perfectly fine

Elvis Is Back by Elvis Presley
Jun 08 2025

Where did he go? Elvis reminds me of my childhood as my dad was a big fan, it all sounds the same to me and if you are looking to listen to Elvis you might as well throw on a greatest hits album because it's all about singles and not albums back in Big E's hayday

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Jun 10 2025

Classic material

Who's Next by The Who
Jun 16 2025

Who? I guess the singles are okay and if you like The Who you'll probably like this but it's not for me

Jun 17 2025

Never got into 50 Cent I know the singles and they feel like they were created in a lab to be big hits, I'm not a fan of manufactured pop rap

Caetano Veloso by Caetano Veloso
Jun 18 2025

This is an enjoyable album laid back great vibes

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Jun 21 2025

We're going to need a bigger band! It's big band music if you like it you probably like Sir Duke I'm not sure I care enough to listen more than once it is what it is

Street Signs by Ozomatli
Jun 22 2025

I remember being into this band for a second

Parachutes by Coldplay
Jun 24 2025

We've got Radiohead at home, this is Radiohead at home

The White Room by The KLF
Jun 26 2025

I like the two singles and I enjoy reading about The KLF more than listening to them but they are nothing if not interesting

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Jun 27 2025

I'm not sure why this album is included, there are better Radiohead albums to choose from, this is good but not top tier Radiohead! I remember listening to the early leak of this and enjoying it but feeling a little let down when I heard the official release. All that being said it's still a Radiohead album and it's better than most of the shit I'm fed off this list

Music by Madonna
Jun 28 2025

Not my cup of tea, I do like a few of her early club songs but this is too shiny and overproduced

Survivor by Destiny's Child
Jun 29 2025

I tried but it's not working for me.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Jun 30 2025

Heavy heavy heavy! I'm familiar with more of this than I thought, I do dig the lesser known songs just because of how overplayed the rest are! Good shit

Back In Black by AC/DC
Jul 01 2025

One of those albums I'd never reach for to play and yet I know every song on this record, and not because they've been making the same song over and over again for 50 years!

Murmur by R.E.M.
Jul 02 2025

I don't think I'm much of an REM fan, I should be, they check a lot of boxes and yet listening to them I find myself trailing off and doing anything but listening to them! They have a few songs that are okay but I lose interest quickly.

#1 Record by Big Star
Jul 05 2025

Nice example of the origins of power pop, this is another album that's more talked about than listened to, it's a cool record that suffers from the stuff that came after it making it sound a little bland and not all that innovative or fresh. I'm sure if you heard it when it first came out it would be something but now it's just ok power pop and I love me some power pop so....

Eagles by Eagles
Jul 06 2025

These guys suck

Abbey Road by Beatles
Jul 08 2025

Another one from this obscure band no one has ever heard of? Great! Another solid outing from these guys, they look to have a bright future if they can keep this up!

Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby by Girls Against Boys
Jul 09 2025

Mostly sounds the same, kind of industrial sounding more than anything, a little too noisy for me. I like one of their songs and it's not on this, this isn't something you NEED to listen to.

Slanted And Enchanted by Pavement
Jul 10 2025

Now this is what I call music! This isn't my favorite Pavement album but if you ask me again tomorrow it just might be!

Exile In Guyville by Liz Phair
Jul 11 2025

I've always enjoyed this record even if it's made to feel important rather than good, there are too many good to great tracks on this to not like it I just think the talk about it can be exhausting, just listen and enjoy.

The Good, The Bad & The Queen by The Good, The Bad & The Queen
Jul 12 2025

Very chill sounds like Blur or Gorillaz or some combination of both? I remember playing this back when it came out with Herculean being a standout, it's still really good! This is a rare album where you can listen to The Good the Bad and The Queen off the album the Good the Bad and The Queen by the band The Good the Bad and The Queen!

Scream, Dracula, Scream by Rocket From The Crypt
Jul 14 2025

This was unexpected, a band who's name I've heard more then I've actually heard music by. Loud aggressive garage rock, I'm here for it. Okay I've heard On a Rope and reading about them that looks like a song that had some burn and I can see why. There seems to be a whole pile of music that sounds like this that you really can't distinguish between the different bands doing it, it's fun rock n roll music that is a little disposable but fun nonetheless. I enjoyed this album but it won't get a lot of replay maybe a few tracks might make a playlist or two. I'm not sure it needs to be on this list but it's not like it's the only record I've questioned on this list.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Jul 20 2025

Not essential White Stripes, still good but not great. Probably the least listened to album from their catalogue for me personally and if I never hear it again I'll be ok with it

Frampton Comes Alive by Peter Frampton
Jul 23 2025

Just moved to the suburbs and got my copy in the mail, white on!

Step In The Arena by Gang Starr
Jul 29 2025

This is a great record, solid followup to their debut, not their best but you can see what they are capable of and what they'll become. Great beats per usual and Guru has always been a favorite of mine on the mic.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Aug 07 2025

Classic material! This is a sampling masterpiece! So many amazing sounds that somehow work so well together, dope lyrics and a new and refreshing sound! I love this record and it's not even my favorite De La record!

The Rolling Stones by The Rolling Stones
Aug 10 2025

Not exactly the first or fifteenth Stones record I'd want to listen to, potential is there, nice attempt at mimicking the real thing

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Aug 11 2025

Still haven't full dove into Zappa but this is nothing If not interesting and full of ideas I can get behind and other sounds I'm not feeling, if I come back to it I might change my mind but for now, it's fine

Arular by M.I.A.
Aug 19 2025

One massive song and a lot of other interesting times, very time and place record for me personally

Alien Lanes by Guided By Voices
Aug 26 2025

Unapologetic Guided by Voices fan that celebrates their entire catalog, the celebration is long and I'm a complete mess at the end, sort of like a lot of GBV songs!

Tical by Method Man
Sep 13 2025

What's that shit that they be smoking? TICAL! This was supposed to be the big Wu Tang breakout star and he was really upstaged by Raekwon, Ghostface and The GZA! The hype around this was crazy and due to a flood and other cats dropping classics this one is a level below those ones. Still solid but seems to be missing something!

Hearts And Bones by Paul Simon
Sep 25 2025

I love vampire weekend! Just listen to Graceland and you'll be good

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Sep 28 2025

These guys are going places, I could probably just give them all 5 stars and be fine with it but I'm sure there's a clunker or two on here, right?

Marquee Moon by Television
Oct 03 2025

More talked about than actually listened to still a good record but so many bands took this sound and ran with it and did so much better with it it's hard to rank this high but usually the original always gets the short end of the stick

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Oct 06 2025

Not my cup of tea but they'll have one banger come out of nowhere and I'll be like shit, this is good!

Oct 13 2025

Definitely not the first Husker Du record I'd reach for, or the second or third, odd choice, it's fine but they have better records

New York Dolls by New York Dolls
Oct 30 2025

Very much a record that's more talked about than actually listened to which is fine, it's not without its charms but nothing I'd every really go back to

Kala by M.I.A.
Oct 31 2025

At the time and place this record hit, now listening back it is good but feels of it's time

Nov 10 2025

I like it, it's not the best PE album and is probably the end of their epic run but it has enough heat on it to keep coming back to

Planet Rock: The Album by Afrika Bambaataa
Nov 12 2025

The majority of old school rap records are just a collection of singles that really don't flow together all that well, this is no exception. The big singles are great the filler is filler and it turns out Bam is a piece of shit person!

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
Nov 17 2025

Fuck the police! These guys actually have catchy songs and I probably know way more of their catalog than I care to admit. Sting >>>>> Sting

Live / Dead by Grateful Dead
Nov 20 2025

Hippie nonsense. I can sort of get into it for a while but grow bored with it, I need more drugs

Blood And Chocolate by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Nov 22 2025

Chocolate and Cheese>>>>>>Blood and Chocolate I don't get the appeal of this Elvis

All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot
Nov 23 2025

I wish this band was hope so they'd be gone too

High Violet by The National
Nov 25 2025

This is peak National, Alligator is my favorite, Boxer is almost perfect and this is their best, that's a hell of a three album run! This pretty much is the last great National album IMHO

Nov 27 2025

Rakim>>>>Korn. I can appreciate the energy and feel like they are definitely a vibe just not one for me

Faust IV by Faust
Dec 07 2025

Heavy krautrock? Oh yeah! Not my favorite krautrock album, love the noise and repetitiveness, enjoy when they get in a grove.

Gentlemen by The Afghan Whigs
Dec 10 2025

Fantastic record or at least it was at the time of release, I can still go back to it and enjoy it front to back and it hits the old nostalgia button so I'm a little biased on this one

Blur by Blur
Dec 12 2025

I went through each and every Blur album from the start and recall enjoying each album and finding the next one better than the last. I only really knew Song 2 off of this but found it had so many good songs and is worth a listen

Dec 17 2025

Arguably the greatest hip hop record of all time? Best debut album of all time? Hit like a ton of bricks at the time and still gives me goosebumps when I play it today! This album and the first run of solo albums is unfuckwithable!

Dry by PJ Harvey
Dec 18 2025

Fabulous debut album I celebrate her entire catalog!

Ritual De Lo Habitual by Jane's Addiction
Dec 20 2025

I should like this more than I do, it's in my musical sweet spot but it just doesn't do it for me for some reason

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Dec 21 2025

Great record, probably hits the nostalgia button hard! End to end bangers

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Dec 24 2025

Not my thing and yet I'm well aware of most of these songs, this record wasn't as big as the next one but was probably my introduction to this band and honestly I feel the energy and the vibes but it never connected with me. They really only finally hit their full potential when they cut their hair, dirty hippies!

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Dec 28 2025

I had this record and didn't really listen to it, felt like something you needed in your collection but didn't really need to listen to. I think their other one is bigger and better but this is fine, a couple of bangers and some filler, nothing special

Dec 29 2025

Always start fired up listening to shit like this but it always gets a little same-y and boring, it's fine

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Dec 30 2025

My personal introduction to Sonic Youth, this album holds a special place in my heart and really opened up a whole world of interesting music to me, hard to be objective so fuck it, go with your heart!

Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective
Jan 01 2026

This is peak Animal Collective and solid from start to finish! Not my introduction to the band but definitely the most "accessible" of their "pop" albums, shit it's not close to pop but that's the best word I can think of, and honestly it's probably the closest they'll ever come to crossing over into the mainstream and they really never sniffed anything close to that!

Jan 02 2026

Second best Nirvana album of all time? I'm very familiar with the singles off this, listening to the rest and it all sort of sounds the same, if I was into it at the time it came out I'd probably appreciate it more but listening now it's fine.
